Summary Using 1,2-naphthoquinone-1-oxime (HL) as the principal ligand, four mixed-ligand ruthenium oximate complexes - namely [Ru(bipy)2(L)]ClO4, [Ru(pap)2(L)]-ClO4, [Ru(bipy)(L)2] and [Ru(PPh3)2(L)2], where bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine and pap = 2-(phenylazo)pyridine- have been synthesized and characterized. In all these complexes, Ru exists in the +2 state. They are diamagnetic and, in solution, show several intense metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transitions in the vis. region. In MeCN solution, all four complexes show a reversible RuII-RuIII oxidation on the positive side of a standard calomel electrode (s.c.e.), the potential of which varies with the compositions of the complexes. Reductions of the coordinated co-ligands (bipy or pap) are also observed.  相似文献

Summary Reactions of ruthenium carbonyl complexes of the type [RuX2(CO)(Ph2RAs)3] (X=Cl or Br; R=Me or Et) with 2,2-bipyridyl (bipy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) in alcohol produce orange red cationic products of the formula [RuX(CO)(N-N)(Ph2RAs)2]ClO4 (N-N=bipy or phen). Likewise, the hydridocarbonyls of ruthenium and osmium of the type [MHX(CO)(Ph2RAs)3] (M=Ru or Os) react with bipy and phen to yield yellow cationic complexes of the composition [(MH(CO)(N-N)(Ph2RAs)2]ClO4. Structures have been assigned to all the complexes on the basis of i.r. and1 H n.m.r. spectral data.  相似文献

Reaction of 1-(2′-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (Hpan) with [Ru(dmso)4Cl2] (dmso = dimethylsulfoxide), [Ru(trpy)Cl3] (trpy = 2,2′,2″-terpyridine), [Ru(bpy)Cl3] (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine) and [Ru(PPh3)3Cl2] in refluxing ethanol in the presence of a base (NEt3) affords, respectively, the [Ru(pan)2], [Ru(trpy)(pan)]+ (isolated as perchlorate salt), [Ru(bpy)(pan)Cl] and [Ru(PPh3)2(pan)Cl] complexes. Structures of these four complexes have been determined by X-ray crystallography. In each of these complexes, the pan ligand is coordinated to the metal center as a monoanionic tridentate N,N,O-donor. Reaction of the [Ru(bpy)(pan)Cl] complex with pyridine (py) and 4-picoline (pic) in the presence of silver ion has yielded the [Ru(bpy)(pan)(py)]+ and [Ru(bpy)(pan)(pic)]+ complexes (isolated as perchlorate salts), respectively. All the complexes are diamagnetic (low-spin d6, S = 0) and show characteristic 1H NMR signals and intense MLCT transitions in the visible region. Cyclic voltammetry on all the complexes shows a Ru(II)–Ru(III) oxidation on the positive side of SCE. Except in the [Ru(pan)2] complex, a second oxidative response has been observed in the other five complexes. Reductions of the coordinated ligands have also been observed on the negative side of SCE. The [Ru(trpy)(pan)]ClO4, [Ru(bpy)(pan)(py)]ClO4 and [Ru(bpy)(pan)(pic)]ClO4 complexes have been observed to bind to DNA, but they have not been able to cleave super-coiled DNA on UV irradiation.  相似文献

Reaction of 2-(phenylazo)pyridine (pap) with [Ru(PPh3)3X2] (X = Cl, Br) in dichloromethane solution affords [Ru(PPh3)2(pap)X2]. These diamagnetic complexes exhibit a weakdd transition and two intense MLCT transitions in the visible region. In dichloromethane solution they display a one-electron reduction of pap near − 0.90 V vs SCE and a reversible ruthenium(II)-ruthenium(III) oxidation near 0.70 V vs SCE. The [RuIII(PPh3)2(pap)Cl2]+ complex cation, generated by coulometric oxidation of [Ru(PPh3)2(pap)Cl2], shows two intense LMCT transitions in the visible region. It oxidizes N,N-dimethylaniline and [RuII(bpy)2Cl2] (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine) to produce N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylbenzidine and [RuIII(bpy)2Cl2]+ respectively. Reaction of [Ru(PPh3)2(pap)X2] with Ag+ in ethanol produces [Ru(PPh3)2(pap)(EtOH)2]2+ which upon further reaction with L (L = pap, bpy, acetylacetonate ion(acac) and oxalate ion (ox2−)) gives complexes of type [Ru(PPh3)2(pap)(L)]n+ (n = 0, 1, 2). All these diamagnetic complexes show a weakdd transition and several intense MLCT transitions in the visible region. The ruthenium(II)-ruthenium(III) oxidation potential decreases in the order (of L): pap > bpy > acac > ox2−. Reductions of the coordinated pap and bpy are also observed.  相似文献

