A nanocomposite polymer electrolyte consisting of 49% poly(methyl methacrylate)-grafted natural rubber (MG49) as a polymer matrix, lithium tetrafluoroborate (LiBF4) as a dopant salt, and titanium dioxide (TiO2) as an inert ceramic filler was prepared by solution casting technique. The ceramic filler, TiO2, was synthesized in situ by a sol?Cgel process. The ionic conductivity was investigated by alternating current impedance spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to determine the structure of the electrolyte, and its morphology was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The highest conductivity, 1.4?×?10?5 S cm?1 was obtained at 30 wt.% of LiBF4 salt addition with 6 wt.% of TiO2 filler content. Ionic conductivity was found to increase with the increase of salt concentration. The optimum value of conductivity was found at 6 wt.% of TiO2. The XRD analysis revealed that the crystalline phase of the polymer host slightly decreased with the addition of salt and filler. The SEM analysis showed that the smoother the surface of the electrolyte, the higher its conductivity.  相似文献

Organic-inorganic hybrid membranes based on poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) 6.25 wt%/poly(vinylidene fluoride hexa fluoro propylene) [P(VdF-HFP)] 18.75 wt% were prepared by using various concentration of nanosized barium titanate (BaTiO3) filler. Structural characterizations were made by X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, which indicate the inclusion of BaTiO3 in to the polymer matrix. Addition of filler creates an effective route of polymer-filler interface and promotes the ionic conductivity of the membranes. From the ionic conductivity results, 6 wt% of BaTiO3-incorporated composite polymer electrolyte (CPE) showed the highest ionic conductivity (6 × 10?3 Scm?1 at room temperature). It is found that the filler content above 6 wt% rendered the membranes less conducting. Morphological images reveal that the ceramic filler was embedded over the membrane. Thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) of the CPE sample with 6 wt% of the BaTiO3 shows high thermal stability. Electrochemical performance of the composite polymer electrolyte was studied in LiFePO4/CPE/Li coin cell. Charge-discharge cycle has been performed for the film exhibiting higher conductivity. These properties of the nanocomposite electrolyte are suitable for Li-batteries.  相似文献

This paper focus on the effect of nanosize (<50 nm BET) inorganic alumina (Al2O3) filler on the structural, conductivity, and thermal properties of chitosan‐based polymer electrolytes. Films of chitosan and its complexes were prepared using solution‐casting technique. Different amounts of Al2O3 viz., 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, 12, and 15 wt% were added to the highest room temperature conducting sample in the chitosan–salt system, i.e. sample containing 60 wt% chitosan–40 wt% NH4SCN. The conductivity value of the sample is 1.29 × 10?4 S cm?1. On addition of 6 wt% Al2O3 filler the ionic conductivity increased to 5.86 × 10?4 S cm?1. The amide and amino peaks in the spectrum of chitosan at 1636 and 1551 cm?1, respectively, shift to lower wavenumbers on addition of salt. The glass transition temperature Tg for the highest conducting composite is 190°C. The increase in Tg with increase in more than 6 wt% filler content is attributed to the increase in degree of crystallinity as proven from X‐ray diffraction studies. A new plasticized nanocomposite polymer electrolyte based on poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO)-LiTf dispersed with ceramic filler (Al2O3) and plasticized with propylene carbonate (PC), ethylene carbonate (EC), and a mixture of EC and PC (EC+PC) have been studied for their ionic conductivity and thermal properties. The incorporation of plasticizers alone will yield polymer electrolytes with enhanced conductivity but with poor mechanical properties. However, mechanical properties can be improved by incorporating ceramic fillers to the plasticized system. Nanocomposite solid polymer electrolyte films (200–600 μm) were prepared by common solvent-casting method. In present work, we have shown the ionic conductivity can be substantially enhanced by using the combined effect of the plasticizers as well as the inert filler. It was revealed that the incorporating 15 wt.% Al2O3 filler in to PEO: LiTf polymer electrolyte significantly enhanced the ionic conductivity [σ RT (max)?=?7.8?×?10?6 S cm?1]. It was interesting to observe that the addition of PC, EC, and mixture of EC and PC to the PEO: LiTf: 15 wt.% Al2O3 CPE showed further conductivity enhancement. The conductivity enhancement with EC is higher than PC. However, mixture of plasticizer (EC+PC) showed maximum conductivity enhancement in the temperature range interest, giving the value [σ RT (max)?=?1.2?×?10?4 S cm?1]. It is suggested that the addition of PC, EC, or a mixture of EC and PC leads to a lowering of glass transition temperature and increasing the amorphous phase of PEO and the fraction of PEO-Li+ complex, corresponding to conductivity enhancement. Al2O3 filler would contribute to conductivity enhancement by transient hydrogen bonding of migrating ionic species with O–OH groups at the filler grain surface. The differential scanning calorimetry thermograms points towards the decrease of T g , crystallite melting temperature, and melting enthalpy of PEO: LiTf: Al2O3 CPE after introducing plasticizers. The reduction of crystallinity and the increase in the amorphous phase content of the electrolyte, caused by the filler, also contributes to the observed conductivity enhancement.  相似文献

