Let R be a commutative ring with \(1\ne 0\) and the additive group \(R^+\). Several graphs on R have been introduced by many authors, among zero-divisor graph \(\Gamma _1(R)\), co-maximal graph \(\Gamma _2(R)\), annihilator graph AG(R), total graph \( T(\Gamma (R))\), cozero-divisors graph \(\Gamma _\mathrm{c}(R)\), equivalence classes graph \(\Gamma _\mathrm{E}(R)\) and the Cayley graph \(\mathrm{Cay}(R^+ ,Z^*(R))\). Shekarriz et al. (J. Commun. Algebra, 40 (2012) 2798–2807) gave some conditions under which total graph is isomorphic to \(\mathrm{Cay}(R^+ ,Z^*(R))\). Badawi (J. Commun. Algebra, 42 (2014) 108–121) showed that when R is a reduced ring, the annihilator graph is identical to the zero-divisor graph if and only if R has exactly two minimal prime ideals. The purpose of this paper is comparison of graphs associated to a commutative Artinian ring. Among the results, we prove that for a commutative finite ring R with \(|\mathrm{Max}(R)|=n \ge 3\), \( \Gamma _1(R) \simeq \Gamma _2(R)\) if and only if \(R\simeq \mathbb {Z}^n_2\); if and only if \(\Gamma _1(R) \simeq \Gamma _\mathrm{E}(R)\). Also the annihilator graph is identical to the cozero-divisor graph if and only if R is a Frobenius ring.  相似文献

In this paper, we first give a classification of the family of 2-geodesic transitive abelian Cayley graphs. Let \(\Gamma \) be such a graph which is not 2-arc transitive. It is shown that one of the following holds: (1) \(\Gamma \cong \mathrm{K}_{m[b]}\) for some \(m\ge 3\) and \(b\ge 2\); (2) \(\Gamma \) is a normal Cayley graph of an elementary abelian group; (3) \(\Gamma \) is a cover of Cayley graph \(\Gamma _K\) of an abelian group T / K, where either \(\Gamma _K\) is complete arc transitive or \(\Gamma _K\) is 2-geodesic transitive of girth 3, and A / K acts primitively on \(V(\Gamma _K)\) of type Affine or Product Action. Second, we completely determine the family of 2-geodesic transitive circulants.  相似文献

Let \(\Gamma \) be a distance-regular graph with diameter d and Kneser graph \(K=\Gamma _d\), the distance-d graph of \(\Gamma \). We say that \(\Gamma \) is partially antipodal when K has fewer distinct eigenvalues than \(\Gamma \). In particular, this is the case of antipodal distance-regular graphs (K with only two distinct eigenvalues) and the so-called half-antipodal distance-regular graphs (K with only one negative eigenvalue). We provide a characterization of partially antipodal distance-regular graphs (among regular graphs with \(d+1\) distinct eigenvalues) in terms of the spectrum and the mean number of vertices at maximal distance d from every vertex. This can be seen as a more general version of the so-called spectral excess theorem, which allows us to characterize those distance-regular graphs which are half-antipodal, antipodal, bipartite, or with Kneser graph being strongly regular.  相似文献

Let \(n \ge 2\) be a fixed integer, R be a noncommutative n!-torsion free ring and I be any non zero ideal of R. In this paper we have proved the following results; (i) If R is a prime ring and there exists a symmetric skew n-derivation \(D: R^n \rightarrow R\) associated with the automorphism \(\sigma \) on R,  such that the trace function \(\delta : R \rightarrow R \) of D satisfies \([\delta (x), \sigma (x)] =0\), for all \(x\in I,\) then \(D=0;\,\)(ii) If R is a semi prime ring and the trace function \(\delta ,\) commuting on I,  satisfies \([\delta (x), \sigma (x)]\in Z\), for all \(x \in I,\) then \([\delta (x), \sigma (x)] = 0 \), for all \(x \in I.\) Moreover, we have proved some annihilating conditions for algebraic identity involving multiplicative(generalized) derivation.  相似文献

