A novel Er(3+)/Pr(3+) codoped germanate glass was fabricated and analyzed. Efficient emission at 2.7 μm from the glass was observed upon excitation of a conventional 980 nm laser diode. The 2.7 μm emission characteristics and energy transfer (ET) were investigated. Population inversions between ?I(13/2) and ?I(11/2) levels have been achieved, and an enhanced emission from 2550 to 2800 nm was obtained. Large ET efficiency of 95% indicates that the ET process from Er(3+) to Pr(3+) (?I(13/2), 3H?)→(?I(15/2), 3F?) is efficient and that Pr(3+) can enhance the emission of 2.7 μm by quenching the lower laser level of Er(3+) via ET.  相似文献

Pulsed blue light at 489 nm has been generated by second-harmonic-generation of a nanosecond pulsed master-oscillator power amplifier system based on a short Yb(3+) doped single-mode fiber amplifier at 978 nm and an external-cavity diode laser as seed source. The Yb(3+)-doped fiber was core-pumped by a W type Nd(3+) doped double-clad fiber laser operating on the transition near 930 nm ((4)F(3/2)→(4)I(9/2)). 520 mW of average power was generated at 489 nm using a periodically poled MgO:LiNbO(3), corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 34%.  相似文献

We report what is believed to be the first resonantly pumped laser operation based on Er(3+)-doped disordered double tungstate single crystal. Efficient laser operation of an Er(3+):NaY(WO(4))(2) laser at ~1609.6 nm was demonstrated with the naturally wideband, ~20 nm, InGaAsP/InP laser diode pumping at ~1501 nm. Laser wavelength tunability of ~34 nm was also demonstrated based on disorder-broadened emission features of Er(3+):NaY(WO(4))(2) single crystal.  相似文献

研究了Er3+/Yb3+共掺、Tm3+/Yb3+共掺、Er3+/Yb3+/Tm3+共掺碲酸盐玻璃在970nm抽运下的荧光光谱和上转换光谱性质,测试了Er3+离子的4I11/2和4I13/2能级荧光寿命变化情况.结果发现Er3+/Yb3+/Tm3+共掺碲酸盐玻璃的常规荧光谱线在1450—1700nm区域明显加宽,并在1630nm有一荧光峰,可能是Tm3+:1G4→3F2跃迁产生.上转换发光研究表明,由于碲酸盐玻璃声子能量低的缘故,三种共掺系统下都存在上转换发光现象.在Er3+/Yb3+/Tm3+共掺中,上转 关键词: Er3+/Yb3+/ Tm3+共掺 碲酸盐玻璃 荧光 上转换光谱  相似文献

High-sensitive multi-species detection around 1550 nm using a modulated grating Y-branch, MG-Y, diode laser tunable between 1529 nm and 1565 nm is presented. The MG-Y diode laser is based on the Vernier effect of two modulated gratings, and exhibits quasi-continuous tuning over 36 nm. Multi-species detection is achieved by fast sequential scanning of single absorption lines of CH4, CO, C2H2, and CO2 distributed over the tuning range of the diode laser. The laser wavelength is scanned about 10 GHz around each absorption line for 5 ms and this is followed by a discrete large jump in operating wavelength to the next line.  相似文献

在Nd:YVO4晶体的4F3/2-4I13/2跃迁带内,除了1342 nm激光辐射之外,其它的跃迁谱线由于小的受激发射截面和强的寄生振荡,很难形成激光振荡.通过调整谐振腔损耗,获得了光纤耦合激光二极管端面抽运1386 nmNd:YVO4激光器激光连续输出.在抽运功率达到4.24 W时,得到了305 mW的1386 nm激光连续输出,最高输出功率下的斜效率为13.9%.实验中还观察到了1342 nm和1386 nm的双波长运转.根据抽运阈值能量和实验数据,计算得到了Nd:YVO4晶体中1386 nm激光辐射处的受激发射截面大约为(3±1)×10-19cm2.  相似文献

Actively Q-switched self-frequency-doubling laser at 800 nm was first reported in an Er:Yb:YAl3(BO3)4 crystal by using an acousto-optical modulator. At incident pump power of 16 W and pulse repetition frequency of 1 kHz, 1600 nm fundamental pulse laser with energy of 130 μJ and width of 170 ns, and self-frequency-doubling 800 nm pulse laser with energy of 20 μJ and width of 96 ns were respectively achieved in a hemispherical resonator end-pumped by a 970 nm laser diode. Pulse characteristics of fundamental and self-frequency-doubling lasers at different pulse repetition frequencies were also investigated.  相似文献

