Liquid–liquid equilibria of systems water (A) + CiEj surfactant (B) + n-alkane (C) have been modeled by a mass-action law model previously developed and so far successfully applied to a series of binary water + CiEj systems and to the ternary system water + C4E1 + n-dodecane. These calculations provide the basis for the presented modeling. The aqueous systems give information about the association constants and the χAB-parameter of the Flory–Huggins theory and the ternary C4E1-system provides universal temperature functions for the χAC- and the χBC-parameter. The three-phase equilibrium for seven ternary CiEj systems (i = 6–12, j = 3–6) has been calculated by fitting one additional parameter for each of both temperature functions to the characteristic “fish-tail” point. The agreement with the experimental data is reasonably well. For systems with very small three-phase areas the results can considerably be improved by individual temperature functions that incorporate the experimental temperature maximum of the “fish” into the parameter fit. Based on the parameters of the system water + C8E4 + n-C8H18 the “fish-shaped” phase diagram of the system water + C8E4 + n-C14H30 was predicted reasonably well.  相似文献

The reactions of a series of 5-alkyl-2-thiophenedithiocarboxylates with nickel(II) chloride afforded two types of complexes, blue nickel(II) complexes with two terminal dithiocarboxylate ligands, [Ni(S2CTR)2] and violet nickel(II) complexes with perthio- and dithiocarboxylate ligands, [Ni(S2CTR)(S3CTR)] (where T = 2,5-disubstituted thiophene, R = CnH2n+1, n = 4, 6, 8, 12, 16). The blue monomers are preferred for the shorter chains (C4 and C6) and the violet compounds form exclusively for the longer chains (C8, C12, and C16) in the alkylthiophene complexes. In addition to the above series, [Ni(S2CTCH3)2], was prepared in a one-pot reaction in THF and both the blue and violet products were isolated. It was possible to convert the blue complexes [Ni(S2CTR)2] (R = butyl, hexyl) into the corresponding violet complexes [Ni(S2CTR)(S3CTR)] after stirring in THF solutions for prolonged periods of time. Liquid-crystalline properties of these complexes were examined by DSC and POM. The violet complexes with C8 and C12 alkyl chains showed liquid-crystalline properties.  相似文献

Microcalorimetric measurements of excess enthalpies at the temperature T = 298.15 K are reported for the binary mixture, (x1C6H12 + x2C4H8O) and the two ternary mixtures {x1C6H12 + x2(C4H8O or C5H10O) + x3(C5H12O)}. Smooth representations of the results are presented and used to construct constant excess molar enthalpy contours on Roozeboom diagrams. It is shown that good estimates of the ternary enthalpies can be obtained from the Liebermann and Fried model, using only the physical properties of the components and their binary mixtures.  相似文献

Tie-line data for the water, ethanol, and cyclohexane [{w1H2O + w2C2H5OH + (1−w1w2)C6H12}] ternary system, where w is the mass fraction, was investigated at T=303.15 K. A quaternary system containing these three compounds and benzene {w1C2H5OH + w2C6H6 + w3C6H12 + (1−w1w2w3)H2O} was also studied at the same temperature, while data on its other two partially miscible ternary systems were taken from the literature [the fourth {w1C2H5OH + w2C6H6 + (1−w1w2)C6H12} is not partially miscible]. From our experimental results we conclude that this quaternary system presents a very small water tolerance and that phase separation could produce a considerable loss of C2H5OH drawn into the aqueous phase. On the other hand, the results also show that the aqueous phase generally contains a higher concentration of C6H6 than of C6H12. A comparison with other similar quaternary systems investigated in our laboratory was also made. The ternary experimental results were correlated with the UNIQUAC equation, and predicted with the UNIFAC group contribution method. As previously, the equilibrium data of the three ternary systems (including those taken from the literature) were used to determine interaction parameters for the UNIQUAC equation. These parameters were then averaged in order to predict equilibrium data of this quaternary system. The UNIFAC method was also used with the same purpose. The UNIQUAC equation appears to be more accurate than the UNIFAC method for this ternary system. However, this last model is slightly better for the quaternary system, as can be seen from the values of both residuals.  相似文献

