A closed formula for computing the regularity of the lex-segment ideal in terms of the Hilbert function is given. This regularity bounds the one of any ideal with the same Hilbert function. As a consequence, we give explicit expressions to bound the regularity of a projective scheme in terms of the coefficients of the Hilbert polynomial.

We also characterize, in terms of their coefficients, which polynomials are Hilbert polynomials of some projective scheme.

Finally, we provide some applications to estimates for the maximal degree of generators of Gröbner bases in terms of the degrees of defining equations.

This paper establishes several stability criteria for perturbed impulsive integro-differential equations with fixed moments of impulsive effect. By using a new comparison theorem, which connects the solutions of perturbed system and the unperturbed one, some sufficient conditions for the stability in terms of two measures are obtained for the perturbed system while unperturbed one dissatisfied which because of the effect of the perturbed terms.  相似文献

In this paper we prove, using a refinement of Terracini's Lemma, a sharp lower bound for the degree of (higher) secant varieties to a given projective variety, which extends the well known lower bound for the degree of a variety in terms of its dimension and codimension in projective space. Moreover we study varieties for which the bound is attained proving some general properties related to tangential projections, e.g. these varieties are rational. In particular we completely classify surfaces (and curves) for which the bound is attained. It turns out that these surfaces enjoy some maximality properties for their embedding dimension in terms of their degree or sectional genus. This is related to classical beautiful results of Castelnuovo and Enriques that we revise here in terms of adjunction theory.  相似文献

In this present article we have given some multiobjective programming problems with their symmetric duals and have derived weak and strong duality results with respect to such programs. Moreover, we have also used most general type of invexity assumptions involved with the functions which are related to the programming problems. It is to be pointed out that the objective functions in such programs contain terms like support functions which in turn are able to give results on particular classes of programs involving quadratic terms. Our results in particular give as special cases some earlier results on symmetric duals given in the current literature.  相似文献

We consider the Dirichlet problem for the p-Laplace equation with nonlinear gradient terms. In particular, these gradient terms cannot satisfy the Bernstein—Nagumo conditions. We obtain some sufficient conditions that guarantee the existence of a global bounded radially symmetric solution without any restrictions on the growth of the gradient term. Also we present some conditions on the function simulating the mass forces, which allow us to obtain a bounded radially symmetric solution under presence of an arbitrary nonlinear source.  相似文献

We recall L-shapes, which are minimal distance diagrams, related to weighted 2-Cayley digraphs, and we give the number and the relation between minimal distance diagrams related to the same digraph. On the other hand, we consider some classes of numerical semigroups useful in the study of curve singularity. Then, we associate L-shapes to each numerical 3-semigroup and we describe some main invariants of numerical 3-semigroups in terms of their associated L-shapes. Finally, we give a characterization of the parameters of the L-shapes associated with a numerical 3-semigroup in terms of its generators, and we use it to classify the numerical 3-semigroups of interest in curve singularity.  相似文献

In this paper, we present some new concepts of superlinearity and sublinearity for nonlinear terms of second-order ordinary differential systems, and then consider the existence of positive solutions for systems with such superlinear and sublinear nonlinear terms, especially proving the existence of positive solutions for systems in which one nonlinear term is superlinear and the other is sublinear.  相似文献

研究一类含非线性扰动和混合时变时滞的中立型系统时滞相关鲁棒稳定性问题.通过构造包含三重积分项的Lyapunov-Krasovskii的泛函,结合积分不等式和自由权矩阵技术,建立了基于线性矩阵不等式(LMI)形式的离散时滞和中立时滞均相关的稳定性新判据.判据扩大了系统稳定所允许的最大时滞上界范围,具有更低的保守性.利用MATLAB的LMI工具箱进行了数值仿真,仿真算例验证了所提出的稳定性判据的有效性.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider two versions of the Newton-type method for solving a nonlinear equations with nondifferentiable terms, which uses as iteration matrices, any matrix from B-differential of semismooth terms. Local and global convergence theorems for the generalized Newton and inexact generalized Newton method are proved. Linear convergence of the algorithms is obtained under very mild assumptions. The superlinear convergence holds under some conditions imposed on both terms of equation. Some numerical results indicate that both algorithms works quite well in practice.   相似文献