Biodegradable corn starch–lithium perchlorate (LiClO4)-based solid polymer electrolytes with addition of nano-sized fumed silica (SiO2) were prepared by solution casting technique. Ionic conductivity at ambient temperature was measured by AC impedance spectroscopy. Upon addition of nano-sized SiO2, the ionic conductivity at room temperature is increased. The optimum ionic conductivity value obtained was 1.23?×?10?4?S?cm?1 at 4?wt% SiO2. This may be attributed to the low crystallinity of the polymer electrolytes resulting from the dispersed nanosilica particles. Fourier–transform infrared spectroscopy studies confirmed the complexation between corn starch, lithium perchlorate, and silica. The thermal properties of the prepared samples were investigated with differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis. The surface morphology of the polymer electrolytes confirmed the agglomeration of particles after excess dispersion of inorganic filler. This was proven in the scanning electron microscopy studies.  相似文献

In this study, the composite polymer electrolytes (CPEs) were prepared by solution casting technique. The CPEs consisted of PEO/PMMA blend as a host matrix doped with LiClO4. Propylene carbonate (PC) was used as plasticizer and a small amount of imidazolium salt-supported amorphous silica (IS-AS) as a filler was prepared by the sol–gel method. At room temperature, the highest conductivity was obtained for the composition having PEO–PMMA–LiClO4–PC–4wt. % IS-AS with a value of 1.15 × 10?4 S/cm. In particular, the CPE using the IS-AS filler showed a higher conductivity than any other sample (fumed silica, amorphous silica). Studies of differential scanning calorimetry and scanning electron microscopy indicated that the ionic conductivity increase was due to an expansion in the amorphous phase which enhances the flexibility of polymeric chains and the homogeneous structure of CPEs. It was found that the ionic conductivity and interfacial resistance stability of CPEs was significantly improved by the addition of IS-AS. In other words, the resistance stability and maximum ambient ionic conductivity of CPEs containing IS-AS filler were better than CPEs containing any other filler.  相似文献

In the present work, nanofibrous composite polymer electrolytes consist of polyethylene oxide (PEO), ethylene carbonate (EC), propylene carbonate (PC), lithium perchlorate (LiClO4), and titanium dioxide (TiO2) were designed using response surface method (RSM) and synthesized via an electrospinning process. Morphological properties of the as‐prepared electrolytes were studied using SEM. FTIR spectroscopy was conducted to investigate the interaction between the components of the composites. The highest room temperature ionic conductivity of 0.085 mS.cm?1 was obtained with incorporation of 0.175 wt. % TiO2 filler into the plasticized nanofibrous electrolyte by EC. Moreover, the optimum structure was compared with a film polymeric electrolyte prepared using a film casting method. Despite more amorphous structure of the film electrolyte, the nanofibrous electrolyte showed superior ion conductivity possibly due to the highly porous structure of the nanofibrous membranes. Furthermore, the mechanical properties illustrated slight deterioration with incorporation of the TiO2 nanoparticles into the electrospun electrolytes. This investigation indicated the great potential of the electrospun structures as all‐solid‐state polymeric electrolytes applicable in lithium ion batteries.  相似文献

We prepared the polyethylene oxide (PEO)-based composite membrane electrolytes which contained the specialized ionic liquids and the inorganic filler of Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO). Mixtures of ionic liquids and tetragonal inorganic fillers were used as additives to prepare composite electrolytes for an application of all solid-state lithium ion batteries (ASLBs). In order to improve the ionic conductivity of composite membranes, we studied the structural change and the electrochemical behaviors as a function of the amounts of solvated ionic liquids (ILs). The addition effect of solvated ILs showed the higher ionic conductivity such as 10?4 S/cm at 55 °C by reducing the crystalline character of polymer based composite, resulting in the enhanced ion conducting property. The hybrid composite membranes were successfully made in flexible form, and have an excellent thermal and electrochemical stability. Finally, the electrochemical performance of the half-cell was evaluated, and it was confirmed that the ion-conducting characteristics were influenced and controlled by the effect of ILs.  相似文献

