Let and be polynomials orthogonal on the unit circle with respect to the measures dσ and dμ, respectively. In this paper we consider the question how the orthogonality measures dσ and dμ are related to each other if the orthogonal polynomials are connected by a relation of the form , for , where . It turns out that the two measures are related by if , where and are known trigonometric polynomials of fixed degree and where the 's are the zeros of on . If the 's and 's are uniformly bounded then (under some additional conditions) much more can be said. Indeed, in this case the measures dσ and dμ have to be of the form and , respectively, where are nonnegative trigonometric polynomials. Finally, the question is considered to which weight functions polynomials of the form where denotes the reciprocal polynomial of , can be orthogonal. We construct a family of maximal commutative subalgebras in the tensor product of n copies of the universal enveloping algebra U ( ) of a semisimple Lie algebra . This family is parameterized by finite sequences μ, z 1, ..., z n , where μ ∈ * and z i ∈ ℂ. The construction presented here generalizes the famous construction of the higher Gaudin Hamiltonians due to Feigin, Frenkel, and Reshetikhin. For n = 1, the corresponding commutative subalgebras in the Poisson algebra S( ) were obtained by Mishchenko and Fomenko with the help of the argument shift method. Let be the 2k-uniform hypergraph obtained by letting P1, . . .,Pr be pairwise disjoint sets of size k and taking as edges all sets PiPj with ij. This can be thought of as the ‘k-expansion’ of the complete graph Kr: each vertex has been replaced with a set of size k. An example of a hypergraph with vertex set V that does not contain can be obtained by partitioning V = V1 ∪V2 and taking as edges all sets of size 2k that intersect each of V1 and V2 in an odd number of elements. Let denote a hypergraph on n vertices obtained by this construction that has as many edges as possible. For n sufficiently large we prove a conjecture of Frankl, which states that any hypergraph on n vertices that contains no has at most as many edges as . Sidorenko has given an upper bound of for the Tur′an density of for any r, and a construction establishing a matching lower bound when r is of the form 2p+1. In this paper we also show that when r=2p+1, any -free hypergraph of density looks approximately like Sidorenko’s construction. On the other hand, when r is not of this form, we show that corresponding constructions do not exist and improve the upper bound on the Turán density of to , where c(r) is a constant depending only on r. The backbone of our arguments is a strategy of first proving approximate structure theorems, and then showing that any imperfections in the structure must lead to a suboptimal configuration. We construct a sequence (n k ) such that n k + 1n k → ∞ and for any ergodic dynamical system (X, Σ, μ, T) and f ε L 1(μ) the averages converge to X f dμ for μ almost every x. Since the above sequence is of zero Banach density this disproves a conjecture of J. Rosenblatt and M. Wierdl about the nonexistence of such sequences. Let m and n be positive integers, and μ the M"bius function. And let S f(m,n) be the function defined by , where f is an arithmetical function. We show that this function has many properties like the Ramanujan sum. Firstly we study the partial summation formula involving S f(m,n) and taking f=μ, we obtain the Dirichlet series with the coefficients Sμ(m,n) and Sμ(m,n)d(m). Moreover we show a certain property which is analogous to the orthogonality relation of the Ramanujan sums. In this survey paper the delay differential equation (t) = −μx(t) + g(x(t − 1)) is considered with μ ≥ 0 and a smooth real function g satisfying g(0) = 0. It is shown that the dynamics generated by this simple-looking equation can be very rich. The dynamics is completely understood only for a small class of nonlinearities. Open problems are formulated. Given a positive locally finite Borel measure μ on R, a natural way to construct multifractal wavelet series is to set , where . Indeed, under suitable conditions, it is shown that the function Fμ inherits the multifractal properties of μ. The transposition of multifractal properties works with many classes of statistically selfsimilar multifractal measures, enlarging the class of processes which have self-similarity properties and controlled multifractal behaviors. Several perturbations of the wavelet coefficients and their impact on the multifractal nature of Fμ are studied. As an application, multifractal Gaussian processes associated with Fμ are created. We obtain results for the multifractal spectrum of the so-called W-cascades introduced by Arnéodo et al.  相似文献

