Novel and well‐defined pyrene‐containing eight‐arm star‐shaped dendrimer‐like copolymers were successfully achieved by combination of esterification, atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), divergent reaction, ring‐opening polymerization (ROP), and coupling reaction on the basis of pentaerythritol. The reaction of pentaerythritol with 2‐bromopropionyl bromide permitted ATRP of styrene (St) to form four‐arm star‐shaped polymer (PSt‐Br)4. The molecular weights of these polymers could be adjusted by the variation of monomer conversion. Eight‐hydroxyl star‐shaped polymer (PSt‐(OH)2)4 was produced by the divergent reaction of (PSt‐Br)4 with diethanolamine. (PSt‐(OH)2)4 was used as the initiator for ROP of ε‐caprolactone (CL) to produce eight‐arm star‐shaped dendrimer‐like copolymer (PSt‐b‐(PCL)2)4. The molecular weights of (PSt‐b‐(PCL)2)4 increased linearly with the increase of monomer. After the coupling reaction of hydroxyl‐terminated (PSt‐b‐(PCL)2)4 with 1‐pyrenebutyric acid, pyrene‐containing eight‐arm star‐shaped dendrimer‐like copolymer (PSt‐b‐(PCL‐pyrene)2)4 was obtained. The eight‐arm star‐shaped dendrimer‐like copolymers presented unique thermal properties and crystalline morphologies, which were different from those of linear poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL). Fluorescence analysis indicated that (PSt‐b‐(PCL‐pyrene)2)4 presented slightly stronger fluorescence intensity than 1‐pyrenebutyric acid when the pyrene concentration of them was the same. The obtained pyrene‐containing eight‐arm star‐shaped dendrimer‐like copolymer has potential applications in biological fluorescent probe, photodynamic therapy, and optoelectronic devices. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel and well‐defined dendrimer‐star, block‐comb polymers were successfully achieved by the combination of living ring‐opening polymerization and atom transfer radical polymerization on the basis of a dendrimer polyester. Star‐shaped dendrimer poly(?‐caprolactone)s were synthesized by the bulk polymerization of ?‐caprolactone with a dendrimer initiator and tin 2‐ethylhexanoate as a catalyst. The molecular weights of the dendrimer poly(?‐caprolactone)s increased linearly with an increase in the monomer. The dendrimer poly(?‐caprolactone)s were converted into macroinitiators via esterification with 2‐bromopropionyl bromide. The star‐block copolymer dendrimer poly(?‐caprolactone)‐block‐poly(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate) was obtained by the atom transfer radical polymerization of 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate. The molecular weights of these copolymers were adjusted by the variation of the monomer conversion. Then, dendrimer‐star, block‐comb copolymers were prepared with poly(L ‐lactide) blocks grafted from poly(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate) blocks by the ring‐opening polymerization of L ‐lactide. The unique and well‐defined structure of these copolymers presented thermal properties that were different from those of linear poly(?‐caprolactone). © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Well‐defined amphiphilic PCL‐b‐(PDMA)2 and (PCL)2‐b‐PDMA Y‐shaped miktoarm star copolymers and PCL‐b‐PDMA linear diblock copolymer were synthesized via a combination of ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), where PCL is poly (ε‐caprolactone) and PDMA is poly(2‐(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate). All of these three types of copolymers have comparable PCL contents and overall molecular weights. The PCL block is hydrophobic while the PDMA block is hydrophilic, and they behave like polymeric surfactants and self‐assemble into PCL‐core micelles in aqueous media. The chain architectural effects on the micellization properties, including the aggregation number, size, polydispersity, and micelle densities of (PCL29)2‐b‐PDMA45, PCL61‐b‐(PDMA24)2, and PCL56‐b‐PDMA49 in dilute aqueous solution, were then explored by dynamic and static laser light scattering (LLS). The intensity–average hydrodynamic radius, 〈Rh〉, the aggregation number per micelle, Nagg, and the core radius, Rcore, of the PCL‐core micelles all increased in the order PCL61‐b‐(PDMA24)2 < (PCL29)2‐b‐PDMA45 < PCL56‐b‐PDMA49. The surface area occupied per soluble PDMA block at the core/corona interface increased in the order PCL61‐b‐(PDMA24)2 < PCL56‐b‐PDMA49 < (PCL29)2‐b‐PDMA45. PCL61‐b‐(PDMA24)2 micelles had the largest overall micelle density, possibly because of that the presence of two soluble PDMA arms at the junction point favors the bending of the core–corona interface and thus the formation of densely‐packed core‐shell nanostructures. