The molecular geometry, vibrational frequencies, and gauge including atomic orbital (GIAO) 1H‐ and 13C NMR chemical shift values of the title compound in the ground state have been calculated using the Hartree‐Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) methods with 6‐31G(d) basis sets, and compared with the experimental data. The calculated results show that the optimized geometries can well reproduce the crystal structural parameters and the theoretical vibrational frequencies, and 1H‐ and 13C NMR chemical shift values show good agreement with experimental data. To determine conformational flexibility, the molecular energy profile of the title compound was obtained by semiempirical (AM1) calculations with respect to the selected torsion angle, which was varied from ?180° to +180° in steps of 10°. The energetic behavior of the title compound in solvent media was examined using the B3LYP method with the 6‐31G(d) basis set by applying the Onsager and the polarizable continuum model (PCM). The results obtained with these methods reveal that the PCM method provided more stable structure than Qnsager's method. By using TD‐DFT method, electronic absorption spectra of the title compound have been predicted and a good agreement with the TD‐DFT method and the experimental one is determined. The predicted nonlinear optical properties of the title compound are much greater than ones of urea. In addition, the molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), frontier molecular orbitals (FMO) analysis, NBO analysis and thermodynamic properties of the title compound were investigated using theoretical calculations. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The crystal structures of the title 4‐chlorophenyl, (I), and 2‐chlorophenyl, (II), compounds, both C14H12ClNO2, have been determined using X‐ray diffraction techniques and the molecular structures have also been optimized at the B3LYP/6‐31 G(d,p) level using density functional theory (DFT). The X‐ray study shows that the title compounds both have strong intramolecular O—H...N hydrogen bonds and that the crystal networks are primarily determined by weak C—H...π and van der Waals interactions. The strong intramolecular O—H...N hydrogen bond is evidence of the preference for the phenol–imine tautomeric form in the solid state. The IR spectra of the compounds were recorded experimentally and also calculated for comparison. The results from both the experiment and theoretical calculations are compared in this study.  相似文献

Density functional calculations of the structure, molecular electrostatic potential, and thermodynamic functions have been performed at B3LYP/6‐31G(d) level of theory for the title compound of 2‐[(2,4‐dimethylphenyl)iminomethyl]‐3,5‐dimethoxyphenol ( I ). To investigate the tautomeric stability, optimization calculations at B3LYP/6‐31G(d) level were performed for the enol and keto forms of I . Calculated results reveal that the enol form of I is more stable than its keto form. The predicted nonlinear optical properties of I are much greater than ones of urea. The changes of thermodynamic properties for the formation of the title compound with the temperature ranging from 200 to 500 K have been obtained using the statistical thermodynamic method. At 298.15 K, the change of Gibbs free energy for the formation reaction of I is 32.973 kJ/mol. The title compound can not be spontaneously produced from the isolated monomers at room temperature. The tautomeric equilibrium constant is computed as 0.868 at 298.15 K for enol‐imine?keto‐amine tautomerization of I . In addition, natural bond orbital analysis of I was performed using the B3LYP/6‐31G(d) method. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2012  相似文献