A size separation method was developed for aqueous C60 fullerene aggregates (aqu/C60) using asymmetric flow field flow fractionation (AF4) coupled to a dynamic light scattering detector in flow through mode. Surfactants, which are commonly used in AF4, were avoided as they may alter suspension characteristics. Aqu/C60 aggregates generated by sonication in deionized water ranged in size from 80 to 260 nm in hydrodynamic diameter (Dh) as determined by DLS in flow through mode, which was corroborated by analysis of fractions by DLS in batch mode and by TEM. The mass of C60 in each fraction was determined by LC–APPI–MS. Only 5.2 ± 6.7% of the total aqu/C60 mass had Dh less than 80 nm, while 58 ± 32% of the total aqu/C60 mass had Dh between 80 and 150 nm and 14 ± 9.2% of the total aqu/C60 were between 150 and 260 nm in Dh. With the optimal fractionation parameters, 77 ± 5.8% of the aqu/C60 mass eluted from the AF4 channel, indicating deposition on the AF4 membrane had occurred during fractionation; use of alternative membranes did not reduce deposition. Channel flow splitting increased detector response although channel split ratios greater than 80% of the channel flow led to decreased detector response. This is the first report on the use of AF4 for fractionating a colloidal suspension of aqu/C60.  相似文献

The effects of T4 phage on the metabolic rate of resting cells of Escherichia coli B in a restricted medium during the early phase of phage infection were measured calorimetrically. Heat output rate (P) and total quantity of heat (Q) of culture, heat output rate (P0) and quantity of heat (Q0) of single cell were determined. P and Q of E. coli-T4 phage system, or P0 and Q0 of infected cell, are all higher than that of control. The metabolic activity of infected cell is enhanced by 45-62%. P has a linear correlation with cell concentration (C), P (μW) = 1.68 × 10−6C (cfu/mL) + 1.86, for E. coli B cells, and for E. coli B-T4 phage system, P (μW) = 2.24 × 10−6C (cfu/mL) + 3.60. Q does not change significantly with the change of cell concentration. But Q0 decreases with C increasing, indicating that Q0 is restrained by cell density.  相似文献

Fluorophilic ethers having the structure RC(CF3)2O(CH2)3CnF2n + 1 are obtained in high yields, when F-tert-butyl alcohol (R = CF3), F-acetone hydrate (R = O(CH2)3CnF2n + 1), F-pinacol (R = C(CF3)2O(CH2)3CnF2n + 1) are reacted with 3-perfluoroalkyl-1-propanols (CnF2n + 1(CH2)3OH, n = 4, 6, 8, 10) in a Mitsunobu reaction (Ph3P/DIAD [i-PrO2CN = NCO2Pr-i]/ether). The parent lipophilic ethers with the structure of (CF3)3CO(CH2)3CnH2n + 1 were prepared analogously using the corresponding fatty alcohols and F-tert-butyl alcohol. To achieve ideal separations, products were transferred to orthogonal phases relative to the other reaction components using fluorous extraction, fluorous solid-organic liquid filtration, or steam-distillation. Selected physical properties including melting and boiling point, together with fluorous partition coefficients of these ethers were determined and the figures obtained were qualitatively analyzed using relevant thermodynamic theories. Some of these ethers are liquids with rather low freezing points and are miscible with fluorocarbon solvents.  相似文献

A variety of fluorinated surfactants soluble in organic solvent were prepared, including C8F17SO2NHCnH2n+1 (n = 2, 4, 6, 8, 10), C8F17SO2NHR (R = C6H11, C6H5), C8F17SO2N(CnH2n+1)2 (n = 1, 2, 3, 4) and C8F17SO2NH(CH2)nNHO2SC8F17 (n = 6, 10). Their surface activities in various organic solvents were determined by surface tension measurement. The results showed that these fluorinated surfactants can reduce the surface tension of both polar and non-polar organic solvents. In general, organic solvents with strong polarity or long alkyl chain are beneficial to increase the surface activity of these polar fluorinated surfactants. By comparing fluorinated surfactants with the same fluorocarbon segment and connecting group, C8F17SO2N(CnH2n+1)2 (n = 1, 2, 3, 4) showed lower surface activity in organic solvents than C8F17SO2NHCnH2n+1 (n = 2, 4, 6, 8) with an equal carbon number of the solvophilic group. Through surface tension vs. concentration curves given for N-octyl perfluorooctanesulfonamide in various organic solvents, a break point like the critical micelle concentration of ordinary surfactants in aqueous solutions was observed, and the effect of the different types of organic solvents on adsorption and aggregation behavior was also studied.  相似文献

