A generalization of Hurwitz stable polynomials to real rational functions is considered. We establish an analog of the Hurwitz stability criterion for rational functions and introduce a new type of determinants that can be treated as a generalization of the Hurwitz determinants.  相似文献

We give general mathematical results concerning oscillating singularities and we study examples of functions composed only of oscillating singularities. These functions are defined by explicit coefficients on an orthonormal wavelet basis. Let Z:[0,1]→R be a continuous function. This paper relates to the existence of a decomposition of Z as Z=gf, where g:[0,1]→R is a monofractal function with exponent 0<H<1 and f:[0,1]→[0,1] is a time subordinator, i.e. the integral of a positive Borel measure supported by [0,1]. An equivalent question consists of searching for a (multifractal) parametrization of Z which transforms Z into a monofractal function. We establish that such a decomposition can be found for a large class of functions which includes the usual examples of multifractal functions.We find an interesting relationship between self-similar functions and self-similar measures as an application of our results.Our theorems yield new insights in the understanding of the multifractal behaviour of functions, giving a significant role to the regularity analysis of Borel measures.  相似文献

In the paper we prove that the complex analytic functions are (ordinarily) density continuous. This stays in contrast with the fact that even such a simple function asG:22,G(x,y)=(x,y 3 ), is not density continuous [1]. We will also characterize those analytic functions which are strongly density continuous at the given pointa . From this we conclude that a complex analytic functionf is strongly density continuous if and only iff(z)=a+bz, wherea, b andb is either real or imaginary.  相似文献

We obtain a characterization of generalized Stieltjes functions of any order λ>0λ>0 in terms of inequalities for their derivatives on (0,∞)(0,). When λ=1λ=1, this provides a new and simple proof of a characterization of Stieltjes functions first obtained by Widder in 1938.  相似文献

Let X=(Xt)t?0 be a Lévy process and μ a positive Borel measure on R+. Suppose that the integral of μ defines a continuous increasing multifractal time . Under suitable assumptions on μ, we compute the singularity spectrum of the sample paths of the process X in time μ defined as the process (XF(t))t?0.A fundamental example consists in taking a measure μ equal to an “independent random cascade” and (independently of μ) a suitable stable Lévy process X. Then the associated process X in time μ is naturally related to the so-called fixed points of the smoothing transformation in interacting particles systems.Our results rely on recent heterogeneous ubiquity theorems.  相似文献

We study in this paper estimates on the size of the sets of points which are well approximated by orbits of other points under certain dynamical systems. This paper is a continuation of our earlier works [1,2] on the fractal structure of expanding and subexpanding meromorphic functions of the form F = H o exp o Q, where H and Q are non-constant rational maps. Under some assumptions on the forward trajectories of asymptotic values ofF we define a class of summable potentials for the maps f of the punctured cylinder induced by F. We prove the existence and uniqueness of Gibbs states for these potentials.  相似文献

A new class of functional equation in C0(I) is investigated. It is proved that some class of FIF satisfies the functional equation. Another functional equation is constructed. We introduce a family of quasisymmetric functions called Eulerian quasisymmetric functions, which specialize to enumerators for the joint distribution of the permutation statistics, major index and excedance number on permutations of fixed cycle type. This family is analogous to a family of quasisymmetric functions that Gessel and Reutenauer used to study the joint distribution of major index and descent number on permutations of fixed cycle type. Our central result is a formula for the generating function for the Eulerian quasisymmetric functions, which specializes to a new and surprising q-analog of a classical formula of Euler for the exponential generating function of the Eulerian polynomials. This q-analog computes the joint distribution of excedance number and major index, the only of the four important Euler-Mahonian distributions that had not yet been computed. Our study of the Eulerian quasisymmetric functions also yields results that include the descent statistic and refine results of Gessel and Reutenauer. We also obtain q-analogs, (q,p)-analogs and quasisymmetric function analogs of classical results on the symmetry and unimodality of the Eulerian polynomials. Our Eulerian quasisymmetric functions refine symmetric functions that have occurred in various representation theoretic and enumerative contexts including MacMahon's study of multiset derangements, work of Procesi and Stanley on toric varieties of Coxeter complexes, Stanley's work on chromatic symmetric functions, and the work of the authors on the homology of a certain poset introduced by Björner and Welker.  相似文献

Abstract

Mathematical inequalities and other results involving such widely- and extensively-studied special functions of mathematical physics and applied mathematics as (for example) the Bessel, Struve and Lommel functions as well as the associated hypergeometric functions are potentially useful in many seemingly diverse areas of applications, especially in situations in which these functions are involved in solutions of mathematical, physical and engineering problems which can be modeled by ordinary and partial di?erential equations. With this objective in view, our present investigation is motivated by some open problems involving inequalities for a number of particular forms of the hypergeometric function 1F2(a; b, c; z). Here, in this paper, we apply a novel approach to such problems and obtain presumably new two-sided inequalities for the Struve function, the associated Struve function and the modified Struve function by first investigating inequalities for the general hypergeometric function 1F2(a; b, c; z). We also briefly discuss the analogous new inequalities for the Lommel function under some conditions and constraints. Finally, as special cases of our main results, we deduce several inequalities for the modified Lommel function and the normalized Lommel function.  相似文献

We introduce the conflict interaction with two positions between a couple of image probability measures and consider the associated dynamical system.
