The values of the enthalpy (53.3; 51.3; 20.0 kJ mol?1), entropy (?106; ?122; ?144 J mol?1K?1), and volume of activation (?29.1; ?31.0; ?cm3 mol?1), the reaction volume (?25.0; ?26.6; ?cm3 mol?1) and reaction enthalpy (?155.9; ?158.2; ?150.2 kJ mol?1) have been obtained for the first time for the ene reactions of 4‐phenyl‐1,2,4‐triazoline‐3,5‐dione 1 , with cyclohexene 4 , 1‐hexene 6 , and with 2,3‐dimethyl‐2‐butene 8 , respectively. The ratio of the values of the activation volume to the reaction volume (?VcorrVr ? n) in the ene reactions under study, 1 + 4 → 5 and 1 + 6 → 7 , appeared to be the same, namely 1.16. The large negative values of the entropy and the volume of activation of studied reactions 1 + 4 → 5 and 1 + 6 → 7 better correspond to the cyclic structure of the activated complex at the stage determining the reaction rate. The equilibrium constants of these ene reactions can be estimated as exceeding 1018 L mol?1, and these reactions can be considered irreversible. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The second‐order rate constants of thiolysis by n‐heptanethiol on 4‐nitro‐Nn‐butyl‐1,8‐naphthalimide (4NBN) are strongly affected by the water–methanol binary mixture composition reaching its maximum at around 50% mole fraction. In parallel solvent effects on 4NBN absorption molar extinction coefficient also shows a maximum at this composition region. From the spectroscopic study of reactant and product and the known H‐bond capacity of the mixture a rationalization that involves specific solvent H‐donor interaction with the nitro group is proposed to explain the kinetic data. Present findings also show a convenient methodology to obtain strongly fluorescent imides, valuable for peptide and analogs labeling as well as for thio‐naphthalimide derivatives preparations. Ethyl 2‐amino‐4,5,6,7‐tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene‐3‐carboxylate [C11H15NO2S] was synthesized by the Gewald method. Its single crystals were grown from an alcohol/ethyl acetate solution at 15 °C and characterized using IR and 1H‐NMR. These single crystals were irradiated for 72 h at 298 K by a 60Co gamma source with a dose speed of 0.864 kGy/h. After irradiation, electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements were carried out to study radiation‐induced radicals in the temperature range from 120 to 450 K. Additionally, for the single crystal, ESR angular dependencies were measured in the xy, xz and yz planes of the substance. This irradiated single crystal was analyzed based on the ESR spectra. Analysis of the spectra revealed that the radical was formed by a C–H bond fission at the carbon end of the substance. It was also observed that the color of the sample changed after irradiation. The hyperfine and g parameters were determined from the experimental spectra. It was inferred from these results that the hyperfine parameters and g value exhibited anisotropic behavior. The average values of these parameters were calculated as follows: g = 2.0088, AH1=H2 = 20.70 G, AH3=H4 = 10.80 G, AHa = 4.59 G, AHb = 3.24 G and, AN = 6.10 G. A homogeneous, molecular, gas‐phase elimination kinetics of 2‐phenyl‐2‐propanol and 3‐methyl‐1‐ buten‐3‐ol catalyzed by hydrogen chloride in the temperature range 325–386 °C and pressure range 34–149 torr are described. The rate coefficients are given by the following Arrhenius equations: for 2‐phenyl‐2‐propanol log k1 (s?1) = (11.01 ± 0.31) ? (109.5 ± 2.8) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1 and for 3‐methyl‐1‐buten‐3‐ol log k1 (s?1) = (11.50 ± 0.18) ? (116.5 ± 1.4) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1. Electron delocalization of the CH2?CH and C6H5 appears to be an important effect in the rate enhancement of acid catalyzed tertiary alcohols in the gas phase. A concerted six‐member cyclic transition state type of mechanism appears to be, as described before, a rational interpretation for the dehydration process of these substrates. The kinetics of the gas‐phase elimination of α‐methyl‐trans‐cinamaldehyde catalyzed by HCl in the temperature range of 399.0–438.7 °C, and the pressure range of 38–165 Torr is a homogeneous, molecular, pseudo first‐order process and undergoing a parallel reaction to produce via (A) α‐methylstyrene and CO gas and via (B) β‐methylstyrene and CO gas. The decomposition of substrate E‐2‐methyl‐2‐pentenal was performed in the temperature range of 370.0–410.0 °C and the pressure range of 44–150 Torr also undergoing a molecular, pseudo first‐order reaction gives E‐2‐pentene and CO gas. These reactions were carried out in a static system seasoned reactions vessels and in the presence of toluene free radical inhibitor. The rate coefficients are given by the following Arrhenius expressions:
