The ternary indium compounds RE4Pd10In21 (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm) were synthesized from the elements in glassy carbon crucibles in a high‐frequency furnace. Single crystals of Sm4Pd10In21 were obtained from an indium flux. An arc‐melted precursor alloy of the starting composition ~SmPd3In6 was annealed with a slight excess of indium at 1200 K followed by slow cooling (5 K/h) to 870 K. All compounds were investigated by X‐ray powder diffraction and the structures were refined from single crystal diffractometer data. The RE4Pd10In21 indides are isotypic with Ho4Ni10Ga21, space group C2/m: a = 2314.3(2), b = 454.70(7), c = 1940.7(2) pm, β = 133.43(2)°, wR2 = 0.0681, 1678 F2 values for La4Pd10In21, a = 2308.2(1), b = 452.52(4), c = 1944.80(9) pm, β = 133.40(1)°, wR2 = 0.0659, 1684 F2 values for Ce4Pd10In21, a = 2303.8(2), b = 450.78(4), c = 1940.6(1) pm, β = 133.39(1)°, wR2 = 0.0513, 1648 F2 values for Pr4Pd10In21, a = 2300.2(2), b = 449.75(6), c = 1937.8(2) pm, β = 133.32(1)°, wR2 = 0.1086, 1506 F2 values for Nd4Pd10In21, and a = 2295.6(2), b = 447.07(4), c = 1935.7(1) pm, β = 133.16(1)°, wR2 = 0.2291, 2350 F2 values for Sm4Pd10In21, with 108 variables per refinement. All palladium atoms have a trigonal prismatic coordination. The strongest bonding interactions occur for the Pd—In and In—In contacts. The structures are composed of covalently bonded three‐dimensional [Pd10In21] networks in which the rare earth metal atoms fill distorted pentagonal channels. The crystal chemistry and chemical bonding in these indides is briefly discussed. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show diamagnetism for La4Pd10In21 and Curie‐Weiss paramagnetism for Ce4Pd10In21, Pr4Pd10In21, and Nd4Pd10In21. The neodymium compound orders antiferromagnetically at TN = 4.5(2) K and undergoes a metamagnetic transition at a critical field of 1.5(2) T. All the RE4Pd10In21 indides studied are metallic conductors.  相似文献

New auride Ca3Au3In was synthesized from the elements in a sealed tantalum tube in a high‐frequency furnace. Ca3Au3In was investigated by X‐ray powder and single crystal diffraction: ordered Ni4B3 type, Pnma, a = 1664.1(6), b = 457.3(2), c = 895.0(3) pm, wR2 = 0.0488, 1361 F2 values, and 44 variables. The three crystallographically independent boron positions of the Ni4B3 type are occupied by the gold atoms, while the four nickel sites are occupied by calcium and indium in an ordered manner. All gold atoms have trigonal prismatic coordination, i.e. Ca6 prisms for Au1 and Au2 and Ca4In2 prisms for Au3. While the Au3 atoms are isolated, we observe Au1–Au1 and Au2–Au2 zig‐zag chains at Au–Au distances of 292 and 284 pm. These slabs resemble the CrB type structure of CaAu. Consequently Ca3Au3In can be considered as a ternary auride. Together the Au2, Au3 and indium atoms build up a three‐dimensional [Au2In] polyanionic network (281–293 pm Au–In) in which the chains of Au1 centered trigonal prisms are embedded. The crystal chemical similarities with the structures of Ni4B3, CaAuIn, and CaAu are discussed.  相似文献