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel amphiphilic thermosensitive star copolymer with a hydrophobic hyperbranched poly (3‐ethyl‐3‐(hydroxymethyl)oxetane) (HBPO) core and many hydrophilic poly(2‐(dimethylamino) ethyl methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) arms was synthesized and used as the precursor for the aqueous solution self‐assembly. All the copolymers directly aggregated into core–shell unimolecular micelles (around 10 nm) and size‐controllable large multimolecular micelles (around 100 nm) in water at room temperature, according to pyrene probe fluorescence spectrometry and 1H NMR, TEM, and DLS measurements. The star copolymers also underwent sharp, thermosensitive phase transitions at a lower critical solution temperature (LCST), which were proved to be originated from the secondary aggregation of the large micelles driven by increasing hydrophobic interaction due to the dehydration of PDMAEMA shells on heating. A quantitative variable temperature NMR analysis method was designed by using potassium hydrogen phthalate as an external standard and displayed great potential to evaluate the LCST transition at the molecular level. The drug loading and temperature‐dependent release properties of HBPO‐star‐PDMAEMA micelles were also investigated by using indomethacin as a model drug. The indomethacin‐loaded micelles displayed a rapid drug release at a temperature around LCST. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 46: 668–681, 2008 相似文献

New Y‐shaped (AB2‐type) amphiphilic copolymers of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC), PEG‐b‐(PTMC)2, were successfully synthesized by the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of TMC with bishydroxy‐modified monomethoxy‐PEG (mPEG). First, a bishydroxy functional ROP initiator was synthesized by esterification of acryloyl bromide with mPEG, followed by Michael addition using excess diethanolamine. A series of Y‐shaped amphiphilic PEG‐(PTMC)2 block copolymers were obtained via ROP of TMC using this PEG with bishydroxyl end groups as macroinitiator and ZnEt2 as catalyst. The amphiphilic block copolymers with different compositions were characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and 1H NMR, and their molecular weight was measured by GPC. The results showed that the molecular weight of Y‐shaped copolymers increased with the increase of the molar ratio of TMC to mPEG‐(OH)2 initiator in feed while the PEG chain length was kept constant. The Y‐shaped copolymer mPEG‐(PTMC)2 could self‐assemble into micelles in aqueous medium and the critical micelle concentration values of the micelles decrease with increase in hydrophobic PTMC block length of mPEG‐(PTMC)2. The in vitro cytotoxicity and controlled drug release properties of the Y‐shaped amphiphilic block copolymers were also investigated. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The H‐shaped copolymers, [poly(L ‐lactide)]2polystyrene [poly(L ‐lactide)]2, [(PLLA)2PSt(PLLA)2] have been synthesized by combination of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) with cationic ring‐opening polymerization (CROP). The first step of the synthesis is ATRP of St using α,α′‐dibromo‐p‐xylene/CuBr/2,2′‐bipyridine as initiating system, and then the PSt with two bromine groups at both chain ends (Br–PSt–Br) were transformed to four terminal hydroxyl groups via the reaction of Br–PSt–Br with diethanolamine in N,N‐dimethylformamide. The H‐shaped copolymers were produced by CROP of LLA, using PSt with four terminal hydroxyl groups as macroinitiator and Sn(Oct)2 as catalyst. The copolymers obtained were characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 44: 2794–2801, 2006 相似文献