Let \(\varGamma \) be a distance-semiregular graph on Y, and let \(D^Y\) be the diameter of \(\varGamma \) on Y. Let \(\varDelta \) be the halved graph of \(\varGamma \) on Y. Fix \(x \in Y\). Let T and \(T'\) be the Terwilliger algebras of \(\varGamma \) and \(\varDelta \) with respect to x, respectively. Assume, for an integer i with \(1 \le 2i \le D^Y\) and for \(y,z \in \varGamma _{2i}(x)\) with \(\partial _{\varGamma }(y,z)=2\), the numbers \(|\varGamma _{2i-1}(x) \cap \varGamma (y) \cap \varGamma (z)|\) and \(|\varGamma _{2i+1}(x) \cap \varGamma (y) \cap \varGamma (z)|\) depend only on i and do not depend on the choice of y, z. The first goal in this paper is to show the relations between T-modules of \(\varGamma \) and \(T'\)-modules of \(\varDelta \). Assume \(\varGamma \) is the incidence graph of the Hamming graph H(Dn) on the vertex set Y and the set \({\mathcal {C}}\) of all maximal cliques. Then, \(\varGamma \) satisfies above assumption and \(\varDelta \) is isomorphic to H(Dn). The second goal is to determine the irreducible T-modules of \(\varGamma \). For each irreducible T-module W, we give a basis for W the action of the adjacency matrix on this basis and we calculate the multiplicity of W.  相似文献

Let \(X=G/K\) be a symmetric space of noncompact type and rank \(k\ge 2\). We prove that horospheres in X are Lipschitz \((k-2)\)-connected if their centers are not contained in a proper join factor of the spherical building of X at infinity. As a consequence, the distortion dimension of an irreducible \(\mathbb {Q}\)-rank-1 lattice \(\Gamma \) in a linear, semisimple Lie group G of \(\mathbb R\)-rank k is \(k-1\). That is, given \(m< k-1\), a Lipschitz m-sphere S in (a polyhedral complex quasi-isometric to) \(\Gamma \), and a \((m+1)\)-ball B in X (or G) filling S, there is a \((m+1)\)-ball \(B'\) in \(\Gamma \) filling S such that \({{\mathrm{vol}}}B'\sim {{\mathrm{vol}}}B\). In particular, such arithmetic lattices satisfy Euclidean isoperimetric inequalities up to dimension \(k-1\).  相似文献

Let \(\Gamma \) denote a bipartite distance-regular graph with vertex set X, diameter \(D \ge 4\), and valency \(k \ge 3\). Let \({{\mathbb {C}}}^X\) denote the vector space over \({{\mathbb {C}}}\) consisting of column vectors with entries in \({{\mathbb {C}}}\) and rows indexed by X. For \(z \in X\), let \({{\widehat{z}}}\) denote the vector in \({{\mathbb {C}}}^X\) with a 1 in the z-coordinate, and 0 in all other coordinates. Fix a vertex x of \(\Gamma \) and let \(T = T(x)\) denote the corresponding Terwilliger algebra. Assume that up to isomorphism there exist exactly two irreducible T-modules with endpoint 2, and they both are thin. Fix \(y \in X\) such that \(\partial (x,y)=2\), where \(\partial \) denotes path-length distance. For \(0 \le i,j \le D\) define \(w_{ij}=\sum {{\widehat{z}}}\), where the sum is over all \(z \in X\) such that \(\partial (x,z)=i\) and \(\partial (y,z)=j\). We define \(W=\mathrm{span}\{w_{ij} \mid 0 \le i,j \le D\}\). In this paper we consider the space \(MW=\mathrm{span}\{mw \mid m \in M, w \in W\}\), where M is the Bose–Mesner algebra of \(\Gamma \). We observe that MW is the minimal A-invariant subspace of \({{\mathbb {C}}}^X\) which contains W, where A is the adjacency matrix of \(\Gamma \). We show that \(4D-6 \le \mathrm{dim}(MW) \le 4D-2\). We display a basis for MW for each of these five cases, and we give the action of A on these bases.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of distance mean-regular graph, which can be seen as a generalization of both vertex-transitive and distance-regular graphs. Let \(\Gamma \) be a graph with vertex set V, diameter D, adjacency matrix \(\varvec{A}\), and adjacency algebra \(\mathcal{A}\). Then, \(\Gamma \) is distance mean-regular when, for a given \(u\in V\), the averages of the intersection numbers \(p_{ij}^h(u,v)=|\Gamma _i(u)\cap \Gamma _j(v)|\) (number of vertices at distance i from u and distance j from v) computed over all vertices v at a given distance \(h\in \{0,1,\ldots ,D\}\) from u, do not depend on u. In this work we study some properties and characterizations of these graphs. For instance, it is shown that a distance mean-regular graph is always distance degree-regular, and we give a condition for the converse to be also true. Some algebraic and spectral properties of distance mean-regular graphs are also investigated. We show that, for distance mean regular-graphs, the role of the distance matrices of distance-regular graphs is played for the so-called distance mean-regular matrices. These matrices are computed from a sequence of orthogonal polynomials evaluated at the adjacency matrix of \(\Gamma \) and, hence, they generate a subalgebra of \(\mathcal{A}\). Some other algebras associated to distance mean-regular graphs are also characterized.  相似文献