Ab initio methods at the levels HF/cc‐pVDZ, HF/6‐31G(d,p), MP2/cc‐pVDZ, and MP2/6‐31G(d,p), as well as methods based on density functional theory (DFT) employing the hybrid functional B3LYP with the basis sets cc‐pVDZ and 6‐31G(d,p), have been applied to study the conformers of 2,6‐distyrylpyridine. Bond distances, bond angles, and dihedral angles have been calculated at the B3LYP level. The calculated values were in good agreement with those measured by X‐ray diffraction analysis of 2,6‐distyrylpyridine. The values calculated using the Hartree‐Fock method and second‐order perturbation theory (MP2) were inconsistent. The optimized lowest‐energy geometries were calculated from the reported X‐ray structural data by the B3LYP/cc‐pVDZ method. Three conformations, A, B, and C, were proposed for 2,6‐distyrylpyridine. Calculations at the three levels of theory indicated that conformation A was the most stable structure, with conformations C and B being higher in energy by 1.10 and 2.57 kcal/mol, respectively, using the same method and basis function. The same trend in the relative energies of the three possible conformations was observed at the two levels of theory and with the different basis sets employed. The reported X‐ray data were utilized to optimize total molecular energy of conformation A at the different calculation levels. The bond lengths, bond angles, and dihedral angles were then obtained from the optimized geometries by ab initio methods and by applying DFT using the two basis functions cc‐pVDZ and 6‐31G(d,p). The values were analyzed and compared. The calculated total energies, the relative energies of the molecular orbitals, the gap between them, and the dipole moment for each conformational structure proposed for 2,6‐distyrylpyridine are also reported. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The reagent Me3Si(C6F5) was used for the preparation of a series of perfluorinated, pentafluorophenyl‐substituted 3,6‐dihydro‐2H‐1,4‐oxazines ( 2 – 8 ), which, otherwise, would be very difficult to synthesize. Multiple pentafluorophenylation occurred not only on the heterocyclic ring of the starting compound 1 (Scheme), but also in para position of the introduced C6F5 substituent(s) leading to compounds with one to three nonafluorobiphenyl (C12F9) substituents. While the tris(pentafluorophenyl)‐substituted compound 3 could be isolated as the sole product by stoichiometric control of the reagent, the higher‐substituted compounds 5 – 8 could only be obtained as mixtures. The structures of the oligo(perfluoroaryl) compounds were confirmed by 19F‐ and 13C‐NMR, MS, and/or X‐ray crystallography. DFT simulations of the 19F‐ and 13C‐NMR chemical shifts were performed at the B3LYP‐GIAO/6‐31++G(d,p) level for geometries optimized by the B3LYP/6‐31G(d) level, a technique that proved to be very useful to accomplish full NMR assignment of these complex products.  相似文献

The mechanism of the gas‐phase elimination kinetics of 2‐ethoxypyridine has been studied through the electronic structure calculations using density functional methods: B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p), B3LYP/6‐31++G(d,p), B3PW91/6‐31G(d,p), B3PW91/6‐31++G(d,p), MPW1PW91/6‐31G(d,p), MPW1PW91/6‐31++G(d,p), PBEPBE/6‐31G(d,p), PBEPBE/6‐31++G(d,p), PBE1PBE1/6‐31G(d,p), and PBE1PBE1/6‐31++G(d,p). The elimination reaction of 2‐ethoxypyridine occurs through a six‐centered transition state geometry involving the pyridine nitrogen, the substituted carbon of the aromatic ring, the ethoxy oxygen, two carbons of the ethoxy group, and a hydrogen atom, which migrates from the ethoxy group to the nitrogen to give 2‐pyridone and ethylene. The reaction mechanism appears to occur with the participation of π‐electrons, similar to alkyl vinyl ether elimination reaction, with simultaneous ethylene formation and hydrogen migration to the pyridine nitrogen producing 2‐pyridone. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Six strongly fluorescent four‐coordinate organoboron N,C chelates containing an aryl isoquinoline skeleton were prepared. Remarkably, the fluorescence quantum yields reach values of up to 0.74 in oxygen‐free toluene. The strong B?N interaction was corroborated by the single‐crystal X‐ray analysis of two dyes. The intramolecular charge‐transfer character of the fluorophores was evidenced by solvatochromism studies and time‐dependent DFT calculations at the PCM(toluene)/CAM‐B3LYP/6‐311++G(2d,p)//PCM(toluene)/B3LYP/6‐311G(2d,p) level of theory. The compounds combine high chemical stability with high photostability, especially when equipped with electron‐donating substituents. The strong fluorescence and the large Stokes shifts predestine these compounds for use in confocal fluorescence microscopy. This was demonstrated for the imaging of the N13 mouse microglial cell line. Moreover, significant two‐photon absorption cross sections (up to 61 GM) allow the use of excitation wavelengths in the near‐infrared region (>800 nm).  相似文献

