A nonincreasing sequence of nonnegative integers π=(d1,d2,…,dn) is graphic if there is a (simple) graph G of order n having degree sequence π. In this case, G is said to realizeπ. For a given graph H, a graphic sequence π is potentiallyH-graphic if there is some realization of π containing H as a (weak) subgraph. Let σ(π) denote the sum of the terms of π. For a graph H and nZ+, σ(H,n) is defined as the smallest even integer m so that every n-term graphic sequence π with σ(π)≥m is potentially H-graphic. Let denote the complete t partite graph such that each partite set has exactly s vertices. We show that and obtain the exact value of σ(Kj+Ks,s,n) for n sufficiently large. Consequently, we obtain the exact value of for n sufficiently large.  相似文献

Let IP(N) stand for an ideal containing finite sets. We discuss various kinds of statistical convergence and I-convergence for sequences of functions with values in R or in a metric space. For real valued measurable functions defined on a measure space (X,M,μ), we obtain a statistical version of the Egorov theorem (when μ(X)<∞). We show that, in its assertion, equi-statistical convergence on a big set cannot be replaced by uniform statistical convergence. Also, we consider statistical convergence in measure and I-convergence in measure, with some consequences of the Riesz theorem. We prove that outer and inner statistical convergences in measure (for sequences of measurable functions) are equivalent if the measure is finite.  相似文献

We study degree sequences for simplicial posets and polyhedral complexes, generalizing the well-studied graphical degree sequences. Here we extend the more common generalization of vertex-to-facet degree sequences by considering arbitrary face-to-flag degree sequences. In particular, these may be viewed as natural refinements of the flag f-vector of the poset. We investigate properties and relations of these generalized degree sequences, proving linear relations between flag degree sequences in terms of the composition of rank jumps of the flag. As a corollary, we recover an f-vector inequality on simplicial posets first shown by Stanley.  相似文献

A graph X, with a subgroup G of the automorphism group of X, is said to be (G,s)-transitive, for some s≥1, if G is transitive on s-arcs but not on (s+1)-arcs, and s-transitive if it is -transitive. Let X be a connected (G,s)-transitive graph, and Gv the stabilizer of a vertex vV(X) in G. If X has valency 5 and Gv is solvable, Weiss [R.M. Weiss, An application of p-factorization methods to symmetric graphs, Math. Proc. Camb. Phil. Soc. 85 (1979) 43-48] proved that s≤3, and in this paper we prove that Gv is isomorphic to the cyclic group Z5, the dihedral group D10 or the dihedral group D20 for s=1, the Frobenius group F20 or F20×Z2 for s=2, or F20×Z4 for s=3. Furthermore, it is shown that for a connected 1-transitive Cayley graph of valency 5 on a non-abelian simple group G, the automorphism group of is the semidirect product , where R(G) is the right regular representation of G and .  相似文献

Gould, Jacobson and Lehel [R.J. Gould, M.S. Jacobson, J. Lehel, Potentially G-graphical degree sequences, in: Y. Alavi, et al. (Eds.), Combinatorics, Graph Theory and Algorithms, vol. I, New Issues Press, Kalamazoo, MI, 1999, pp. 451-460] considered a variation of the classical Turán-type extremal problems as follows: for any simple graph H, determine the smallest even integer σ(H,n) such that every n-term graphic sequence π=(d1,d2,…,dn) with term sum σ(π)=d1+d2+?+dnσ(H,n) has a realization G containing H as a subgraph. Let Ft,r,k denote the generalized friendship graph on ktkr+r vertices, that is, the graph of k copies of Kt meeting in a common r set, where Kt is the complete graph on t vertices and 0≤rt. In this paper, we determine σ(Ft,r,k,n) for k≥2, t≥3, 1≤rt−2 and n sufficiently large.  相似文献

We investigate the class R∞,s of rapidly varying sequences from different points of view. It is shown: (1) a sequence (cn)nN of positive real numbers is rapidly varying if and only if the corresponding function xc[x], x?1, is rapidly varying; (2) the class R∞,s satisfies some selection properties, as well as game-theoretical and Ramsey-theoretical conditions.  相似文献

Let G be a graph of order n and S be a vertex set of q vertices. We call G,S-pancyclable, if for every integer i with 3≤iq there exists a cycle C in G such that |V(C)∩S|=i. For any two nonadjacent vertices u,v of S, we say that u,v are of distance two in S, denoted by dS(u,v)=2, if there is a path P in G connecting u and v such that |V(P)∩S|≤3. In this paper, we will prove that if G is 2-connected and for all pairs of vertices u,v of S with dS(u,v)=2, , then there is a cycle in G containing all the vertices of S. Furthermore, if for all pairs of vertices u,v of S with dS(u,v)=2, , then G is S-pancyclable unless the subgraph induced by S is in a class of special graphs. This generalizes a result of Fan [G. Fan, New sufficient conditions for cycles in graphs, J. Combin. Theory B 37 (1984) 221-227] for the case when S=V(G).  相似文献

The pair length of a graph G is the maximum positive integer k, such that the vertex set of G can be partitioned into disjoint pairs {x,x}, such that d(x,x)?k for every xV(G) and xy is an edge of G whenever xy is an edge. Chen asked whether the pair length of the cartesian product of two graphs is equal to the sum of their pair lengths. Our aim in this short note is to prove this result.  相似文献

