In this paper, we establish some new characterizations of metric regularity of implicit multifunctions in complete metric spaces by using lower semicontinuous envelopes of the distance functions to set-valued mappings. Through these new characterizations it is possible to investigate implicit multifunction theorems based on coderivatives and on contingent derivatives as well as the perturbation stability of implicit multifunctions.  相似文献

Concepts of conditioning have long been important in numerical work on solving systems of equations, but in recent years attempts have been made to extend them to feasibility conditions, optimality conditions, complementarity conditions and variational inequalities, all of which can be posed as solving ‘generalized equations’ for set-valued mappings. Here, the conditioning of such generalized equations is systematically organized around four key notions: metric regularity, subregularity, strong regularity and strong subregularity. Various properties and characterizations already known for metric regularity itself are extended to strong regularity and strong subregularity, but metric subregularity, although widely considered, is shown to be too fragile to support stability results such as a radius of good behavior modeled on the Eckart–Young theorem.  相似文献

In this paper, we develop a geometric approach to convex subdifferential calculus in finite dimensions with employing some ideas of modern variational analysis. This approach allows us to obtain natural and rather easy proofs of basic results of convex subdifferential calculus in full generality and also derive new results of convex analysis concerning optimal value/marginal functions, normals to inverse images of sets under set-valued mappings, calculus rules for coderivatives of single-valued and set-valued mappings, and calculating coderivatives of solution maps to parameterized generalized equations governed by set-valued mappings with convex graphs.  相似文献

We consider some metric regularity properties of order q for set-valued mappings and we establish several characterizations of these concepts in terms of Hölder-like properties of the inverses of the mappings considered. In addition, we show that even if these properties are weaker than the classical notions of regularity for set-valued maps, they allow us to solve variational inclusions under mild assumptions.  相似文献

In this paper we establish new generalized differentiation rules in general Banach spaces regarding normal cones to set images under functions, coderivatives of compositions of set-valued mappings, as well as calculus results for normal compactness of sets and their images. In addition to the metric regularity of mappings, our results involve tangential distances of sets for which we also provide a fairly complete study by exploring its variations, basic properties, as well as relations to similar notions. Some related results are also established.  相似文献

This paper concerns with generalized differentiation of set-valued and nonsmooth mappings between Banach spaces. We study the so-called viscosity coderivatives of multifunctions and their limiting behavior under certain geometric assumptions on spaces in question related to the existence of smooth bump functions of any kind. The main results include various calculus rules for viscosity coderivatives and their topological limits. They are important in applications to variational analysis and optimization.  相似文献

The primary goal of this paper is to study some notions of normals to nonconvex sets in finite-dimensional and infinite-dimensional spaces and their images under single-valued and set-valued mappings. The main motivation for our study comes from variational analysis and optimization, where the problems under consideration play a crucial role in many important aspects of generalized differential calculus and applications. Our major results provide precise equality formulas (sometimes just efficient upper estimates) allowing us to compute generalized normals in various senses to direct and inverse images of nonconvex sets under single-valued and set-valued mappings between Banach spaces. The main tools of our analysis revolve around variational principles and the fundamental concept of metric regularity properly modified in this paper.  相似文献

This paper provides new developments in generalized differentiation theory of variational analysis with their applications to metric regularity of parameterized constraint and variational systems in finite-dimensional and infinite-dimensional spaces. Our approach to the study of metric regularity for these two major classes of parametric systems is based on appropriate coderivative constructions for set-valued mappings and on extended calculus rules supporting their computation and estimation. The main attention is paid in this paper to the so-called reversed mixed coderivative, which is of crucial importance for efficient pointwise characterizations of metric regularity in the general framework of set-valued mappings between infinite-dimensional spaces. We develop new calculus results for the latter coderivative that allow us to compute it for large classes of parametric constraint and variational systems. On this basis we derive verifiable sufficient conditions, necessary conditions as well as complete characterizations for metric regularity of such systems with computing the corresponding exact bounds of metric regularity constants/moduli. This approach allows us to reveal general settings in which metric regularity fails for major classes of parametric variational systems. Furthermore, the developed coderivative calculus leads us also to establishing new formulas for computing the radius of metric regularity for constraint and variational systems, which characterize the maximal region of preserving metric regularity under linear (and other types of) perturbations and are closely related to conditioning aspects of optimization.  相似文献

In this paper we study some properties of sets, set-valued mappings, and extended-real-valued functions unified under the name of “sequential normal compactness.” These properties automatically hold in finite-dimensional spaces, while they play a major role in infinite-dimensional variational analysis. In particular, they are essential for calculus rules involving generalized differential constructions, for stability and metric regularity results and their broad applications, for necessary optimality conditions in constrained optimization and optimal control, etc. This paper contains principal results ensuring the preservation of sequential normal compactness properties under various operations over sets, set-valued mappings, and functions.  相似文献