We study some properties of the space (L1,X) of all continuous linear operators acting from L1 to a Banach space X. It is proved that every operator T ∈ (L1, X) ``almost' attains its norm at the entire positive cone of functions supported at some suitable measurable subset , μ(A) > 0. Using this fact and a new elementary technique we prove that every operator T∈ (L1) = (L1, L1) is uniquely represented in the form T= R+S, R, S∈ (L1) , where R is representable and S possess a special property (*). Moreover, this representation generates a decomposition of the space (L1) into complemented subspaces by means of contractive projections (the fact that the subspace of all representable operators is complemented in (L1) was proved before by Z. We study the complete Kahler-Einstein metric of a Hartogs domainΩbuilt on an irreducible bounded symmetric domainΩ, using a power Nμof the generic norm ofΩ.The generating function of the Kahler-Einstein metric satisfies a complex Monge-Ampere equation with a boundary condition. The domainΩis in general not homogeneous, but it has a subgroup of automorphisms, the orbits of which are parameterized by X∈[0,1[. This allows us to reduce the Monge-Ampere equation to an ordinary differential equation with a limit condition. This equation can be explicitly solved for a special valueμ0 ofμ.. We work out the details for the two exceptional symmetric domains. The special valueμ0 seems also to be significant for the properties of other invariant metrics like the Bergman metric; a conjecture is stated, which is proved for the exceptional domains.  相似文献

We characterize the absolutely continuous (with respect to Lebesgue measure) component and the singular component of a stochastic measure-valued process μt = μ ○ ϕ t −1 that is the image of a certain absolutely continuous measure μ under random mapping ϕt(·). In this paper, the author solves the Dirichlet problem for Hermitian-Poisson metric equation √?1ΛωGH = λId and proves the existence of Hermitian-Poisson metrics on flat bundles over a class of complete Hermitian manifolds. In this paper the Cauchy problem for the following nonhomogeneous Burgers’ equation is considered : (1)u t +uu x =μu xx kx,xR,t > 0, where μ and k are positive constants. Since the nonhomogeneous term kx does not belong to any Lp(R) space, this type of equation is beyond usual Sobolev framework in some sense. By Hopf-Cole transformation, (1) takes the form (2)ϕ t ϕ xx = −x 2 ϕ. With the help of the Hermite polynomials and their properties, (1) and (2) are solved exactly. Moreover, the large time behavior of the solutions is also considered, similar to the discussion in Hopf’s paper. Especially, we observe that the nonhomogeneous Burgers’ equation (1) is nonlinearly unstable.  相似文献

在线性回归模型建模中, 回归自变量选择是一个受到广泛关注、文献众多, 具有很强的理论和实际意义的问题. 回归自变量选择子集的相合性是其中一个重要问题, 如果某种自变量选择方法选择的子集在样本量趋于无穷时是相合的, 而且预测均方误差较小, 则这种方法是可取的. 利用BIC准则可以挑选相合的自变量子集, 但是在自变量个数很多时计算量过大; 适应lasso方法具有较高计算效率, 也能找到相合的自变量子集; 本文提出一种更简单的自变量选择方法, 只需要计算两次普通线性回归: 第一次进行全集回归, 得到全集的回归系数估计, 然后利用这些回归系数估计挑选子集, 然后只要在挑选的自变量子集上再进行一次普通线性回归就得到了回归结果. 考虑如下的回归模型: 其中回归系数中非零分量下标的集合为, 设是本文方法选择的自变量子集下标集合, 是本文方法估计的回归系数(未选中的自变量对应的系数为零), 本文证明了, 在适当条件下, 其中表示的 分量下标在中的元素的组成的向量, 是误差方差, 是与 矩阵极限有关的矩阵和常数. 数值模拟结果表明本文方法具有很好的中小样本性质.  相似文献