Dechlorination of M(RaaiR′) n Cl2 by AgNO3 produced [M(RaaiR′) n (MeCN)2]+2 [M = Ru(II), n = 2; Pt(II), n = 1; RaaiR′ = 1-alkyl-2-(arylazo)imidazole)] which upon reaction with the nucleobase cytosine (C) in MeCN solution gave cytosinato bridged dimeric compounds which were isolated as perchlorate salts [M2(RaaiR′) n (C)2](ClO4)2 · H2O. The products were characterized by IR, u.v.–vis., 1H-n.m.r. spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. In MeCN solution the ruthenium complexes exhibit a strong MLCT band at 550–555 nm and two redox couples positive to SCE due to two metal-center oxidation along with ligand reduction, negative to SCE. The platinum complexes show a weak transition at 500–520 nm in MeCN and exhibit only ligand reduction in cyclic voltammetry. The coordination of the ligand was supported by 1H-n.m.r. spectral data.  相似文献

In aqueous solution ruthenium trichloride reacted with picolinic acid (Hpic) in the presence of a base to afford [Ru(pic)3]. In solution it shows intense ligand-to-metal charge transfer transitions near 310 and 370 nm, together with a low-intensity absorption near 2000 nm. [Ru(pic)3] is one-electron paramagnetic and shows a rhombic ESR spectrum in 1:1 dimethylsulphoxide-methanol solution at 77 K. The distortions from octahedral symmetry have been calculated by ESR data analysis. The axial distortion is larger than the rhombic one. In acetonitrile solution it shows a reversible ruthenium(III)-ruthenium(II) reduction at −0.09 V vs. SCE and a reversible ruthenium(III)-ruthenium(IV) oxidation at 1.52 V vs. SCE. Chemical or electrochemical reduction of [RuIII(pic)3] gives [RuII(pic)3], which in solution shows intense MLCT transitions near 360, 410 and 490 nm, and is converted back to [Ru(pic)3] by exposure to air. Reaction of [Ru(pic)3] with 8-quinolinol (HQ) in dimethylsulphoxide solution affords [RuQ3]. [Ru(bpy)(pic)2] (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine) has been prepared by the reaction of Hpic with [Ru(bpy)(acac)2]Cl (acac = acetylacetonate ion) in ethyleneglycol. It is diamagnetic and in solution shows intense MLCT transitions near 370, 410 and 530 nm. In acetonitrile solution it shows a reversible ruthenium(II)-ruthernium(III) oxidation at 0.44 V vs. SCE and a reversible one-electron reduction of bpy at − 1.64V vs. SCE.  相似文献

The perchlorate salt of the dicationic bipy–ruthenium complex cis‐[Ru(6,6′‐Cl2bipy)2(H2O)2]2+ effectively catalyzes addition of β‐diketones to secondary alcohols and styrenes to yield the α‐alkylated β‐diketones. In a catalytic addition reaction of acetylacetone to 1‐phenylethanol, the κ2‐acetylacetonate complex [Ru(6,6′‐Cl2bipy)2(κ2‐acac)]ClO4 was isolated after the catalysis; this complex is readily synthesized by reacting cis‐[Ru(6,6′‐Cl2bipy)2(H2O)2](ClO4)2 with acetylacetone. [Ru(6,6′‐Cl2bipy)2(κ2‐acac)]ClO4 is unreactive toward 1‐phenylethanol in the presence of HClO4; it also fails to catalyze the addition of acetylacetone to 1‐phenylethanol. On the basis of these observations, it is proposed and confirmed by independent experiments that the catalytic addition of β‐diketones to the secondary alcohols is in fact catalyzed by the Brønsted acid HClO4, which is generated by the reaction of cis‐[Ru(6,6′‐Cl2bipy)2(H2O)2](ClO4)2 with the β‐diketone.  相似文献

The results of ab initio quantum-chemical calculations of isolated ruthenium(II) complexes cis- [Ru(bpy)2(bipy)(X)]44q (bpy is 2,2'-bipyridyl, bipy is 4,4'-bipyridyl; X = NH3, Cl-, Br-, CN-, NO- 2, ONO-, MeCN, and NO+) are presented. Analysis of the charge distributions and the orbital structures of the complex ions points to absence of strong -acceptor bonds Ru-bpy, Ru-bipy, and Ru-X (X = NO+), to delocalization of -electron density under the action of strong donors X, to localized nature of lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals, and to special position of the nitrosyl complexes in this series.  相似文献

