Collisions between two excited atoms leading to an increase in the excitation energy of the particles have been under investigation. All measurements were made in the afterglow of gas-discharge plasma. The cross sections of the following reactions have been determined: Hg(63P012) + Hg(63P012) → Hg7 + Hg(61S0), Hem (21,3S) + Xem(3P0,2) → (Xe+)1 + He0 + e. The cross section of the first reaction for different transitions lies in the region (2?35) × 10?15 cm2 and the cross section of the second, in (0.2?2.4) × 10?16 cm2. Possible systematic errors and the role of cascade transitions are discussed. Cross sections of the Penning reaction Hem + Xe0 → He0 + Xe+ + e have also been measured. The result is σ (23S) = (1.4 ± 0.2) × 10?15 cm2, σ (21S) = (1.2 ± 0.3) × 10?15 cm2.  相似文献

Discharges through mixtures of helium and neon show two band groups near 4250 and 4100 Å as first observed by Druyvesteyn. These bands, assigned to the HeNe+ ion by Tanaka, Yoshino, and Freeman, have been studied under high resolution and have been fairly completely analyzed. The upper state of the transition is a very weakly bound state resulting from He+(2S) + Ne(1S0). There are two lower states resulting from the two components of Ne+(2P) + He(1S0). The upper of these two (2Π12) is also very weakly bound while the lower of the two, the 2Σ+ ground state, has a dissociation energy of 0.69 eV and an re value of 1.30 Å. All bands in both band groups show four branches designated Rff, Qef, Qfe, and Pee. From their analysis the rotational constants in the various vibrational levels of the three electronic states have been determined. While no spin splitting in the B2Σ+ state has been found the ground state X2Σ shows a very large spin splitting and the A22Π12 state a very large Ω-type doubling. The vibrational numberings in all these states were established by the study of the spectrum of 3HeNe+. At the same time the hyperfine structure observed in all lines of 3HeNe+ confirmed the nature of the upper state B2Σ+ as resulting from He+ + Ne, i.e., by charge exchange from the ground state. The 2Π12 component of the 2Π state has not been observed, presumably because of low intensity.  相似文献

We show that the enhancement mechanism proposed for non-leptonic decays of charmed mesons (D0, F+) is still important for decays of pseudoscalar mesons with b flavor, while its effect is small for mesons with t flavor. For the semi-leptonic branching ratios of B? (bu), B0(bd) and BS0(bs) we predict BR (B?evX ~' 9%, BR(B0evX) ~' BR(Bs0evX) ~' 5%. We can also derive the enhancement of the branching ratios of uncharmed final states in B decays, i.e. BR(B?Xsu) ~' 20 %, BR(B0Xsd) ≈ 10%, where Xsu(sd) = Kπ + ... + KKK + ... .  相似文献

We point out that existing data on the resonance shape of ?? provide useful bounds on the B meson mass: M(??)? 2 M(B) = 9?6+12 MeV if one uses the quark pair creation model. From the upper limits on B1B + BB1 production one gets M(??) ? 2M(B) < 37 MeV. We show how measurements of inclusive semileptonic B decays allow us to determine the electromagnetic mass splitting M(B0) ? M(B?) without having to identify exclusive B decays. As byproducts one obtains information on the B0-B? lifetime ratio and on B0-B0 mixing.  相似文献

We show that in Glauger theory the angle integrated cross section for 3H+, π0)3He has no peak as a function of energy through the 3,3 resonance region, thus suggesting a direct measurement to elucidate the nature of (π+, π0) reactions.  相似文献

The reactions K+pK1+(890)p, K+pK1+(1420)p and K+p → K0Δ++ have been systematically studied for eleven incident momenta between 3.0 and 16.0 GeV/c. Cross sections, differential cross sections and density matrix elements are presented. For K1(890) production the contributions from natural and unnatural parity exchanges have also been separated into I = 0 and I = 1 components. Effective trajectories have been extracted in the case of natural parity exchange, and also for Δ++ production.  相似文献

Two band groups near 1450 Å, first observed by Tanaka, Yoshino, and Freeman (J. Chem. Phys.62, 4484–4496 (1975)) in discharges through mixtures of helium and argon and assigned by them to the HeAr+ ion, were studied under high resolution. Like the similar spectrum of HeNe+ previously investigated, the spectrum of HeAr+ is a charge transfer spectrum. The upper state B2Σ+ of both band groups is derived from He+(2S) + Ar(1S) while the two lower states A22Π12 and X2Σ+ are derived from He(1S) + Ar+(2P). All three states are very weakly bound, the two lower states even more weakly than the upper state. Unlike HeNe+ most of the HeAr+ bands are violet shaded. In the longward band group each band shows only three branches while in the shortward group there are four. The former observation shows that the A22Π12 state behaves like a 2Σ? state with γv ≈ 0. The B, D, γ, p, and ΔG values of all states were evaluated. While the Bv values of upper and lower states are nearly equal, the Dv values are quite different and this difference accounts for the violet shading of most of the bands even when Bv is slightly smaller than Bv; it also accounts for some of the extraheads and linelike features in the rotational structure. As in HeNe+ the 2Π32 component of 2Π was not observed.  相似文献