Mononuclear neutral arene ruthenium(II) β-diketonato complexes of the general formula (η6-arene)Ru(LL)Cl [LL = 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl pyrazol-5-one (L1), arene = C6H6 (1), p-iPrC6H4Me (2), C6Me6 (3); arene = p-iPrC6H4Me, LL = 1-benzoylacetone (L3) (8); arene = p-iPrC6H4Me, LL = dibenzoylmethane (L4) (9)] have been synthesized and their subsequent substitution reactions with NaN3 in alcohol at room temperature yielded the corresponding neutral terminal azido complexes (η6-arene)Ru(LL)N3 [LL = 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl pyrazol-5-one (L1), arene = C6H6 (4), p-iPrC6H4Me (6), C6Me6 (7); arene = p-iPrC6H4Me, LL = dibenzoylmethane (L4) (10)] as well as a cationic complex [(η6-p-iPrC6H4Me)Ru(L4) (PPh3)]BF4 (12) with PPh3. The [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction of selective azido complexes with the activated alkynes dimethyl and diethyl acetylenedicarboxylates produced the arene triazolato complexes [(η6-arene)Ru(LL){N3C2(CO2R)2}] [arene = p-iPrC6H4Me, LL = L1, R = Me (13); arene = C6Me6, LL = L1, R = Me (14); arene = C6Me6, LL = acetyl acetone (L2), R = Me (15); arene = C6Me6, LL = L3, R = Me (16); arene = p-iPrC6H4Me, LL = L1, R = Et (17); arene = C6Me6, LL = L1, R = Et (18); arene = C6Me6, LL = L2, R = Et (19); arene = C6Me6, LL = L3, R = Et (20)]. With fumaronitrile the reaction yielded the triazoles [(η6-arene)Ru(LL)(N3C2HCN)] [arene = p-iPrC6H4Me, LL = L1 (21), arene = C6Me6, LL = L1 (22), arene = C6Me6, LL = L2 (23), arene = C6Me6, LL = L3 (24)]. In the above triazolato complexes only N(2) isomer was obtained. The complexes were characterized on the basis of spectroscopic data. Crystal structure of representatives complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium data are presented for four ternary systems of an alkane, or aromatic compound and ethyl(2-hydroxyethyl)dimethylammonium bis{(trifluomethyl)sulfonyl}imide (C2NTf2) at 298.15 K: [hexane + benzene + C2NTf2], [hexane + p-xylene + C2NTf2], and [hexane, or octane + m-xylene + C2NTf2]. The separation of aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, or p-xylene, or m-xylene) from aliphatic hydrocarbons (hexane, or octane) is investigated by extraction with the ammonium ionic liquid. Selectivities and distribution ratios are discussed for these mixtures at constant temperature. The data were analysed and compared to those previously reported for other ionic liquids and especially for the system {hexane + benzene + [EMIM][NTf2]}. The nonrandom two liquid NRTL model was successfully used to correlate the experimental tie-lines and to calculate the phase compositions of the ternary systems.  相似文献

The rotational spectrum of cyclopentadienylallylnickel, C3H5NiC5H5, has been studied using a pulsed molecular beam Fourier transform microwave spectrometer. Twelve a-type transitions were analyzed to obtain rotational and centrifugal distortion constants for the parent C3H558NiC5H5 complex. The measured rotational constant A = 3107.603(93) MHz is about 160.0 MHz larger than the predicted DFT value, providing evidence for possible fluxional motion in the complex. The large distortion constants, on the order of 100 kHz, provide further evidence for fluxional motion. The experimental constants B = 1302.38(22) and C = 1276.40(15) MHz are in good agreement with the DFT calculated values and confirm the η3-bonding of the allyl ligand to the Ni–C5H5 moiety. DFT calculations provide a V5 barrier for internal rotation about the Ni–C5H5 axis of 53 cm−1, with the lowest energy conformation having the central allyl c-atom eclipsed with respect to two C5H5 carbon atoms. Several additional rotational lines, possibly those of an exited torsional state, were observed but not assigned.  相似文献

