We show that there are canonical isomorphisms between Hochschild cohomology spaces , where is the algebra of smooth functions on a manifold M and the space of skew multivector fields over M. This implies that continuous and differential deformation theories of coincide.  相似文献

Using the method of continuous projective resolutions established by Alain Connes, we calculate the continuous Hochschild homology and cohomology groups of the Fréchet algebra of smooth functions on a manifold M. These (co)homology groups are allowed to take values in the Fréchet space E of smooth sections of a vector bundle E over M and in the strong dual E*. Moreover, we show that in the cohomological case the differential and continuous Hochschild cohomologies are naturally isomorphic.  相似文献

The inductive limit of a tower of separable algebras is unchanged, up to isomorphism, by consistent deformations but the inductive limit of a corresponding tower of modules may be nontrivially deformed, thereby quantizing the limit module. In the case of the inductive limit of the complex group algebras of the symmetric groups and their deformations, the Hecke algebras, this quantization preserves properties of the finite case which disappear in the absence of quantization.  相似文献

We formulate and discuss a reduction theorem for Poisson pencils associated with a class of integrable systems, defined on bi-Hamiltonian manifolds, recently studied by Gel'fand and Zakharevich. Given a simple, simply laced, complex Lie algebra corresponding to the Lie group G, let be thesubalgebra generated by the positive roots. In this Letter we construct aBV algebra whose underlying graded commutative algebra is given by the cohomology, with respect to , of the algebra of regular functions on G with values in . We conjecture that describes the algebra of allphysical (i.e., BRST invariant) operators of the noncritical string. In this paper, we are going to discuss the problem whether how we can check the conformality of a Finsler manifold to a Berwald manifold. The method is based on a differential 1-form constructing on the underlying manifold by the help of integral formulas such that its exterior derivative is conformally invariant. If the Finsler manifold is conformal to a Berwald manifold, then the exterior derivative vanishes. This gives the following necessary condition: the differential form is closed and, at least locally, it is exact as the exterior derivative of a scale function for testing the conformality. A necessary and sufficient condition is also given in terms of a distinguished linear connection on the underlying manifold – it is expressed by the help of canonical data. In order to illustrate how we can simplify the process in special cases Randers manifolds are considered with some explicit calculations.  相似文献

Symmetric positive definite (SPD) data have become a hot topic in machine learning. Instead of a linear Euclidean space, SPD data generally lie on a nonlinear Riemannian manifold. To get over the problems caused by the high data dimensionality, dimensionality reduction (DR) is a key subject for SPD data, where bilinear transformation plays a vital role. Because linear operations are not supported in nonlinear spaces such as Riemannian manifolds, directly performing Euclidean DR methods on SPD matrices is inadequate and difficult in complex models and optimization. An SPD data DR method based on Riemannian manifold tangent spaces and global isometry (RMTSISOM-SPDDR) is proposed in this research. The main contributions are listed: (1) Any Riemannian manifold tangent space is a Hilbert space isomorphic to a Euclidean space. Particularly for SPD manifolds, tangent spaces consist of symmetric matrices, which can greatly preserve the form and attributes of original SPD data. For this reason, RMTSISOM-SPDDR transfers the bilinear transformation from manifolds to tangent spaces. (2) By log transformation, original SPD data are mapped to the tangent space at the identity matrix under the affine invariant Riemannian metric (AIRM). In this way, the geodesic distance between original data and the identity matrix is equal to the Euclidean distance between corresponding tangent vector and the origin. (3) The bilinear transformation is further determined by the isometric criterion guaranteeing the geodesic distance on high-dimensional SPD manifold as close as possible to the Euclidean distance in the tangent space of low-dimensional SPD manifold. Then, we use it for the DR of original SPD data. Experiments on five commonly used datasets show that RMTSISOM-SPDDR is superior to five advanced SPD data DR algorithms.  相似文献

The question of the existence and correct form of equations describing Brownian motion on a manifold cannot be answered by mathematics alone, but requires a study of the underlying physics. As in classical mechanics, manifolds enter through the transformation of variables needed to account for the presence of constraints. The constraints are either due to a physical agency that forces the motion to remain on a manifold, or they represent conserved quantities of the equation of motion themselves. Also the Brownian motion is described either by a Smoluchowski diffusion equation or by a Kramers equation. The four cases lead to the following conclusions, (i) Smoluchowski diffusion with a conserved quantity reduces to a diffusion equation on the manifold; (ii) The same is true for diffusion with a physical constraint in three dimensions, but in more dimensions it may happen thatno autonomous equation on the manifold results; (iii) A Kramers equation with a conserved quantity reduces to an equation on the manifold, but in general not of the form of a Kramers equation; (iv) The Kramers equation with a physical constraint reduces to an autonomous Kramers equation on the manifold only for a special shape of that constraint. Throughout, only a certain type of physical constraints has been envisaged, and global questions are ignored. Finally, the customary heuristic construction of a Fokker-Planck equation for a mechanical system on a manifold is demonstrated for the case of Brownian rotation of a rigid body, and its shortcomings are emphasized.  相似文献

Within the framework of local BRST cohomology, we establish that nontrivial conserved n– 2 forms for a spin 2 field on a background corresponding to a solution to Einstein's equation with or without cosmological constant are characterized uniquely by the Killing vector fields of the background. This result is crucial in various applications in gravitation, in particular for the study of consistent interactions of spin 2 fields on curved backgrounds. Quantization of non-Hamiltonian systems (such as damped systems) often gives rise to complex spectra and corresponding resonant states, therefore a standard form calculating Wigner functions cannot lead to static quasiprobability distribution functions. We show that a modified form of the Wigner functions satisfies a *-genvalue equation and can be derived from deformation quantization for such systems.  相似文献

We analyze the blood flow through a tapered artery, assuming the blood to be a second order fluid model. The resulting nonlinear implicit system of partial differential equations is solved by the perturbation method. The expressions for shear stress, velocity, flow rate, wall shear stress and longitudinal impedance are obtained. We study spectral properties of the discrete Laplacian H on the half space Z+ d+1 = Zd× Z+ with a boundary condition (n,-1) = tan( ... n + )(n,0), where [0,1]d. We denote by H0 the Dirichlet Laplacian on Z+ d+1. Whenever is independent over rationals (H) = R. Khoruzenko and Pastur have shown for a set of 's of Lebesgue measure 1, the spectrum of H on R\ (H0) is pure point and that corresponding eigenfunctions decay exponentially.