The ternary indides Sc5 Ni2 In4 and Sc5 Rh2 In4 were synthesized by arc‐melting of the elements and subsequent annealing. A structural investigation by X‐ray powder and single crystal diffraction revealed: Lu5 Ni2 In4 type, Pbam, a = 1716.3(2), b = 755.1(1), c = 335.22(5) pm, wR2 = 0.0721, 844 F2 values for Sc5 Ni2 In4, and a = 1754.3(3), b = 765.0(1), c = 332.97(6) pm, wR2 = 0.0363, 1107 F2 values for Sc5 Rh2 In4 with 36 variables per refinement. Both structures can be described as intergrowths of distorted AlB2‐ and CsCl‐related slabs, where the transition metal (T) atoms have a trigonal prismatic and the indium atoms a distorted square prismatic coordination. The shortest interatomic distances occur for Sc T and T In. The crystal chemistry and chemical bonding in these intermetallics are briefly discussed. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A ternary boride Ga2Ni21B20, with modified Zn2Ni21B20-type structure (space group I4/mmm, and lattice parameters a = 7.2164(1) Å, c = 14.2715(4) Å), was synthesized from the constituent elements. Single crystal diffraction data reveal Ni at 8f site splitting into 16m position with nearly half occupancy. In this structure, [Ni6B20] cages share ligand boron atoms with [Ga2B4Ni9] hexa-capped square prisms, forming two dimensional layers. Layers are interconnected via Ga−Ni interactions and build up a three-dimensional framework. Quasi-two-dimensional infinite planar nets formed by intercrossed Ni atoms are embedded. Ga2Ni21B20 is a metallic Pauli paramagnet, in agreement with electronic structure calculations, resulting in 8.2 states eV−1 f.u−1 at the Fermi level.  相似文献

The isotypic indides RE4Pt10In21 (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Nd) were prepared by melting mixtures of the elements in an arc‐furnace under an argon atmosphere. Single crystals were synthesized in tantalum ampoules using special temperature modes. The four samples were studied by powder and single crystal X‐ray diffraction: Ho4Ni10Ga21 type, C2/m, a = 2305.8(2), b = 451.27(4), c = 1944.9(2) pm, β = 133.18(7)°, wR2 = 0.045, 2817 F2 values, 107 variables for La4Pt10In21, a = 2301.0(2), b = 448.76(4), c = 1941.6(2) pm, β = 133.050(8)°, wR2 = 0.056, 3099 F2 values, 107 variables for Ce4Pt10In21, a = 2297.4(2), b = 447.4(4), c = 1939.7(2) pm, β = 132.95(1)°, wR2 = 0.059, 3107 F2 values, 107 variables for Pr4Pt10In21, and a = 2294.7(4), b = 446.1(1), c = 1938.7(3) pm, β = 132.883(9)°, wR2 = 0.067, 2775 F2 values, 107 variables for Nd4Pt10In21. The 8j In2 positions of all structures have been refined with a split model. The In1 sites of the lanthanum and the cerium compound show small defects, leading to the refined composition La4Pt10In20.966(6) and Ce4Pt10In20.909(6) for the investigated crystals. The same position shows Pt/In mixing in the praseodymium and neodymium compound leading to the refined compositions Pr4Pt10.084(9)In20.916(9) and Nd4Pt10.050(9)In20.950(9). All platinum atoms have a tricapped trigonal prismatic coordination by rare‐earth metal and indium atoms. The shortest interatomic distances occur for Pt–In followed by In–In. Together, the platinum and indium atoms build up three‐dimensional [Pt10In21] networks in which the rare earth atoms fill distorted pentagonal tubes. The crystal chemistry of RE4Pt10In21 is discussed and compared with the RE4Pd10In21 indides and isotypic gallides.  相似文献

Polycrystalline Sm4Ni11In20 was obtained by arc-melting of metal ingots. A subsequent high temperature treatment was used for single crystal growth. The Sm4Ni11In20 crystal structure (U4Ni11Ga20 type; C2/m, a = 22.5457(3) Å, b = 4.34929(5) Å, c = 16.5479(2) Å, β = 124.592(2)°, R1 = 0.0358, wR2 = 0.0934) was determined by single crystal synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction from 2014 independent reflections with I > 2σ(I). Sm4Ni11In20 extends the R 4Ni11In20 (R = Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho) series of phases. The R 4Ni11In20 and RNi3In6 (LaNi3In6 type; R = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Eu) series have similar compositions. Their structures share similar fragments; in particular the rare earth atom coordination polyhedra are pentagonal prisms with additional atoms.   相似文献

