We consider a model field theory consisting of two Nambu-Jona-Lasinio spin 1/2 fields interacting via a coupling \(f(\bar \psi _1 \gamma ^\mu \gamma ^5 \psi _1 )(\bar \psi _2 \gamma _\mu \gamma ^5 \psi _2 )\) and which is therefore invariant under the two symmetries \(\psi _1 (x) \to e^{i\alpha _1 } \gamma ^5 \psi _1 (x)\) and \(\psi _2 (x) \to e^{i\alpha _2 } \gamma ^5 \psi _2 (x)\) . We look for solutions in which these symmetries are spontaneously broken by giving the fermions non-zero masses. Each of the two pairs of axial-vector vertex functions in the theory satisfy two coupled integral equations, which are solved in the ‘chain approximation’. We find that all four vertex functions have the same singularity structure, in particular a pole atq 2=0 corresponding to a massless pseudoscalar Nambu-Goldstone boson, and another pole corresponding to an axial-vector boson whose mass is cut-off dependent, but which for a certain range of values off 2 is a stable particle. By considering the coupling of the strings of nucleon-antinucleon psuedoscalar ‘bubbles’ which generate the massless Nambu-Goldstone bosons associated with fermions 1 and 2, we show explicitly that there is only one massless Nambu-Goldstone boson in the theory.  相似文献

We prove the existence of infinitely many stationary states for the following nonlinear Dirac equation $$i\gamma ^\mu \partial _\mu \psi - m\psi + (\bar \psi \psi )\psi = 0.$$ Seeking for eigenfunctions splitted in spherical coordinates leads us to analyze a nonautonomous dynamical system inR 2. The number of eigenfunctions is given by the number of intersections of the stable manifold of the origin with the curve of admissible datum. This proves the existence of infinitely many stationary states, ordered by the number of nodes of each component.  相似文献

In the present paper, we study the following scaled nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) in one space dimension: $$ i\frac{\rm d}{{\rm d}t}\psi^{\varepsilon}(t)=-\Delta\psi^{\varepsilon}(t) +\frac{1}{\varepsilon}V\left(\frac{x}{\varepsilon} \right)|\psi^{\varepsilon}(t)|^{2\mu}\psi^{\varepsilon}(t)\quad \varepsilon > 0\,\quad V\in L^1(\mathbb{R},(1+|x|){\rm d}x) \cap L^\infty(\mathbb{R}).$$ This equation represents a nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a spatially concentrated nonlinearity. We show that in the limit \({\varepsilon\to 0}\) the weak (integral) dynamics converges in \({H^1(\mathbb{R})}\) to the weak dynamics of the NLS with point-concentrated nonlinearity: $$ i\frac{{\rm d}}{{\rm d}t} \psi(t) =H_{\alpha} \psi(t) .$$ where H α is the Laplacian with the nonlinear boundary condition at the origin \({\psi'(t,0+)-\psi'(t,0-)=\alpha|\psi(t,0)|^{2\mu}\psi(t,0)}\) and \({\alpha=\int_{\mathbb{R}}V{\rm d}x}\) . The convergence occurs for every \({\mu\in \mathbb{R}^+}\) if V ≥  0 and for every  \({\mu\in (0,1)}\) otherwise. The same result holds true for a nonlinearity with an arbitrary number N of concentration points.  相似文献

The fireball formed in a heavy ion collision is characterized by the impact parameter vector $\vec b$ , which is orthogonal to the beam direction and can be determined from the multiplicity and the angular distribution of the reaction products. By appropriate rotations the $\vec b$ vectors of each collision can be oriented into a fixed direction. Using the measured values of the momentum distributions of the vector mesons an integral equation can be formulated for the unknown emission densities $(E_M (\vec r))$ and for the unknown absorption densities $(\Delta \mu _M (\vec r,p))$ of the different vector mesons $M( \equiv \omega ^0 ,\rho ^0 ,\phi ^0 ,\psi ^0 ,\psi ^{0'} ,\Upsilon )$ .  相似文献

The connection of conformal fields with the Mackey theory is discussed. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the finite or infinite component field equation $$\left( {L_\mu \partial ^\mu + m} \right)\psi \left( x \right) = 0$$ to be conformally covariant, are derived. The conditions are then explicitly solved under very general assumptions and thus conformally covariant equations of the above type are explicitly found (Theorem 5). The circumstances under which the equation may be obtained from a Lagrangian are discussed.  相似文献