A series of well‐defined three‐arm star poly(ε‐caprolactone)‐b‐poly(acrylic acid) copolymers having different block lengths were synthesized via the combination of ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). First, three‐arm star poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) (Mn = 2490–7830 g mol?1; Mw/Mn = 1.19–1.24) were synthesized via ROP of ε‐caprolactone (ε‐CL) using tris(2‐hydroxyethyl)cynuric acid as three‐arm initiator and stannous octoate (Sn(Oct)2) as a catalyst. Subsequently, the three‐arm macroinitiator transformed from such PCL in high conversion initiated ATRPs of tert‐butyl acrylate (tBuA) to construct three‐arm star PCL‐b‐PtBuA copolymers (Mn = 10,900–19,570 g mol?1; Mw/Mn = 1.14–1.23). Finally, the three‐arm star PCL‐b‐PAA copolymer was obtained via the hydrolysis of the PtBuA segment in three‐arm star PCL‐b‐PtBuA copolymers. The chain structures of all the polymers were characterized by gel permeation chromatography, proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The aggregates of three‐arm star PCL‐b‐PAA copolymer were studied by the determination of critical micelles concentration and transmission electron microscope. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The self‐assembling nature and phase‐transition behavior of a novel class of triarm, star‐shaped polymer–peptide block copolymers synthesized by the combination of atom transfer radical polymerization and living ring‐opening polymerization of α‐amino acid‐N‐carboxyanhydride are demonstrated. The two‐step synthesis strategy adopted here allows incorporating polypeptides into the usual synthetic polymers via an amido–amidate nickelacycle intermediate, which is used as the macroinitiator for the growth of poly(γ‐benzyl‐L ‐glutamate). The characterization data are reported from analyses using gel permeation chromatography and infrared, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. This synthetic scheme grants a facile way to prepare a wide range of polymer–peptide architectures with perfect microstructure control, preventing the formation of homopolypeptide contaminants. Studies regarding the supramolecular organization and phase‐transition behavior of this class of polymer‐block‐polypeptide copolymers have been accomplished with X‐ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and thermal analyses. The conformational change of the peptide segment in the block copolymer has been investigated with variable‐temperature infrared spectroscopy. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Biodegradable amphiphilic ABC Y‐shaped triblock copolymer (MPBC) containing PEG, PBLA, and PCL segments was synthesized via the combination of enzymatic ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of epsilon‐caprolactone, ROP of BLA‐N‐carboxyanhydride and click chemistry, where PEG, PBLA, and PCL are poly(ethylene glycol), poly(benzyl‐l ‐aspartate), and polycaprolactone, respectively. Propynylamine was employed as ROP initiator for the preparation of alkynyl‐terminated PBLA and methyloxy‐PEG with hydroxyl and azide groups at the chain‐end was used as enzymatic ROP initiator for synthesis of monoazido‐midfunctionalized block copolymer mPEG‐b‐PCL. The subsequent click reaction led to the formation of Y‐shaped asymmetric heteroarm terpolymer MPBC. The polymer structures were characterized by different analyses. The MPBC terpolymer self‐assembled into micelles and physically encapsulated drug doxorubicin (DOX) to form DOX‐loaded micelles, which showed good stability and slow drug release. In vitro cytotoxicity study indicated that the MPBC micelles were nontoxic and the DOX‐loaded micelles displayed obvious anticancer activity similar to free DOX against HeLa cells. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A Y‐shaped diblock copolymer with a functional block poly(glycidyl methacrylate) was synthesized via the combination of enzymatic ring‐opening polymerization (eROP) and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The synthetic procedure involved eROP of ε‐caprolactone (ε‐CL) in the presence of biocatalyst Novozyme 435 and initiator 1H,1H,2H,2H‐perfluoro‐1‐octaoxy, subsequently the resulting poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) was converted to a macroinitiator by esterification of it with 2,2‐dichloro acetyl chloride, and finally the ATRP of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) was conducted at 60 °C with