The two isomorphous title compounds, [1,5,9‐tris(2‐aminoethoxy)‐3,7,11‐trihydroxy‐3,7,11‐tribora‐1,5,9‐triborata‐2,4,6,8,10,12‐hexaoxa‐13‐oxoniatricyclo[7.3.1.05,13]tridecane]cobalt(II), [Co(C6H21B6N3O13)] or Co{B6O7(OH)3[O(CH2)2NH2]3}, and the NiII analogue, [Ni(C6H21B6N3O13)], each consist of an MII cation and an inorganic–organic hybrid {B6O7(OH)3[O(CH2)2NH2]3}2− anion. The MII cation lies on a crystallographic threefold axis (as does one O atom) and is octahedrally coordinated by three N atoms from the organic component. Three O atoms covalently link the B–O cluster and the organic component. Molecules are connected to one another through N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a three‐dimensional supramolecular network.  相似文献

Reduction of aluminum(III), gallium(III), and indium(III) phthalocyanine chlorides by sodium fluorenone ketyl in the presence of tetrabutylammonium cations yielded crystalline salts of the type (Bu4N+)2[MIII(HFl−O)(Pc.3−)].−(Br) ⋅ 1.5 C6H4Cl2 [M=Al ( 1 ), Ga ( 2 ); HFl−O=fluoren‐9‐olato anion; Pc=phthalocyanine] and (Bu4N+) [InIIIBr(Pc.3−)].− ⋅ 0.875 C6H4Cl2 ⋅ 0.125 C6H14 ( 3 ). The salts were found to contain Pc.3− radical anions with negatively charged phthalocyanine macrocycles, as evidenced by the presence of intense bands of Pc.3− in the near‐IR region and a noticeable blueshift in both the Q and Soret bands of phthalocyanine. The metal(III) atoms coordinate HFl−O anions in 1 and 2 with short Al−O and Ga−O bond lengths of 1.749(2) and 1.836(6) Å, respectively. The C−O bonds [1.402(3) and 1.391(11) Å in 1 and 2 , respectively] in the HFl−O anions are longer than the same bond in the fluorenone ketyl (1.27–1.31 Å). Salts 1 – 3 show effective magnetic moments of 1.72, 1.66, and 1.79 μB at 300 K, respectively, owing to the presence of unpaired S= 1/2 spins on Pc.3−. These spins are coupled antiferromagnetically with Weiss temperatures of −22, −14, and −30 K for 1 – 3 , respectively. Coupling can occur in the corrugated two‐dimensional phthalocyanine layers of 1 and 2 with an exchange interaction of J /k B=−0.9 and −1.1 K, respectively, and in the π‐stacking {[InIIIBr(Pc.3−)].−}2 dimers of 3 with an exchange interaction of J /k B=−10.8 K. The salts show intense electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) signals attributed to Pc.3−. It was found that increasing the size of the central metal atom strongly broadened these EPR signals.  相似文献

The ternary indides RE10Ni9+xIn20 (RE = Tb, Dy) were synthesized from the elements by arc‐melting under argon and subsequent annealing. YbNiIn2 was prepared in a sealed tantalum tube in a water‐cooled sample chamber of a high‐frequency furnace. X‐ray powder and single crystal data revealed isotypism with the tetragonal Ho10Ni9In20 type structure, space group P4/nmm for the RE10Ni9+xIn20 compounds: a = 1337.0(2), c = 909.5(2) pm, wR2 = 0.0527, 1795 F2 values, 65 variables for RE = Tb, and a = 1333.63(7), c = 907.2(1) pm, wR2 = 0.0590, 1346 F2 values, 65 variables for RE = Dy. Both indides show an additional nickel site (Ni4) with partial nickel occupancy leading to the refined compositions Tb10Ni9.34(2)In20 and Dy10Ni9.32(2)In20. YbNiIn2 adopts the orthorhombic MgCuAl2‐type structure: Cmcm, a = 430.67(9), b = 1033.0(2), c = 758.1(1) pm, wR2 = 0.0262, 424 F2 values and 16 variable parameters. The crystal chemistry of the RE10Ni9+xIn20 and RENiIn2 compounds is briefly discussed.  相似文献

