A scaling law is derived which gives the rate of ablation of a frozen hydrogen pellet immersed in a plasma without the presence of a magnetic field or space charge. Plasma particles penetrate the ablating gas-plasma cloud to the evaporating pellet surface and deliver power to the cloud to drive its expansion. The evaporation rate is determined by a "self-regulating" mechanism. The ablation time is shown to be proportional to a5/3?o-2/3?o-1/3 where a is the pellet radius, ?o is the effective penetration depth of the incident particle into solid hydrogen and ?o is the power flux density of the incident particles. It is found that for ablation in a thermonuclear plasma, the alpha particles significantly affect the ablation rate. For thermonuclear plasma electrons and alpha particles, the energy required to ablate one molecule is shown to be of the order of 10 eV or less. The scaling law is applied to presently available experimental results, and reasonable agreement is found. 相似文献

We present a Monte Carlo study of the high-temperature phase of the two-dimensional driven lattice gas at infinite driving field. We define a finite-volume correlation length, verify that this definition has a good infinite-volume limit independent of the lattice geometry, and study its finite-size-scaling behavior. The results for the correlation length are in good agreement with the predictions based on the field theory proposed by Janssen, Schmittmann, Leung, and Cardy. The theoretical predictions for the susceptibility and the magnetization are also well verified. We show that the transverse Binder parameter vanishes at the critical point in all dimensions $d \geqslant 2$ and discuss how such result should be expected in the theory of Janssen et al. in spite of the existence of a dangerously irrelevant operator. Our results confirm the Gaussian nature of the transverse excitations. 相似文献

Interaction of vortex rings with solid is an important research
topic of hydrodynamic. In this study, a multiple-relaxation time
(MRT) lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is used to investigate the flow
of a vortex ring impacting spheroidal particles. The MRT-LBM is
validated through the cases of vortex ring impacting a flat wall.
The vortex evolution due to particle size, the aspect ratio of a
prolate particle, as well as Reynolds $(Re)$ number are discussed in
detail. When the vortex ring impacting a stationary sphere, the
primary and secondary vortex rings wrap around each other,
which is different from the situation of the vortex ring
impacting a plate. For the vortex ring impacting with a prolate
spheroid, the secondary vortex ring stretches mainly along the long
axis of the ellipsoid particle. However, it is found that after the
vortex wrapping stage, the primary vortex recovers along the short
axis of the particle faster than that in the long axis,
i.e., the primary vortex ring stretches mainly along the short axis
of the particle. That has never been addressed in the literature. 相似文献

The results of a numerical simulation of heavy ion beam motion in a multiturn mass-spectrometer are presented. It consists
of a magnet system with an azimuthal variation of magnetic field, two dees and an open type arc discharge ion source. The
calculations have shown that the mass resolution of ion beams is above 104.

动力学孔径对环形加速器, 尤其是现代的储存环, 起着越来越重要的作用。采用MAD程序研究了兰州重离子加速器实验环(CSRe)的动力学孔径。通过对比几种情况下的模拟结果, 发现六极铁和二极铁的高阶场对束流的动力学孔径影响较大, 使CSRe的动力学孔径减小, 但减小后的动力学孔径也远大于该环的物理孔径。因此, 束流可以长期、 稳定的存在。Dynamic aperture(DA) is playing a more and more important role in circular accelerators, especially in the modern storage rings. In this paper, the DA of CSRe is analyzed by MAD program. Comparing the DA under various assumptions, we find that the multipole errors in dipoles or quadrupoles, and the sextupoles which bring strong non linearities, and limit the DA of CSRe. Fortunately, the DA is larger than the physical aperture in all the cases, and that is large enough to satisfy the high precision physical experimental request. 相似文献

motion known as integrated super-Brownian excursion (ISE), as conjectured by Aldous. The same is true for nearest-neighbour
