The inhomogeneity in a congrunet LiTaO3 crystal has been observed by transmission synchrotron topography.Many extraordinary regions exist in congruent LiTaO3 crystal and they often show diffraction intensity different from that of ordinary regions in synchrotron topographs.Differential thermal analysis indiates that the Curie temperature of the extraordinary region is lower than that of ordinary region,and the extraordinary region is really a high defect density region.The diffraction contrast of the extraordinary region in synchrotron topographs is explained qualitatively by a calculation at the selected wavelength.2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.  相似文献

Multiple-component Bose-Einstein condensation has been observed in a magnetic field generated by a controllable magnetic quadrupole-Ioffe-configuration trap. Different distributions of atoms in spinor Bose Einstein condensates are created by changing the time difference of switching-off current in quadrupole-Ioffe-configuration coils and bias coils of the magnetic trap. A simple analysis is carried out to explain some phenomena of the experiment.  相似文献

We have measured the dose dependence of the degree of amorphization of titanite, CaTiSiO(5). Titanite is an often metamict mineral which has been considered as a matrix for the encapsulation of radiogenic waste, such as Pu. The amorphous fraction p of geologically irradiated samples (ages between 0.3 and 1 Ga) follows p = 1 - exp(-B(a)D) where D is the total dose and the characteristic amorphization mass is B(a) = 2.7(3) × 10(-19) g. Amorphization follows the direct impact mechanism where each α-decay leads to a recoil of the radiogenic atoms (mostly Th and U), which then, in turn, displaces some 5000 atoms of the titanite matrix. The amorphization behaviour is almost identical with that of zircon, ZrSiO(4), which has a similar molecular mass. While the recrystallization mechanism and elastic behaviour of the two minerals are very different, we do not find significant differences for the amorphization mechanism. Our samples have undergone little reheating over their geological history, since heating over 800 K would lead to rapid recrystallization for which we have found no evidence.  相似文献

The Bose–Einstein condensation of magnons was observed in 1984 in superfluid 3He–B. The same phenomena should exist in solid magnetic systems. We describe here a partly digital experimental setup for studying solid antiferromagnets CsMnF3 and MnCO3 by pulse and continuous wave nuclear magnetic resonance. With this equipment, the Bose–Einstein condensation of magnons was observed for the first time in these single crystals.  相似文献

This paper presents a preliminary evaluation of the C rotational constant and coefficients of the operators Pz 2n up to n = 4 for NH3 in the ground state. These constants are evaluated on the basis of the determination of 14 different ΔK = 3 ground state intervals obtained from measurement of many Δ(K - l) = 3 transitions observed in the ν4 vibration rotation band. Corrections to the ground state term values for NH3 are given as a function of K, thus permitting ΔK = 3 transitions to be determined with accuracies comparable to those of normal allowed transitions. The perturbation which gives rise to the observed transitions is large, but has not been treated in previous analyses of the ν4-2ν2 bands.  相似文献

Intermittency and fractal behaviour have been studied of emission spectra of target associated fragments from ^84Kr-AgBr interactions at 1.7 A GeV in emission angle space and azimuthal angle space separately. The intermittent behaviour is observed in the two spaces separately. Prom the intermittency exponent, the anomalous fractal dimension dq is calculated and the variation of dq with the order q is investigated. It is found that the anomalous dimensions are found to increase with the order of moments q, thereby indicating the relation of multifractality to production mechanism of target associated fragments.  相似文献

We investigate transverse hadron spectra from relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions within two independent transport approaches that are based on quark, diquark, string, and hadronic degrees of freedom. Both transport models show their reliability for elementary pp as well as light-ion (C+C, Si+Si) reactions. However, for central Au+Au (Pb+Pb) collisions above approximately 5A GeV the measured K+/- transverse mass spectra have a larger inverse slope parameter than expected from the calculation. Thus, the pressure generated by hadronic interactions in the transport models above approximately 5A GeV is lower than observed in the experimental data. This finding shows that the additional pressure--as expected from lattice QCD calculations at finite quark chemical potential and temperature--is generated by strong partonic interactions in the early phase of central Au+Au (Pb+Pb) collisions.  相似文献