Sc2Ni2In was prepared by a reaction of the elemental components in an are furnace and subsequent annealing at 1070 K. Sc2Ni2In is a Pauli paramagnet and a poor metallic conductor with a specific resistivity of 224 mΩcm at room temperature. Its crystal structure was refined from X-ray powder data: P4/mbm, a = 716.79(1) pm, c = 333.154(8) pm, Z = 2, Rwp = 0.040, and RB(I) = 0.026. Sc2Ni2In crystallizes with a ternary ordered version of the U3Si2-type structure. The nickel and indium atoms occupy [NiSc6] trigonal prisms and [InSc8] square prisms, respectively. These structural fragments are derived from the AlB2 and CsCl-type structures. Semi-empirical band structure calculations reveal Sc2Ni2In to be a nickelide, and the strongest bonding interactions are found for the Sc? Ni contacts, followed by Sc? In and Ni? In. A rigidband model suggests the existence of the isotypic phase Sc2Ni2Sb.  相似文献

The title compounds were prepared from the elemental components in a lithium flux. Their crystal structure was determined for the ytterbium compound from single-crystal X-ray data. It is orthorhombic, Pmm2, a = 352.88(6) pm, b = 1 143.0(3) pm, c = 366.16(6) pm, Z = 1, R = 0.020 for 1 261 structure factors and 29 variable parameters. The structure may be viewed as an intergrowth of slabs consisting of the CeNiC2 and the ScC (NaCl type) structures. It thus contains C2 pairs with a C? C distance of 138(1) pm and isolated carbon atoms. Together with the nickel atoms the C2 pairs form one-dimensionally infinite building elements [Ni2C4]n. The fifth carbon atom is octahedrally coordinated by ytterbium atoms. Accordingly the compound may be rationalized to a first approximation with the formula (Yb3+)4[Ni2C48?]C4?. Yb4Ni2C5 shows Curie-Weiss behaviour with a magnetic moment of μexp = 4.44 μB per ytterbium atom in good agreement with the theoretical moment of μeff = 4.53 μB for Yb3+.  相似文献

The NiII complexes [Ni([9]aneNS2‐CH3)2]2+ ([9]aneNS2‐CH3=N‐methyl‐1‐aza‐4,7‐dithiacyclononane), [Ni(bis[9]aneNS2‐C2H4)]2+ (bis[9]aneNS2‐C2H4=1,2‐bis‐(1‐aza‐4,7‐dithiacyclononylethane) and [Ni([9]aneS3)2]2+ ([9]aneS3=1,4,7‐trithiacyclononane) have been prepared and can be electrochemically and chemically oxidized to give the formal NiIII products, which have been characterized by X‐ray crystallography, UV/Vis and multi‐frequency EPR spectroscopy. The single‐crystal X‐ray structure of [NiIII([9]aneNS2‐CH3)2](ClO4)6?(H5O2)3 reveals an octahedral co‐ordination at the Ni centre, while the crystal structure of [NiIII(bis[9]aneNS2‐C2H4)](ClO4)6?(H3O)3? 3H2O exhibits a more distorted co‐ordination. In the homoleptic analogue, [NiIII([9]aneS3)2](ClO4)3, structurally characterized at 30 K, the Ni? S distances [2.249(6), 2.251(5) and 2.437(2) Å] are consistent with a Jahn–Teller distorted octahedral stereochemistry. [Ni([9]aneNS2‐CH3)2](PF6)2 shows a one‐electron oxidation process in MeCN (0.2 M NBu4PF6, 293 K) at E1/2=+1.10 V versus Fc+/Fc assigned to a formal NiIII/NiII couple. [Ni(bis[9]aneNS2‐C2H4)](PF6)2 exhibits a one‐electron oxidation process at E1/2=+0.98 V and a reduction process at E1/2=?1.25 V assigned to NiII/NiIII and NiII/NiI couples, respectively. The multi‐frequency X‐, L‐, S‐, K‐band EPR spectra of the 3+ cations and their 86.2 % 61Ni‐enriched analogues were simulated. Treatment of the spin Hamiltonian parameters by perturbation theory reveals that the SOMO has 50.6 %, 42.8 % and 37.2 % Ni character in [Ni([9]aneNS2‐CH3)2]3+, [Ni(bis[9]aneNS2‐C2H4)]3+ and [Ni([9]aneS3)2]3+, respectively, consistent with DFT calculations, and reflecting delocalisation of charge onto the S‐thioether centres. EPR spectra for [61Ni([9]aneS3)2]3+ are consistent with a dynamic Jahn–Teller distortion in this compound.  相似文献