In this study, 1-n-tetradecyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ([C14mim]Br), one kind of imidazolium ionic liquid (imi-IL), was incorporated into polypropylene (PP) via melt blending. The measurement of surface resistance (Rs) and volume resistance (Rv) of neat PP and PP/[C14mim]Br blends indicated that [C14mim]Br had excellent antistatic properties. The PP/[C14mim]Br blend had the best antistatic ability, when the weight ratio of [C14mim]Br to PP reached 3/100. The surface resistance of PP/[C14mim]Br decreased from the 7.67 × 1013 to 1.40 × 107 Ω whereas the volume resistance of PP decreased from 2.67 × 1014 to 2.60 × 107 Ω. Semicrystalline morphology and crystal structure were investigated by polarized optical microscopy (POM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The spherulites of PP became smaller with the addition of [C14mim]Br, implying that [C14mim]Br had a nucleating effect in the PP matrix. The XRD study indicates the crystallization process of PP was affected by [C14mim]Br, and the crystallinity of PP was thus decreased. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies reveal that [C14mim]Br had good dispersion in PP; thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) shows the addition of [C14mim]Br remarkably increased the thermal stability of PP even though it is a small molecule.  相似文献

The paper provides a new formulation and analytical proposals based on the isohydric solutions concept. It is particularly stated that a mixture formed, according to titrimetric mode, from a weak acid (HX, C0 mol/L) and a strong acid (HB, C mol/L) solutions, assumes constant pH, independently on the volumes of the solutions mixed, provided that the relation C0 = C + C2 · 10pK1 is valid, where pK1 = −log K1, K1 the dissociation constant for HX. The generalized formulation, referred to the isohydric solutions thus obtained, was extended also to more complex acid-base systems. Particularly in the (HX, HB) system, the titration occurs at constant ionic strength (I) value, not resulting from presence of a basal electrolyte. This very advantageous conjunction of the properties provides, among others, a new, very sensitive method for verification of pK1 value. The new method is particularly useful for weak acids HX characterized by low pK1 values. The method was tested experimentally on four acid-base systems (HX, HB), in aqueous and mixed-solvent media and compared with the literature data. Some useful (linear and hyperbolic) correlations were stated and applied for validation of pK1 values. Finally, some practical applications of analytical interest of the isohydricity (pH constancy) principle as one formulated in this paper were enumerated, proving the usefulness of such a property which has its remote roots in the Arrhenius concept.  相似文献

Various amounts of n-alkylbenzenes (Cn: C6H5-CnH2n+1 (n = 3-16)) were doped into poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films, and the emission and thermal properties of each film were measured in detail together with their solid-state 13C NMR spectra. The aim of the present work was to estimate the size distribution of free volume in amorphous regions of polymer solids heavily doped with plasticizers by using Cn as models of a plasticizer. The excimer fluorescence yields of Cn in PMMA were found to depend on both the amount of Cn and the length of the alkyl chains of Cn, although the fluorescence spectra of all of the Cns in dilute fluid solution were almost the same. The quantitative analysis showed: (1) Cn with n ? 12 induces a phase separation in PMMA, in which almost all of the Cn molecules are in a separated phase, and thus they cannot penetrate regions in which PMMA chains are aggregated. This means that Cn with n ? 12 cannot enlarge the space between PMMA chains. (2) Smaller Cn (n < 11) can enter free volumes between PMMA chains that correspond to their molecular size, but they can enlarge them only to a limited extent. Thus, the amount by which plasticization can increase the free volume of PMMA is limited by the size of the dopant and the inherent free volume of the polymer matrix. (3) The efficiency of excimer formation was found to reveal the maximum amount of Cn that could fit in the free volume of PMMA. Thus our fluorescence measurements showed that PMMA solids that were plasticized to their limit had a free volume that was larger than the volume occupied by all the conformers of C5 and smaller than the volume occupied by almost all the conformers of C12. In conclusion, we were able to obtain information on plasticization and to demonstrate a method of monitoring microenvironments in polymer solids after they have been doped with plasticizers.  相似文献

Dynamic NMR of 1,3,5-tris(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)-1,3,5-triazinane reveals two dynamic processes: ring inversion leading to equilibrium between two degenerate rotamers of Cs symmetry (ΔG = 13.5 kcal/mol), and rotation about the S-N bond leading to equilibrium between the Cs (more stable) and C3v (2.12 kcal/mol less stable) rotamers (ΔG = 13.0 kcal/mol).  相似文献

