Firstly, the Riemann boundary value problem for a kind of degenerate elliptic system of the first order equations in R~4 is proposed. Then, with the help of the one-to-one correspondence between the theory of Clifford valued generalized regular functions and that of the degenerate elliptic system's solution, the boundary value problem as stated above is transformed into a boundary value problem related to the generalized regular functions in Clifford analysis. Moreover, the solution of the Riemann boundary value problem for the degenerate elliptic system is explicitly described by using a kind of singular integral operator. Finally, the conditions for the existence of solutions of the oblique derivative problem for another kind of degenerate elliptic system of the first order equations in R~4 are derived.  相似文献

A quasilinear boundary-value problem is considered for a degenerate parabolic pseudodifferential equation in a Sobolev space. By the Laplace transformation, this problem is reduced to a boundary-value problem for a degenerate elliptic equation with a parameter. The latter problem is studied with the help of Vishik–Grushin methods and the Rothe theorem. The approach proposed differs from those previously used in relation to similar problems.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new Dantzig–Wolfe decomposition for degenerate linear programs with the non degenerate constraints in the master problem and the degenerate ones in the subproblem. We propose three algorithms. The first one, where some set of variables of the original problem are added to the master problem, corresponds to the Improved Primal Simplex algorithm (IPS) presented recently by Elhallaoui et al. [7]. In the second one, some extreme points of the subproblem are added as columns in the master problem. The third algorithm is a mixed implementation that adds some original variables and some extreme points of a subproblem to the master problem. Experimental results on some degenerate instances show that the proposed algorithms yield computational times that are reduced by an average factor ranging from 3.32 to 13.16 compared to the primal simplex of CPLEX.  相似文献

Many degenerate diffusion–reaction equations permit sharp travelling wave solutions that describe the propagation of an interface with finite speed. If the equation is at least double degenerate, the derivative of the travelling wave solution can blow up at the interface, which poses considerable challenges for the computation of the travelling wave speed. We propose a numerical method for this problem that is based on the idea to approximate the multiple degenerate problem by a family of simple degenerate problems. For the latter we propose an interval-bracketing algorithm based on the theory of Sanchez-Garduno and Maini. The travelling wave speed of the original problem is obtained as the limit of the travelling wave speeds of the auxiliary problems. The performance of the method is investigated in a numerical simulation experiment for a problem that arises in the mathematical modelling of biofilm processes.  相似文献

This paper is addressed to a study of the persistent regional null controllability problems for one‐dimensional linear degenerate wave equations through a distributed controller. Different from non‐degenerate wave equations, the classical null controllability results do not hold for some degenerate wave equations. Thus, persistent regional null controllability is introduced, which means finding a control such that the corresponding state of the degenerate wave equation may vanish in a suitable subset of the space domain in a period of time. In order to solve this problem, we need to establish the regional null controllability for degenerate wave equations. This problem is reduced to a suitable observability problem of a linear degenerate wave equation. The key point is to choose a suitable multiplier in order to establish this observability inequality. We first give the formulation of the problem and estimates of solutions of the problem, and then prove the existence of solutions of the above problem for elliptic equations by the above estimates and the method of parameter extension. We study the Cauchy problem for an equation whose generating operator is degenerate on some subset of the coordinate space. To approximate a solution of the degenerate problem by solutions of well-posed problems, we define a class of regularizations of the degenerate operator in terms of conditions on the spectral properties of approximating operators. We show that the behavior (convergence, compactness, and the set of partial limits in some topology) of the sequence of solutions of regularized problems is determined by the deficiency indices of the degenerate operator. We define an approximative solution of the degenerate problem as the limit of the sequence of solutions of regularized problems and analyze the dependence of the approximative solution on the choice of an admissible regularization.  相似文献

The Busemann-equation is a classical equation coming from fluid dynamics. The well-posed problem and regularity of solution of Busemann-equation with nonlinear term are interesting and important. The Busemann-equation is elliptic in y>0 and is degenerate at the line y=0 in R2. With a special nonlinear absorb term, we study a nonlinear degenerate elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions in a piecewise smooth domain. By means of elliptic regularization technique, a delicate prior estimate and compact argument, we show that the solution of mixed boundary value problem of Busemann-equation is smooth in the interior and Lipschitz continuous up to the degenerate boundary on some conditions. The result is better than the result of classical boundary degenerate elliptic equation.  相似文献

In [1]–[6], the author posed and discussed the Tricomi problem of second order mixed equations, but he only consider some special mixed equations. In [3], the author discussed the uniqueness of solutions of the Tricomi problem for some second order mixed equation with nonsmooth degenerate line. The present paper deals with the Tricomi problem for general second order mixed equations with degenerate curve on the sides of an angle. I first give the formulation of the above problem, and then prove the solvability of the Tricomi problem for the mixed equations with degenerate curve on the sides of an angle, by using the existence of solutions of the mixed problem for the degenerate elliptic equations (see [11]). Here I mention that the used method in this paper is different to those in other papers or books, because I introduce the new notation (2.1) below, such that the second order equation of mixed type can be reduced to the first order complex equation of mixed type with singular coefficients, hence I can use the advantage of complex analytic method. We study well-posedness of degenerate Cauchy problems treated as Cauchy problems for a differential inclusion with a multivalued linear operator. Using a new approach to the definition of degenerate integrated semigroups and their generators in a Banach space, we obtain a well-posedness criterion for the problem. Moreover, we consider the Cauchy problem for a differential inclusion in the space of abstract distributions and give necessary and sufficient conditions for well-posedness in the distribution space.  相似文献

This paper studies the degenerate scale problem arising from multiple rigid lines in plane elasticity. In the first step, the problem should be formulated on a degenerate scale by distribution of body force densities along rigid lines. The condition of vanishing displacement along lines is also assumed. The coordinate transform with a reduced factor “h” is performed in the next step. The new obtained BIE is a particular non-homogenous BIE defined in the transformed coordinates with normal scale. In the normal scale, the integral operator is invertible. By using two fundamental solutions that are formulated in the normal scale, the new obtained BIE can be reduced to an equation for finding the factor “h”. Finally, the degenerate scale is obtained. It is proved from computed results that the degenerate scale only depends on the configuration of rigid lines, and does not depend on the initial normal scale used. In addition, the degenerate scale is invariant with respect to the rotation of rigid lines. Many examples are carried out.  相似文献

We show that the problem of exiting a degenerate vertex is as hard as the general linear programming problem. More precisely, every linear programming problem can easily be reduced to one where the second best vertex (which is highly degenerate) is already given. This paper deals with a nonlinear degenerate parabolic system with nonlocal source and nonlocal boundaries. By super-solution, sub-solution and auxiliary functions, a criteria for nonnegative solution of global existence and blow-up in finite time is obtained for this degenerate nonlocal problem.