Diode laser frequency stability of 2 kHz to 680 Hz over 20 ms to 500 s has been demonstrated at 1523 nm in the technologically important communication band by use of persistent spectral holes in the inhomogeneously broadened 4I15/2 --> 4I13/2 optical absorption of Er3+:D-:CaF2. Laser frequency stabilization was realized without vibrational or acoustical isolation of either the laser or spectral hole frequency reference, providing the means for implementing a versatile, compact, stable source.  相似文献

We report room-temperature continuous-wave upconversion laser emission on the green transition (4)S(3/2)?(4)I(15/2) in Er(1%), Yb(3%):YLiF(4) at 551nm. Green laser operation was obtained for titanium-sapphire pump wavelengths continuously tunable between 955 and 974.5nm. Codoping with Yb(3+) resulted in a more efficient excitation of the upper laser level by upconversion processes. The maximum green laser output power was 37mW at an incident titanium-sapphire pump power level of 1580mW at 966nm.  相似文献

研究了掺铒TeO2-ZnO-PbCl2碲酸盐基氧卤玻璃在977nm激光二极管抽运下的发光和上转换发光特性,结果发现除红外153μm4I13/2→4I15/2发光外(荧光半高宽高达69nm),该玻璃还存在很强的2H11/2→4I15/2(527nm),4S3/2→4I15/2(549nm)和4F9/2→4I15/2(666nm)可见上转换发光.应用Judd-Ofelt理论计算得到玻璃强度参数Ωt(t=2,4,6)分别为Ω2=587×10-20cm2,Ω4=208×10-20cm2,Ω6=116×10-20cm2,计算了铒离子跃迁振子强度、自发辐射概率、荧光分支比、荧光寿命等光谱参量.应用McCumber理论计算得153μm处的玻璃受激发射截面可达875×10-21cm2实验结果表明,与硅酸盐玻璃、磷酸盐玻璃、氟化物玻璃等比较,掺铒碲酸盐基氧卤玻璃在宽带掺铒光纤放大器和上转换激光器中有着极大的研究和应用潜力. 关键词: 掺Er3+ 碲酸盐玻璃 氧卤玻璃 Judd-Ofelt理论 光谱性质  相似文献

We presented the first demonstration of a special S-band Yb-doped fiber laser with a central wavelength of 1012 nm. By pumping common alumosilicate fiber doped with 974 nm laser diode, efficient lasing at 1012 nm was achieved with a maximal output power of 331 mW and 55% power conversion efficiency. We also built a fiber amplifier to validate the feasibility of the 1012 nm laser as the tandem pump source by boosting the 1064 nm C-band laser power up. The slope efficiency of the tandem-pumped fiber amplifier is 63%.  相似文献

研究了Er^3 /Yb^3 共掺氧氟硅酸盐玻璃的吸收光谱、上转换光谱和拉曼光谱。分析了氧氟硅酸盐玻璃中Yb”敏化Er^3 的上转换发光机理。结果表明:通过975nm的激光二极管激发,在室温下同时观察到蓝光(408nm)、绿光(529nm和545nm)和红光(667nm),分别是由于Er^3 离子。H9/2→^4I15/2,H11/2→^4I15/2,H3/2→^4I15/2和H9/2→^4I15/2跃迁。随Yb2O3浓度的增加。Yb^3 对Er^3 的能量转移增强,因此蓝光、绿光和红光的发光强度都增强,强烈的绿光和红光激发是由于双光子吸收过程,而微弱的蓝光是由于三光子吸收过程。拉曼光谱发现,对Er^3 离子在氧氟硅酸盐玻璃中的上转换发光。玻璃结构中的PbF2起到重要作用。  相似文献

We present what we believe to be the first true three-level laser based on a Nd-doped crystal. From the 4F3/24I9/2 laser transition, the lower laser level being the ground state, emission at 879 nm in NdGdVO4 has been obtained with diode pumping. Up to 0.8 W of power has been achieved in cw operation and 24 microJ per pulse (35 ns) in the Q-switched regime. Intracavity second-harmonic generation in the pulsed regime is also demonstrated with 17 8 mW of average output power at 439.5 nm, corresponding to an energy of 17microJ per pulse.  相似文献

