We study the interior and exterior contact problems for hemitropic elastic solids. We treat the cases when the friction effects, described by Tresca friction (given friction model), are taken into consideration either on some part of the boundary of the body or on the whole boundary. We equivalently reduce these problems to a boundary variational inequality with the help of the Steklov–Poincaré type operator. Based on our boundary variational inequality approach we prove existence and uniqueness theorems for weak solutions. We prove that the solutions continuously depend on the data of the original problem and on the friction coefficient. For the interior problem, necessary and sufficient conditions of solvability are established when friction is taken into consideration on the whole boundary.  相似文献

A static frictional contact problem between an elasto-plastic body and a rigid foundation is considered. The material’s behavior is described by the nonlinear elastic constitutive Hencky’s law. The contact is modeled with the Signorini condition and a version of Coulomb’s law in which the coefficient of friction depends on the slip. The existence of a weak solution is proved by using Schauder’s fixed-point theorem combined with arguments of abstract variational inequalities. Afterward, a successive iteration technique, based on the Ka?anov method, to solve the problem numerically is proposed, and its convergence is established. Then, to improve the conditioning of the iterative problem, an appropriate Augmented Lagrangian formulation is used and that will lead us to Uzawa block relaxation method in every iteration. Finally, numerical experiments of two-dimensional test problems are carried out to illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper we examine an evolution problem which describes the dynamic bilateral contact of a viscoelastic body and a foundation. The contact is modeled by a friction multivalued subdifferential boundary condition which incorporates the Coulomb law of friction, the SJK model and the orthotropic friction law. The main result concerns the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions to the hyperbolic variational inequality when the friction coefficient is sufficiently small. The proof is based on a surjectivity result for multivalued operators and a fixed point argument. A scalar contact problem with friction governed by the Yukawa equation is reduced to a boundary variational inequality. The presence of the non‐differentiable friction functional causes some difficulties when approximated. We present two methods to overcome this difficulty. The first one is a regularization leading to a non‐linear boundary variational equation, for which we propose an iterative procedure, whereas the second method is based on the boundary mixed variational formulation involving Lagrange multipliers. We propose Uzawa's algorithm to compute the saddle point of the corresponding boundary Lagrangian and investigate the discretization of various formulations by the boundary element Galerkin method. Convergence of the boundary element solution is proved and a convergence order is obtained. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We prove the existence of a solution for an elastic frictional, quasistatic, contact problem with a Signorini non-penetration condition and a local Coulomb friction law. The problem is formulated as a time-dependent variational problem and is solved by the aid of an established shifting technique used to obtain increased regularity at the contact surface. The analysis is carried out by the aid of auxiliary problems involving regularized friction terms and a so-called normal compliance penalization technique. \par Accepted 15 May 2000. We consider a mathematical model which describes the dynamic evolution of a viscoelastic body in frictional contact with an obstacle. The contact is modelled with normal compliance and unilateral constraint, associated to a rate slip-dependent version of Coulomb’s law of dry friction. In order to approximate the contact conditions, we consider a regularized problem wherein the contact is modelled by a standard normal compliance condition without finite penetrations. For each problem, we derive a variational formulation and an existence result of the weak solution of the regularized problem is obtained. Next, we prove the convergence of the weak solution of the regularized problem to the weak solution of the initial nonregularized problem. Then, we introduce a fully discrete approximation of the variational problem based on a finite element method and on a second order time integration scheme. The solution of the resulting nonsmooth and nonconvex frictional contact problems is presented, based on approximation by a sequence of nonsmooth convex programming problems. Finally, some numerical simulations are provided in order to illustrate both the behaviour of the solution related to the frictional contact conditions and the convergence result.  相似文献

We consider here a mathematical model describing the bilateral frictional contact between a thermo‐piezoelectric body and a thermally conductive foundation. We model the behavior of the material with a linear thermo‐electro‐elastic constitutive law. The process is assumed to be quasistatic and the contact is modeled with a nonlocal version of Coulomb's dry friction law, in which the frictional heat generated in the process, is taken into account. We drive a variational formulation of the problem and establish the existence of its weak solution.  相似文献

We consider a mathematical model which describes the frictional contact between an electro-elastic–visco-plastic body and a conductive foundation. The contact is modelled with normal compliance and a version of Coulomb’s law of dry friction, in which the stiffness and the friction coefficients depend on the electric potential. We derive a variational formulation of the problem and we prove an existence and uniqueness result. The proof is based on a recent existence and uniqueness result on history-dependent quasivariational inequalities obtained in [15]. Then we introduce a fully discrete scheme for solving the problem and, under certain solution regularity assumptions, we derive an optimal order error estimate. Finally, we present some numerical results in the study of a two-dimensional test problem which describes the process of contact in a microelectromechanical switch.  相似文献

The existence result in linear elasticity obtained for the quasistatic problem of unilateral contact with regularized Coulomb friction is extented to a local friction problem. After discretizing the implicit variational inequality with respect to time, we have to solve a sequence of variational inequalities similar to the one of the static problem. If the friction coefficient is small enough, we show the existence of the incremental solution. We construct a suitable sequence of functions converging towards a quasistatic solution of the problem.  相似文献