We study packing problems with matroid structures, which includes the strength of a graph of Cunningham and scheduling problems. If \(\mathcal {M}\) is a matroid over a set of elements S with independent set \(\mathcal {I}\), and \(m=|S|\), we suppose that we are given an oracle function that takes an independent set \(A\in \mathcal {I}\) and an element \(e\in S\) and determines if \(A\cup \{e\}\) is independent in time I(m). Also, given that the elements of A are represented in an ordered way \(A=\{A_1,\dots ,A_k\}\), we denote the time to check if \(A\cup \{e\}\notin \mathcal {I}\) and if so, to find the minimum \(i\in \{0,\dots ,k\}\) such that \(\{A_1,\dots ,A_i\}\cup \{e\}\notin \mathcal {I}\) by \(I^*(m)\). Then, we describe a new FPTAS that computes for any \(\varepsilon >0\) and for any matroid \(\mathcal {M}\) of rank r over a set S of m elements, in memory space O(m), the packing \(\varLambda ({\mathcal {M}})\) within \(1+\varepsilon \) in time \(O(mI^*(m)\log (m)\log (m/r)/\varepsilon ^2)\), and the covering \(\varUpsilon ({\mathcal {M}})\) in time \(O(r\varUpsilon ({\mathcal {M}})I(m)\log (m)\log (m/r)/\varepsilon ^2)\). This method outperforms in time complexity by a factor of \(\varOmega (m/r)\) the FPTAS of Plotkin, Shmoys, and Tardos, and a factor of \(\varOmega (m)\) the FPTAS of Garg and Konemann. On top of the value of the packing and the covering, our algorithm exhibits a combinatorial object that proves the approximation. The applications of this result include graph partitioning, minimum cuts, VLSI computing, job scheduling and others.  相似文献

Let \(\Pi \) be a plane of order \(q^{3}\), \(q>2\), admitting \(G\cong PGL(3,q)\) as a collineation group. By Dempwolff (Geometriae Dedicata 18:101–112, 1985) the plane \(\Pi \) contains a G-invariant subplane \(\pi _{0}\) isomorphic to PG(2, q) on which G acts 2-transitively. In this paper it is shown that, if the homologies of \(\pi _{0}\) contained in G extend to \(\Pi \) then \(\Pi \) is either the desarguesian or the Figueroa plane.  相似文献

Assign to each vertex v of the complete graph \(K_n\) on n vertices a list L(v) of colors by choosing each list independently and uniformly at random from all f(n)-subsets of a color set \([n] = \{1,\dots , n\}\), where f(n) is some integer-valued function of n. Such a list assignment L is called a random (f(n), [n])-list assignment. In this paper, we determine the asymptotic probability (as \(n \rightarrow \infty \)) of the existence of a proper coloring \(\varphi \) of \(K_n\), such that \(\varphi (v) \in L(v)\) for every vertex v of \(K_n\). We show that this property exhibits a sharp threshold at \(f(n) = \log n\). Additionally, we consider the corresponding problem for the line graph of a complete bipartite graph \(K_{m,n}\) with parts of size m and n, respectively. We show that if \(m = o(\sqrt{n})\), \(f(n) \ge 2 \log n\), and L is a random (f(n), [n])-list assignment for the line graph of \(K_{m,n}\), then with probability tending to 1, as \(n \rightarrow \infty \), there is a proper coloring of the line graph of \(K_{m,n}\) with colors from the lists.  相似文献

