We improve the existing upper bound for the quantity |∑ nx a(n 2)|, where a(n 2) is the n 2th Hecke eigenvalue of a normalized holomorphic cusp form (Hecke eigenform) of the full modular group SL(2, ℤ), whenever the weight of the original holomorphic cusp form (Hecke eigenform) lies in a certain range. We define a class of analytic functions which can be obtained from their values at almost all positive integers by a canonical interpolation procedure. All the usualL-functions belong to this class which is interesting in view of the extensive investigations of special values of motivicL-series. A number of classical contour integral formulas appear as particular cases of the interpolation scheme. The paper is based on a formula of Ramanujan and results of Hardy. An approach to the problem via distributions is also presented.  相似文献

We discuss equivalent definitions of holomorphic second-order cusp forms and prove bounds on their Fourier coefficients. We also introduce their associated L-functions, prove functional equations for twisted versions of these L-functions and establish a criterion for a Dirichlet series to originate from a second order form. Let r k (n) denote the number of ways n can be expressed as a sum of k squares. Recently, S. Cooper (Ramanujan J. 6:469–490, [2002]), conjectured a formula for r 9(t), t≡5 (mod 8), r 11(t), t≡7 (mod 8), where t is a square-free positive integer. In this note we observe that these conjectures follow from the works of Lomadze (Akad. Nauk Gruz. Tr. Tbil. Mat. Inst. Razmadze 17:281–314, [1949]; Acta Arith. 68(3):245–253, [1994]). Further we express r 9(t), r 11(t) in terms of certain special values of Dirichlet L-functions. Combining these two results we get expressions for these special values of Dirichlet L-functions involving Jacobi symbols.   相似文献

Given three distinct primitive complex characters 1,2,3 satisfying some technical conditions, we prove that the triple product of twisted L-functions L(f·1,1/2) L(f·2,1/2) L(f·3,1/2) does not vanish for a positive proportion of weight 2 primitive forms for 0(q), when q goes to infinity through the set of prime numbers. This result, together with some variants, implies the existence of quotients of J 0(q) of large dimension satisfying the Birch–Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture over cyclic number fields of degree less than 5.P.M. is partially supported by NSF Grant DMS-97-2992 and by the Ellentuck fund (by grants to the Institute for Advanced Study) and by the Institut Universitaire de France.  相似文献

We prove estimates for extremal values of L-functions associated with newforms f in the half-plane of absolute convergence of their Dirichlet series expansion. The classes of the Lp,∞- and Lp-metrics play an important role to develop a probability theory in fuzzy sample spaces. All of these metrics are known to be separable, but not complete. The classes are closely related as for each Lp,∞-metric there exists some Lp-metric which induces the same topology. This paper deals with the completion of the Lp,∞- and Lp-metrics. We can also show that the relationship between the classes of Lp,∞- and Lp-metrics still holds for the obtained respective classes of their completions.  相似文献

The degree conjecture for the Selberg class of L-functions states that the degree d F of every F ∈ is an integer. Moreover, it is expected that every F ∈ has polynomial Euler product, and that the degree ∂ F of such an Euler product coincides with d F . In this paper, we determine the residues at poles of standard intertwining operators for parabolically induced representations of an arbitrary connected reductive quansisplit algebraic group over a p-acid field whenever the unipotent radical of the parabolic subgroup is Abelian. Generalizing the results of Bringmann, Diamantis and Raum [3] we investigate a generating series of non-critical values which can be interpreted as a mock period function and prove that non-critical values can be encoded into a sesquiharmonic Maass form in higher level cases. In this note, we first prove existence theorems for noncompact generalized quasivariational inequalities. As applications, two fixed point theorems for upper or lower semicontinuous multivalued mappings without compact domains are given in locally Hausdorff topological vector spaces. These results generalize or improve corresponding results in the literature.  相似文献

We study here the free group generated by isomorphism classes of supersingular elliptic curves in positive characteristic. We compare this -module to the homology of the modular curve X0(p). We give an interpretation of Gross formula for special values of L-functions of modular forms in this context. As an application, we obtain a formula for the sum of the squares of the optimal embeddings numbers of quadratic orders in a definite quaternion algebra.  相似文献

We construct a Rankin Selberg integral to represent the exterior cube L function L(,3,s) of an automorphic cuspidal module of GL6( F ) (where F is a number field). We determine the poles of this L function and find period conditions for the special value L(,3,1/2). We use the Siegal Weil formula. We also state an analogue of the Gross–Prasad conjecture concerning a criterion for the nonvanishing of L(,3,1/2).  相似文献
