Complexes of the type [M(pash)Cl] and [M(Hpash)(H2O)SO4] (M=Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II); Hpash = p-amino acetophenone salicyloyl hydrazone) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar electrical conductance, magnetic moments, electronic, ESR and IR spectra, thermal studies and X-ray powder diffraction. All the complexes are insoluble in common organic solvents and are non-electrolytes. The magnetic moment values and electronic spectra indicate a square-planar geometry for Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) chloride complexes and spin-free octahedral geometry for the sulfato complexes. The ligand coordinates through >C=N–,–NH2 and a deprotonated enolate group in all the chloro complexes, and through >C=N–, >C=O and–NH2 in the sulfato complexes. Thermal analyses (TGA and DTA) of [Cu(pash)Cl] show a multi-step exothermic decomposition pattern. ESR spectral parameters of Cu(II) complexes in solid state at room temperature suggest the presence of the unpaired electron in d x 2 ? y 2 . X-ray powder diffraction parameters for [Cu(pash)Cl] and [Ni(Hpash)(H2O)SO4] correspond to tetragonal and orthorhombic crystal lattices, respectively. The complexes show a fair degree of antifungal activity against Aspergillus sp., Stemphylium sp. and Trichoderma sp. and moderate antibacterial activity against E. coli and Clostridium sp.  相似文献

The complexes of 4-chloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid anion with Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ were obtained as polycrystalline solids with general formula M(C8H6ClO3)2·nH2O and colours typical for M(II) ions (Mn – slightly pink, Co – pink, Ni – slightly green, Cu – turquoise and Zn – white). The results of elemental, thermal and spectral analyses suggest that compounds of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) are tetrahydrates whereas those of Co(II) and Ni(II) are pentahydrates. The carboxylate groups in these complexes are monodentate. The hydrates of 4-chloro-2-methoxybenzoates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) heated in air to 1273 K are dehydrated in one step in the range of 323–411 K and form anhydrous salts which next in the range of 433–1212 K are decomposed to the following oxides: Mn3O4, CoO, NiO and ZnO. The final products of decomposition of Cu(II) complex are CuO and Cu. The solubility value in water at 293 K for all complexes is in the order of 10–3 mol dm–3. The plots of χM vs. temperature of 4-chloro-2-methoxybenzoates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) follow the Curie–Weiss law. The magnetic moment values of Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+ ions in these complexes were determined in the range of 76−303 K and they change from: 5.88–6.04 μB for Mn(C8H6ClO3)2·4H2O, 3.96–4.75 μB for Co(C8H6ClO3)2·5H2O, 2.32–3.02 μB for Ni(C8H6ClO3)2·5H2O and 1.77–1.94 μB for Cu(C8H6ClO3)2·4H2O.  相似文献

An imidazolate-bridged copper(II)-zinc(II) complex (Cu(II)-diethylenetriamino-μ-imidazolato-Zn(II)-tris(2-aminoethyl)amine perchlorate (denoted as “Cu,Zn complex”) and a simple copper(II) complex (Cu(II)-tris(2-aminoethyl) amine chloride (“Cu-tren”) were prepared and immobilised on silica gel (by hydrogen or covalent bonds) and montmorillonite (by ion exchange). The immobilised substances were characterised by FT-IR spectroscopy and their thermal characteristics were also studied. The obtained materials were tested in two probe reactions: catalytic oxidation of 3,5-di-tert-butyl catechol (DTBC) (catecholase activity) and the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide (catalase activity). It was found that the catecholase activity of the Cu,Zn complex increased considerably upon immobilization on silica gel via hydrogen bonds and intercalation by ion exchange among the layers of montmorillonite. The imidazolate-bridged copper(II)-zinc(II) complex and its immobilised versions were inactive in hydrogen peroxide decomposition. The Cu(II)-tris(2-aminoethyl)amine chloride complex displayed good catalase activity; however, immobilisation could not improve it.  相似文献

