Palladium–catalyzed polycondensation between 2,5–diiodo–3–hexylthiophene I–Th(Hex)–I with mixtures of p–diethynylbenzene HCC—Ph—CCH and α,ω–diethynylalkane HCC(CH2)lCCH (l = 3 or 8) gives poly(aryleneethynylene) PAE–type copolymers [CC(CH2)lCC—Th(Hex)]m[CC—Ph—CC—Th(Hex)]n containing the methylene unit. The copolymers have a molecular weight (Mn) of about 1.2 × 104 as determined by GPC (polystyrene standard) and are considered to possess essentially a random sequences in view of the —CC(CH2)lCC— and —CC—Ph—CC— units as judged from their UV–visible spectra. By the incorporation of the (CH2)l unit, the λmax position of the corresponding PAE homopolymer [CC—Ph—CC—Th(Hex)]n is shifted to a shorter wavelength. However, the copolymers give rise to a photoluminescence PL peak essentially agreeing with a PL peak of the homopolymer, suggesting occurrence of energy transfer in the copolymer. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Reaction of 7‐{(N‐2,6‐R)iminomethyl)}indole ( HL1 , R = dimethylphenyl; HL2 , R = diisopropylphenyl) and rare‐earth metal tris(alkyl)s, Ln(CH2SiMe3)3(THF)2, generated new rare‐earth metal bis(alkyl) complexes LLn(CH2SiMe3)2(THF) [L = L1: Ln = Lu ( 1a ), Sc ( 1b ); L = L2: Ln = Lu ( 3a ), Sc ( 3b )] and mono(alkyl) complexes L22Lu(CH2SiMe3) ( 4a ). Treatment of alkyl complexes 1a and 4a with N,N′‐diisopropylcarbodiimide afforded the corresponding amidinates L1Lu{iPr2NC(CH2SiMe3)NiPr2}2 ( 2a ) and L22Lu{iPr2NC(CH2SiMe3)NiPr2} ( 5a ), respectively. These new rare‐earth metal alkyls and amidinates except 4a in combination with aluminum alkyls and borate generated efficient homogeneous catalysts for the polymerization of isoprene, providing high cis‐1,4 selectivity and high molar mass polyisoprene with narrow molar mass distribution (Mn = 2.65 × 105, Mw/Mn = 1.07, cis‐1,4 98.2%, −60 °C). The environmental hindrance around central metals arising from the bulkiness of the ligands, the Lewis‐acidity of rare‐earth metal ions, the types of aluminum tris(alkyl)s and borate, and polymerization temperature influenced significantly on both the catalytic activity and the regioselectivity. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The reactions of 3,3′‐diaminobenzidine with 1,12‐dodecanediol in 1 : 1–1:3 molar ratios in the presence of RuCl2(PPh3)3 catalyst give poly(alkylenebenzimidazole), [ (CH2)11 O (CH2)11 Im / (CH2)10 Im ]n (Im: 5,5′‐dibenzimidazole‐2,2′‐diyl) (Ia‐Id) in 71–92% yields. The relative ratio between the [(CH2)11 O (CH2)11 Im ] unit (A) and the [‐ (CH2)10 Im ] unit (B) in the polymer chain varies depending on the ratio of the substrates used. The polymer Ia obtained from the 1 : 3 reaction contains these structural units in a 98 : 2 ratio. The polymers are soluble in polar solvents such as DMF (N,N‐dimethylformamide), DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide), and NMP (N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone) and have molecular weights Mn (Mw) of 4,200–4,800 (4,800–6,500) by GPC (polystyrene standard). The polymerization of the diol and 3,3′‐diaminobenzidine in higher molar ratios leads to partial cross‐linking of the resulting polymers Ie and If via condensation of imidazole NH group with CH2OH group. Similar reactions of 3,3′‐diaminobenzidine with α,ω‐diols, HO(CH2)mOH (m = 4–10), in a 1 : 3 molar ratio give the polymers containing [ (CH2)m−1 O (CH2) m−1 Im ] and [ (CH2) m−2 Im ] units with partial cross‐linked structures. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (±)‐exo,endo‐5,6‐Bis{[[11′‐[2″,5″‐bis[2‐(3′‐fluoro‐4′‐n‐alkoxyphenyl)ethynyl]phenyl]undecyl]oxy]carbonyl}bicyclo[2.2.1]hept‐2‐ene (n = 1–12) monomers were polymerized by ring‐opening metathesis polymerization in tetrahydrofuran at room temperature with Mo(CHCMe2Ph)(N‐2,6‐iPr2Ph)(OtBu)2 as the initiator to produce polymers with number‐average degrees of polymerization of 8–37 and relatively narrow polydispersities (polydispersity index = 1.08–1.31). The thermotropic behavior of these materials was independent of the molecular weight and therefore representative of that of a polymer at approximately 15 repeat units. The polymers exhibited an enantiotropic nematic mesophase when n was 2 or greater. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 44: 4076–4087, 2006  相似文献

