Supercritical carbon dioxide extraction allowed to obtain the volatile oil of different aerial parts of Ridolfia segetum (L.) Moris. Extraction conditions were as follows: pressure, 90 bar; temperature, 50°C and carbon dioxide flow, Φ?=?1.0?kg?h?1. Waxes were entrapped in the first separator set at 90?bar and ?10°C. The oil was recovered in the second separator working at 15?bar and 10°C. The main components of the flower oil were α-phellandrene (19.4%), terpinolene (20.5%), piperitenone oxide (11.6%), β-phellandrene (8.2%), (Z)-β-ocimene (7.8%), myristicin (7.5%) and p-cymene (4.4%). The comparison with the hydrodistilled (HD) oil reveal that the significative difference was the content of sesquiterpenes which are higher in the supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) products. Collection of samples at different extraction times during supercritical extraction, allowed to monitor the change of the oil composition. Lighter compounds, as hydrocarbon monoterpenes, were extracted in shorter times than the heavier hydrocarbon and oxygenated sesquiterpenes. The oil from the steams was characterized by a high content of α-phellandrene (12.9%), terpinolene (11.6%), myristicin (11.0%), p-cymene (9.9%), β-phellandrene (8.2%) and (Z)-β-ocimene (6.0%) while the main components of the fruits were found to be myristicin (70.8%), piperitenone oxide (19.9%) and dill apiole (4.2%).  相似文献

Isolation of volatile concentrate from the dried leaves of Artemisia arborescens and of Helichrysum splendidum has been obtained by supercritical extraction with carbon dioxide. To obtain a pure volatile extract devoid of cuticular waxes, the extraction products were fractionated in two separators operating in series. A good extraction process was obtained operating at 90 bar and 50 degrees C in the extraction vessel, at 90 bar and at -5 degrees C in the first separator and at a pressure between 20 and 15 bar and temperatures in the range 10-20 degrees C in the second one. The composition of the volatile concentrate has been analyzed by GC/MS. The volatile concentrate of A. arborescens was found to contain: trans-thujone (13.96%), camphor (6.15%) and chamazulene (5.95%).The main constituents in the extract of H. splendidum were: germacrene D-4-ol (17.08%), germacrene D (9.04%), bicyclogermacrene (8.79%) and delta-cadinene (8.43%). A comparison with the oils obtained by hydrodistillation is also given. The differences observed between the composition of the SFE volatile concentrates and of the hydrodistilled (HD) oils were relevant. Indeed, the HD oils had a blue color whereas the volatile concentrates were pale yellow. The HD oil of H. splendidum had a blue color due to the presence of guaiazulene (0.42% vs 0%), whereas the coloration of HD oil of A. arborecens was due to the high concentration of chamazulene (26.64% vs 3.37%).  相似文献

Dried and ground leaves of lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus Stapf.) were used as a matrix for supercritical extraction of essential oil with CO(2). The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of pressure on the supercritical extraction. A series of experiments were carried out, for 360 min, at 50 degrees C and at different pressures: 90, 100, 110 and 120 bar. Extraction conditions were chosen to maximize citral content in the extract oil. The collected extracts were analysed by GC-MS and their composition was compared with that of the essential oil isolated by hydrodistillation and by steam distillation. At higher solvent density the extract aspect changes passing from a characteristic yellow essential oil to yellowish semi-solid mass because of the extraction of high molecular mass compounds. The optimum conditions for citral extraction were 90 bar and 50 degrees C, at these conditions citral represent more than 68% of the essential oil and the extraction yield was 0.65% while the yield obtained from hydrodistillation was 0.43% with a content of citral of 73%.  相似文献

In this study, we report the preliminary data on the chemical composition of Yemeni Schinus molle L. volatile oil obtained by supercritical extraction with carbon dioxide (40°C and 90?bar), SFE, and by hydrodistillation (HD). The composition of the volatile oil has been analysed by GC and GC-MS. The content of the major constituents in the oils from leaves varied in the following ranges: germacrene D 3.7% in SFE and 16.7% in HD; β-caryophyllene 19.1% in SFE and 13.5% in HD. The amount of monoterpenes constituted 4%, in all the analysed samples, while the number of sesquiterpenes was 44% in supercritical and 67% in HD oil. Some compounds were not identified by GC-MS and it will require further analysis using other analytical techniques.  相似文献

Abstract

A comprehensive study on essential oil samples extracted from Ridolfia segetum Moris (Apiaceae) collected in Tarquinia (Italy) is reported. In this study, a 30-hour, fractionated, steam distillation procedure for essential oil preparation was applied. The gas chromatographic-mass spectrometry analysis showed monoterpene o-cymene and phenylpropanoid dill-apiol as the major essential oil’s constituents revealing a new chemotype dependent on extraction duration. Great impact of the duration of the distillation process on chemical profile of essential oil was observed; prolonged distillation gives chemically more diverse essential oil samples. Preliminary microbiological evaluations of the essential oils samples revealed some activity, although not high, against Candida albicans.  相似文献