A proton-conducting nanocomposite gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) system, [35{(25 poly(methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) + 75 poly(vinylidenefluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF-HFP))?+?xSiO2}?+?65{1 M NH4SCN in ethylene carbonate (EC) + propylene carbonate (PC)}], where x?=?0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12, has been reported. The free standing films of the gel electrolyte are obtained by solution cast technique. Films exhibit an amorphous and porous structure as observed from X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies. Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FTIR) studies indicate ion–filler–polymer interactions in the nanocomposite blend GPE. The room temperature ionic conductivity of the gel electrolyte has been measured with different silica concentrations. The maximum ionic conductivity at room temperature has been observed as 4.3?×?10?3?S?cm?1 with 2 wt.% of SiO2 dispersion. The temperature dependence of ionic conductivity shows a typical Vogel-Tamman-Fulcher (VTF) behavior. The electrochemical potential window of the nanocomposite GPE film has been observed between ?1.6 V and 1.6 V. The optimized composition of the gel electrolyte has been used to fabricate a proton battery with Zn/ZnSO4·7H2O anode and PbO2/V2O5 cathode. The open circuit voltage (OCV) of the battery has been obtained as 1.55 V. The highest energy density of the cell has been obtained as 6.11 Wh?kg?1 for low current drain. The battery shows rechargeability up to 3 cycles and thereafter, its discharge capacity fades away substantially.  相似文献

All-solid-state polymer lithium-ion batteries are ideal choice for the next generation of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries due to their high energy, safety and flexibility. Among all polymer electrolytes, PEO-based polymer electrolytes have attracted extensive attention because they can dissolve various lithium salts. However, the ionic conductivity of pure PEO-based polymer electrolytes is limited due to high crystallinity and poor segment motion. An inorganic filler SiO2 nanospheres and a plasticizer Succinonitrile (SN) are introduced into the PEO matrix to improve the crystallization of PEO, promote the formation of amorphous region, and thus improve the movement of PEO chain segment. Herein, a PEO18−LiTFSI−5 %SiO2−5 %SN composite solid polymer electrolyte (CSPE) was prepared by solution-casting. The high ionic conductivity of the electrolyte was demonstrated at 60 °C up to 3.3×10−4 S cm−1. Meanwhile, the electrochemical performance of LiFePO4/CSPE/Li all-solid-state battery was tested, with discharge capacity of 157.5 mAh g−1 at 0.5 C, and capacity retention rate of 99 % after 100 cycles at 60 °C. This system provides a feasible strategy for the development of efficient all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries.  相似文献

PVDF/PAN/SiO2 polymer electrolyte membranes based on non-woven fabrics were prepared via introducing a chemical reaction into Loeb-Sourirajan (L-S) phase inversion process. It was found that physical properties (porosity, electrolyte uptake and ionic conductivity) and electrochemical properties were obviously improved. A favorable membrane structure with fully connective porous and uniform pore size distribution was obtained. The effects of PVDF/PAN weight ratio on the morphology, crystallinity, porosity, and electrochemical performances of membranes were studied. The optimized PVDF/PAN (70/30 w/w) (designated as Mpc30) polymer electrolyte membrane delivered excellent electrolyte uptake of 246.8 % and the highest ionic conductivity of 3.32 × 10?3 S/cm with electrochemical stability up to 5.0 V (vs. Li/Li+). In terms of cell performance, the Li/Mpc30 polymer electrolyte/LiFePO4 battery exhibited satisfactory electrochemical properties including high discharge capacity of 149 mAh/g at 0.2 C rate and good discharge performance at different current densities. The promising results reported here clearly indicated that PVDF/PAN/SiO2 polymer electrolyte membranes prepared by the combination of phase inversion and chemical reaction method were promising enough to be applied in power lithium ion batteries.  相似文献

The preparation and characterization of blended solid polymer electrolyte 49% poly(methyl methacrylate)-grafted natural rubber (MG49):poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) (30:70) were carried out. The effect of lithium tetrafluoroborate (LiBF4) concentration on the chemical interaction, structure, morphology, and room temperature conductivity of the electrolyte were investigated. The electrolyte samples with various weight percentages (wt.%) of LiBF4 salt were prepared by solution casting technique and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Infrared analysis demonstrated that the interaction between lithium ions and oxygen atoms occurred at symmetrical stretching of carbonyl (C=O) (1,735 cm?1) and asymmetric deformation of (O–CH3) (1,456 cm?1) via the formation of coordinate bond on MMA structure in MG49 and PMMA. The reduction of MMA peaks intensity at the diffraction angle, 2θ of 29.5° and 39.5° was due to the increase in weight percent of LiBF4. The complexation occurred between the salt and polymer host had been confirmed by the XRD analysis. The semi-crystalline phase of polymer host was found to reduce with the increase in salt content and confirmed by XRD analysis. Morphological studies by SEM showed that MG49 blended with PMMA was compatible. The addition of salt into the blend has changed the topological order of the polymer host from dark surface to brighter surface. The SEM analyses supported the enhancement of conductivity with the addition of salt. The conductivity increased drastically from 2.0 to 3.4?×?10?5 S cm?1 with the addition of 25 wt.% of salt. The increase in the conductivity was due to the increasing of the number of charge carriers in the electrolyte. The conductivity obeys Arrhenius equation in higher temperature region from 333 to 373 K with the pre-exponential factor σ o of 1.21?×?10?7 S cm?1 and the activation energy E a of 0.46 eV. The conductivity is not Arrhenian in lower temperature region from 303 to 323 K.  相似文献