There are four types of two-Higgs doublet models under a discrete \(Z_2\) symmetry imposed to avoid tree-level flavor-changing neutral current, i.e. type-I, type-II, type-X, and type-Y models. We investigate the possibility to discriminate the four models in the light of the flavor physics data, including \(B_s\) \(\bar{B}_s\) mixing, \(B_{s,d} \rightarrow \mu ^+ \mu ^-\) , \(B\rightarrow \tau \nu \) and \(\bar{B} \rightarrow X_s \gamma \) decays, the recent LHC Higgs data, the direct search for charged Higgs at LEP, and the constraints from perturbative unitarity and vacuum stability. After deriving the combined constraints on the Yukawa interaction parameters, we have shown that the correlation between the mass eigenstate rate asymmetry \(A_{\Delta \Gamma }\) of \(B_{s} \rightarrow \mu ^+ \mu ^-\) and the ratio \(R=\mathcal{B}(B_{s} \rightarrow \mu ^+ \mu ^-)_\mathrm{exp}/ \mathcal{B}(B_{s} \rightarrow \mu ^+ \mu ^-)_\mathrm{SM}\) could be a sensitive probe to discriminate the four models with future precise measurements of the observables in the \(B_{s} \rightarrow \mu ^+ \mu ^-\) decay at LHCb.  相似文献

In the X (3872) decay, both of the ${{J/{\psi\pi\pi}}}$ and ${{J/{\psi\pi\pi\pi}}}$ branching fractions are observed experimentally, and their sizes are comparable to each other. In order to clarify the mechanism to cause such a large isospin violation, we investigate X(3872) employing a model of coupled-channel two-meson scattering with a ${{\rm c}\bar{c}}$ core. The two-meson states consist of ${{D^0\overline{D}^{*0}}}$ , D + D *?, ${{J/{\psi\rho}}}$ , and ${{J/{\psi\omega}}}$ . The effects of the ρ and ω meson width are also taken into account. We calculate the transfer strength from the ${{{\rm c}\bar{c}}}$ core to the final two-meson states. It is found that very narrow ${{J/{\psi\rho}}}$ and ${{J/{\psi\omega}}}$ peaks appear very close to the ${{D^0\overline{D}^{*0}}}$ threshold for a wide range of variation in the parameter sets. The size of the ${{J/{\psi\rho}}}$ peak is almost the same as that of ${{J/{\psi\omega}}}$ , which is consistent with the experiments. The large width of the ρ meson makes the originally small isospin violation by about five times larger.  相似文献

Approximating the long-distance gluon dynamics ofSU(3)colour by colour-dielectric block-spin variables, we obtain an effective QCD theory of a scalar colour-dielectric field and a massive colour-bleached gluon field coupled to light quarks. The massive vector field produces a strong attraction betweenq \(\bar q\) pairs, which leads toq \(\bar q\) condensation when the colour-dielectric field becomes small. We calculate \(\left\langle {\bar \psi \psi } \right\rangle\) and the pion decay constantf n as a function of the dielectric field expectation value, by evaluating the fermion determinant in a derivative expansion, and integrating out the bosonic variables. We find that the effective quark-gluon coupling,α s eff , including quark effects, is large on the surface of bags, where \(\left\langle {\bar \psi \psi } \right\rangle\) ±0, but decreases inside hadronic bags, where | \(\left\langle {\bar \psi \psi } \right\rangle\) | is decreasing.  相似文献

We derive model independent lower bounds for the sums of effective quark masses \(\bar m_u + \bar m_d \) and \(\bar m_u + \bar m_s \) . The bounds follow from the combination of the spectral representation properties of the hadronic axial currents two-point functions and their behavior in the deep euclidean region (known from a perturbative QCD calculation to two loops and the leading non-perturbative contribution). The bounds incorporate PCAC in the Nambu-Goldstone version. If we define the invariant masses \(\hat m\) by $$\bar m_i = \hat m_i \left( {{{\frac{1}{2}\log Q^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\frac{1}{2}\log Q^2 } {\Lambda ^2 }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\Lambda ^2 }}} \right)^{{{\gamma _1 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\gamma _1 } {\beta _1 }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\beta _1 }}} $$ and <F 2> is the vacuum expectation value of $$F^2 = \Sigma _a F_{(a)}^{\mu v} F_{\mu v(a)} $$ , we find, e.g., $$\hat m_u + \hat m_d \geqq \sqrt {\frac{{2\pi }}{3} \cdot \frac{{8f_\pi m_\pi ^2 }}{{3\left\langle {\alpha _s F^2 } \right\rangle ^{{1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} }}} $$ ; with the value <α u F 2?0.04GeV4, recently suggested by various analysis, this gives $$\hat m_u + \hat m_d \geqq 35MeV$$ . The corresponding bounds on \(\bar m_u + \bar m_s \) are obtained replacingm π 2 f π bym K 2 f K . The PCAC relation can be inverted, and we get upper bounds on the spontaneous masses, \(\hat \mu \) : $$\hat \mu \leqq 170MeV$$ where \(\hat \mu \) is defined by $$\left\langle {\bar \psi \psi } \right\rangle \left( {Q^2 } \right) = \left( {{{\frac{1}{2}\log Q^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\frac{1}{2}\log Q^2 } {\Lambda ^2 }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\Lambda ^2 }}} \right)^d \hat \mu ^3 ,d = {{12} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{12} {\left( {33 - 2n_f } \right)}}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\left( {33 - 2n_f } \right)}}$$ .  相似文献