The first heterodinuclear ruthenium(II) complexes of the 1,6,7,12‐tetraazaperylene (tape) bridging ligand with iron(II), cobalt(II), and nickel(II) were synthesized and characterized. The metal coordination sphere in this complexes is filled by the tetradentate N,N′‐dimethyl‐2,11‐diaza[3.3](2,6)‐pyridinophane (L‐N4Me2) ligand, yielding complexes of the general formula [(L‐N4Me2)Ru(µ‐tape)M(L‐N4Me2)](ClO4)2(PF6)2 with M = Fe {[ 2 ](ClO4)2(PF6)2}, Co {[ 3 ](ClO4)2(PF6)2}, and Ni {[ 4 ](ClO4)2(PF6)2}. Furthermore, the heterodinuclear tape ruthenium(II) complexes with palladium(II)‐ and platinum(II)‐dichloride [(bpy)2Ru(μ‐tape)PdCl2](PF6)2 {[ 5 ](PF6)2} and [(dmbpy)2Ru(μ‐tape)PtCl2](PF6)2 {[ 6 ](PF6)2}, respectively were also prepared. The molecular structures of the complex cations [ 2 ]4+ and [ 4 ]4+ were discussed on the basis of the X‐ray structures of [ 2 ](ClO4)4 · MeCN and [ 4 ](ClO4)4 · MeCN. The electrochemical behavior and the UV/Vis absorption spectra of the heterodinuclear tape ruthenium(II) complexes were explored and compared with the data of the analogous mono‐ and homodinuclear ruthenium(II) complexes of the tape bridging ligand.  相似文献

New compounds [Ru(pap)2(L)](ClO4), [Ru(pap)(L)2], and [Ru(acac)2(L)] (pap=2‐phenylazopyridine, L?=9‐oxidophenalenone, acac?=2,4‐pentanedionate) have been prepared and studied regarding their electron‐transfer behavior, both experimentally and by using DFT calculations. [Ru(pap)2(L)](ClO4) and [Ru(acac)2(L)] were characterized by crystal‐structure analysis. Spectroelectrochemistry (EPR, UV/Vis/NIR), in conjunction with cyclic voltammetry, showed a wide range of about 2 V for the potential of the RuIII/II couple, which was in agreement with the very different characteristics of the strongly π‐accepting pap ligand and the σ‐donating acac? ligand. At the rather high potential of +1.35 V versus SCE, the oxidation of L? into L. could be deduced from the near‐IR absorption of [RuIII(pap)(L.)(L?)]2+. Other intense long‐wavelength transitions, including LMCT (L?→RuIII) and LL/CT (pap.?→L?) processes, were confirmed by TD‐DFT results. DFT calculations and EPR data for the paramagnetic intermediates allowed us to assess the spin densities, which revealed two cases with considerable contributions from L‐radical‐involving forms, that is, [RuIII(pap0)2(L?)]2+?[RuII(pap0)2(L.)]2+ and [RuIII(pap0)(L?)2]+?[RuII(pap0)(L?)(L?)]+. Calculations of electrogenerated complex [RuII(pap.?)(pap0)(L?)] displayed considerable negative spin density (?0.188) at the bridging metal.  相似文献

Reaction of five N,N′-bis(aryl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamides (H2L-R, where H2 denotes the two acidic protons and R (R = OCH3, CH3, H, Cl and NO2) the para substituent in the aryl fragment) with [Ru(trpy)Cl3](trpy = 2,2′,2″-terpyridine) in refluxing ethanol in the presence of a base (NEt3) affords a group of complexes of the type [RuII(trpy)(L-R)], each of which contains an amide ligand coordinated to the metal center as a dianionic tridentate N,N,N-donor along with a terpyridine ligand. Structure of the [RuII(trpy)(L-Cl)] complex has been determined by X-ray crystallography. All the Ru(II) complexes are diamagnetic, and show characteristic 1H NMR signals and intense MLCT transitions in the visible region. Cyclic voltammetry on the [RuII(trpy)(L-R)] complexes shows a Ru(II)–Ru(III) oxidation within 0.16–0.33 V versus SCE. An oxidation of the coordinated amide ligand is also observed within 0.94–1.33 V versus SCE and a reduction of coordinated terpyridine ligand within −1.10 to −1.15 V versus SCE. Constant potential coulometric oxidation of the [RuII(trpy)(L-R)] complexes produces the corresponding [RuIII(trpy)(L-R)]+ complexes, which have been isolated as the perchlorate salts. Structure of the [RuIII(trpy)(L-CH3)]ClO4 complex has been determined by X-ray crystallography. All the Ru(III) complexes are one-electron paramagnetic, and show anisotropic ESR spectra at 77 K and intense LMCT transitions in the visible region. A weak ligand-field band has also been shown by all the [RuIII(trpy)(L-R)]ClO4 complexes near 1600 nm.  相似文献

