This paper presents a simulation model for the generation of strong pressure wave by means of pulsed spark discharge in water and its application to well cleaning. In the simulation model, one-dimensional time-dependent magnetohydrodynamic equations are coupled to a capacitive discharge circuit equation. A cylindrical conducting spark channel formed by electrical breakdown of water gap between a pair of electrodes is treated as a load of which resistance and inductance are allowed to change with time. For describing the spark channel properties accurately, precise calculations on thermodynamic properties and electrical conductivity are included in the simulation model. The simulation results show an excellent agreement with the experimentally measured shock pressure as well as the current and voltage waveforms. The simulation reveals that Joule heating of the spark channel during the very early phase of electrical discharge plays a key role in the formation of shock wave in water. The voltage on a capacitor at breakdown, the circuit inductance, and the resistance of the spark channel are found to be the most important parameters for the shock wave formation. With this technique, a pilot test for the cleaning of a clogged well has been performed in a water well which was constructed as a test-bed for riverbank filtration near the Anseong-cheon (river) in Korea. Well treatments have been carried out with an electrical energy of 510 J stored on a pulsed power system, at which the maximum shock pressure is measured to be around 7 MPa at the position of the well screen, i.e. 0.1 m away from the spark gap. A slug test shows 2.9 times improvement in the hydraulic conductivity of the well, which, combined with a visual inspection inside the well using an underwater camera, clearly demonstrates that the strong pressure wave generated by underwater spark discharge can effectively remove almost all incrustations formed in the well screen and thus improve well performance. Operating parameters for controlling the strength of shock pressure are discussed using the simulation model for extensive applications of the present technique to various types of water wells.  相似文献

The formation of fullerenes from an arc-produced turbulent jet of carbon vapor is described. Both direct and backward mono-and bimolecular reactions are analyzed. Initial characteristics of the jet are used as the input parameters of the problem. The analytical dependences of the fullerene yield on the initial velocity of the jet and carbon vapor concentration explain experimental relationships between the fullerene yield, current, pressure, and buffer gas sort.  相似文献

After explosive ablation from sapphire crystals by linearly polarised laser pulses, regular structures are observed on the bottom of the ablation pit. These structures do not comply with conventional ripple patterns. Instead, they more nearly resemble wickerwork, aligned perpendicular to the laser beam polarisation. A similar morphology is obtained by arc discharge erosion at AgCdO electrodes, suggesting that an explosive laser ablation may be characterised by high electric field effects and self organisation in the ablation craters.  相似文献

Discharge characteristics have been investigated in different gases under different pressures using a dielectric barrier surface discharge device. Electrical measurements and optical emission spectroscopy are used to study the discharge, and the results obtained show that the discharges in atmospheric pressure helium and in low-pressure air are diffuse, while that in high-pressure air is filamentary. With decreasing pressure, the discharge in air can transit from filamentary to diffuse one. The results also indicate that corona discharge around the stripe electrode is important for the diffuse discharge. The gas dynamics in a discharge chamber for arc production of fullerenes in the inert gas atmosphere is analyzed for the first time. A turbulent fanlike jet due to the carbon flow from the discharge gap is shown to be a crucial factor in the gasdynamic pattern formation. The dependence of the fraction of fullerenes extracted from the chamber on the total amount of the product is constructed, with the gas flow rate, as well as the radius and length of the chamber, being adjustable parameters. Tangential twisting of the gas, a way of improving the fullerene extraction efficiency, is considered.  相似文献

The stability of a vacuum arc discharge (VAD) with allowance made for the parameters of an external circuit and a deduced equation of the heterogeneous kinetics of elementary cathode spots (ECSs) in the group cathode spot with one-dimensional configuration is analyzed. It is theoretically and experimentally shown that a VAD with a rising voltage-current characteristic (VCC) is stable independently of the parameters of the external circuit. The dielectric barrier discharge characteristics in helium at atmospheric pressure are simulated based on a one-dimensional fluid model. Under some discharge conditions, the results show that one discharge pulse per half voltage cycle usually appears when the amplitude of external voltage is low, while a glow-like discharge occurs at high voltage. For the one discharge pulse per half voltage cycle, the maximum of electron density appears near the anode at the beginning of the discharge, which corresponds to a Townsend discharge mode. The maxima of the electron density and the intensity of electric field appear in the vicinity of the cathode when the discharge current increases to some extent, which indicates the formation of a cathode-fall region. Therefore, the discharge has a transition from the Townsend mode to the glow discharge mode during one discharge pulse, which is consistent with previous experimental results.  相似文献

介绍了弧光放电等离子体与梯度磁场相结合来处理植物种子这一新兴的等离子体生物技术。给出了番茄种子(中蔬6号)经不同参数的磁化等离子体处理后的生物效应及种子的抗旱性对比。结果表明:种子中脯氨酸含量明显提高,说明磁化等离子体能通过降低细胞渗透势来增加番茄抗旱性;SOD、POD活性、根系活力和ATP含量增加,表明磁化等离子体可以通过清除植物体内自由基和增强代谢来增加番茄对水分胁迫的抗性。  相似文献

It is demonstrated that the chemical potential of bosons trapped in a harmonic potential shows a discontinuity as a function of the number of particles in the system. In the model used, it is shown that if the number of particles is of the order of 106 or greater, bulk-like behaviour is exhibited by the system. This translates to a ratio of V/Vc>106 for bulk behaviour, where V is the crystallite volume of the experimental sample and Vc is the volume of the unit cell. Several experimental results covering a wide range of physical phenomena that corroborate the fact that such a number-induced phase transition indeed exists are presented.  相似文献