Let R be a non-commutative prime ring, Z(R) its center, Q its right Martindale quotient ring, C its extended centroid, \(F\ne 0\) an b-generalized skew derivation of R, L a non-central Lie ideal of R, \(0\ne a\in R\) and \(n\ge 1\) a fixed integer. In this paper, we prove the following two results:
  1. 1.
    If R has characteristic different from 2 and 3 and \(a[F(x),x]^n=0\), for all \(x\in L\), then either there exists an element \(\lambda \in C\), such that \(F(x)=\lambda x\), for all \(x\in R\) or R satisfies \(s_4(x_1,\ldots ,x_4)\), the standard identity of degree 4, and there exist \(\lambda \in C\) and \(b\in Q\), such that \(F(x)=bx+xb+\lambda x\), for all \(x\in R\).

  2. 2.
    If \(\mathrm{{char}}(R)=0\) or \(\mathrm{{char}}(R) > n\) and \(a[F(x),x]^n\in Z(R)\), for all \(x\in R\), then either there exists an element \(\lambda \in C\), such that \(F(x)=\lambda x\), for all \(x\in R\) or R satisfies \(s_4(x_1,\ldots ,x_4)\).

An automorphism \(\alpha \) of a Cayley graph \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) of a group G with connection set S is color-preserving if \(\alpha (g,gs) = (h,hs)\) or \((h,hs^{-1})\) for every edge \((g,gs)\in E(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S))\). If every color-preserving automorphism of \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) is also affine, then \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) is a Cayley color automorphism (CCA) graph. If every Cayley graph \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) is a CCA graph, then G is a CCA group. Hujdurovi? et al. have shown that every non-CCA group G contains a section isomorphic to the non-abelian group \(F_{21}\) of order 21. We first show that there is a unique non-CCA Cayley graph \(\Gamma \) of \(F_{21}\). We then show that if \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)\) is a non-CCA graph of a group G of odd square-free order, then \(G = H\times F_{21}\) for some CCA group H, and \(\mathrm{Cay}(G,S) = \mathrm{Cay}(H,T)\mathbin {\square }\Gamma \).  相似文献

In this paper we continue to develop the topological method to get semigroup generators of semi-simple Lie groups. Consider a subset \(\Gamma \subset G\) that contains a semi-simple subgroup \(G_{1}\) of G. If one can show that \( \Gamma \) does not leave invariant a contractible subset on any flag manifold of G, then \(\Gamma \) generates G if \(\mathrm {Ad}\left( \Gamma \right) \) generates a Zariski dense subgroup of the algebraic group \(\mathrm {Ad}\left( G\right) \). The proof is reduced to check that some specific closed orbits of \(G_{1}\) in the flag manifolds of G are not trivial in the sense of algebraic topology. Here, we consider three different cases of semi-simple Lie groups G and subgroups \(G_{1}\subset G\).  相似文献

In this paper, we study \(\lambda \)-constacyclic codes over the ring \(R=\mathbb {Z}_4+u\mathbb {Z}_4\) where \(u^{2}=1\), for \(\lambda =3+2u\) and \(2+3u\). Two new Gray maps from R to \(\mathbb {Z}_4^{3}\) are defined with the goal of obtaining new linear codes over \(\mathbb {Z}_4\). The Gray images of \(\lambda \)-constacyclic codes over R are determined. We then conducted a computer search and obtained many \(\lambda \)-constacyclic codes over R whose \(\mathbb {Z}_4\)-images have better parameters than currently best-known linear codes over \(\mathbb {Z}_4\).  相似文献