We consider a mathematical model which describes the quasistatic contact between a viscoelastic body and a foundation. The material’s behaviour is modelled with a constitutive law with long memory. The contact is frictional and is modelled with normal compliance and memory term, associated to the Coulomb’s law of dry friction. We present the classical formulation of the problem, list the assumptions on the data and derive a variational formulation of the model. Then we prove the unique weak solvability of the problem. The proof is based on arguments of history-dependent variational inequalities. We also study the dependence of the weak solution with respect to the data and prove a convergence result.  相似文献

We consider a quasistatic contact problem between a viscoplasticbody and an obstacle, the so-called foundation. The contactis modelled with normal compliance and the associated versionof Coulomb's law of dry friction. We derive a variational formulationof the problem and, under a smallness assumption on the normalcompliance functions, we establish the existence of a weak solutionto the model. The proof is carried out in several steps. Itis based on a time-discretization method, arguments of monotonicityand compactness, Banach fixed point theorem and Schauder fixedpoint theorem.  相似文献

Several fixed point strategies and Uzawa algorithms (for classical and augmented Lagrangian formulations) are presented to solve the unilateral contact problem with Coulomb friction. These methods are analysed, without introducing any regularization, and a theoretical comparison is performed. Thanks to a formalism coming from convex analysis, some new fixed point strategies are presented and compared with known methods. The analysis is first performed on continuous Tresca problem and then on the finite dimensional Coulomb problem derived from an arbitrary finite element method. We study a mathematical model which describes the antiplane shear deformations of a cylinder in frictional contact with a rigid foundation. The process is static, the material behavior is described with a linearly elastic constitutive law and friction is modeled with a general slip dependent subdifferential boundary condition. We derive a variational formulation of the model which is in a form of a hemivariational inequality for the displacement field. Then we prove the existence of a weak solution to the model and, under additional assumptions, its uniqueness. The proofs are based on abstract results for operator inclusions in Banach spaces. Finally, we present concrete examples of friction laws for which our results are valid.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of a general dynamic variational–hemivariational inequality with history-dependent operators. These operators appear in a convex potential and in a locally Lipschitz superpotential. The existence and uniqueness of a solution to the inequality problem is explored through a result on a class of nonlinear evolutionary abstract inclusions involving a nonmonotone multivalued term described by the Clarke generalized gradient. The result presented in this paper is new and general. It can be applied to study various dynamic contact problems. As an illustrative example, we apply the theory on a dynamic frictional viscoelastic contact problem in which the contact is modeled by a nonmonotone Clarke subdifferential boundary condition and the friction is described by a version of the Coulomb law of dry friction with the friction bound depending on the total slip.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study an evolution variational inequality that generalizes some contact problems with Coulomb friction in small deformation elasticity. Using an incremental procedure, appropriate estimates and convergence properties of the discrete solutions, the existence of a continuous solution is proved. This abstract result is applied to quasistatic contact problems with a local Coulomb friction law for nonlinear Hencky and also for linearly elastic materials.  相似文献

This paper deals with the numerical solution of the wheel - rail rolling contact problems. The unilateral dynamic contact problem between a rigid wheel and a viscoelastic rail lying on a rigid foundation is considered. The contact with the generalized Coulomb friction law occurs at a portion of the boundary of the contacting bodies. The Coulomb friction model where the friction coefficient is assumed to be Lipschitz continuous function of the sliding velocity is assumed. Moreover Archard's law of wear in the contact zone is assumed. This contact problem is governed by the evolutionary variational inequality of the second order. Finite difference and finite element methods are used to discretize this dynamic contact problem. Numerical examples are provided. (© 2006 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

We consider two quasistatic problems which describe the frictional contact between a deformable body and an obstacle, the so-called foundation. In the first problem the body is assumed to have a viscoelastic behavior, while in the other it is assumed to be elastic. The frictional contact is modeled by a general velocity dependent dissipation functional. We derive weak formulations for the models and prove existence and uniqueness results. The proofs are based on the theory of evolution variational inequalities and fixed-point arguments. We also prove that the solution of the viscoelastic problem converges to the solution of the corresponding elastic problem, as the viscosity tensor converges to zero. Finally, we describe a number of concrete contact and friction conditions to which our results apply.  相似文献

We study a mathematical model which describes the antiplane shear deformation of a cylinder in frictionless contact with a rigid foundation. The material is assumed to be electro-viscoelastic with long-term memory, and the friction is modeled with Tresca’s law and the foundation is assumed to be electrically conductive. First we derive the classical variational formulation of the model which is given by a system coupling an evolutionary variational equality for the displacement field with a time-dependent variational equation for the potential field. Then we prove the existence of a unique weak solution to the model. Moreover, the proof is based on arguments of evolution equations and on the Banach fixedpoint theorem.  相似文献