A new chelating matrix has been prepared by immobilising sulfanilamide (SA) on silica gel (SG) surface modified with 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane as a sorbent for the solid-phase extraction (SPE) Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II). The determination of metal ions in aqueous solutions was carried out by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Experimental conditions for effective sorption of trace levels of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II) were optimised with respect to different experimental parameters using the batch and column procedures. The presence of common coexisting ions does not affect the sorption capacities. The maximum sorption capacity of the sorbent at optimum conditions was found to be 34.91, 19.07 and 23.62 mg g?1 for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II), respectively. The detection limit of the method defined by IUPAC was found to be 1.60, 0.50 and 0.61 µg L?1 for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II), respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the method under optimum conditions was 4.0% (n = 8). The method was applied to the recovery of Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II) from the certified reference material (GBW 08301, river sediment) and to the simultaneous determination of these cations in different water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The poly(propylene imine) dendrimers DAB‐dendr‐(NH2)8, DAB‐dendr‐(NH2)32, and DAB‐dendr‐(NH2)64 were fully converted with iodomethane to quaternary ammonium ions at both chain ends and branch points and, with less iodomethane, were partially converted to quaternary ammonium ions mainly at end groups. Amidation of the primary amine ends followed by treatment with iodomethane gave the first dendrimers with quaternary ammonium ions only at branch points. After an exchange of iodide counterions for chloride, all of the quaternary ammonium ion dendrimers slightly increased the rate of decarboxylation of 6‐nitrobenzisoxazole‐3‐carboxylate ion in an aqueous solution. Similar quaternary ammonium ion dendrimers with more hydrophobic interiors or more hydrophobic chains on the ends were much more active catalysts for the decarboxylation. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. In this study, 1,2-dihydroxyimino-3,7-di-aza-9,10-O-α-methyl benzal decane (LH2) was synthesized starting from 1,2-O-α-methyl benzal-4-aza-7-amino heptane (RNH2) and antichloroglyoxime. With this ligand, complexes were synthesized using Ni(II) and Cu(II) salts with a metal:ligand ratio of 1:2. However, the reaction of the ligand with salts of Zn(II) and Cd(II) gave products with metal:ligand ratio of 1:1. Structures of the ligand and its complexes are proposed based on elemental analyses, IR, 13C- and 1H-NMR spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA).  相似文献

Abstract

A sensitive method for the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of Fe(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Mn(II) in mixtures has been developed with the aid of multivariate calibration methods, such as classical least squares (CLS), principal component regression (PCR) and partial least squares (PLS). The method is based on the spectral differences of the analytes in their complexation reaction with 4‐(2‐pyridylazo)‐resorcinol (PAR) and the use of full spectra with wavelengths in the range of 300–600 nm. It was found that both the spectral positive and negative bands obtained against the PAR blank, are proportional to the concentration for each metal complex. The obtained linear calibration concentration ranges are 0.025–0.6, 0.05–0.8, 0.025–0.8, and 0.05–0.8 µg ml?1 for Fe(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Mn(II), respectively, and the LODs for the four metal ions were found to be approximately 1–3×10?2 µg ml?1. The proposed method was applied to a verification set of synthetic mixtures of these four metal ions, with models built in three different wavelength ranges, i.e., 300–450, 450–600, and 300–600 nm, corresponding to the positive, negative bands and their combinations, respectively. It was shown that the PLS model for the 300–600 nm range gave the best results (RPET=6.9% and average recovery ~100%; cf. PCR: RPET=9.5% and average Recovery ~110%). This method was also successfully applied for the determination of the four metal ions in pharmaceutical preparations, chicken feedstuff, and water samples.  相似文献

Polymerization of styrene in aqueous dispersions of the dodecanamide derivative of poly(propyleneimine) dendrimer DAB‐dendr‐(NH2)64 and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) produced stable latices. With initial SDS concentrations of 10 mM or less, molar ratios of SDS to dendrimer end groups ranging from 2.3:1 to 9.5:1, and less than 10 wt % of SDS relative to styrene, the polystyrene latices had diameters of 30–60 nm and coefficients of variation of diameters of less than 10% when measured by transmission electron microscopy. Higher concentrations of SDS gave more polydisperse latices. The polystyrene latices formed with SDS and the dodecanamide‐modified dendrimer were almost the same size and polydispersity as those formed with SDS and the parent primary amine dendrimer DAB‐dendr‐(NH2)64. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper describes an investigation of the uptake of Cu(II) by poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers with an ethylenediamine (EDA) core in aqueous solutions. We use bench scale measurements of proton and metal ion binding to assess the effects of (i) metal ion-dendrimer loading, (ii) dendrimer generation/terminal group chemistry, and (iii) solution pH on the extent of binding of Cu(II) in aqueous solutions of EDA core PAMAM dendrimers with primary amine, succinamic acid, glycidol, and acetamide terminal groups. We employ extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectroscopy to probe the structures of Cu(II) complexes with Gx-NH2 EDA core PAMAM dendrimers in aqueous solutions at pH 7.0. The overall results of the proton and metal ion binding measurements suggest that the uptake of Cu(II) by EDA core PAMAM dendrimers involves both the dendrimer tertiary amine and terminal groups. However, the extents of protonation of these groups control the ability of the dendrimers to bind Cu(II). Analysis of the EXAFS spectra suggests that Cu(II) forms octahedral complexes involving the tertiary amine groups of Gx-NH2 EDA core PAMAM dendrimers at pH 7.0. The central Cu(II) metal ion of each of these complexes appears to be coordinated to 2-4 dendrimer tertiary amine groups located in the equatorial plane and 2 axial water molecules. Finally, we combine the results of our experiments with literature data to formulate and evaluate a phenomenological model of Cu(II) uptake by Gx-NH2 PAMAM dendrimers in aqueous solutions. At low metal ion-dendrimer loadings, the model provides a good fit of the measured extent of binding of Cu(II) in aqueous solutions of G4-NH2 and G5-NH2 PAMAM dendrimers at pH 7.0.  相似文献