  • Products formation from α‐methyl‐trans‐cinamaldehyde
  • α‐methylstyrene :
  • β‐methylstyrene :
  • Products formation from E‐2‐methyl‐2‐pentenal
  • E‐2‐pentene :
The kinetic and thermodynamic parameters for the thermal decomposition of α‐methyl‐trans‐cinamaldehyde suggest that via (A) proceeds through a bicyclic transition state type of mechanism to yield α‐methylstyrene and carbon monoxide, whereas via (B) through a five‐membered cyclic transition state to give β‐methylstyrene and carbon monoxide. However, the elimination of E‐2‐methyl‐2‐pentenal occurs by way of a concerted cyclic five‐membered transition state mechanism producing E‐2‐pentene and carbon monoxide. The present results support that uncatalyzed α‐β‐unsaturated aldehydes decarbonylate through a three‐membered cyclic transition state type of mechanism. A new organic–organic salt, 2‐aminopyridinium‐4‐hydroxybenzenosulfonate, has been synthesised and characterised by means of FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectroscopies, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and single crystal X‐ray crystallography. Its vibrational spectra have been discussed on the basis of quantum chemical density functional theory (DFT) calculations using the B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p) approach. The role of the intermolecular interactions in this crystal is analysed. The N HċċċO interactions between the hydrogen atoms of the pyridinium cation and oxygen atoms of hydroxybenzenosulfonate anion built the supramolecular arrangement in three‐dimensional space. By means of density functional theory, the Mo(CO)6‐catalyzed intramolecular [2 + 2] or [2 + 2 + 1] cycloaddition reaction of 5‐allenyl‐1‐ynes was investigated. All the intermediates and transition states were optimized completely at B3LYP/6‐311++G(d,p) level (LANL2DZ(f) for Mo). Calculations indicate that the complexation of 5‐allenyl‐1‐ynes with Mo(CO)6 occurred preferentially at the triple bond to give the complex M1 and then the complexation with the distal double bond of the allenes generates the complex M5 . In this reaction, Mo(CO)6‐catalyzed intramolecular [2 + 2] cycloaddition is more favorable than [2 + 2 + 1] cycloaddition. The reaction pathway Mo(CO)6 + R → M5 → T7 → M12 → M13 → T11 → M18 → P4 is the most favorable one, and the most dominant product predicted theoretically is P4 . The solvation effect is remarkable, and it decreases the reaction energy barriers. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We have studied 2‐(2‐benzofuranyl)‐2‐imidazoline (BFI) and characterized it by using infrared and Raman spectroscopies. The density functional theory (DFT) method together with Pople's basis set shows that two conformers exist for the title molecule as have been theoretically determined in the gas phase and that, probably, an average of both conformations is present in the solid phase. The harmonic vibrational wavenumbers for the optimized geometry of the latter conformer were calculated at the B3LYP/6‐31G* level in the proximity of the isolated molecule. For a complete assignment of the IR and Raman spectra in the compound in the solid phase, DFT calculations were combined with Pulay's scaled quantum mechanics force field (SQMFF) methodology in order to fit the theoretical wavenumbers to the experimental ones. Contrary to the cleavage of α‐phenylthioureido peptides 1 proceeding through intermediate 2‐anilinothiazolinone 2 , the b‐analog cis‐2‐(3‐phenylthioureido)cyclopentane‐carboxamide 5 forms transiently 4‐imino‐2‐thioxopyrimidine 6 . Monitoring amide cyclization and hydrolysis of iminopyrimidine 6 in acid by UV showed that an equilibrium between 5 and 6 was reached followed by slower conversion of both compounds into 2‐oxo‐4‐thioxopyrimidine 7 . Both processes were characterized by isosbestic points, the first due to parallel conversion of 5 into 6 and 7 (or 6 into 5 and 7 ) at a constant ratio while the second