Crystalline samples of La3Ni2B2N3 were synthesized using solid state metathesis reactions from combinations of La, LaCl3, NiCl2 together with Li3BN2. The structure was determined by single crystal X‐ray diffraction (I4/mmm (No. 139), a = 372.95(2) pm, c = 2056.3(2) pm, R1 = 0.027, wR2 = 0.062) and confirmed earlier results from neutron powder diffraction. La3Ni2B2N3 contains BN units capping square planar Ni layers. Isolated nitrogen atoms reside in La6 octahedra. Magnetic measurements on several bulk samples exhibit superconductivity at temperatures below 14.6 K.  相似文献

New indides Ce3Ge0.66In4.34 and Ce11Ge4.74In5.26 were synthesized from the elements by arc‐melting and subsequent annealing at 870 K. Single crystals were grown through special annealing procedures in sealed tantalum tubes in a high‐frequency furnace. Both compounds were investigated on the basis of X‐ray powder and single crystal data: I4/mcm, La3GeIn4 type, a = 848.8(1), c = 1192.0(2) pm, Z = 4, wR2 = 0.0453, 499 F2 values, 17 variables for Ce3Ge0.66In4.34 and I4/mmm, Sm11Ge4In6 type (ordered version of the Ho11Ge10 type), a = 1199.3(2), c = 1662.0(3) pm, wR2 = 0.0507, 1217 F2 values, 41 variables for Ce11Ge4.74In5.26. The Ce3Ge0.66In4.34 structure shows a mixed Ge/In occupancy on the 4c Wyckoff position. This site is octahedrally coordinated by cerium atoms. These octahedra share all edges, leading to a three‐dimensional network. The latter is penetrated by a two‐dimensional indium substructure which consists of flattened tetrahedra at In–In distances of 291 and 300 pm. The Ce11Ge4.74In5.26 structure contains three crystallographically independent germanium sites. The latter are coordinated by eight or nine cerium neighbors. These CN8 and CN9 polyhedra are condensed to a complex network which is penetrated by a three‐dimensional indium network with In–In distances of 301–314 pm. The 16m site shows a mixed In/Ge occupancy. Chemical bonding in both compounds is dominated by the p elements. Both ternaries studied exhibit localized magnetism due to the presence of Ce3+ ions. The compound Ce3GeIn4 remains paramagnetic down to 1.72 K, whereas Ce11Ge4In6 orders ferromagnetically at TC = 7.5 K.  相似文献

During an investigation of the phase equilibria in the ternary system Ni/P/Sn, the existence of a new phase Ni21Sn2P6 with a composition close to the known Ni10P3Sn phase was found. The crystal structure of the new phase was determined using single crystal X‐ray diffraction. The structure was solved employing Patterson and Difference Fourier Analysis. Ni21P6Sn2 (space group , a = 1112.2 pm) crystallizes in an ordered variant of the C6Cr23 structure common to many carbides, borides and phosphides. The relation between Ni21Sn2P6 and other C6Cr23 type phases and to Ni10P3Sn was established.  相似文献