The burning velocities of fluoromethane (HFC-41), 1,2-difluoroethane (HFC-152), fluoroethane (HFC-161) and ethane were measured by the spherical-vessel (SV) method at room temperature and at initial pressures of 80-107 kPa over a wide range of HFC/air equivalence ratios (?). The burning velocities were determined from the measured pressure increases by application of a spherical flame model. Schlieren photography was used to directly observe flame propagation behavior in a cylindrical vessel equipped with optical windows. The time evolution of the flame radii derived from the pressure increases agreed with the time evolution observed with the Schlieren technique. The maximum burning velocities of HFC-41, HFC-152, HFC-161 and ethane were 28.3 cm s−1 at ? = 1.01, 30.1 cm s−1 at ? = 1.07, 38.3 cm s−1 at ? = 1.07 and 40.9 cm s−1 at ? = 1.05, respectively. The maximum burning velocities for the HFCs, including previously reported C1 and C2 fluoroalkanes, decreased with increasing F-substitution rate (the ratio of the number of F atoms to the sum of the number of H and F atoms). The concentrations of chemical species in the flames were investigated by means of an equilibrium calculation, and the results suggested that the burning velocity was correlated with the concentrations of H and OH radicals that were not deactivated by F radicals in the flame. The results also suggested that the burning velocities were linearly related to the heats of combustion of the C1 and C2 fluoroalkanes.  相似文献

Five novel phosphate-type hybrid surfactants, CmF2m+1C6H4CH[OPO2(OC6H5)Na]CnH2n+1 (FmPHnPPhNa: m = 4, 6, 8; n = 3, 5; C6H4 = p-phenylene, C6H5 = phenyl), have been synthesized. When compared with sulfate-type hybrid surfactants, CmF2m+1C6H4CH(OSO3Na)CnH2n+1 (C6H4 = p-phenylene), the new hybrid surfactants are found to have comparable abilities to lower surface tension of water. The critical micelle concentrations of FmPHnPPhNa follow Klevens rule and their occupied areas per molecule increase with increasing m and n. Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHAp) pellets modified with FmPH3PPhNa gives high hydrophobic and lipophobic surfaces. The hybrid surfactants are expected as new dental reagents for oral hygiene.  相似文献

Solubilities of ammonia in four conventional imidazolium ionic liquids: [Cnmim][BF4] (n = 2, 4, 6, 8) have been measured. Isothermally fixed temperatures are 293.15, 303.15, 313.15, 323.15 and 333.15 K; the pressure is from 0 to 1.0 MPa. High solubilities of ammonia are found, and it is also found that the solubilities of ammonia increase when the length of cations’ alkyl increases (the ILs have the same anion), that is: [C8mim]+ > [C6mim]+ > [C4mim]+ > [C2mim]+. The solubility data have been correlated by the Krichevisky–Kasarnovsky equation, and then Henry's constants and partial molar volumes of NH3 at infinite dilution are obtained. The thermodynamic properties such as solution enthalpy (ΔsolH), solution Gibbs free energy (ΔsolG), solution entropy (ΔsolS), and solution heat capacity (ΔsolCp) of these systems are obtained.  相似文献

Oriented films of cellulose prepared from algal cellulose were hydrothermally treated to convert them into highly crystalline cellulose Iβ. The lateral thermal expansion behavior of the prepared cellulose Iβ films was investigated using X-ray diffraction at temperatures from 20 to 300 °C. Cellulose Iβ was transformed into the high-temperature phase when the temperature was above 230 °C, allowing the lateral thermal expansion coefficient of cellulose Iβ and its high-temperature phase to be measured. For cellulose Iβ, the thermal expansion coefficients (TECs) of the a- and b-axes were αa = 9.8 × 10−5 °C−1 and αb = 1.2 × 10−5 °C−1, respectively. This anisotropic thermal expansion behavior in the lateral direction is ascribed to the crystal structure and to the hydrogen-bonding system of cellulose Iβ. For the high-temperature phase, the anisotropy was more conspicuous, and the TECs of the a- and b-axes were αa = 19.8 × 10−5 °C−1 and αb = −1.6 × 10−5 °C−1, respectively. Synchrotron X-ray fiber diffraction diagrams of the high-temperature phase were also recorded at 250 °C. The cellulose high-temperature phase is composed of a two-chain monoclinic unit cell, a = 0.819 nm, b = 0.818 nm, c (fiber repeat) = 1.037 nm, and γ = 96.4°, with space group = P21. The volume of this cell is 4.6% larger than that of cellulose Iβ at 30 °C.  相似文献
