A quasisteady Stefan problem with curvature correction and kinetic undercooling is considered. It is a problem with phase transition, in which not only the Stefan condition, but also the curvature correction and kinetic undercooling effect hold on the free boundary, and in phase regions elliptic equations are satisfied by the unknown temperature at each time. The existence and uniqueness of a local classical solution of this problem are obtained.  相似文献

Both one-dimensional two-phase Stefan problem with the thermodynamic equilibrium condition u(R(t),t)=0 and with the kinetic rule uε(Rε(t),t)=εRε′(t) at the moving boundary are considered. We prove, when ε approaches zero, Rε(t) converges to R(t) in C1+δ/2[0,T] for any finite T>0, 0<δ<1.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the time dependent Stefan problem with convection in the fluid phase governed by the Navier-Stokes equation and with adherence of the fluid on the lateral boundaries. The existence of a weak solution is obtained via the introduction of a temperature dependent penalty term in the fluid flow equation, together with the application of various compactness arguments.  相似文献

A two-phase Stefan problem with the heat flux boundary conditions, including an unknown function f, is considered. The existence, uniqueness, and continuous dependence upon the initial data of the solution (f, s, u_1, u_2) are proved.  相似文献

The continuous casting Stefan problem is a mathematical model describing the solidification with convection of a material being cast continuously with a prescribed velocity. We propose a practical piecewise linear finite element scheme motivated by the characteristic finite element method and derive an error estimate for the scheme which is of the same convergence order as that proved for Stefan problem without convection.  相似文献

This paper deals with the degenerate Stefan problem with Joule's heating, which describes the combined effects of heat and electrical current Rows in a metal. The local existence of a bounded weak solution for the problem in proved. Also a degenerate thermistor problem with continuous conductivity is considered.  相似文献

Abstract

We study a novel two-sided Stefan problem—motivated by the study of certain 2D interfaces—in which boundaries at both sides of the sample encroach into the bulk with rate equal to the boundary value of the gradient. Here the density is in [0, 1] and takes the two extreme values at the two free boundaries. It is noted that the problem is borderline ill-posed: densities in excess of unity liable to cause catastrophic behavior. We provide a general proof of existence and uniqueness for these systems under the condition that the initial data is in [0, 1] and with some mild conditions near the boundaries. Applications to 2D shapes are provided, in particular motion by weighted mean curvature for the relevant interfaces is established.  相似文献

We introduce a notion of viscosity solutions for the two-phase Stefan problem, which incorporates possible existence of a mushy region generated by the initial data. We show that a comparison principle holds between viscosity solutions, and investigate the coincidence of the viscosity solutions and the weak solutions defined via integration by parts. In particular, in the absence of initial mushy region, viscosity solution is the unique weak solution with the same boundary data.  相似文献

We study the behavior of solutions of the modified Stefan problem in the plane for polygonal interfaces. We are particularly interested in a solution near a singularity of either the loss of a facet or the breaking of a facet. We establish precise regularity results if a facet disappears. We use them to establish the existence of a weak solution with singular data, i.e., when some of the zero-crystalline-curvature facets have zero length.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the Stefan problem with surface tension and kinetic undercooling effects, that is with the temperature u satisfying the condition u = -σK - εV_n on the interface Γ_t, σ, ε = const. ≥ 0 where K and V_n are the mean curvature and the normal velocity of Γ_t, respectively. In any of the following situations: (1) σ > 0 fixed, ε > 0, (2) σ = ε → 0; (3) σ → 0, ε = 0, we shall prove the convergence of the corresponding local (in time) classical solution of the Stefan problem.  相似文献

This paper considers a boundary integral formulation of the Stefan problem for two spatial dimensions. This formulation has the advantage that its numerical implementation does not require the discretization of the Stefan condition. Furthermore, the formulation is capable of solving problems with complex boundaries. Several illustrative examples are given.  相似文献

We prove the existence and uniqueness, local in time, of the solution of a one-phase Stefan problem for a non-classical heat equation for a semi-infinite material with a convective boundary condition at the fixed face x = 0. Here the heat source depends on the temperature at the fixed face x = 0 that provides a heating or cooling effect depending on the properties of the source term. We use the Friedman-Rubinstein integral representation method and the Banach contraction theorem in order to solve an equivalent system of two Volterra integral equations. We also obtain a comparison result of the solution (the temperature and the free boundary) with respect to the one corresponding with null source term.  相似文献

In this paper, a classical Stefan problem with a prescribed and small time-dependent temperature at the boundary is studied. By using a multiple time-scales perturbation method, it is shown analytically how the moving boundary profile is influenced by the prescribed temperature at the boundary and the initial conditions. Only a few exact solutions are available for this type of problems and it turns out that the constructed approximations agree very well with these exact solutions. In particular, approximations of solutions for this type of problems, with periodic and decaying temperatures at the boundary, are constructed. Furthermore, these approximations are valid on a long time scale, and seems to be not available in the literature.  相似文献

We consider the bidimensional stationary Stefan problem with convection. The problem is governed by a coupled system involving a non‐linear Darcy's law and the energy balance equation with second member in L1. We prove existence of at least one weak solution of the problem, using the penalty method and the Schauder fixed point principle. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