A novel combination of dispersed phase polymer nanocomposite electrolyte based on PEO8‐LiClO4+ x wt % nano‐CeO2 has been investigated. A model for ion transport mechanism has been proposed to account for substantial enhancement of its electrical conductivity by ~ 2 orders of magnitude at low volume fraction of the filler reinforcement in the polymer nanocomposite films. The strength of the proposed model is based on unambiguous evidences from FTIR, TEM, and conductivity analysis. The FTIR results provide clear role of nanofiller concentration on ion–ion interaction quantified in terms of the fraction of free anion and ion‐pairs present in the nanocomposite films and its excellent correlation with conductivity versus filler concentration. The presence of asymmetry in the ν4(ClO4?) band observed at 625 cm?1 is attributed to its resolved degeneracy suggesting the presence of both uncoordinated and cation‐coordinated ClO4? anion in the matrix due to ion–ion and ion–filler interactions assisted by Lewis acid–base interaction. The enhancement in conductivity at low concentration is possibly due to direct interaction of nano‐CeO2 with both polymer host and anions resulting in the release of ionic charges. Drastic conductivity reduction at higher concentration is related to charge immobilization because of ion/ion‐pair entrapment by local clusters of filler as evidenced in TEM. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Solid‐state electrolytes have emerged as a promising alternative to existing liquid electrolytes for next generation Li‐ion batteries for better safety and stability. Of various types of solid electrolytes, composite polymer electrolytes exhibit acceptable Li‐ion conductivity due to the interaction between nanofillers and polymer. Nevertheless, the agglomeration of nanofillers at high concentration has been a major obstacle for improving Li‐ion conductivity. In this study, we designed a three‐dimensional (3D) nanostructured hydrogel‐derived Li0.35La0.55TiO3 (LLTO) framework, which was used as a 3D nanofiller for high‐performance composite polymer Li‐ion electrolyte. The systematic percolation study revealed that the pre‐percolating structure of LLTO framework improved Li‐ion conductivity to 8.8×10?5 S cm?1 at room temperature.  相似文献

This study has concerned the development of polymer composite electrolytes based on poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB) reinforced with calcinated Li/titania (CLT) for use as an electrolyte in electrochemical devices. The primary aim of this work was to verify our concept of applying CLT-based fillers in a form of nano-backbone to enhance the performance of a solid electrolyte system. To introduce the network of CLT into the PVB matrix, gelatin was used as a sacrificial polymer matrix for the implementation of in situ sol–gel reactions. The gelatin/Li/titania nanofiber films with various lithium perchlorate (LiClO4) and titanium isopropoxide proportions were initially fabricated via electrospinning, and ionic conductivities of electrospun nanofibers were then examined at 25 °C. In this regard, the highest ionic conductivity of 2.55 × 10−6 S/cm was achieved when 10 wt% and 7.5 wt% loadings of LiClO4 and titania precursor were used, respectively. The nanofiber film was then calcined at 400 °C to remove gelatin, and the obtained CLT film was then re-dispersed in solvated PVB-lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (PVB-LiTFSI) solution before casting to obtain reinforced composite solid electrolyte film. The reinforced composite PVB polymer electrolyte film shows high ionic conductivity of 2.22 × 10−4 S/cm with a wider electrochemical stability window in comparison to the one without nanofillers.

Three‐dimensional hierarchical porous graphene/carbon composite was successfully synthesized from a solution of graphene oxide and a phenolic resin by using a facile and efficient method. The morphology, structure, and surface property of the composite were investigated intensively by a variety of means such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), N2 adsorption, Raman spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). It is found that graphene serves as a scaffold to form a hierarchical pore texture in the composite, resulting in its superhigh surface area of 2034 m2g?1, thin macropore wall, and high conductivity (152 S m?1). As evidenced by electrochemical measurements in both EMImBF4 ionic liquid and KOH electrolyte, the composite exhibits ideal capacitive behavior, high capacitance, and excellent rate performance due to its unique structure. In EMImBF4, the composite has a high energy density of up to 50.1 Wh kg?1 and also possesses quite stable cycling stability at 100 °C, suggesting its promising application in high‐temperature supercapacitors. In KOH electrolyte, the specific capacitance of this composite can reach up to an unprecedented value of 186.5 F g?1, even at a very high current density of 50 A g?1, suggesting its prosperous application in high‐power applications.  相似文献