The large isospin symmetry breaking found in the X(3872) decay is investigated by looking into the transfer strength from the \({{c}\bar{c}}\) quarkonium to the two-meson states: \({c\bar{c} \rightarrow D^{0}\overline{D}^{*0}, D^{+} D^{*-} , J /\psi\omega, {\rm and} \, J /\psi\rho}\) . The widths of the \({\rho}\) and \({\omega}\) mesons are taken into account in the calculation. It is found that very narrow \({J /\psi\omega}\) and \({J /\psi\rho}\) peaks appear at the \({D^{0}\overline{D}^{*0}}\) threshold. These narrow peaks appear provided that the strength of the \({D^{0}\overline{D}^{*0}}\) component is large around the threshold. The large width of the \({\rho}\) meson enhances the isospin-one component in the transfer strength considerably, which reduces the ratio \({{\rm Br}(X \rightarrow J /\psi\omega)/{\rm Br}(X \rightarrow J /\psi\rho)}\) down to 2.5.  相似文献

Three-charge-particle collisions with participation of ultra-slow antiprotons ( \(\overline {\rm {p}}\) ) is the subject of this work. Specifically we compute the total cross sections and corresponding thermal rates of the following three-body reactions: \(\overline {\rm p}+(e^+e^-) \rightarrow \overline {\rm {H}} + e^-\) and \(\overline {\rm p}+(\mu ^+\mu ^-) \rightarrow \overline {\rm {H}}_{\mu } + \mu ^-\) , where \(e^-(\mu ^-)\) is an electron (muon) and \(e^+(\mu ^+)\) is a positron (antimuon) respectively, \(\overline {\rm {H}}=(\overline {\rm p}e^+)\) is an antihydrogen atom and \(\overline {\rm {H}}_{\mu }=(\overline {\rm p}\mu ^+)\) is a muonic antihydrogen atom, i.e. a bound state of \(\overline {\rm {p}}\) and μ +. A set of two-coupled few-body Faddeev-Hahn-type (FH-type) equations is numerically solved in the framework of a modified close-coupling expansion approach.  相似文献

The asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Cauchy problem for the equation $$i\psi _\imath = \frac{1}{2}\Delta \psi - \upsilon (\psi )\psi , \upsilon = r^{ - 1} *|\psi |^2 ,$$ and for systems of similar form, is studied. It is shown that the norms $$\parallel \psi (t)\parallel _{L_2 (|x| \leqq R)}^2 + \parallel \nabla \psi (t)\parallel _{L_2 (|x| \leqq R)}^2 $$ are integrable in time for any fixedR>0, from which it follows that $$\mathop {\lim }\limits_{t \to \infty } \parallel \psi (t)\parallel _{L_2 (|x| \leqq R)} = 0.$$ \] Nevertheless, it is established that anL 2-scattering theory is impossible.  相似文献

Since weakly decaying particles are their own polarimeters, reactions like \(\eta _c \to \Lambda \bar \Lambda , \psi \to \Lambda \bar \Lambda ,e^ + e^ - \to \mu ^ + \mu ^ -\) , etc. are interesting for testing the non-locality of quantum mechanical predictions. Although such reactions, in principle, do not exclude all classes of hidden variable theories, they can be used to complement current experiments with external polarimeters. The reaction \(\eta _c \to \Lambda \bar \Lambda \to \pi ^ - p\pi ^{ + - } \bar p\) is conceptually the simplest and most useful as agedanken experiment, although it has not yet been seen experimentally. The reaction \(e^ + e^ - \to \Lambda \bar \Lambda \to \pi ^ - p\pi ^ + \bar p\) near threshold or at the φ resonance can be used for essentially the same test. This is feasible with presently available data and would be the first EPR experiment involving weak interactions.  相似文献