A new class of organometallic polymer having a backbone of conjugated Poly-yne and Zr-metal atoms has been prepared. Trichloroethylene (TCE) and Hexachlorobutadiene (HCB) are quantitatively converted by n-butyllithium to dilithioacetylene (LiCCLi) and dilithiodiacetylene (Li CC CC Li) respectively. Quenching with Cp2*ZrCl2 affords high yields of the polymers Zr(Cp2*)CCn and Zr(Cp2*)CC CCn where Cp* = C5(CH3)5 = pentamethyl cyclopentadienyl. Two highly fluorinated bipyridine derivatives, (4,4′‐bis(RfCH2OCH2)‐2,2′‐bpy) {Rf = n‐C10F21 ( 1a ), n‐C10F23 ( 1b )}, have been synthesized starting from 4,4′‐bis(BrCH2)‐2,2′‐bpy and the corresponding fluorinated alkoxides. The fluorine contents of ligands 1a‐b are 62.3% and 63.3%, respectively, both being white solids, virtually insoluble in CH2Cl2 or DMF and highly fluorophilic with a partition ratio between DMF and n‐C8F18 less than 1:1000. The reaction of ligands 1a‐b with [Pd(CH3CN)2Cl2] results in novel Pd complexes [PdCl2(4,4′‐bis‐(RfCH2OCH2)‐2,2′‐bpy)] where Rf = n‐C10F21 ( 2a ), n‐C10F23 ( 2b ), respectively. The Pd complexes 2a‐b are pale yellow solids, soluble only in fluorinated solvents. The Pd complexes 2a‐b have been satisfactorily tested for Mizoroki‐Heck arylation under fluorous biphasic catalysis conditions in that the Pd complexes 2a‐b are easily recovered and maintain good catalytic activity after 8 consecutive cycles (> 90% yield). The TGA studies indicate that the Pd complexes 2a‐b are thermally stable up to 300 °C.  相似文献

Well‐defined poly(3‐alkyl‐4‐benzamide) was synthesized by means of chain‐growth condensation polymerization of phenyl 3‐octyl‐4‐(4‐octyloxybenzyl(OOB)amino)benzoate ( 1c ) from initiator 2 , followed by removal of the OOB groups on amide nitrogen of poly 1c . Polymerization of 1c with phenyl 4‐(trifluoromethyl)benzoate ( 2b ) in the presence of 1,1,1,3,3,3‐hexamethyldisilazide (LiHMDS) and LiCl in THF at ?10 °C gave poly 1c with a narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn ≤ 1.08) and a well‐defined molecular weight (Mn = 4480–12,700) determined by the feed ratio of monomer to initiator (from 10 to 30). The OOB groups of poly 1c were removed with H2SO4 to give the corresponding N‐unsubstituted poly(p‐benzamide) (poly 1c′ ) with low polydispersity. The solublity of poly 1c′ in polar organic solvents was dramatically higher than that of poly(p‐benzamide), demonstrating that introduction of an alkyl group on the aromatic ring is very effective for improving the solubility of poly(p‐benzamide). © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Methoxy‐modified β‐diimines HL 1 and HL 2 reacted with Y(CH2SiMe3)3(THF)2 to afford the corresponding bis(alkyl)s [L1Y(CH2SiMe3)2] ( 1 ) and [L2Y(CH2SiMe3)2] ( 2 ), respectively. Amination of 1 with 2,6‐diisopropyl aniline gave the bis(amido) counterpart [L1Y{N(H)(2,6‐iPr2? C6H3)}2] ( 3 ), selectively. Treatment of Y(CH2SiMe3)3(THF)2 with methoxy‐modified anilido imine HL 3 yielded bis(alkyl) complex [L3Y(CH2SiMe3)2(THF)] ( 4 ) that sequentially reacted with 2,6‐diisopropyl aniline to give the bis(amido) analogue [L3Y{N(H)(2,6‐iPr2? C6H3)}2] ( 5 ). Complex 2 was “base‐free” monomer, in which the tetradentate β‐diiminato ligand was meridional with the two alkyl species locating above and below it, generating tetragonal bipyramidal core about the metal center. Complex 3 was asymmetric monomer containing trigonal bipyramidal core with trans‐arrangement of the amido ligands. In contrast, the two cis‐located alkyl species in complex 4 were endo and exo towards the O,N,N tridentate anilido‐imido moiety. The bis(amido) complex 5 was confirmed to be structural analogue to 4 albeit without THF coordination. All these yttrium complexes are highly active initiators for the ring‐opening polymerization of L ‐LA at room temperature. The catalytic activity of the complexes and their “single‐site” or “double‐site” behavior depend on the ligand framework and the geometry of the alkyl (amido) species in the corresponding complexes. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An efficient route to 2′,3′‐dihydro‐2′‐thioxospiro[indole‐3,6′‐[1,3]thiazin]‐2(1H)‐one derivatives is described. It involves the reaction of isatine, 1‐phenyl‐2‐(1,1,1‐triphenyl‐λ5‐phosphanylidene)ethan‐1‐one, and different amines in the presence of CS2 in dry MeOH at reflux (Scheme 1). The alkyl carbamodithioate, which results from the addition of the amine to CS2, is added to the α,β‐unsaturated ketone, resulting from the reaction between 1‐phenyl‐2‐(1,1,1‐triphenyl‐λ5‐phosphanylidene)ethan‐1‐one and isatine, to produce the 3′‐alkyl‐2′,3′‐dihydro‐4′‐phenyl‐2′‐thioxospiro[indole‐3,6′‐[1,3]thiazin]‐2(1H)‐one derivatives in excellent yields (Scheme 2). Their structures were corroborated spectroscopically (IR, 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR, and EI‐MS) and by elemental analyses.  相似文献

Reactions of (O=)PH(OCH2CH3)2 and BrMg(CH2)mCH=CH2 (4.9–3.2 equiv; m=4 ( a ), 5 ( b ), 6 ( c )) give the dialkylphosphine oxides (O=)PH[(CH2)mCH=CH2]2 ( 2 a – c ; 77–81 % after workup), which are treated with NaH and then α,ω‐dibromides Br(CH2)nBr (0.49–0.32 equiv; n=8 ( a′ ), 10 ( b′ ), 12 ( c′ ), 14 ( d′ )) to yield the bis(trialkylphosphine oxides) [H2C=CH(CH2)m]2P(=O)(CH2)n(O=)P[(CH2)mCH=CH2]2 ( 3 ab′ , 3 bc′ , 3 cd′ , 3 ca′ ; 79–84 %). Reactions of 3 bc′ and 3 ca′ with Grubbs’ first‐generation catalyst and then H2/PtO2 afford the dibridgehead diphosphine dioxides ( 4 bc′ , 4 ca′ ; 14–19 %, n′=2m+2); 31P NMR spectra show two stereoisomeric species (ca. 70:30). Crystal structures of two isomers of the latter are obtained, out,out‐ 4 ca′ and a conformer of in,out‐ 4 ca′ that features crossed chains, such that the (O=)P vectors appear out,out. Whereas 4 bc′ resists crystallization, a byproduct derived from an alternative metathesis mode, (CH2)12P (=O)(CH2)12(O=)P(C H2)12, as well as 3 ab′ and 3 bc′ , are structurally characterized. The efficiencies of other routes to dibridgehead diphosphorus compounds are compared.  相似文献

Reaction of (rac)‐3,3′‐bis(methoxymethyl)‐BINOL [H2(CH3OCH2)2BINO] with excess Ti(OiPr)4 and one equivalent of H2O in CH2Cl2 affords a trinuclear titanium(IV) complex [{(CH3OCH2)2BINO}Ti3(μ3‐O)(OiPr)6(μ2‐OiPr)2]. By dissolving it in dichloromethane and hexane and cooling to 0 °C, plate‐like pale yellow single crystals (monoclinic, P21/n, a = 12.605(3), b = 21.994(5), c = 19.090(4) Å, β = 92.764(8)°, V = 5286.2(19) Å3, T = 293(2) K) were obtained. Each oxygen atom at 2 or 2′ position of the (CH3OCH2)2BINO ligand bonds to only one titanium atom. There is no interaction between the third Ti atom and the two oxygen atoms of 3,3′‐bis(methoxymethyl)‐BINOLate.  相似文献

Thin films of crosslinked polymethylhydrosiloxane (PMHS) have been grafted on silica using the sol–gel process allowing further functionalization by effective quantitative hydrosilylation of SiH groups by olefins within the network. Postfunctionalization gives the polysiloxane network with n‐alkyl side chains. The PMHS coating was prepared by room temperature polycondensation of a mixture of methyldiethoxysilane HSiMe(OEt)2 monomer and triethoxysilane HSi(OEt)3 (TH) as crosslinker. The surface‐attached films are chemically stable and covalently bonded to the silica surface. Subsequently, films were functionalized without delamination. We showed by FTIR spectroscopy how the crosslinking ratio and the molecular size of the alkenes precursors influence the extent of the hydrosilylation reaction of SiH groups in the PMHS network. We have determined that quasi‐full olefin addition catalyzed by a platinum complex occurred within soft networks of less than 5% TH with 1‐alkenes CH2?CH(CH2)n‐2CH3 of various alkyl chain lengths (n = 5, 11, 17). Powders of PMHS gel were also modified with 1‐alkenes by hydrosilylation. The SiH groups within the soft gel (5% crosslinked) were fully functionalized as shown by 29Si and 1H solid‐state NMR. The structure of functionalized polysiloxane with n‐octadecyl and n‐dodecyl side chains was studied by FTIR, wide angle X‐ray diffraction, and DSC showing crystallization of the long n‐alkyl chains in the network. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Various silyl enol ethers were employed as quenchers for the living radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate with the R Cl/RuCl2(PPh3)3/Al(Oi–Pr)3 initiating system. The most effective quencher was a silyl enol ether with an electron‐donating phenyl group conjugated with its double bond [CH2C(OSiMe3)(4‐MeOPh) ( 2a )] that afforded a halogen‐free polymer with a ketone terminal at a high end functionality [n ∼ 1]. Such silyl compounds reacted with the growing radical generated from the dormant chloride terminal and the ruthenium complex to give the ketone terminal via the release of the silyl group along with the chlorine that originated from the dormant terminal. In contrast, less conjugated silyl enol ethers such as CH2C(OSiMe3)Me were less effective in quenching the polymerization. The reactivity of the silyl compounds to the poly(methyl methacrylate) radical can be explained by the reactivity of their double bonds, namely, the monomer reactivity ratios of their model vinyl monomers without the silyloxyl groups. The lifetime of the living polymer terminal was also estimated by the quenching reaction mediated with 2a . © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 38: 4735–4748, 2000  相似文献

1‐Pentynes containing different amino acid moieties and pendant terminal groups {HC?C(CH2)2CONHC(R′)HCO2CH3, where R′ = CH3, CH2CH(CH3)2, CH2C6H5, and HC?C(CH2)2CONHC[CH2CH(CH2)3]HCO2‐(1R,2S,5R)‐(+)‐menthol} have been designed and synthesized. The polymerizations of the monomers are effected by organorhodium catalysts, giving soluble polymers with moderate molecular weights in satisfactory yields. The structures and properties of the polymers have been characterized and evaluated with infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, thermogravimetric analysis, circular dichroism, and ultraviolet analyses. All the polymers are thermally stable (≥300 °C) and show strong circular dichroism signals at ~310 nm because of the helicity of the polyene backbone. A series of progression bands observed in the infrared spectra of nylon‐m/n and their model compounds have been interpreted in a new manner on the basis of simply coupled oscillator models of zigzag alkyl chains. Nylon‐m/n possesses the methylene sequences of (CH2)m and (CH2)n?2, and so the effective models of m and n ? 2 coupled oscillators, respectively, had previously been assumed for the methylene rocking–twisting mode, for example. However, the spectral patterns of progression bands predicted by this previously proposed model have been found to be inconsistent with those observed for many kinds of nylon samples with various m and n values. It is rather reasonable to assume that the effective numbers of oscillators should be m ? 2 and n ? 4 for the methylene rocking, twisting, and wagging modes of the (CH2)m and (CH2)n?2 sequences, respectively. In other words, the infrared progression bands observed for methylene local modes of nylon‐m/n may be interpreted reasonably with the data of n‐alkane molecules with the chemical formulae CH3(CH2)m?2CH3 and CH3(CH2)n?4CH3. For the C? C stretching modes, the equivalent n‐alkanes are CH3(CH2)m?1CH3 and CH3(CH2)n?3CH3, respectively. In the simply coupled oscillator model, the vibrational mode of one methylene group is represented by an oscillator, for example. Our new concept is to isolate the terminal oscillator adjacent to the amide group from the other oscillators in the inner parts of the methylene zigzag sequence. This corresponds to a physical situation in which the methylene group adjacent to the amide group shows a different vibrational behavior of larger amplitude than those of the inner methylene sequence, as supported by broad‐line NMR data and molecular dynamics calculations reported in the literature. Another possibility is a difference in the electron structure of the methylene unit adjacent to the amide group from that of the inner methylene sequence, resulting in a difference in the force constant and giving a vibrational decoupling between these two types of methylene units. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We first achieved the living cationic polymerization of azide‐containing monomer, 2‐azidoethyl vinyl ether (AzVE), with SnCl4 as a catalyst (activator) in conjunction with the HCl adduct of a vinyl ether [H‐CH2CH(OR)‐Cl; R ? CH2CH2Cl, CH2CH(CH3)2]. Despite the potentially poisoning azide group, the produced polymers possessed controlled molecular weights and fairly narrow distributions (Mw/Mn ~ 1.2) and gave block polymers with 2‐chloroethyl vinyl ether. The pendent azide groups are easily converted into various functional groups via mild and selective reactions, such as the Staudinger reduction and copper‐catalyzed azide‐alkyne 1,3‐cycloaddition (CuAAC; a “click” reaction). These reactions led to quantitative pendent functionalization into primary amine (? NH2), hydroxy (? OH), and carboxyl (? COOH) groups, at room temperature and without any acidic or basic treatment. Thus, poly(AzVE) is a versatile precursor for a wide variety of functional vinyl ether polymers with well‐defined structures and molecular weights. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 1,1‐Bis[4‐(4‐aminophenoxy)phenyl]‐1‐phenylethane (BAPPE) was prepared through nucleophilic substitution reaction of 1,1‐bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐1‐phenylethane and p‐chloronitrobenzene in the presence of K2CO3 in N,N‐dimethylformamide, followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C. Novel organosoluble polyimides and copolyimides were synthesized from BAPPE and six kinds of commercial dianhydrides, including pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA, Ia ), 3,3′,4,4′‐benzophenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA, Ib ), 3,3′,4,4′‐ biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride (BPDA, Ic ), 4,4′‐oxydiphthalic anhydride (ODPA, Id ), 3,3′,4,4′‐diphenylsulfonetetracarboxylic dianhydride (DSDA, Ie ) and 4,4′‐hexafluoroisopropylidenediphthalic anhydride (6FDA, If ). Differing with the conventional polyimide process by thermal cyclodehydration of poly(amic acid), when polyimides were prepared by chemical cyclodehydration with N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone as used solvent, resulted polymers showed good solubility. Additional, Ia,b were mixed respectively with the rest of dianhydrides (Ic–f) and BAPPE at certain molar ratios to prepare copolyimides with arbitrary solubilities. These polyimides and copolyimides were characterized by good mechanical properties together with good thermal stability. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The ring‐opening polymerization of trimethylene carbonate (TMC) using homoleptic lanthanide guanidinate complexes [RNC(NR′2)NR]3Ln as single component initiators has been fully investigated for the first time. The substituents on guanidinate ligands and center metals show great effect on the catalytic activities of these complexes, that is, ? N(CH2)5 > ? NiPr2 > ? NPh2 (for R′), ? Cy > ? iPr (for R), and Yb > Sm > Nd. Among them, [Ph2NC(NCy)2]3Yb shows the highest catalytic activity. Some features and kinetic behaviors of the TMC polymerization initiated by [Ph2NC(NCy)2]3Yb were studied in detail. The polymerization rate is first order, with the monomer concentration and Mn of the polymer increasing with the polymer yield increasing linearly. The results indicated the present system having “living character.” A mechanism that the polymerization occurs via acyl‐oxygen bond cleavage rather than alkyl‐oxygen bond cleavage was proposed. The copolymerization of TMC with ?‐caprolactone (ε‐CL) initiated by [Ph2NC(NCy)2]3Yb was also tested. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 43: 1778–1786, 2005  相似文献
