We have theoretically studied the collective modes of a quasi-two-dimensional (Q2D) Bose condensate in the large gas parameter regime by using a formalism which treats the interaction energy beyond the mean-field approximation. 以非线性Rosen-Zener隧穿理论为基础,用两分量Bose-Einstein凝聚体设计了非线性Ramsey干涉计.通过数值模拟实验在时间域上观察到了丰富的Ramsey干涉图样,凝聚体中原子间重要的非线性相互作用导致这些干涉图样明显不同于线性Ramsey干涉时的正弦型条纹.通过进一步对干涉图样作Fourier分析,发现干涉图样的基频能够精确反映系统的非线性和不对称性特征,从而为测量原子的相关性质提供了理论依据. 关键词: Bose-Einstein凝聚 非线性Ramsey干涉 Rosen-Zener隧穿  相似文献

We investigate radiation spectra arising from accelerated point-like impurities in the homogeneous Bose-Einstein condensate. A general formula for the radiation spectrum is obtained in the integral form as a function of given impurity trajectory within the Bogoliubov approximation. The Planckian spectrum is obtained for a special accelerated motion, which is shown to be unphysical. Non-Planckian spectrum is found in the case of a uniformly accelerated impurity. We compare our result with similar settings discussed in other quantum systems.  相似文献

We study, by means of a variational method, the stability of a condensate in a magnetically trapped atomic Bose gas with a negative scattering length and find that the condensate is unstable in general. However, for temperatures sufficiently close to the critical temperature the condensate turns out to be metastable. For that case we determine in the usual WKB approximation the decay rate of the condensate due to macroscopic quantum fluctuations. When appropriate, we also calculate the decay rate due to thermal fluctuations. An important feature of our approach is that (nonsingular) phase fluctuations of the condensate are taken into account exactly.  相似文献

Based on the experimental device which is a non-uniform magnetic field to trap an atom, we show how to obtain a certain velocity of a Bose gas by controlling the magnetic coils. By comparing the relationship of the different current supply and delay time versus the ultimate velocity of the atom, we theoretically predict the method of accelerating the gases to an expected velocity. This method is of great convenience and significance for the applications in cold atom physics and precision measurements.  相似文献

We have studied the Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) of an interacting Bose gas confined in a two-dimensional (2D) quartic potential by using a mean-field, semiclassical two-fluid model. A thermodynamic analysis including the chemical potential, condensate fraction, total energy, and specific heat has been carried out by considering different values of the interaction strength. Finally, we have found that the behaviour of the condensate fraction and specific heat of quartically trapped bosons differs from those of bosons trapped in a harmonic potential.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that for a non-ideal Bose gas there exists an upper limit on the transition temperature above which Bose-Einstein condensation cannot occur regardless of the pressure applied. Such upper limits for some realistic Bose gases are estimated.  相似文献

We have studied the ground state configurations of a rotating Bose-Einstein condensation in a toroidal trap as the radius of the central Gaussian potential expands adiabatically. Firstly, we observe that the vortices are devoured successively into the central hole of the condensate to form a giant vortex as the radius of the trap expands. When all the pre-existing vortices are absorbed, the angular momentum of the system still increase as the radius of the
gaussian potential enlarges. When increasing the interaction strength, we find that more singly quantized vortices are squeezed into the condensate, but the giant vortex does not change.  相似文献

Polarized neutron reflectivity has been used to investigate the peak pattern and the magnetization reversal process of laterally structured Fe- and CoFe-films. The peak pattern of the wire arrays was analyzed in the specular as well as in the off-specular regime. The intensities of the different cross-sections at the off-specular first-order peak were investigated as a function of external magnetic field. Magnetization reversals are discussed and compared to MOKE studies of the same system.  相似文献

The collective modes of a rotating Bose-Einstein condensate confined in an attractive quadratic plus quartic trap are investigated. Assuming the presence of a large number of vortices we apply the diffused vorticity approach to the system. We then use the sum rule technique for the calculation of collective frequencies, comparing the results with the numerical solution of the linearized hydrodynamic equations. Numerical solutions also show the existence of low-frequency multipole modes which are interpreted as vortex oscillations.  相似文献

We report on new experiments at Turku where two-dimensional atomic hydrogen gas has been compressed magnetically to high degrees of quantum degeneracy on the surface of liquid 4He at about 200 mK. The results are in good agreement with our earlier observations: The probability of 3-body dipolar recombination is found to decrease gradually by an order of magnitude but to show no levelling yet, when the 2D phase-space density increases from 3 to 9. This effect is attributed mainly to a decrease in the local 3-particle correlator caused by the appearance and growth of a more or less local 2D condensate. The roles of interactions and out-of-plane delocalization of adsorbed H atoms are also discussed.  相似文献