Some 2‐alkyl‐4‐methyl‐2,6‐diphenyl‐2H‐thiopyrans were synthesized, and the crystal structure of 2‐tert‐butyl‐4‐methyl‐2,6‐diphenyl‐2H‐thiopyran 1 was determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. X‐ray crystallographic analysis and ab initio HF/6‐31G(d) and B3LYP/6‐31G(d) calculations revealed a favorable nonplanar half‐chair conformation for these compounds in which two ethylene units were rotated relative to each other around the single bond. The most conspicuous feature was the orientation of alkyl and phenyl groups with respect to the S atom. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 1N‐Phenyl‐3‐(2,4‐dichlorophenyl)‐5‐(4‐chlorophenyl)‐2‐pyrazoline has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV‐Vis and X‐ray single crystal diffraction. Density functional calculations have been carried out for the title compound by using the B3LYP method with a 6‐311G** basis set. The calculated results show that the predicted geometry can reproduce well the structural parameters. The electronic absorption spectra calculated in the gas phase are better than those calculated in EtOH solvent to model the experimental electronic spectra. Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) analyses suggest that the above electronic transitions are mainly assigned to π → π* transitions. On the basis of vibrational analyses, the thermodynamic properties of the compound at different temperatures have been calculated, revealing the correlations between C0p, m, S0m, H0m and temperature.  相似文献

The energetic behaviors of the title compounds in solvent media have been examined using B3LYP method with the 6-31G(d,p) basis set by applying the polarizable continuum model(PCM) . In addition,DFT calculations of the title compounds' molecular electrostatic potentials(MEP) were performed at the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) level of theory. A new thiotetrazole compound, 4‐((1‐phenyl‐1H‐tetrazol‐5‐ylthio)methyl) benzoic acid ( 1 ), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H and 13C NMR, ESI‐MS, FT‐IR, UV–vis, fluorescence spectra, and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. The structural analysis reveals that compound 1 adopts a nonplanar geometric structure and exhibits an extensive but not uniform π delocalization with all members of the tetrazolyl ring and the exocyclic sulfur atom. A density functional theory (DFT) calculation at B3LYP/6‐31G** level of theory was performed to elucidate the structure of this thiotetrazole system. And the time‐dependent DFT (TD‐DFT) calculations of absorption spectra reveal two electron‐transition bands derived from the contribution of π → π* transitions, which are in agreement with experimental results. Moreover, compound 1 exhibits a blue‐light emission (λem = 441 nm) in the solid state at room temperature. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The kinetics and mechanisms of the dehydrochlorination of 2‐chloro‐1‐ phenylethane, 3‐chloro‐1‐phenylpropane, 4‐chloro‐1‐phenylbutane, 5‐chloro‐1‐phenylpentane, and their corresponding chloroalkanes were examined by means of electronic structure calculation using density functional theory methods B3LYP/6–31G(d,p), B3LYP/6–31++G(d,p), MPW1PW91/6–31G(d,p), MPW1PW91/6–31++G(d,p), PBEPBE/6–31G(d,p), and PBEPBE/6–31++G(d,p). The potential energy surface was investigated for the minimum energy path. Calculated enthalpies and energies of activation are in good agreement with experimental values using the MPW1PW91 and B3LYP methods. The transition state of these reactions is a four‐centered cyclic structure. The reported experimental results proposing neighboring group participation by the phenyl group was not supported by theoretical calculations. The rate‐determining process in these reactions is the breaking of Cl? C bond. The reactions are described as concerted moderately polar and nonsynchronous. © 2011 Wiley Peiodicals, Inc. Density functional theory (DFT), HF and MP2 calculations have been carried out to investigate thioxanthone molecule using the standard 6-31+G(d,p) basis set. The results of MP2 calculations show a butterfly structure for thioxanthone. The calculated results show that the predicted geometry can well reproduce the structural parameters. The predicted vibrational frequencies were assigned and compared with experimental IR spectra. A good harmony between theory and experiment is found. The theoretical electronic absorption spectra have been calculated using CIS method. 13C and 1H NMR of the title compound have been calculated by means of B3LYP density functional method with 6-31+G(d,p) basis set. The comparison of the experimental and the theoretical results indicate that density functional B3LYP method is able to provide satisfactory results for predicting NMR properties.  相似文献

In the title compound, C11H7NO4, there is a dihedral angle of 45.80 (7)° between the planes of the benzene and maleimide rings. The presence of O—H...O hydrogen bonding and weak C—H...O interactions allows the formation of R33(19) edge‐connected rings parallel to the (010) plane. Structural, spectroscopic and theoretical studies were carried out. Density functional theory (DFT) optimized structures at the B3LYP/6–311 G(d,p) and 6–31++G(d,p) levels are compared with the experimentally determined molecular structure in the solid state. Additional IR and UV theoretical studies allowed the presence of functional groups and the transition bands of the system to be identified.  相似文献