Let mn be positive integers and p a prime. We denote by \(\nu (G)\) an extension of the non-abelian tensor square \(G \otimes G\) by \(G \times G\). We prove that if G is a residually finite group satisfying some non-trivial identity \(f \equiv ~1\) and for every \(x,y \in G\) there exists a p-power \(q=q(x,y)\) such that \([x,y^{\varphi }]^q = 1\), then the derived subgroup \(\nu (G)'\) is locally finite (Theorem A). Moreover, we show that if G is a residually finite group in which for every \(x,y \in G\) there exists a p-power \(q=q(x,y)\) dividing \(p^m\) such that \([x,y^{\varphi }]^q\) is left n-Engel, then the non-abelian tensor square \(G \otimes G\) is locally virtually nilpotent (Theorem B).  相似文献

The packing chromatic number \(\chi _{\rho }(G)\) of a graph G is the smallest integer k such that the vertex set of G can be partitioned into sets \(V_i\), \(i\in [k]\), where each \(V_i\) is an i-packing. In this paper, we investigate for a given triple (abc) of positive integers whether there exists a graph G such that \(\omega (G) = a\), \(\chi (G) = b\), and \(\chi _{\rho }(G) = c\). If so, we say that (abc) is realizable. It is proved that \(b=c\ge 3\) implies \(a=b\), and that triples \((2,k,k+1)\) and \((2,k,k+2)\) are not realizable as soon as \(k\ge 4\). Some of the obtained results are deduced from the bounds proved on the packing chromatic number of the Mycielskian. Moreover, a formula for the independence number of the Mycielskian is given. A lower bound on \(\chi _{\rho }(G)\) in terms of \(\Delta (G)\) and \(\alpha (G)\) is also proved.  相似文献

The packing chromatic number \(\chi _{\rho }(G)\) of a graph G is the smallest integer k such that there exists a k-vertex coloring of G in which any two vertices receiving color i are at distance at least \(i+1\). Let \(S^n\) be the base-3 Sierpiński graph of dimension n. It is proved that \(\chi _{\rho }(S^1) = 3\), \(\chi _{\rho }(S^2) = 5\), \(\chi _{\rho }(S^3) = \chi _{\rho }(S^4) = 7\), and that \(8\le \chi _\rho (S^n) \le 9\) holds for any \(n\ge 5\).  相似文献

Let \(k\ge 1\) and \(n_1,\ldots ,n_k\ge 1\) be some integers. Let \(S(n_1,\ldots ,n_k)\) be a tree T such that T has a vertex v of degree k and \(T{\setminus } v\) is the disjoint union of the paths \(P_{n_1},\ldots ,P_{n_k}\), that is \(T{\setminus } v\cong P_{n_1}\cup \cdots \cup P_{n_k}\) so that every neighbor of v in T has degree one or two. The tree \(S(n_1,\ldots ,n_k)\) is called starlike tree, a tree with exactly one vertex of degree greater than two, if \(k\ge 3\). In this paper we obtain the eigenvalues of starlike trees. We find some bounds for the largest eigenvalue (for the spectral radius) of starlike trees. In particular we prove that if \(k\ge 4\) and \(n_1,\ldots ,n_k\ge 2\), then \(\frac{k-1}{\sqrt{k-2}}<\lambda _1(S(n_1,\ldots ,n_k))<\frac{k}{\sqrt{k-1}}\), where \(\lambda _1(T)\) is the largest eigenvalue of T. Finally we characterize all starlike trees that all of whose eigenvalues are in the interval \((-2,2)\).  相似文献

Let \((M^3,g,e^{-f}d\mu _M)\) be a compact three-dimensional smooth metric measure space with nonempty boundary. Suppose that M has nonnegative Bakry–Émery Ricci curvature and the boundary \(\partial M\) is strictly f-mean convex. We prove that there exists a properly embedded smooth f-minimal surface \(\Sigma \) in M with free boundary \(\partial \Sigma \) on \(\partial M\). If we further assume that the boundary \(\partial M\) is strictly convex, then we prove that \(M^3\) is diffeomorphic to the 3-ball \(B^3\), and a compactness theorem for the space of properly embedded f-minimal surfaces with free boundary in such \((M^3,g,e^{-f}d\mu _M)\), when the topology of these f-minimal surfaces is fixed.  相似文献
