Boundary integral methods to compute interfacial flows are very sensitive to numerical instabilities. A previous stability analysis by Beale, Hou and Lowengrub reveals that a very delicate balance among terms with singular integrals and derivatives must be preserved at the discrete level in order to maintain numerical stability. Such balance can be preserved by applying suitable numerical filtering at certain places of the discretization. While this filtering technique is effective for two-dimensional (2-D) periodic fluid interfaces, it does not apply to nonperiodic fluid interfaces. Moreover, using the filtering technique alone does not seem to be sufficient to stabilize 3-D fluid interfaces.

Here we introduce a new stabilizing technique for boundary integral methods for water waves which applies to nonperiodic and 3-D interfaces. A stabilizing term is added to the boundary integral method which exactly cancels the destabilizing term produced by the point vortex method approximation to the leading order. This modified boundary integral method still has the same order of accuracy as the point vortex method. A detailed stability analysis is presented for the point vortex method for 2-D water waves. The effect of various stabilizing terms is illustrated through careful numerical experiments.

In the paper, a new algorithm for finding the absolute center of the graph is proposed. Later on problem of the absolute balance point of the graph is investigated the objective function of which is defined as the difference in the distance from the located facility to the farthest and the nearest demand point. An algorithm for finding it is presented By following the balance criterion it may happen, that the balance point is located too far from the demand points. Conversely, if we are interested not only in the distance to the farthest demand point, but (what is more realistic) also in the structure of the distances, a criterion of balance is appropriate. Consequently, we investigate the center balance constrained model that simultaneously used center and balance criteria. By considering the center and the balance objective in a multiobjective framework, efficient solutions are generated by minimizing former objective such that latter satisfies an upperbound  相似文献

在当今金融市场资产价格高波动的背景下,度量投资组合中各资产对总体风险的风险贡献度对探析投资组合风险波动不定的深层次原因有重要意义。关于风险贡献度的测算,目前运用较广泛的是历史数据法,其主要适用于存在大量数据样本且持续期较短的情况。特别地,极端情况下的风险贡献度估计主要由处于分布尾部的少量观测值决定,因此历史数据法估计的准确性此时较难保证,为此,本文对鞍点逼近模型优化并考察上述情形。通过对中国股市进行实证分析发现,与传统历史数据法相比,鞍点逼近模型呈现下列优点:投资组合分布函数简洁、风险贡献度计算效率和准确性较高,压力测试表明该方法具有较好的稳健性。因此该方法有望对投资组合的风险预警与防范起到决策支持作用。  相似文献

This paper deals with the global uniform exponential stability independent of delay of time-delay linear and time-invariant systems subject to point and distributed delays for the initial conditions being continuous real functions except possibly on a set of zero measure of bounded discontinuities. It is assumed that the delay-free system as well as an auxiliary one are globally uniformly exponentially stable and globally uniform exponential stability independent of delay, respectively. The auxiliary system is typically a part of the overall dynamics of the delayed system but not necessarily the isolated undelayed dynamics as usually assumed in the literature. Since there is a great freedom in setting such an auxiliary system, the obtained stability conditions are very useful in a wide class of practical applications.  相似文献

If an autonomous system of differential equations is diffusively coupled to a quiescent phase then at stationary points the stability properties change. If the coupling matrices are multiples of the identity then introducing a quiescent phase stabilizes against the onset of oscillations, in particular high frequency oscillations are damped.For arbitrary (diagonal) coupling matrices the situation gets much more complex. In this paper we consider the problem of identifying a coefficient function in the principal part of a nonlinear hyperbolic PDE from overdetermined boundary data of the PDE solution. Assuming that the coefficient function can be written as a linear combination of finitely many ansatz functions, we derive a stability and uniqueness result that is based on an identifiability condition in terms of the initial data as well as on the smallness of the time interval. In doing so, we distinguish between the two- and higher dimensional case where functionals on the boundary can be measured and the one-dimensional situation with only point measurements at one boundary point. Our results also give perspectives to the case of an infinite dimensional coefficient function.  相似文献