Poly (acrylamide-acrylic acid-dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate), p(AM-AA-DMAEM) and Poly(acrylamide-acrylic acid)-ethylenediaminetetracetic acid disodium, p(AM-AA)-EDTANa2 were prepared by gamma radiation-induced template polymerization technique and used for the separation of Ga (III) from Cu (II), Ni (II), and Zn (II) in aqueous media. The effect of pH and contact time on the separation process was studied. The optimum pH value for the separation process is 3–3.5. The result shows that Ga (III) is first extracted while Cu (II), Ni (II) and Zn(II) are slightly extracted at this pH value. The recovery of metals using HCl, HNO3 and H2SO4 has been studied. The resins may be regenerated using 2M HCl solutions.   相似文献

The cobalt, nickel, copper and zinc atoms in bis(1,10-phenanthroline)bis(salicylato-O)metal(II) monomeric octahedral complexes [M(Hsal)2(phen)2nH2O, (M: Co(II), n=1; Cu(II), n=1.5 and Ni(II), Zn(II), n=2) are coordinated by the salicylato monoanion (Hsal) through the carboxyl oxygen in a monodentate fashion and by the 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) molecule through the two amine nitrogen atoms in a bidentate chelating manner. On the basis of the DTGmax, the thermal stability of the hydrated complexes follows order: Ni(II) (149°C)>Co(II) (134°C)>Zn(II) (132°C)>Cu(II) (68°C) in static air atmosphere. In the second stage, the pyrolysis of the anhydrous complexes takes place. The third stage of decomposition is associated with a strong exothermic oxidation process (DTA curves: 410, 453, 500 and 450°C for the Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes, respectively). The final decomposition products, namely CoO, NiO, CuO and ZnO, were identified by IR spectroscopy. Conditions for the preparation of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 4-methylphthalates were investigated and their composition, solubility in water at 295 K and magnetic moments were determined. IR spectra and powder diffraction patterns of the complexes prepared with molar ratio of metal to organic ligand of 1.0:1.0 and general formula: M [ CH3C6H3(CO2)2nH2o (n=1-3) were recorded and their decomposition in air were studied. During heating the hydrated complexes are dehydrated in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Cd) or two steps (Cu) and next the anhydrous complexes decompose to oxides directly (Cu, Zn), with intermediate formation of carbonates (Mn, Cd), oxocarbonates (Ni) or carbonate and free metal (Co). The carboxylate groups in the complexes studied are mono- and bidentate (Co, Ni), bidentate chelating and bridging (Zn) or bidentate chelating (Mn, Cu, Cd). The magnetic moments for paramagnetic complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) attain values 5.92, 5.05, 3.36 and 1.96 M.B., respectively. Polymeric oxaaza macrocycles (PEI-OAM) are constructed on poly(ethylenimine) (PEI) by Ni(II)-template alkylation of PEI with diethyleneglycol ditosylate. The Kf values for Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes of PEI–OAM are measured at pH 3.5–10 at 25°C. At pH 7, log Kf values for these complexes are 9–15, indicating that the polymeric oxaaza macrocycles can readily reduce concentrations of these metal ions below ppb level. Metal binding ability of nonpolymeric oxaaza macrocyclic compounds reported in the literature decreases rapidly as pH is lowered below 7, whereas that of PEI–OAM decreases to lesser extents. This is attributed to the electrostatic effects exerted by the ammonium ions of PEI backbone. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 35: 527–532, 1997.  相似文献

The influence of the solvent and the substituents on the complexing properties of methyl and phenyl glycine derivatives is discussed. On the basis of a computer analysis of potentiometric titration results, the composition and the stability constants of the complexes ofN-methylglycine,N,N-dimethylglycine,N-phenylglycine and phenylglycine with H+ and with Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) were determined. The ligand-metal coordination mode as well as the zwitterion level in percent in ligand/proton systems were determined by spectral analyses and equilibria studies.