We consider a lamellar phase of bilayer membranes held between two parallel plates and subject to a steady shear. Accounting for the coupling with the shear flow of the short wavelength undulation modes that are responsible for the membrane excess area, we argue that the flow generates an effective force which acts to reduce the excess area. From the viewpoint of the macroscopic lamellar whose geometric dimensions are fixed, this force translates into an effective lateral pressure. At low shear rates this pressure is balanced by the elastic restoring forces of the lamellar. Above a critical shear rate , where d is the interlayer distance and D is the gap spacing, the lamellar buckles into a harmonic shape modulation, and we predict its wavelength and amplitude . We show that our model is isomorphic to a dilative strain, which is known to induce a similar buckling (undulation) instability. Indeed, at threshold the wavelength is and is identical in both cases. Using a non-linear analysis, we discuss how the wavelength and amplitude vary with shear rate away from the threshold. For we find and . We then focus on the coupling of the buckling modulation itself with the flow, and obtain a criterion for the limit of its stability. Motivated by experiments of D. Roux and coworkers, we assume that at this limit of stability the lamellar breakups into “onion"-like, multilamellar, vesicles. The critical shear rate for the formation of onions is predicted to scale as . The scaling with d is consistent with available experimental data. We present a method to describe the temperature dependence of emission Mössbauer spectra showing slow spin-lattice relaxations of Fe3?+? in MgO single crystals, obtained after implantation of 57Mn at ISOLDE/CERN. The analysis is based on the Blume-Tjon model for the line-shape of relaxing paramagnetic sextets with the spin relaxation rate, τ ???1 as a parameter. The temperature dependent spin relaxation rate of Fe3?+? in MgO is found to increase to ~108 s???1 at 647 K by assuming a relaxation rate of τ ???1?< 106 s???1 at 77 K. The results are in accordance with those obtained by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy demonstrating the possibility of retrieving spin-lattice relaxation rates of dilute Fe3?+? from emission Mössbauer spectroscopy of Mn/Fe-implanted oxides.  相似文献

The deuteroxyl radical (OD) has been isolated in superfluid helium nanodroplets and characterised by infrared depletion spectroscopy. Two resolved Q(3/2) lines are observed, with a separation that is 4.88 (10) times larger than in the gas phase. This is similar to that previously reported for He-solvated OH (5.30 (2)), for which it was shown that the splitting could be reproduced by a model that assumes a small parity dependence of the rotor's effective moment of inertia [P.L. Raston, T. Liang, and G.E. Douberly, J. Phys. Chem. A (2013). DOI:10.1021/jp312335q]. With this model, the OD Λ-doublet splitting in liquid He is reproduced with Be and Bf rotational constants that differ by ≈0.24%.  相似文献

According to hydrodynamic, acoustic, and NMR studies the superfluid transition temperature of 3He in aerogel ( T(a)(c)) is significantly suppressed with respect to that of bulk 3He. We have found in the range of temperatures between T(c) and T(a)(c) a large and unexpected NMR satellite line attributable to the liquid inside the aerogel. We propose that this anomalous behavior of liquid 3He corresponds to a new type of superfluid ordering related to magnetic and possibly orbital coherence.  相似文献

We examine the effects of a phenomenological pseudogap on the T=0 K phase diagram of a high temperature superconductor within a self-consistent model which exhibits a d-wave pairing symmetry. At the mean-field level the presence of a pseudogap in the normal phase of the high temperature superconductor is proved to be essential for the existence of a metallic–like state in the density versus interaction phase diagram. In the small density limit, at high attractive interaction, bosonic–like degrees of freedom are likely to emerge. Our result should be relevant for underdoped high temperature superconductors, where there is a strong evidence for the presence of a pseudogap in the excitation spectrum of the normal state quasiparticles.  相似文献

Based on the temperature dependence of the hyperfine parameters of the 57Fe nuclei, the qualitative and quantitative phase composition of nanocrystalline iron oxides on the surface and on the tails of the “classic” multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNT) was investigated. From the observed temperature dependence it was shown that the contribution of the nonmagnetic iron-containing phase is caused by small size nanoparticles on the CNTs surface.  相似文献

Excited states in 212Po have been populated by a \alpha transfer using the 208Pb(18O,14C) reaction at 85MeV beam energy and studied with the EUROBALL IV g \gamma multi-detector array. The level scheme has been extended up to ∼ 3.2 MeV excitation energy from the triple-g \gamma coincidence data. Spin and parity values of most of the observed states have been assigned from the g \gamma angular distributions and g \gamma -g \gamma angular correlations. Several g \gamma -lines with E γ < 1 MeV have been found to be shifted by the Doppler effect, allowing for the measurements of the associated lifetimes by the DSAM method. The values, found in the range [0.1-0.6]ps, lead to very enhanced E1 transitions. All the emitting states, which have non-natural parity values, are discussed in terms of a \alpha - 208Pb structure. They are in the same excitation-energy range as the states issued from shell-model configurations.  相似文献