The paper concerns the study of variational systems described by parameterized generalized equations/variational conditions important for many aspects of nonlinear analysis, optimization, and their applications. Focusing on the fundamental properties of metric regularity and Lipschitzian stability, we establish various qualitative and quantitative relationships between these properties for multivalued parts/fields of parametric generalized equations and the corresponding solution maps for them in the framework of arbitrary Banach spaces of decision and parameter variables.  相似文献

The paper introduces and studies the notions of Lipschitzian and Hölderian full stability of solutions to three-parametric variational systems described in the generalized equation formalism involving nonsmooth base mappings and partial subgradients of prox-regular functions acting in Hilbert spaces. Employing advanced tools and techniques of second-order variational analysis allows us to establish complete characterizations of, as well as directly verifiable sufficient conditions for, such full stability properties under mild assumptions. Furthermore, we derive exact formulas and effective quantitative estimates for the corresponding moduli. The obtained results are specified for important classes of variational inequalities and variational conditions in both finite and infinite dimensions.  相似文献

This paper concerns the study of Lipschitzian stability of fully parameterized generalized equations in which both single-valued and set-valued functions depend on parameters. Various relationships between the Lipschitz-like and metric regularity properties of the solution mapping, the base mapping, or field mapping in the fully perturbed generalized equations are established by using the Dontchev–Hager Fixed Point Theorem. The implicit mapping theorem for metric regularity is also extended to fully parameterized generalized equations.  相似文献

We introduce new differentiability properties of functions between Banach spaces and establish their relationships with graphical regularity of Lipschitzian single-valued and set-valued mappings. The proofs are based on advanced tools of nonsmooth variational analysis including new results on coderivative scalarization and normal cone calculus.

This paper investigates solution stability of parametric variational inequalities over Euclidean balls in finite dimensional spaces. We provide exact formulas for computing required coderivatives of the normal cone mappings to Euclidean balls via the initial data. On the basis of these formulas, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for Lipschitzian stability of the solution maps of the aforementioned variational inequalities.  相似文献

Some properties, connected with recent generalizations of the classic notion of Lipschitz continuity for multifunctions, are investigated with reference to variational systems, that is to solution maps associated to parametrized generalized equations. The latter ones are a convenient framework to address several questions, mainly related to the stability and sensitivity analysis, arising in mathematical programming, optimal control, equilibrium and variational inequality theory. Global and local criteria for metric regularity and Lipschitz-likeness of variational systems are obtained. Some applications to the exact penalization of mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints and to the Lipschitzian stability of fixed points for multivalued contractions are then considered.  相似文献

We develop an extended generalized differential calculus for normal cones to nonconvex sets, coderivatives of set-valued mappings, and subdifferential of extended-real-valued functions in infinite dimensions. This is a major area of modern variational analysis important for many applications, particularly to optimization, sensitivity, and control. We develop a unified geometric approach to the generalized differential calculus and obtain new results in this direction in a broad setting of Asplund spaces.  相似文献

Normal compactness conditions are important properties of sets, set-valued mappings in variational analysis, which are generalized versions of the classical Lipschitzian property and are essential for the calculus of generalized differentiation theory. In this paper we propose the notion called the generalized sequential normal compactness, and establish its basic properties and calculus in general Banach spaces.  相似文献

This paper mainly deals with the study of directional versions of metric regularity and metric subregularity for general set-valued mappings between infinite-dimensional spaces. Using advanced techniques of variational analysis and generalized differentiation, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions, which extend even the known results for the conventional metric regularity. Finally, these results are applied to non-smooth optimization problems. We show that that at a locally optimal solution M-stationarity conditions are fulfilled if the constraint mapping is subregular with respect to one critical direction and that for every critical direction a M-stationarity condition, possibly with different multipliers, is fulfilled.  相似文献

The metric regularity of multifunctions plays a crucial role in modern variational analysis and optimization. This property is a key to study the stability of solutions of generalized equations. Many practical problems lead to generalized equations associated to the sum of multifunctions. This paper is devoted to study the metric regularity of the sum of multifunctions. As the sum of closed multifunctions is not necessarily closed, almost all known results in the literature on the metric regularity for one multifunction (which is assumed usually to be closed) fail to imply regularity properties of the sum of multifunctions. To avoid this difficulty, we use an approach based on the metric regularity of so-called epigraphical multifunctions and the theory of error bounds to study the metric regularity of the sum of two multifunctions, as well as some related important properties of variational systems. Firstly, we establish the metric regularity of the sum of a regular multifunction and a pseudo-Lipschitz multifunction with a suitable Lipschitz modulus. These results subsume some recent results by Durea and Strugariu. Secondly, we derive coderivative characterizations of the metric regularity of epigraphical multifunctions associated with the sum of multifunctions. Applications to the study of the behavior of solutions of variational systems are reported.  相似文献