Polypyridyl ruthenium(II) dicarbonyl complexes with an N,O- and/or N,N-donor ligand, [Ru(pic)(CO)2Cl2] (1), [Ru(bpy)(pic)(CO)2]+ (2), [Ru(pic)2(CO)2] (3), and [Ru(bpy)2(CO)2]2+ (4) (pic=2-pyridylcarboxylato, bpy=2,2′-bipyridine) were prepared for comparison of the electron donor ability of these ligands to the ruthenium center. A carbonyl group of [Ru(L1)(L2)(CO)2]n (L1, L2=bpy, pic) successively reacted with one and two equivalents of OH to form [Ru(L1)(L2)(CO)(C(O)OH)]n−1 and [Ru(L1)(L2)(CO)(CO2)]n−2. These three complexes exist as equilbrium mixtures in aqueous solutions and the equilibrium constants were determined potentiometrically. Electrochemical reduction of 2 in CO2-saturated CH3CN–H2O at −1.5 V selectively produced CO.  相似文献

Three ruthenium(II) polypyridyl complexes [Ru(dmb)2(dadppz)]2+ 1, [Ru(bpy)2(dadppz)]2+ 2 and [Ru(phen)2(dadppz)]2+ 3 were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, ES-MS, 1H NMR and 13C NMR. Their DNA-binding behaviors were investigated by absorption titration, fluorescence spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. Cytotoxicity in vitro, apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, cellular uptake and reactive oxygen species assays were performed. The complexes were found to show moderate DNA-binding affinities and high cytotoxicities toward A549, BEL-7402, MG-63 and SKBR-3 cell lines. These complexes can effectively induce apoptosis of BEL-7402. In cell cycle assays, the complexes induced S-phase arrest on BEL-7402 cells and G0/G1-phase arrest on SKBR-3 cells. The DNA-binding experiments showed that the three complexes interact with CT-DNA through an intercalative mode.  相似文献

Reaction of α-amino acids (HL) with [Ru(PPh3)3Cl2] in the presence of a base afforded a family of complexes of type [Ru(PPh3)2(L)2]. These complexes are diamagnetic (low-spin d6, S=0) and show ligand-field transitions in the visible region. 1H and 31P NMR spectra of the complexes indicate the presence of C2 symmetry. Cyclic voltammetry on the [Ru(PPh3)2(L)2] complexes show a reversible ruthenium(II)–ruthenium(III) oxidation in the range 0.30–0.42 V vs. SCE. An irreversible ruthenium(III)–ruthenium(IV) oxidation is also displayed by two complexes near 1.5 V vs. SCE.  相似文献