In this paper the Sine-Gordon-Equation (SGE) with some solvable perturbations is discussed in detail as well as physical conclusions are drawn.Unlike the usual form of perturbations in terms of trigonometric and hyperbolic functions, here, it is assumed that inhomogeneous terms appear as elliptic functions in quadratic powers.One suggests employing the analytic means for the investigation of some properties of special perturbed SGE which now has to be renamed into Jacobian-Gordon-Equation (JGE). Local principles associate with every element of a Banach algebra a family of local objects in terms of which the properties of the original element can be studied. In this paper some general relations between three such principles, usually affiliated with the names of Simonenko, Allan/Douglas, and Gohberg/Krupnik, are discussed. Special attention is paid to the question on how the norm of an element can be expressed in terms of the norms of the local objects associated with it. The general theory is illustrated by some concrete results on singular integral operators and Toeplitz operators.  相似文献

We give some characterizations of isometries (contractions) which are perturbations with compact operators of a given arbitrary isometry, in terms of certain natural factorizations. As a consequence we obtain general parametric representations of these perturbations.

This work is concerned with a system of two wave equations with nonlinear damping and source terms acting in both equations. Under some restrictions on the nonlinearity of the damping and the source terms, we show that our problem has a unique local solution. Also, we prove that, for some restrictions on the initial data, the rate of decay of the total energy is exponential or polynomial depending on the exponents of the damping terms in both equations.  相似文献

The conditions under which a 2-monotone lower prevision can be uniquely updated (in the sense of focusing) to a conditional lower prevision are determined. Then a number of particular cases are investigated: completely monotone lower previsions, for which equivalent conditions in terms of the focal elements of the associated belief function are established; random sets, for which some conditions in terms of the measurable selections can be given; and minitive lower previsions, which are shown to correspond to the particular case of vacuous lower previsions.  相似文献

This paper presents some conditions for the minimal Q-function to be a Feller transition function, for a given q-matrix Q. We derive a sufficient condition that is stated explicitly in terms of the transition rates. Furthermore, some necessary and sufficient conditions are derived of a more implicit nature, namely in terms of properties of a system of equations (or inequalities) and in terms of the operator induced by the q-matrix. The criteria lead to some perturbation results. These results are applied to birth-death processes with killing, yielding some sufficient and some necessary conditions for the Feller property directly in terms of the rates. An essential step in the analysis is the idea of associating the Feller property with individual states.  相似文献

We generalize some old and new results on the determination of jumps of a periodic, Lebesgue integrable function f at each point of discontinuity of first kind in terms of the partial sums of the conjugate series to the Fourier series of f in [1], and in terms of the Abel-Poisson means in [2], to some more general linear operators which satisfy some certain conditions. The linear operators in discussion include the Fejér means, de la Vallée-Poussin means, and Bernstein-Rogosinski sums. In this note we investigate some basic properties of the level sets of functions which are homogeneous with respect to nonisotropic dilations. In particular we obtain a formula for the volume of the level sets in terms of the area on the level surfaces. Associated to a toric variety X of dimension r over a field k is a fan Δ on R1. The fan Δ is a finite set of cones which are in one-to-one correspondence with the orbits of the torus action on X. The fan Δ inherits the Zariski topology from X. In this article some cohomological invariants of X are studied in terms of whether or not they depend only on Δ and not k. Secondly some numerical invariants of X are studied in terms of whether or not they are topological invariants of the fan Δ. That is, whether or not they depend only on the finite topological space defined on Δ. The invariants with which we are mostly concerned are the class group of Weil divisors, the Picard group, the Brauer group and the dimensions of the torsion free part of the etale cohomology groups with coefficients in the sheaf of units. The notion of an open neighborhood of a fan is introduced and examples are given for which the above invariants are sufficiently fine to give nontrivial stratifications of an open neighborhood of a fan all of whose maximal cones are nonsimplicia.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the initial-boundary value problem for a class of singular parabolic equations. Under some conditions, we obtain the existence and asymptotic behavior of solutions to the problem by parabolic regularization method and the sub-super solutions method. As a byproduct, we prove the existence of solutions to some problems with gradient terms, which blow up on the boundary.  相似文献