We will study the generic fiber over of the universal deformation ring R Q , as defined by Mazur, for deformations unramified outside a finite set of primes Q of a given Galois representation , E a number field, k a finite field of characteristic l. The main result will be that, if ˉρ is tame and absolutely irreducible, and if one assumes the Leopoldt conjecture for the splitting field E 0 of , then defines a smooth l-adic analytic variety, near the trivial lift ρ0 of ˉρ, whose dimension is given by cohomological constraints and as predicted by Mazur. As a corollary it follows that, in the cases considered here, R Q is a quotient of by an ideal I generated by exactly m equations, where and . Under the above assumptions for and ˉρ odd, using ideas of Coleman, Gouvêa and Mazur it should now be possible to show that modular points are Zariski-dense in the component of , that contains the trivial lift ρ0, provided this lift satisfies the Artin conjecture and E 0 satisfies the Leopoldt conjecture. Furthermore, in the Borel case, we show that the Krull dimension of R Q can exceed any given number, provided Q is chosen appropriately. At the same time, we present some evidence that despite this fact, one might however expect that the dimension of the generic fiber is given by the same cohomological formula as in the tame case. We study minimal topological realizations of families of ergodic measure preserving automorphisms (e.m.p.a.'s). Our main result is the following theorem. Theorem: Let {Tp:p∈I} be an arbitrary finite or countable collection of e.m.p.a.'s on nonatomic Lebesgue probability spaces (Y p v p ). Let S be a Cantor minimal system such that the cardinality of the set ε S of all ergodic S-invariant Borel probability measures is at least the cardinality of I. Then for any collection {μ p :pεI} of distinct measures from ε S there is a Cantor minimal system S′ in the topological orbit equivalence class of S such that, as a measure preserving system, (S 1 p ) is isomorphic to Tp for every p∈I. Moreover, S′ can be chosen strongly orbit equivalent to S if and only if all finite topological factors of S are measure-theoretic factors of Tp for all p∈I. This result shows, in particular, that there are no restrictions at all for the topological realizations of countable families of e.m.p.a.'s in Cantor minimal systems. Namely, for any finite or countable collection {T 1,T2,…} of e.m.p.a.'s of nonatomic Lebesgue probability spaces, there is a Cantor minimal systemS, whose collection {μ1,μ2…} of ergodic Borel probability measures is in one-to-one correspondence with {T 1,T2,…}, and such that (S i ) is isomorphic toT i for alli. Furthermore, since realizations are taking place within orbit equivalence classes of a given Cantor minimal system, our results generalize the strong orbit realization theorem and the orbit realization theorem of [18]. Let {f=0} be a hypersurface inC n+1 with a 1-dimensional singular set Σ. We consider the series of hypersurfaces {fx N=0} wherex is a generic linear form. We derive a formula, which relates the characteristic polynomials of the monodromies off andfx N. Other ingredients in this formula are the horizontal and the vertical monodromies of the transversal (isolated) singularities on each branch of the singular set. We give an explicit expression of a two-parameter family of Flensted-Jensen’s functions Ψ μα on a concrete realization of the universal covering group of U(1, 1). We prove that these functions are, up to a phase factor, radial eigenfunctions of the Landau Hamiltonian on the hyperbolic disc with a magnetic field strength proportional to μ, and corresponding to the eigenvalue 4α(α − 1).  相似文献

Summary Let X ∼ Np(μ,σ2Ip) and let s/σ2 ∼ χ n 2 , independent ofX, where μ and σ2 are unknown. This paper considers the estimation of μ (by δ) relative to a convex loss function given by (δ−μ)′[(1−α)Ip2+αQ](δ−μ)/[(1−α)p/σ2+α tr (Q)], whereQ is a knownp×p diagonal matrix and 0≦α≦1. Two classes of minimax estimators are obtained for μ whenp≦3; the first is a new result and the second is a generalization of a result of Strawderman (1973,Ann. Statist.,1, 1189–1194). A proper Bayes estimator is also obtained which is shown to satisfy the conditions of the second class of minimax estimators. The paper concludes by discussing the estimation of μ relative to another convex loss function.