Treatment of the trigonal-bipyramidal ruthenium(IV)–thiolate complex, [Ru(SMes)4(MeCN)] (Mes = 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl, 1), with an anhydrous diethyl ether solution of hydrogen chloride in THF afforded [Ru(SMes)3Cl(MeCN)] (2), whereas interaction of 1 with [Et4N]Cl in THF gave an anionic ruthenium(IV)–thiolate complex, [Et4N][Ru(SMes)4Cl] (3). Reaction of 1 with one equivalent of substituted pyridines in dichloromethane gave the corresponding pyridine-coordinated ruthenium(IV)–thiolate complexes, [Ru(SMes)4(R-py)] (R = 4-Et, 4; 4-tBu, 5; 3,5-Me2, 6), while reaction of 1 with 0.5 equiv. of 4,4’-bipy (4,4’-bipy = 4,4’-bipyridine) in dichloromethane resulted in the formation of a dinuclear ruthenium(IV)–thiolate complex [{Ru(SMes)4}2(μ-4,4’-bipy)] (7). Complexes 27 have been spectroscopically characterized along with their electrochemical analyses, and their structures have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Summary Thermal substitution of chloride in Ru(bipy)2Cl2 · 2H2O with diazadienes (dad) RN=CR-CR=NR yields the mixed [(bipy)2Ru(dad)]2+ complexes, which are analogous to the [Ru(bipy)3]22+ cation. Full n.m.r. assignments are given for several complexes; conformational rigidity is displayed by dad-attached phenyl groups in one of them. The u.v. spectra, which show dad-dependent first c.t.-absorption bands, are compared to that of [Ru(bipy)3]2+.Ruthenium Complexes with Diazadienes. Part I.,Transition Met. A family of three mixed-ligand osmium complexes of type [Os(PPh3)2(N-N)Br2], where N-N=2,2′-bipyridine (bpy), 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine (Me2bpy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes are diamagnetic (low-spin d6, S=0) and in dichloromethane solution they show intense MLCT transitions in the visible region. The two bromide ligands have been replaced from the coordination sphere of [Os(PPh3)2(phen)Br2] under mild conditions by a series of anionic ligands L (where L=quinolin-8-olate (q), picolinate (pic), oxalate (Hox) and 1-nitroso-2-naphtholate (nn)) to afford complexes of type [Os(PPh3)2(phen)(L)]+, which have been isolated and characterized as the perchlorate salt. The structure of the [Os(PPh3)2(phen)(pic)]ClO4 complex has been determined by X-ray crystallography. The PPh3 ligands occupy trans positions and the picolinate anion is coordinated to osmium as a bidentate N,O-donor forming a five-membered chelate ring. The [Os(PPh3)2(phen)(L)]+ complexes are diamagnetic and show multiple MLCT transitions in the visible region. The [Os(PPh3)2(N-N)Br2] complexes show an osmium(II)–osmium(III) oxidation (−0.02 to 0.12 V vs. SCE) followed by an osmium(III)–osmium(IV) oxidation (1.31 to 1.43 V vs. SCE). The [Os(PPh3)2(phen)(L)]+ complexes display the osmium (II)–osmium (III) oxidation (0.26 to 0.84 V vs. SCE) and one reduction of phen (−1.50 to −1.79 V vs. SCE). The osmium (III)–osmium (IV) oxidation has been observed only for the L=q and L=Hox complexes at 1.38 V vs. SCE and 1.42 V vs. SCE respectively. The osmium(III) species, viz. [OsIII(PPh3)2(N-N)Br2]+ and [OsIII(PPh3)2(phen)(L)]2+, have been generated both chemically and electrochemically and characterized in solution by electronic spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

New mixed polypyridyl {HPIP = 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, dmb = 4,4-dimethyl-2,2-bipyridine} ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(phen)2(HPIP)]2+, [Ru(dmp)2(HPIP)]2+ and [Ru(dmb)2(HPIP)]2+ were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses 1H-n.m.r., u.v.–vis. spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. Their DNA-binding properties were demonstrated by absorption, luminescence titrations, steady-state emission quenching and viscosity measurements. The results suggested that all the examined complexes bind with CT-DNA intercalatively. Methyl groups substituted at the 4,4-positions of bpy has no obvious effect on its DNA binding, whereas substituents at the 2- and 9-positions of phen have an impressive effect on its DNA-binding, as revealed by the decreased binding affinity.  相似文献

Summary A series of new complexes [RuL2(pdphen)]2+, where pdphen is the planar ligand pyridino[3,2-f] [1,7]phenanthroline and L = 2,2-bipyridine, phenanthroline, 2,9-dimethylphenanthroline or 5-nitrophenanthroline, were prepared and characterized. The binding of [RuL2-(pdphen)] 2+ to calf thymus DNA was investigated using absorption, fluorescence and circular dichroism (c.d.) spectroscopies. All of the complexes show absorption hypochromicity associated with binding to calf thymus DNA. [Ru(bipy)2pdphen]2+ and [Ru(phen)2pdphen]2+ also show fluorescence intensities and excited state life-time increases. The c.d. spectra of dialyzates from solutions of racemic complexes versus calf thymus DNA indicate enantioselectivity associated with binding to DNA.  相似文献

New binuclear complexes with [Cu(PPh3)3]+ and [Cu(PPh3)(N—N)]+ (N—N – 2,2-bipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline) moieties connected via the isocyanide group to [Ru(bpy)2(py)]+ and [Ru(phen)2(py)]+ have been prepared and isolated as PF6 salts. In addition, new trinuclear complexes, [{(PPh3)3Cu(-NC)}2Ru(bpy)2](PF6)2 and [{(N—N)-(PPh3)Cu(-NC)}2Ru(bpy)2](PF6)2, have been synthesized using [Ru(bpy)2(CN)2]. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, i.r., n.m.r., u.v.–vis., FAB mass spectra and by conductivity measurements. The i.r. spectra reveal an increase in v;(CN) in the isocyano-bridged complexes compared to the mononuclear parent complexes. The complexes are luminescent with emission wavelengths in the 458–550 and 600–636 nm ranges. The half wave reduction potentials in MeCN are always more positive than those of the parent complexes. It is observed that the isocyano-bridged complexes are more powerful excited state reductants than the cyano-bridged, Cu(I)(-CN)Ru(II) complexes.  相似文献