We report the first demonstration to our knowledge of passive mode locking in a diode-pumped Er(3+) and Yb(3+) codoped YAl(3)(BO(3))(4) laser operating in the 1.5-1.6 microm spectral region. Low-loss GaInNAs quantum-well semiconductor saturable absorber mirrors are used for the initiation and stabilization of the ultrashort-pulse generation. Pulses as short as 4.8 ps were generated at 1530 nm with an average output power up to 280 mW for 2 W of absorbed pump power produced by a high-brightness tapered 980 nm laser diode. Passive mode locking has also been demonstrated around 1555 nm with typical average powers of around 100 mW and pulse durations of 5.1 ps.  相似文献

Laser oscillation at a wavelength of 1520 nm was obtained in an Er:Yb:YAl(3)(BO(3))(4) crystal end pumped by a 970 nm diode laser. Under the absorbed pump power of 14.6 W, quasi-continuous-wave output powers of 1.1 W with slope efficiency of 13% and 0.8 W with slope efficiency of 11% were achieved in hemispherical and plano-plano cavities, respectively. The laser spectra were recorded for both cavities. The influence of the thermal load in the crystal on the 1520 nm laser oscillation was analyzed.  相似文献

用高温熔融法制备了Er3+∶Yb3+共掺的锂硅酸盐玻璃,在室温下,用976 nm半导体激光器泵浦该掺铒玻璃,在1550nm波段实现强的荧光发射,中心波长为1.5399μm,荧光半宽高为57.4nm.研究结果表明,锂硅酸盐玻璃系统能接受非常高的Er3+、Yb3+掺杂率,有较宽的荧光线宽,且具有良好的化学稳定性和热稳定性,是光纤放大器用理想的候选材料.  相似文献

Continuous-wave and Q-switched lasing from a Tm(3+)/Ho(3+) codoped tellurite fiber is reported. An Yb(3+)/Er(3+)-doped silica fiber laser operating at 1.6 microm was used as an in-band pump source, exciting the Tm(3+) ions into the (3)F(4) level. Energy is then nonradiatively transferred to the upper laser level, the (5)I(7) state of Ho(3+). The laser transition is from the (5)I(7) level to the (5)I(8) level, and the resulting emission is at 2.1 microm. For continuous wave operation, the slope efficiency was 62% and the threshold 0.1 W; the maximum output demonstrated was 0.16 W. Mechanical Q switching resulted in a pulse of 0.65 microJ energy and 160 ns duration at a repetition rate of 19.4 kHz.  相似文献

High energy picosecond pulse generation from a two contact tapered 5 quantum well (QW) InGaAlAs/InP diode laser (1550 nm) is investigated using a passive Q-switching technique. Single peak pulses with pulse energies as high as 500 pJ and durations of typically hundreds of picoseconds are obtained from the device by applying reverse bias voltages in the range of 0 V to ?18 V to the absorber section of the device. It is also demonstrated that more symmetrical Q-switched pulses are obtained by reducing the duration of electrical pulses applied to the gain section of the laser. Such an improvement is attributed to the reduced time of the population inversion in the gain section due to shorter electrical pulse. We also show comparatively the dependence of optical spectra on the reverse bias voltage for diode lasers emitting at 1550 nm and 1350 nm, and demonstrate that better spectral output is obtained from AlGaInAs lasers emitting at a wavelength of 1550 nm.  相似文献

报道了一种主要应用于激光测距的微型化激光二极管泵浦Er3+/Yb3+共掺磷酸盐玻璃被动调Q激光器。采用中心波长940nm的二极管作为泵浦源,Er3+/Yb3+共掺磷酸盐玻璃作为增益介质,Co2+:MgAl2O4作为被动调Q晶体,通过优化增益介质和被动调Q晶体参数,获得了最佳的增益介质长度和被动调Q晶体初始透过率。当泵浦能量14mJ,重复频率10Hz,泵浦脉宽5ms时,获得了单脉冲能量480μJ,脉宽5ns,峰值功率大于20kW的激光输出,激光光束质量因子为1.2。  相似文献

Highly efficient infrared-to-visible energy upconversion in Er(3+):Y(2)O(3)   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Very intense green and red emission was observed at room temperature from the (4)S(3/2) and (4)F(9/2) levels of Er(3+):Y(2)O(3). A cw diode laser at 975 nm was used as a pump for resonant sequential excitation of the (4)I(11/2) and (4)F(7/2) levels. The fluorescence was easily visible to the naked eye, even with 27 mW of excitation power. It was found that at 850 mW of cw excitation power the total luminance was 39,000 cd/m(2). This corresponds to ~100 muW of green emission and 270 muW of red emission.  相似文献