Let be the signed edge domination number of G. In 2006, Xu conjectured that: for any 2-connected graph G of order n(n≥2), . In this article we show that this conjecture is not true. More precisely, we show that for any positive integer m, there exists an m-connected graph G such that . Also for every two natural numbers m and n, we determine , where Km,n is the complete bipartite graph with part sizes m and n.  相似文献

In recent papers (cf. [J.L. Arregui, O. Blasco, (p,q)-Summing sequences, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 274 (2002) 812-827; J.L. Arregui, O. Blasco, (p,q)-Summing sequences of operators, Quaest. Math. 26 (2003) 441-452; S. Aywa, J.H. Fourie, On summing multipliers and applications, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 253 (2001) 166-186; J.H. Fourie, I. Röntgen, Banach space sequences and projective tensor products, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 277 (2) (2003) 629-644]) the concept of (p,q)-summing multiplier was considered in both general and special context. It has been shown that some geometric properties of Banach spaces and some classical theorems can be described using spaces of (p,q)-summing multipliers. The present paper is a continuation of this study, whereby multiplier spaces for some classical Banach spaces are considered. The scope of this research is also broadened, by studying other classes of summing multipliers. Let E(X) and F(Y) be two Banach spaces whose elements are sequences of vectors in X and Y, respectively, and which contain the spaces c00(X) and c00(Y) of all X-valued and Y-valued sequences which are eventually zero, respectively. Generally spoken, a sequence of bounded linear operators (un)⊂L(X,Y) is called a multiplier sequence from E(X) to F(Y) if the linear operator from c00(X) into c00(Y) which maps (xi)∈c00(X) onto (unxn)∈c00(Y) is bounded with respect to the norms on E(X) and F(Y), respectively. Several cases where E(X) and F(Y) are different (classical) spaces of sequences, including, for instance, the spaces Rad(X) of almost unconditionally summable sequences in X, are considered. Several examples, properties and relations among spaces of summing multipliers are discussed. Important concepts like R-bounded, semi-R-bounded and weak-R-bounded from recent papers are also considered in this context.  相似文献

Given two nonnegative integers s and t, a graph G is (s,t)-supereulerian if for any disjoint sets X,YE(G) with |X|≤s and |Y|≤t, there is a spanning eulerian subgraph H of G that contains X and avoids Y. We prove that if G is connected and locally k-edge-connected, then G is (s,t)-supereulerian, for any pair of nonnegative integers s and t with s+tk−1. We further show that if s+tk and G is a connected, locally k-edge-connected graph, then for any disjoint sets X,YE(G) with |X|≤s and |Yt, there is a spanning eulerian subgraph H that contains X and avoids Y, if and only if GY is not contractible to K2 or to K2,l with l odd.  相似文献

A graph G is called T-unique if any other graph having the same Tutte polynomial as G is isomorphic to G. Recently, there has been much interest in determining T-unique graphs and matroids. For example, de Mier and Noy [A. de Mier, M. Noy, On graphs determined by their Tutte polynomials, Graphs Combin. 20 (2004) 105-119; A. de Mier, M. Noy, Tutte uniqueness of line graphs, Discrete Math. 301 (2005) 57-65] showed that wheels, ladders, Möbius ladders, square of cycles, hypercubes, and certain class of line graphs are all T-unique. In this paper, we prove that the twisted wheels are also T-unique.  相似文献

Different partial hypergroupoids are associated with binary relations defined on a set H. In this paper we find sufficient and necessary conditions for these hypergroupoids in order to be reduced hypergroups. Given two binary relations ρ and σ on H we investigate when the hypergroups associated with the relations ρσ, ρσ and ρσ are reduced. We also determine when the cartesian product of two hypergroupoids associated with a binary relation is a reduced hypergroup.  相似文献

Let G be a 2-edge-connected simple graph on n≥13 vertices and A an (additive) abelian group with |A|≥4. In this paper, we prove that if for every uvE(G), max{d(u),d(v)}≥n/4, then either G is A-connected or G can be reduced to one of K2,3,C4 and C5 by repeatedly contracting proper A-connected subgraphs, where Ck is a cycle of length k. We also show that the bound n≥13 is the best possible.  相似文献

For an integer n and a prime p, let . In this paper, we present a construction for vertex-transitive self-complementary k-uniform hypergraphs of order n for each integer n such that for every prime p, where ?=max{k(2),(k−1)(2)}, and consequently we prove that the necessary conditions on the order of vertex-transitive self-complementary uniform hypergraphs of rank k=2? or k=2?+1 due to Potoňick and Šajna are sufficient. In addition, we use Burnside’s characterization of transitive groups of prime degree to characterize the structure of vertex-transitive self-complementary k-hypergraphs which have prime order p in the case where k=2? or k=2?+1 and , and we present an algorithm to generate all of these structures. We obtain a bound on the number of distinct vertex-transitive self-complementary graphs of prime order , up to isomorphism.  相似文献

In this paper we shall study Hardy spaces of analytic functions in a strip S. Our main result is on one hand an intrinsic characterization of the spaces and on the second that polynomials are dense. We also present an orthogonal (in H2(S)) basis of polynomials.  相似文献

We give a decomposition formula for the determinant on the bond scattering matrix of a regular covering of G. Furthermore, we define an L-function of G, and give a determinant expression of it. As a corollary, we express the determinant on the bond scattering matrix of a regular covering of G by means of its L-functions.  相似文献