Heterobimetallic complexes of formula [M{(PPh2)2C2B9H10}(S2C2B10H10)M′(PPh3)] (M=Pd, Pt; M′=Au, Ag, Cu) and [Ni{(PPh2)2C2B9H10}(S2C2B10H10)Au(PPh3)] were obtained from the reaction of [M{(PPh2)2C2B10H10}(S2C2B10H10)] (M=Pd, Pt) with [M′(PPh3)]+ (M′=Au, Ag, Cu) or by one‐pot synthesis from [(SH)2C2B10H10], (PPh2)2C2B10H10, NiCl2 ? 6 H2O, and [Au(PPh3)]+. They display d8–d10 intermetallic interactions and emit red light in the solid state at 77 K. Theoretical studies on [M{(PPh2)2C2B9H10}(S2C2B10H10)Au(PPh3)] (M=Pd, Pt, Ni) attribute the luminescence to ligand (thiolate, L)‐to‐“P2‐M‐S2” (ML′) charge‐transfer (LML′CT) transitions for M=Pt and to metal (M)‐to‐“P2‐M‐S2” (ML′) charge‐transfer (MML′CT) transitions for M=Ni, Pd.  相似文献

Homoleptic perhalophenyl derivatives of divalent nickel complexes with the general formula [NBu4]2[NiII (C6X5)4] [X=F ( 1 ), Cl ( 2 )] have been prepared by low‐temperature treatment of the halo‐complex precursor [NBu4]2[NiBr4] with the corresponding organolithium reagent LiC6X5. Compounds 1 and 2 are electrochemically related by reversible one‐electron exchange processes with the corresponding organometallate(III) compounds [NBu4][NiIII (C6X5)4] [X=F ( 3 ), Cl ( 4 )]. The potentials of the [NiIII (C6X5)4]?/[NiII (C6X5)4]2? couples are +0.07 and ?0.11 V for X=F or Cl, respectively. Compounds 3 and 4 have also been prepared and isolated in good yield by chemical oxidation of 1 or 2 with bromine or the amminium salt [N(C6H4Br‐4)3][SbCl6]. The [NiIII (C6X5)4]? species have SP‐4 structures in the salts 3 and 4 , as established by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction methods. The [NiII (C6F5)4]2? ion in the parent compound 1 has also been found to exhibit a rather similar SP‐4 structure. According to their SP‐4 geometry, the NiIII compounds (d7) behave as S=1/2 systems both at microscopic (EPR) and macroscopic levels (ac and dc magnetization measurements). The spin Hamiltonian parameters obtained from the analysis of the magnetic behavior of 3 and 4 within the framework of ligand field theory show that the unpaired electron is centered mainly on the metal atom, with >97 % estimated d contribution. Thermal decomposition of 3 and 4 proceeds with formation of the corresponding C6X5? C6X5 coupling compounds.  相似文献

Neutron diffraction, at 2 K, of R-NiF3 indicates the formulation approaches NiIINiIVF6, with NiII − F = 1.959(3) and NiIV − F = 1.811(3) Å, but 295 K data allow for only a slight increase in any NiIII. Relatives have been precipitated from liquid anhydrous HF, at ≤ 20 °C, by adding K2NiF6 to M(SbF6)2 (M = Co, Cu, Zn) or M(AsF6)2 (M = Fe). CuNiF6 like NiNiF6 is metastable and loses F2 easily, above 40 °C. CuNiF6 is reduced by Xe or C3F6 at −20 °C; CoNiF6 by H2 at 350 °C, each giving pseudo-rutile MNiF4. Magnetic data indicate the dominant formulation is MIINiIVF6 (Ni(IV) low spin d6) with field dependence in CoNiF6 (≤ 220 K) and FeNiF6 (≤ 295 K).  相似文献

The indium oxide‐borate In4O2B2O7 was synthesized under high‐pressure/high‐temperature conditions at 12.5 GPa/1420 K using a Walker‐type multianvil apparatus. Single‐crystal X‐ray structure elucidation showed edge‐sharing OIn4 tetrahedra and B2O7 units building up the oxide‐borate. It crystallizes with Z = 8 in the monoclinic space group P21/n (no. 14) with a = 1016.54(3), b = 964.55(3), c = 1382.66(4) pm, and β = 109.7(1)°. The compound was also characterized by powder X‐ray diffraction and vibrational spectroscopy.  相似文献