CuCl/2,2′‐bipyridine as the catalyst system. By this process, we obtained copolymers with a controlled molecular weight and a low polydispersity. The structure and composition of the obtained polymers were characterized by H NMR, GPC, and IR. Linear first‐order kinetics, linearly increased molecular weight with conversion, and low polydispersities were observed for the ATRP of GMA. The thermal properties of the copolymer were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry. The self‐assembly behavior of the Y‐shaped block copolymer was also investigated in different solvents and at different concentrations. The aggregates of various morphologies (spheres, worm‐like patterns, nanowell patterns, and dendritic patterns) were observed. It was found that solvents remarkably influenced the morphologies of the films spin‐coated from the corresponding solutions. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Ethyl cellulose graft poly(poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate) (EC‐g‐P(PEGMA)) amphiphilic copolymers were synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, and gel permeation chromatography. Reaction kinetics analysis indicated that the graft copolymerization is living and controllable. The self‐assembly and thermosensitive property of the obtained EC‐g‐P(PEGMA) amphiphilic copolymers in water were investigated by dynamic light scattering, transmission electron microscopy, and transmittance. It was found that the EC‐g‐P(PEGMA) amphiphilic copolymers can self‐assemble into spherical micelles in water. The size of the micelles increases with the increase of the side chain length. The spherical micelles show thermosensitive properties with a lower critical solution temperature around 65 °C, which almost independent on the graft density and the length of the side chains. The obtained EC‐g‐P(PEGMA) graft copolymers have both the unique properties of poly(ethylene glycol) and cellulose, which may have the potential applications in biomedicine and biotechnology. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A double‐responsive amphiphilic random copolymer (P(OEtOxA)‐ran‐PNBA) composed of thermoresponsive poly(oligo(2‐ethyl‐2‐oxazoline)acrylate) (P(OEtOxA)) segments and photocleavable poly(2‐nitrobenzyl acrylate) (PNBA) segments is synthesized via combination of cationic ring‐opening polymerization (CROP) and reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization techniques. The P(OEtOxA)‐ran‐PNBA copolymer exhibits lower critical solution (LCST)‐type soluble‐to‐turbid phase transition in water with tunable cloud point (Tcp) with respect to chain length of P(OEtOxA) segment present. The photocleavage of PNBA segments by UV irradiation transforms amphiphilic P(OEtOxA)‐ran‐PNBA to fully hydrophilic P(OEtOxA)‐ran‐poly(acrylic acid) resulting in the appreciable increase of Tcp of copolymer in aqueous solution. Owing to the amphiphilic nature, the P(OEtOxA)‐ran‐PNBA copolymer molecules self‐assemble into well‐dispersed spherical micelles in water. There is a disruption of the copolymer micelles with UV light irradiation as well as shrinkage of micellar size with increasing temperature above the LCST of copolymer in solution. Finally, the encapsulation of hydrophobic guest molecule (nile red) into P(OEtOxA)‐ran‐PNBA copolymer micelles and thermo‐ and photo‐triggered release of nile red are demonstrated. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of amphiphilic conetworks (APCNs) is synthesized through crosslinking of well‐defined tri‐arm star diblock copolymers via atom transfer radical polymerization. A new three‐arm initiator is synthesized to initiate the polymerization of 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) via “core‐first” method. The resulting star HEMA homopolymers with well‐defined molecular weight and narrow polydispersity are used as macroinitiator to incorporate allyl methacrylate to get the star diblock copolymers. Then, the precursors with allyl pendant groups are fully crosslinked with polyhydrosiloxanes through hydrosilylation. The so‐prepared APCNs exhibit unique properties of microphase separation of hydrophilic (HI) and hydrophobic (HO) phases with small channel size, a variable swelling capacity, excellent biocompatibility, and outstanding mechanical strength (2 ± 0.5 MPa). The properties of APCNs depend on the ratio of HI to HO, which can be regulated via precise synthesis of the star diblock copolymers. The APCNs show well‐controlled drug release to choline theophyllinate, suggesting a promising intelligent drug carrier for controlled release. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Novel amphiphilic star‐block copolymers, star poly(caprolactone)‐block‐poly[(2‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate] and poly(caprolactone)‐block‐poly(methacrylic acid), with hyperbranched poly(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA–OH) as a core moiety were synthesized and characterized. The star‐block copolymers were prepared by a combination of ring‐opening polymerization and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). First, hyperbranched PHEMA–OH with 18 hydroxyl end groups on average was used as an initiator for the ring‐opening polymerization of ε‐caprolactone to produce PHEMA–PCL star homopolymers [PHEMA = poly(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate); PCL = poly(caprolactone)]. Next, the hydroxyl end groups of PHEMA–PCL were converted to 2‐bromoesters, and this gave rise to macroinitiator PHEMA–PCL–Br for ATRP. Then, 2‐dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate or tert‐butyl methacrylate was polymerized from the macroinitiators, and this afforded the star‐block copolymers PHEMA–PCL–PDMA [PDMA = poly(2‐dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate)] and PHEMA–PCL–PtBMA [PtBMA = poly(tert‐butyl methacrylate)]. Characterization by gel permeation chromatography and nuclear magnetic resonance confirmed the expected molecular structure. The hydrolysis of tert‐butyl ester groups of the poly(tert‐butyl methacrylate) blocks gave the star‐block copolymer PHEMA–PCL–PMAA [PMAA = poly(methacrylic acid)]. These amphiphilic star‐block copolymers could self‐assemble into spherical micelles, as characterized by dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The block glycopolymer, poly(2‐(α‐d ‐mannopyranosyloxy)ethyl methacrylate)‐b‐poly(l ‐lactide) (PManEMA‐b‐PLLA), was synthesized via a coupling approach. PLLA having an ethynyl group was successfully synthesized via ring‐opening polymerization using 2‐propyn‐1‐ol as an initiator. The ethynyl functionality of the resulting polymer was confirmed by MALDI‐TOF mass spectroscopy. In contrast, PManEMA having an azide group was prepared via AGET ATRP using 2‐azidopropyl 2‐bromo‐2‐methylpropanoate as an initiator. The azide functionality of the resulting polymer was confirmed by IR spectroscopy. The Cu(I)‐catalyzed 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition between PLLA and PManEMA was performed to afford PManEMA‐b‐PLLA. The block structure was confirmed by 1H NMR spectroscopy and size exclusion chromatography. The aggregating properties of the block glycopolymer, PManEMA16k‐b‐PLLA6.4k (M n,PManEMA = 16,000, M n,PLLA = 6400) was examined by 1H NMR spectroscopy, fluorometry using pyrene, and dynamic light scattering. A series of poly(styrene‐block‐tert‐butyl acrylate) heteroatom star block copolymers having various block lengths were prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), using an “as synthesized” cynurate modified trifunctional initiator. The structure of the star polymers was confirmed by the characterization of the individual arms resulting from hydrolysis. Amphiphilic poly(styrene‐block‐acrylic acid) star copolymers were further synthesized by hydrolyzing PtBA blocks using anhydrous trifluoroacetic acid. The characterization data are reported from analyses using gel permeation chromatography, infrared, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies. The stable micelle solution was prepared by dialyzing the solution of these polymers in N,N‐dimethylformamide against deionized water. The temperature‐induced associating behavior of these amphiphilic star polymers were studied using dynamic laser light scattering spectroscopy. The hydrodynamic diameter of both micelles and unassociated chains were obtained in the same solution using light scattering cumulant's calculation method. The homogeneity and the size distribution of the micelle population in the solution were determined using