We apply the renormalized perturbation theory (RPT) to the symmetric Anderson impurity model. Within the RPT framework exact results for physical observables such as the spin and charge susceptibility can be obtained in terms of the renormalized values \(\tilde \mu = (\tilde \Delta ,\tilde U)\) of the hybridization Δ and Coulomb interaction U of the model. The main difficulty in the RPT approach usually lies in the calculation of the renormalized values themselves. In the present work we show how this can be accomplished by deriving differential flow equations describing the evolution of \(\tilde \mu = (\tilde \Delta )\) with Δ. By exploiting the fact that \(\tilde \mu = (\tilde \Delta )\) can be determined analytically in the limit Δ → ∞ we solve the flow equations numerically to obtain estimates for the renormalized parameters in the range 0 <U/πΔ< 3.5.  相似文献

We calculate the cross sections \(q\bar q \to \psi \psi \) andgg→ψψ in 0(α s 4 ) QCD. We compare our results with measurements in πN interactions, and give predictions forpN and \(\bar p\) interactions. The cross section foryy→ψψ is computed.  相似文献

A new beam-dump experiment has been performed at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron using the CHARM neutrino detector. The instrumentation and the statistics have been significantly improved with respect to earlier experiments. For a neutrino energy above 20 GeV the asymmetry of the prompt muon-neutrino and electron-neutrino fluxes \([(v_\mu + \bar v_\mu ) - (v_e + \bar v_e )]/[(v_\mu + \bar v_\mu ) + (v_e + \bar v_e )]\) is found to be 0.20±0.10 (stat.)±0.05 (syst.), and the asymmetry of prompt antineutrino and neutrino fluxes for muonneutrinos \((v_\mu - \bar v_\mu )/(v_\mu + \bar v_\mu )\) is 0.02±0.16 (stat.)±0.02 (syst.) in agreement with our previous results. For the cross-section times branching ratio for charm production and semileptonic decay we obtain a value of \(\sigma \times BR\left[ {D(\bar D) \to v_e (\bar v_e ) X} \right] = 1.9 \pm 0.2 \pm 0.2\mu b\) per nucleon. We find no evidence forv τ orv x interactions. The \((v_\tau + \bar v_\tau )\) flux is less than 21% of the total prompt neutrino flux. We derive an improved limit on the branching ratio \(\pi ^0 \to v\bar v\) of 6.5×10?6, and as a verification of the universality of the neutral weak coupling we find \(g_{v_e \bar v_e } /g_{v_\mu \bar v_\mu } = 1.05_{ - 0.18}^{ + 0.15} \) .  相似文献

We show that an infinite Galton–Watson tree, conditioned on its martingale limit being smaller than  $\varepsilon $ , agrees up to generation $K$ with a regular $\mu $ -ary tree, where $\mu $ is the essential minimum of the offspring distribution and the random variable $K$ is strongly concentrated near an explicit deterministic function growing like a multiple of $\log (1/\varepsilon )$ . More precisely, we show that if $\mu \ge 2$ then with high probability, as $\varepsilon \downarrow 0$ , $K$ takes exactly one or two values. This shows in particular that the conditioned trees converge to the regular $\mu $ -ary tree, providing an example of entropic repulsion where the limit has vanishing entropy. Our proofs are based on recent results on the left tail behaviour of the martingale limit obtained by Fleischmann and Wachtel [11].  相似文献

The 1/N c expansion classifies nuclearmatter, deconfined quark matter, and Quarkyonic matter in low temperature region. We investigate the realization of chiral symmetry in Quarkyonic matter by taking into account condensations of chiral particle-hole pairs. It is argued that chiral symmetry and parity are locally violated by the formation of chiral spirals, $\left\langle {\bar \psi exp\left( {2i\mu _q z\gamma ^0 \gamma ^z } \right)\psi } \right\rangle$ . An extension to multiple chiral spirals is also briefly discussed.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with d = 2 dimensional lattice field models with action ${V(\nabla\phi(\cdot))}$ , where ${V : \mathbf{R}^d \rightarrow \mathbf{R}}$ is a uniformly convex function. The fluctuations of the variable ${\phi(0) - \phi(x)}$ are studied for large |x| via the generating function given by ${g(x, \mu) = \ln \langle e^{\mu(\phi(0) - \phi(x))}\rangle_{A}}$ . In two dimensions ${g'' (x, \mu) = \partial^2g(x, \mu)/\partial\mu^2}$ is proportional to ${\ln\vert x\vert}$ . The main result of this paper is a bound on ${g''' (x, \mu) = \partial^3 g(x, \mu)/\partial \mu^3}$ which is uniform in ${\vert x \vert}$ for a class of convex V. The proof uses integration by parts following Helffer–Sjöstrand and Witten, and relies on estimates of singular integral operators on weighted Hilbert spaces.  相似文献