Rare decay modes of the f meson are studied in the final states Δ++π+π?π+π?, Δ++π+π?MM and Δ++π+π?π+π?MM. The ratio Γ (f → π+π?π0π0)Γ(f → π+π?) is 0.23 ± 0.09 and Γ(f → 4 π) saturates the f inelasticity. A 2 s.d. upper limit of 0.09 is found for the branching ratio (f → ηη)(f → 2π).  相似文献

A model is proposed to describe the near-threshold production of pions in the 3He(3He, π+)6Li reaction. Taking experimental data on the 3He(p, π+)4He process as input the cross sections for the first three levels of 6Li are reproduced semi-quantitatively.  相似文献

Massive lepton pair production in hadronic collisions, A + B → μ+μ? X, is usually assumed to proceed via ann intermediate virtual photon, ψ1 → μ+ μ?, the Drell-Yan process. We examine other contributions arising from heavy flavour production, A + BQQX; Q → μνX. We find that this background is comporable to the Drell-Yan signal at small values of Mμμ2/s but negligible at large values. Characteristic siggnatures are described that distinguish the background from the signal.  相似文献

The activation barrier ΔE1ABfor dissociation AB → A + B on transition-metal surfaces is analyzed within an additive Morse-type approach based on the bond-order conservation. It is shown that ΔE1AB = DAB?(QA + QB + QAQB/(QA + QB) where DAB is the gas-phase dissociation energy and QA(QB) is the heat of atomic chemisorption. Estimates of ΔE1 for H2, N2, O2, and NO are shown to be in reasonable agreement with experiment. The two-dimensional potential diagram of the metal-AB interactions is defined analytically and discussed in some detail.  相似文献

The dependence of the low-lying spectra of Λ, Σ9Be hypernuclei on hyperon-α interaction in the molecular α + α + Λ(Σ) scheme has been studied. A suggestion is made for obtaining the strengths of both p-wave and spin-orbit Λ-α interactions from the experimental Λ9Be spectrum. A relation between the Σ0-binding energies BΣ(Σ9Be) and BΣ(Σ9He) has been established and on its basis a prediction is made about a possible binding energy of Σ5He.  相似文献

The analysis of the reaction e+e?π+π? measured at the e+e? colliding beam machine ADONE shows that, if ?′ and ?″ exist, the cross sections compare as follows (taking the ? as the reference point): σ(e+e? → ? → π +π?): σ(e+e??′ → π+π?): σ(e+e??″ → π+π?) = 1: (7 ± 4) × 10?3: (1 ± 5) × 10?4. The reaction e + p → e′ + π+ + n was measured near the one pion threshold, detecting the final electron and neutron in coincidence for values of q2 = 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 GeV2. The normalized axial vector form factor to the nucleon FA(q2)FA(0) was determined from the data within a theoretical framework based on PCAC and current algebra.  相似文献

The cross sections for e+e? → e+(μ+ + non showering track + any photons have been measured for cm energies between 3.1 GeV and 5.2 GeV. We observe τ-pair production below the thresholdfor charm production and determine the τ mass to be 1.807 ± 0.020 GeV from a fit to the energy dependence of the cross section. The ration of the leptonic branching ratios Bμ/Be = 0.92 ± 0.32 is consistent with eμ-universality. The following branching ratios are determined for a V-A coupling: B(τ → ντeν) = B(τ → ντμν) = 0.182 + 0.028. B(τντ + charged hadron + any photons) = 0.29 ± 0.11, B(τντ + three or more charged hadrons + any photons) = 0.35 ± 0.11.  相似文献

A simple two-state mixing explanation of the failure of large-scale shell-model calculations to account for the B(M1) value of the (12)+1 → (32)+ (g.s.) transitions in 23Na allows an estimate to be made of the purity of the shell-model wavefunctions. The overlap between the shell-model and “true” wavefunctions turns out to be about 80% when the Preedom-Wildenthal interaction is used.  相似文献

In (heavy ion, xn) reactions, X-rays and low energy γ-rays emitted by the compound nuclei are investigated using a catcher system for recoiling nuclei within the 10–100 keV energy range. The nucleide 198Pb is studied by means of this technique. A 90 keV E2 (or E2 + M1) transition is identified together with information related to the 12+ → 10+E2 transition energy. The B(E2; 12+ → 10+) value is deduced. The effective charge extracted from the analysis of the reduced transition probability between two members of the (vi132)?2 multiplet is compared to the corresponding values for other lead isotopes.  相似文献