centrifuge/sedimentation particle size distribution analyzer. Field emission scanning electron microscope was used to visualize the size of the micelles formed and the micellar aggregates. The influence of the temperature on the viscosity of the micelle solution was studied using an Ubbelohde viscometer. Using core‐first strategy, the amphiphilic A4B4 star‐shaped copolymers [poly(ethylene oxide)]4[poly(ε‐caprolactone)]4 [(PEO)4(PCL)4], [poly(ethylene oxide)]4[poly(styrene)]4 [(PEO)4(PS)4], and [poly(ethylene oxide)]4[poly(tert‐butyl acrylate)]4 [(PEO)4(PtBA)4] were synthesized by mechanisms transformation combining with thiol‐ene reaction. First, using a designed multifunctional mikto‐initiator with four active hydroxyl groups and four allyl groups, the four‐armed star‐shaped polymers (PEO‐Ph)4/(OH)4 with four active hydroxyl groups at core position were obtained by sequential ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of ethylene oxide monomers, capping reaction of living oxyanion with benzyl chloride, and transformation of allyl groups into hydroxyl groups by thiol‐ene reaction. Then, the A4B4 star‐shaped copolymers (PEO)4(PS)4 or (PEO)4(PtBA)4 were obtained by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of styrene or tert‐butyl acrylate (tBA) monomers from macroinitiator of (PEO‐Ph)4/(Br)4, which was obtained by esterification of (PEO‐Ph)4/(OH)4 with 2‐bromoisobutyryl bromide. The A4B4 star‐shaped copolymers (PEO)4(PCL)4 were also obtained by ROP of ε‐caprolactopne monomers from macroinitiator of (PEO‐Ph)4/(OH)4. The target copolymers and intermediates were characterized by size‐exclusion chromatography, matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectroscopy, and nuclear magnetic resonance in detail. Novel amphiphilic A14B7 multimiktoarm star copolymers composed of 14 poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) arms and 7 poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) arms with β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD) as core moiety were synthesized by the combination of controlled ring‐opening polymerization (CROP) and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). 14‐Arm star PCL homopolymers (CDSi‐SPCL) were first synthesized by the CROP of CL using per‐6‐(tert‐butyldimethylsilyl)‐β‐CD as the multifunctional initiator in the presence of Sn(Oct)2 at 125 °C. Subsequently, the hydroxyl end groups of CDSi‐SPCL were blocked by acetyl chloride. After desilylation of the tert‐butyldimethylsilyl ether groups from the β‐CD core, 7 ATRP initiating sites were introduced by treating with 2‐bromoisobutyryl bromide, which further initiated ATRP of tert‐butyl acrylate (tBA) to prepare well‐defined A14B7 multimiktoarm star copolymers [CDS(PCL‐PtBA)]. Their molecular structures and physical properties were in detail characterized by 1H NMR, SEC‐MALLS, and DSC. The novel trifunctional initiator, 1‐(4‐methyleneoxy‐2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpip‐eridinoxyl)‐3,5‐bi(bromomethyl)‐2,4,6‐trimethylbenzene (TEMPO‐2Br), was successfully synthesized and used to prepare the miktoarm star amphiphilic poly(styrene)‐(poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide))2 (PS(PNIPAAM)2) via combination of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and nitroxide‐mediated radical polymerization (NMRP) techniques. Furthermore, the star amphiphilic block copolymer, poly (styrene)‐(poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide‐b‐4‐vinylpyridine))2 (PS(PNIPAAM‐b‐P4VP)2), was also prepared using PS(PNIPAAM)2 as the macroinitiator and 4‐vinylpyridine as the second monomer by ATRP method. The obtained polymers were well‐defined with narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn ≤ 1.29). Meanwhile, the self‐assembly behaviors of the miktoarm amphiphilic block copolymers, PS(PNIPAAM)2 and PS(PNIPAAM‐b‐P4VP)2, were also investigated. Interestingly, the aggregate morphology changed from sphere‐shaped micelles (4.7 < pH < 3.0) to a mixture of spheres and rods (1.0 < pH < 3.0), and rod‐shaped nanorods formed when pH value was below 1.0. The LCST of PS(PNIPAAM)2 (pH = 7) was about 31 °C and the LCST of PS(PNIPAAM‐b‐P4VP)2 was about 35 °C (pH = 3). © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 47: 6304–6315, 2009 相似文献
