Raman spectra of doped ZnSe crystals with the carrier densities n = 1017 to 1018 cm?3 have been investigated. It is found that the new intensitive peak appears in the spectra in the case when the plasmon-phonon frequency L+ falls within the region of two-phonon states. The frequency corresponding to this peak varies with carrier density. This fenomenon is explained by the anharmonic coupling of plasmon and two-phonon excitations.  相似文献

Summary In this work we have studied the influence of the impurity concentration on the phenomenon of fusing of deuterons, catalyzed by the ?efficacious? interaction with the plasmons of the metal. The numeric calculation, conducted on different metals considering the degree of impurities present in the reticulum, shows that the probability of fusion is amplified by the impurities. This result is confirmed qualitatively by the trend of the potential gap that describes the interaction inside the metal.  相似文献

The collective oscillations of a 2D quantum well electron plasma embedded in a semi-infinite host plasma medium (at a distancez0from the surface) are analyzed here, based on an explicit inversion of the joint dielectric function of the combined system in position representation in closed form. The coupling ofsurfaceand bulk plasmons of the host medium withintersubband and intrasubband plasmons of the quantum well, and the dependence of the coupled modes onz0are discussed.  相似文献

应用多光子非线性Compton散射模型、横等离激元色散方程和Karpman方法,研究了Compton散射对横等离激元与对等离子体作用特性的影响,提出了将入射超强激光和Compton散射作为横等离激元与对离子等离子体非线性作用新机制,给出了横等离激元非线性控制方程、等离激元数和能量公式。结果表明:与散射前相比,Compton散射使等离子体密度发生剧烈扰动,高频横等离激元与低密度扰动耦合非线性增强,导致横等离激元落入低密度区的几率增大。等离子体非线性频移和高密度区能量增加,低密度区能量减小,导致横等离激元电场包络迅速坍塌,等离激元数增加,场强度更强。  相似文献

We evaluate the hydrodynamic interaction tensors for two spheres of unequal size and for general mixed slip-stick boundary conditions. A method of reflections leads to a series expansion for the diffusion tensors in powers of the inverse distance l?1 between sphere centers and explicit results are derived through terms of order l?7. It turns out that the series expansion for the diffusion tensors converges much more rapidly than that for the friction tensors.  相似文献

The hydrodynamic interactions between two rotating tori is studied. Two kinds of problems are addressed. The interaction between two force free tori is examined, for co and counter rotating cases, which should be relevant in the case of swimming of two toroidal animals and form the basis for interaction of a swarm of such swimmers, apart from the dynamics of a collection of stiff polymer rings. The second problem is the case of two non-translating rotating tori, a possible configuration in toroidal mixers for microfluidic devices. In the former case, analytical expression for translational velocity shows good agreement with the theory in the far field case and show a strong reduction in the velocities in the lubrication limit for the co-rotating case. The velocities are found to monotonically reduce to zero in the case of counter-rotating tori. For the latter case, the expression for velocity field is derived the net force acting on the torus is analytically calculated. The comparison with numerical results is encouraging both in the case of co as well as counter-rotation. The expressions derived for velocities should be useful in estimating pseudo-potentials between such pairs.  相似文献

In the paper we consider the problem of the electrostatic interaction between two charged conducting spheres with arbitrary electrical charges and radiuses. Using the image charges method we determine exact analytical formulas for the force F and for the potential energy W of the interaction between these two spheres as well as for the potential V of the electromagnetic field in an arbitrary point created by them. Our formulas lead to Coulomb’s law for point charges.We theoretically prove the experimentally shown fact that two spheres with the same type (positive or negative) of charges can also attract each other.  相似文献

The backscattering of sound from two regularly arranged bubbles is studied theoretically and experimentally. In well-controlled laboratory experiments a bistatic acoustic system is used to interrogate the scatterers, which are placed on a very fine thread at the same distance d from the combined beam axis of the set of transmitting and receiving transducers. The radius of each bubble is 585 microm. The frequency range is 80-140 kHz, and d is varied so that the variable kd spans the range 0.2-21, where k is the acoustic wave number. Scattering calculations are carried out using an exact, closed-form solution derived from the multiple scattering series. Several experiments are performed, and the results are in close agreement with the calculations. It is verified that multiple scattering induces an oscillatory behavior about the exact coherent scattering level, with decreasing amplitude for increasing kd. Surface plasmon instability appearing during the interaction of plasmons with a flux of charged particles crossing the interface between media with different electromagnetic properties is predicted. The conditions under which instability appears are determined and the increments are found. Particles floating at the surface of a liquid generally deform the liquid surface. Minimizing the energetic cost of these deformations results in an inter-particle force which is usually attractive and causes floating particles to aggregate and form surface clusters. Here we present a numerical method for determining the three-dimensional meniscus around a pair of vertical circular cylinders. This involves the numerical solution of the fully nonlinear Laplace-Young equation using a mesh-free finite difference method. Inter-particle force-separation curves for pairs of vertical cylinders are then calculated for different radii and contact angles. These results are compared with previously published asymptotic and experimental results. For large inter-particle separations and conditions such that the meniscus slope remains small everywhere, good agreement is found between all three approaches (numerical, asymptotic and experimental). This is as expected since the asymptotic results were derived using the linearized Laplace-Young equation. For steeper menisci and smaller inter-particle separations, however, the numerical simulation resolves discrepancies between existing asymptotic and experimental results, demonstrating that this discrepancy was due to the nonlinearity of the Laplace-Young equation.  相似文献

We present a theoretical study of the behaviour of two active particles under the action of harmonic traps kept at a fixed distance away from each other. We classify the steady configurations the squirmers develop as a function of their self-propelling velocity and the active stresses the swimmers induce around them. We have further analyzed the stability of such configurations, and have found that the ratio between their self-propelling velocity and the apolar flow generated through active stresses determines whether collinear parallel squirmers or perpendicularly swimming particles moving away from each other are stable. Therefore, there is a close connection between the stable configurations and the active mechanisms leading to the particle self-propulsion. The trap potential does not affect the stability of the configurations; it only modifies some of their relevant time scales. We have also observed the development of characteristic frequencies which should be observable. Finally, we show that the development of the hydrodynamic flows induced by the active particles may be relevant even when its time scale orders of magnitude smaller than the other present characteristic time scales and may destabilize the stable configurations.  相似文献

This study reports the first experimental demonstration that two light pulses were made motionless and interacted with each other through a medium. The scheme with motionless light pulses maximizes the interaction time and can achieve a considerable efficiency even below single-photon level. To demonstrate the enhancement of optical nonlinear efficiency, the experiment in this study used the process of one optical pulse switched by another based on the effect of electromagnetically induced transparency. Moving light pulses activate switching at an energy per area of 2 photons per atomic absorption cross section as discussed in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 82, 4611 (1999)]. This study demonstrates that motionless light pulses can activate switching at 0.56 photons per atomic absorption cross section, and that the light level can be further reduced by increasing the optical density of the medium. The result of this work enters a new regime of low-light physics.  相似文献