The macrocyclic complexes of Co(II) and Ni(II) having chloride or thiocyanate ions in the axial position have been synthesized and characterized. These complexes are synthesised by the template condensation of o-phenylenediamine or 2,3-butanedionedihydrazone with the appropriate aldehydes in NH4OH solution in the presence of the metal ions, Co(II) and Ni(II). The complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods (IR, UV-Vis and ESR) and magnetic measurements as well as thermal analysis (TG and DTA). The results obtained are commensurate with the proposed formulae. Spectral studies indicate that these complexes have an octahedral structure. From conductivity measurements the complexes are non-electrolytes. The kinetic of the thermal decomposition of the complexes was studied and the thermodynamic parameters are reported.  相似文献

Complexes of the type [M(painh)(H2O)2X], where M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II); X = Cl2 or SO4; painh = p-amino acetophenone isonicotinoyl hydrazone, have been synthesized and characterized by spectral and other physico-chemical techniques. The synthesized complexes are stable powders, insoluble in common organic solvents such as ethanol, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform and diethyl ether, and are non-electrolytes. Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) and Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) studies show that the organic ligand decomposes exothermically through various steps. TGA and Infrared (IR) spectral studies indicate the presence of coordinated water in the metal complexes. Magnetic susceptibility measurements and electronic spectra suggest that Mn(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) complexes are paramagnetic with octahedral geometry, whereas Cu(II) complexes have distorted octahedral geometry. The neutral bidentate ligand bonds through >C=O and >C=N–groups in all the complexes. Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectra in the solid state show axial symmetry for [Cu(painh)(H2O)2(SO4)] and elongated rhombic symmetry for [Cu(painh)(H2O)2Cl2], suggesting an elongated tetragonally-distorted octahedral structure for both complexes. X-ray powder diffraction parameters for two complexes correspond to tetragonal and orthorhombic crystal lattices. The metal complexes show fair antifungal activity against Rizoctonia sp., Aspergillus sp., Stemphylium sp., and Penicillium sp. and appreciable antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas sp. and Escherichia coli.  相似文献

Abstract

A novel dioxime, 1,2 dihydroxyimino-3,7-diaza-9,10-O-benzaloctane (LH2) was prepared by reaction of l,2-0-benzylidene-4-aza-7-aminoheptane and anti-phenylchloroglyoxime in absolute ethanol. Mononuclear complexes with a metal-ligand ratio of 1:2 were prepared with Co(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II). To elucidate the structures of the ligand and complexes, elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectral data and magnetic susceptibility measurements have been examined.  相似文献

Varying coordination modes of the Schiff base ligand H2L [5-methyl-1-H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid (1-pyridin-2-yl-ethylidene)-hydrazide] towards different metal centers are reported with the syntheses and characterization of four mononuclear Mn(II), Co(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes, [Mn(H2L)(H2O)2](ClO4)2(MeOH) (1), [Co(H2L)(NCS)2] (2), [Cd(H2L)(H2O)2](ClO4)2 (3) and [Zn(H2L)(H2O)2](ClO4)2 (4), and a binuclear Cu(II) complex, [Cu2(L)2](ClO4)2 (5). In the complexes 1-4 the neutral ligand serves as a 3N,2O donor where the pyridine ring N, two azomethine N and two carbohydrazine oxygen atoms are coordinatively active, leaving the pyrazole-N atoms inactive. In the case of complex 5, each ligand molecule behaves as a 4N,O donor utilizing the pyridine N, one azomethine N, the nitrogen atom proximal to the azomethine of the remaining pendant arm and one pyrazole-N atom to one metal center and the carbohydrazide oxygen atom to the second metal center. The complexes 1-4 are pentagonal bipyramidal in geometry. In each case, the ligand molecule spans the equatorial plane while the apical positions are occupied by water molecules in 1, 3 and 4 and two N bonded thiocyanate ions in 2. In complex 5, the two Cu(II) centers have almost square pyramidal geometry (τ = 0.05 for Cu1 and 0.013 for Cu2). Four N atoms from a ligand molecule form the basal plane and the carbohydrazide oxygen atom of a second ligand molecule sits in the apex of the square pyramid. All the complexes have been X-ray crystallographically characterized. The Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes show considerable fluorescence emission while the remaining complexes and the ligand molecule are fluorescent silent.  相似文献

Abstract

1-Hexadecyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (hexadecyl cyclam) and 1-(3,7,11,15-tetramethyl) hexadecyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (tetramethylhexadecyl cyclam) have been synthesized and their deprotonation and ligand-metal formation constants, K, determined for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II). The coupling of a long hydrocarbon chain to a ring nitrogen decreased the general ability of the cyclam ring to complex with metal ions. The greatest effect appeared to be for Cu(II) decreasing from a pK of 27 for cyclam to about 17. The titrations were fitted by HYPERQUAD and the concentrations of the intermediate complexes obtained as a function of pH. Metal-ligand complexes LMH2 4+, LMH2+ and LM2+ can coexist through a wide pH range. We have also calculated a composite metal-binding constant, K′, to reflect more accurately the overall ability of these ligands to bind a metal at any particular pH. K′, which is 14.6 for (hexadecyl cyclam)-Cu(II), is constructed from the concentrations of all the metal-chelated species at pH = 7. Generally, K′ is much lower than K.  相似文献