identical for both reactants – to conversion of equilibrated 5 and 6 into 7 . The special isosbestic points allowed the determination of the individual constants of Scheme 2. Further confirmation was obtained from NMR product analysis and following the cyclization of amide 5 in DMSO:DCl. Product 2‐oxo‐4‐ thioxopyrimidine 7 hydrolyzed reversibly to thioureido acid 8 . The cyclization rate of 8 allowed the participation of 6‐oxothiazine 10 formed by sulfur attack to be excluded. The absence of sulfur attack in the six‐membered case is explained by the longer C? S bond bringing about greater bond angle strain at the tetrahedral ring atoms due to the geometrical characteristics of five‐ and six‐membered rings with planar segments. The cyclizations of amide 5 to iminopyrimidine 6 and to thiodihydrouracil 7 are first order in [H+], while the reactions of protonated imine 6 H+ are zero order to amide and ?1 to thiodihydrouracil. The reaction orders can be reconciled by assuming a rate determining proton transfer from the tetrahedral intermediate in amide cyclization. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Solvent, temperature, and high pressure influence on the rate constant of homo‐Diels–Alder cycloaddition reactions of the very active hetero‐dienophile, 4‐phenyl‐1,2,4‐triazolin‐3,5‐dione (1), with the very inactive unconjugated diene, bicyclo[2,2,1]hepta‐2,5‐diene (2), and of 1 with some substituted anthracenes have been studied. The rate constants change amounts to about seven orders of magnitude: from 3.95.10?3 for reaction (1+2) to 12200 L mol?1 s?1 for reaction of 1 with 9,10‐dimethylanthracene (4e) in toluene solution at 298 K. A comparison of the reactivity (ln k2) and the heat of reactions (?r‐nH) of maleic anhydride, tetracyanoethylene and of 1 with several dienes has been performed. The heat of reaction (1+2) is ?218 ± 2 kJ mol?1, of 1 with 9,10‐dimethylanthracene ?117.8 ± 0.7 kJ mol?1, and of 1 with 9,10‐dimethoxyanthracene ?91.6 ±0.2 kJ mol?1. From these data, it follows that the exothermicity of reaction (1+2) is higher than that with 1,3‐butadiene. However, the heat of reaction of 9,10‐dimethylanthracene with 1 (?117.8 kJ mol?1) is nearly the same as that found for the reaction with the structural C=C counterpart, N‐phenylmaleimide (?117.0 kJ mol?1). Since the energy of the N=N bond is considerably lower (418 kJ/bond) than that of the C=C bond (611 kJ/bond), it was proposed that this difference in the bond energy can generate a lower barrier of activation in the Diels–Alder cycloaddition reaction with 1. Linear correlation (R = 0.94) of the solvent effect on the rate constants of reaction (1+2) and on the heat of solution of 1 has been observed. The ratio of the volume of activation (?V) and the volume of reaction (?Vr‐n) of the homo‐Diels–Alder reaction (1+2) is considered as “normal”: ?V/?Vr‐n = ?25.1/?30.95 = 0.81. X‐ray diffraction (XRD) studies have shown that 2‐piperidyl‐5‐nitro‐6‐methylpyridine, C11H15N3O2, undergoes a structural phase transition at T = 240 K. The room temperature structure is tetragonal, space group I41/a, with the unit‐cell dimensions a = 13.993(2) and c = 23.585(5) Å. The pyridine ring takes trans conformation with respect to the piperidine unit. While pyridine is well ordered, the piperidine moiety shows apparent disorder resulting from a libration about the linking N C bond. The low‐temperature phase is monoclinic, space group I2/a. Contraction of the unit‐cell volume by 2.3% at 170 K enables the C H···O linkage between the molecules of the neighbouring stacks. As result, the asymmetric unit becomes bi‐molecular. The thermal librations of the piperidine and methyl groups become considerably reduced at 170 K and nearly fully reduced at about 100 K. The IR spectra and polarised Raman spectra agree with the X‐ray structure and confirm the disorder effect on the piperidine ring. The assignment of the bands observed was made on the basis of DFT chemical quantum calculations. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The gas‐phase elimination of 2‐methyl‐2‐propenal catalyzed by HCl yields propene and CO gas, while E‐2‐pentenal with the same catalyst gives butene and CO gas. The kinetics determinations were carried out in a static system with the reaction vessels deactivated with allyl bromide and the presence of the free radical inhibitor toluene. Temperature and pressure ranges were 350.0–410.0 °C and 34–76 Torr. The elimination reactions are homogeneous and unimolecular, and follow a first‐order rate law. The rate coefficients for the reactions are expressible by the following Arrhenius equations: Data from the kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of these catalyzed elimination reactions implies a mechanism of a concerted five‐membered cyclic transition state structure for the formation of the corresponding olefin and carbon monoxide. The rates of gas‐phase elimination of several β‐substituted diethyl acetals have been determined in a static system and seasoned with allyl bromide. The reactions, inhibited with toluene, are homogeneous, unimolecular, and follow first‐order law kinetics. These elimination processes involve two parallel reactions. The first parallel reaction yields ethanol and the corresponding ethyl vinyl ether. The latter product is an unstable intermediate and further decomposes to ethylene and the corresponding substituted aldehyde. The second parallel reaction gives ethane and the corresponding ethyl ester. The kinetics has been measured over the temperature range of 370–441 °C and pressure range of 23–160 torr. The rate coefficients are given by the following Arrhenius equations: The differences in the rates of ethanol formation may be attributed to electronic transmission of the β‐substituent. The comparative kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the parallel reactions suggest two different concerted polar four‐membered cyclic transition state types of mechanisms. The gas phase thermal decarbonylation of α,β‐unsaturated aldehydes E‐2‐butenal and E‐3‐phenyl‐2‐methylpropenal was studied in a static system over the temperature range 380.5–490.0 °C and pressure range 55.5–150 Torr. The reactions are homogeneous and unimolecular and obey a first‐order rate law. The rate coefficient is represented by the following Arrhenius equations: The elimination products of 2‐butenal are propene and CO gas, while 3‐phenyl‐2‐methylpropenal produces α‐methylstyrene, cistransβ‐methylstyrene, indan, and CO gas. Kinetic and thermodynamic parameters suggest these elimination reactions to proceed through a three‐membered cyclic transition state type of mechanisms. However, a two steps mechanisms for the formation of a carbene type of intermediate through a four‐membered cyclic transition structure can not be overlooked. The chlorination reactions of 2‐oxazolidinone with hypochlorous acid (HOCl), tert‐butyl hypochlorite (tBuOCl) and N‐chlorosuccinimide (NCS) were studied at 25 °C, constant ionic strength, and under isolation conditions. The kinetic results obtained in the formation processes of the N‐chloro‐2‐oxazolidinone are summarized in this paper. The kinetics studied showed a first order with respect to the concentration of the each reactant and a complex dependence of the pH on the rate constant. The reactivity order with respect to the chlorinating agent found is k(HOCl) > k(tBuOCl) > k(NCS). Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Early afterglows of N2‐H2, Ar‐N2‐H2 and Ar‐N2‐O2 flowing microwave discharges are characterized by optical emission spectroscopy. The N and O atoms and the N2 (A) metastable molecule densities are determined by optical emission spectroscopy after calibration by NO titration for N and O‐atoms and measurements of NO and N2 band intensities. If an uncertainty of 30% is estimated on N‐atomic density, an inaccuracy of one order of magnitude is obtained on the O and N2 (A) densities. In N2‐(0.05‐2.5%)H2 and Ar‐(1‐50%)N2‐(0.05‐2.5%) H2 gas mixtures, the O‐atoms are coming from O2 impurities in the discharge. Concentrations of N and O‐atoms and of N2 (A) densities are compared to the ones obtained in Ar‐(5‐50%)N2‐(0.2‐2.5%) O2 gas mixtures in which a controlled amount of O2 is added. Excitation wavelengths of 282.4, 273.9 (A band), 252.7, 239.5 and 228.7 nm (B band) resonance Raman spectra were acquired for di‐2‐pyridylketone, and density functional calculations were carried out to help in the elucidation of the photo relaxation dynamics of A‐band and B‐band electronic transitions. The resonance Raman spectra show that the intensity pattern of the A band presents great difference from that of the B band, which indicate that the short‐time A‐band (S0→S4) photo relaxation dynamics have substantial difference from that of B band (S0→S10) . The overall picture of short‐time dynamics and the vibronic coupling mechanisms are interpreted using Albrecht's theory. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Hydroxyl radical (?OH) damages DNA/RNA by attacking pyrimidine nucleobases through the addition reaction and H‐atom abstraction. It may attack on the new cytosine derivative (5‐formylCytosine [5‐fCyt]) causing DNA oxidative damage, whereas the study of the related mechanism is still in its infancy. In the present work, 2 distinct mechanisms of ?OH‐mediated 5‐fCyt at the complete basis set methods (CBS‐QB3) and CBS‐QB3/polarized continuum model approaches have firstly been explored, the addition reaction (paths R1 ~ R3) and the abstraction reaction (paths R4 ~ R6), respectively, and it shows that the addition of ?OH to the C5═C6 double bond of 5‐fCyt is more favourable than other reactions, indicating that the ?OH addition to the C5 and C6 atoms have relatively high probability to happen. The proportion of the C5 and C6 adducts is large and may be detectable experimentally, which is in agreement with the conclusions of ?OH‐mediated cytosine reaction reported experimentally and theoretically. These hint that the new DNA base (5‐fCyt) is easily damaged when exposed the surrounding of ?OH environment. Therefore, the reducing free radical production or the addition of some antioxidants should be taken in embryonic stem cells to resistance DNA damage. Our results provide some evidences between 5‐fCyt and tumor development for the experimental scientists.  相似文献

We investigated the photoamination kinetics of 1‐hydroxyanthraquinones in a water‐acetonitrile mixed solvent by stationary light irradiation. The progression of the reaction under an inert atmosphere demonstrated the existence of additional reaction pathways. The excited triplet state of the base form of the 1‐hydroxyanthraquinones was found to be responsible for the additional pathways. On the other hand, the same reaction under air involved an attack of the amine‐derived radical species (aminium and amino radicals) on the ground state of the 1‐hydroxyanthraquinones. One of the pathways preferentially led to 2‐amination, and the other led exclusively to 4‐amination. Results also indicate the attainment of an equilibrium state between the aminium and amino radicals. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Formation of propan‐2‐ol–acetonitrile dimers is manifested in the Raman spectra as an appearance of a band of aggregates in the high‐wavenumber side of the CN vibrational band of liquid acetonitrile (∼2 cm−1). The intensity of the band of aggregates changes with a change in the concentration of the mixture (1–0.05 mole fraction). For propan‐2‐ol we carried out nonempirical calculations of a structure of isolated dimer aggregates. The formation of an intramolecular H‐bond between the H and the O atom of the \newbox\osprulebox \newdimen\osprulewd \def\osprule#1#2{ \global\setbox\osprulebox=\hbox{#1} \osprulewd=\wd\osprulebox\advance\osprulewd by ‐8pt \raise0.5pc\hbox{$\matrix{\hskip‐1pt\lower6.5pt\hbox{\vrule height #2pt}\lower4.5pt\hbox to \osprulewd{\hrulefill}\lower6.5pt\hbox{\vrule height #2pt}\cr \noalign{\vskip‐1pt} \hbox{#1}\cr}$} } $\osprule{{\rm HCO}}{2.5} \hbox{H}$ group of length 2.045 Å is possible in the monomer molecule. The CH3 groups of alcohol are not equivalent. In the dimer formation, intramolecular H‐bond in the \newbox\osprulebox \newdimen\osprulewd \def\osprule#1#2{ \global\setbox\osprulebox=\hbox{#1} \osprulewd=\wd\osprulebox\advance\osprulewd by ‐8pt \raise0.5pc\hbox{$\matrix{\hskip‐1pt\lower6.5pt\hbox{\vrule height #2pt}\lower4.5pt\hbox to \osprulewd{\hrulefill}\lower6.5pt\hbox{\vrule height #2pt}\cr \noalign{\vskip‐1pt} \hbox{#1}\cr}$} } $\osprule{{\rm HCO}}{2.5} \hbox{H}$ group is preserved. An intermolecular H‐bond of length 2.045 Å and energy 15 kJ/mole is formed between the H atom of one molecule and the O atom of another molecule of the O H. The length and energy of the H‐bond for the propan‐2‐ol–acetonitrile dimer formations calculate to 2.27 Å and 12.9 kJ/mole, respectively. The H‐bond is formed by σ‐electrons of nitrogen. The experimental data and the results of calculations are in good agreement. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
