We demonstrate agreement between measurements and ab initio calculations of the frequency shifts caused by distributed cavity phase variations in the microwave cavity of a primary atomic fountain clock. Experimental verification of the finite element models of the cavities gives the first quantitative evaluation of this leading uncertainty and allows it to be reduced to δν/ν=±8.4×10(-17). Applying these experimental techniques to clocks with improved microwave cavities will yield negligible distributed cavity phase uncertainties, less than ±1×10(-17). 相似文献

We demonstrate a new synchronization method for the White Rabbit system. Signals are transmitted in a single mode fiber in both directions with the same light wavelength. Without the complex calibration process of the fiber asymmetry parameter, the new method reduces the effect of chromatic dispersion and improves the synchronization accuracy. The experiment achieves timing synchronization accuracy below 200 ps over 50 km fiber constructed by different companies' fiber spools. The proposed method would make White Rabbit technology immune to the chromatic dispersion of fiber links and can be applied to long distance synchronization. 相似文献

在激光指令传输中,为形成较大的光覆盖区域并增大光源的作用距离,将多个特性相同的激光器矩阵排列,构成组合光源。针对点阵多激光管光源在开放环境下成像光斑具有多个光能中心的特点,采用形态学滤波中的开启、闭合运算,去除背景噪声斑点,平滑光斑内部的小光斑叠加和干涉造成的不规则条、孔,使得能以简化的分割和定位算法,快速获得接近实际的完整光斑边界,光斑中心定位精度的均方差不大于1.2%。该方法能快速、高精度定位这种叠加光斑的中心,为远距离激光对准和测控提供了可靠的精度和时效保证。 相似文献

Based upon the new designed helical resonator, the resonant radio frequency (RF) for trapping ions can be consecutively adjusted in a large range (about 12 MHz to 29 MHz) with high Q-factors (above 300). We analyze the helical resonator with a lumped element circuit model and find that the theoretical results fit well with the experimental data. With our resonator system, the resonant frequency near magic RF frequency (where the scalar Stark shift and the second-order Doppler shift due to excess micromotion cancel each other) can be continuously changed at kHz level. For 88Sr+ ion, compared to earlier results, the measurement accuracy of magic RF frequency can be improved by an order of magnitude upon rough calculation, and therefore the net micromotion frequency shifts can be further reduced. Also, the differential static scalar polarizability Δα0 of clock transition can be experimentally measured more accurately. 相似文献

Differential quadrature (DQ) is a numerical technique which can produce highly accurate results by using a considerably small number of grid points. When it is applied to dynamic equations, however, DQ may exhibit dynamic numerical instability. The present paper analyzed the sources of dynamic numerical instability through a simple example, and the main finding is that dynamic stability is dominated by the grid points near and on boundaries. Based on this, we propose a variable order approach which is characterized by applying different DQ schemes to the grid points near boundaries and grid points far away from boundaries. Numerical examples of both linear and non-linear dynamic equations show that the variable order approach presented in this paper may greatly improve dynamic stability, producing convincing results. 相似文献

A novel method used for the enhancement of the accuracy of the retardance measurement of a quarter-wave plate employing two polaroids and a prism is reported under the condition of knowing the direction of the fast-axis of the plate. The theoretical analysis of the principle and the uncertainty formula are given. An application example is also demonstrated. The measured result of the example is verified with an experiment.