The composition of essential oil extracted from Valeriana officinalis L. roots growing wild in Iran was studied by hydrodistillation and supercritical CO2 extraction. Forty-seven components representing 89.3% and 35 constituents varying from 86.1% to 95.1% of the oil obtained by hydrodistillation and supercritical CO2 were identified, respectively. The major components in the extracted oil from supercritical CO2 were isovaleric acid (18.7-41.8%), valerenic acid (8.2-11.8%), acetoxyvaleranone (5.6-9.6%), (Z)-valernyl acetate (4.5-6.5%), bornyl acetate (2.3-7.7%) and valerenol (3.7-5.2%), whereas by hydrodistillation were bornyl acetate (11.6%), valerenic acid (8.0%), (Z)-valernyl acetate (7.9%) and acetoxyvaleranone (7.6%). The analysis of the extracts was performed by capillary GC and GC/MS.  相似文献

The restriction to the use of synthetic antioxidants has fostered the research on natural antioxidants, taking into account that the prolonged usage of these substances can harm seriously the human being provoking degenerative diseases. In the present study, the antioxidant effect of the ethanolic rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) extract on the oxidative stability of edible vegetable oils was investigated by means of the pressurized differential scanning calorimetry (PDSC) and oven test techniques. The rosemary extract, at the concentration of 2,000 mg kg?1, as well as the synthetic antioxidant tert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) at the concentrations of 100 and 200 mg kg?1 were added to samples of sunflower oil, corn oil, and soybean oil. The fatty acid profiles of the vegetable oils were determined by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry confirming the elevated contents of unsaturated fatty acids. The thermogravimetric analysis showed that the rosemary extract is stable at the frying temperature of the oils. The results of the oxidative stability demonstrated that the extract of Rosmarinus officinalis displayed a more effective protective action in the PDSC technique, when compared with the synthetic antioxidant TBHQ, indicating that it is a promising source of natural antioxidants for edible vegetable oils.  相似文献

The composition of the volatile oil of the common juniper (Juniperus communis L.) from Estonia was analyzed by gas chromatography (GC-FID) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The yield and composition of the oil obtained by different methods (micro-distillation and extraction, SDE, and supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, SFE) from various parts of juniper (berries, needles) were compared. The oil yield ranged from 0.7 to 2.1%. The content of α-pinene of juniper-berry essential oil was 47.9, that of juniper needleoil, 36.4%. The oil yields and composition obtained by SDE and SFE from juniper needles were similar. The oil obtained by SFE from juniper berries contained more sesquiterpenes and high boiling compounds than that obtained by SDE.

Isolation of phenolic diterpene constituents from the freeze-dried leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis has been obtained by supercritical extraction with carbon dioxide. To determine the ideal conditions for the maximum yield of extract, nine different conditions using three levels of pressures (3000, 4000 and 5000 psi) in combination with three temperatures at 40, 60 and 80 degrees C, respectively, in combination with the analyses of the corresponding antioxidant activities and constituents which existed in extracts has been investigated. The antioxidant activity of each obtained extract was determined by using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radicals test. GC/MS method was used as an alternative to conventional HPLC method for the determination of the principal antioxidant constituents in extract, including phenolic diterpenes carnosic acid (CA) and carnosol (CAL). The confirmation of CA and CAL in extract was forward performed by subjecting HPLC isolates from extract into an ion trap mass spectrometer through an electrospray ionization (ESI) interface for MS/MS analysis. These results indicate that an ideal extraction process was obtained at 5000 psi and 80 degrees C with an extraction yield of 4.27% (w/w) and rich in phenolic antioxidants CA and CAL as contents of 35.23 and 0.46 mg g(-1) in extract, respectively.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to optimize total phenolic yield of Arbutus unedo fruits using supercritical fluid extraction. A Box–Behnken statistical design was used to evaluate the effect of various values of pressure (50–300 bar), temperature (30–80°C) and concentration of ethanol as co‐solvent (0–20%) by CO2 flow rate of 15 g/min for 60 min. The most effective variable was co‐solvent ratio (p<0.005). Evaluative criteria for both dependent variables (total phenols and radical scavenging activity) in the model were assigned maximum. Optimum extraction conditions were elicited as 60 bar, 48°C and 19.7% yielding 25.72 mg gallic acid equivalent (GAE) total phenols/g extract and 99.9% radical scavenging capacity, which were higher than the values obtained by conventional water (24.89 mg/g; 83.8%) and ethanol (15.12 mg/g; 95.8%) extractions demonstrating challenges as a green separation process with improved product properties for industrial applications.  相似文献

This paper attempts to demonstrate empirically the possibility of using a hydrophobic extract of hop cone obtained under the conditions of supercritical carbon dioxide to produce all-purpose cleaner with antimicrobial activity and low irritant potential. A series of prototypes of products varied by the extract concentration was developed. The formulations were assessed for physicochemical properties: particle size, turbidity, and color. The results indicate that the hydrophobic extracts of hop cone can be a valuable component of chemical products intended for washing, having a broad spectrum of action and contributing to improvement of the product’s safety.  相似文献

Abstract

Volatile oil composition of leaves and fruits of Terminalia arjuna (Roxb.) was reported for the first time. Oils were extracted by microwave assisted hydrodistillation where yield of both oils were found to be 0.20% and their GC-MS analyses led to the identification of 65 and 48 constituents, respectively. Major constituents of leaves were carvacrol (11.17%), thymol (6.52%), α-terpinyl acetate (5.92%) and anethole (5.13%) while that of fruits were (E)-isoeugenol (11.48%), furfural (8.25%), p-vinylguaiacol (6.8%) and p-ethylguaiacol (5.72%) that demonstrated a significant difference between composition of its aerial parts, however, 33 constituents were identical that showed similarity characteristics in quality of these oils. Both leaf and fruit oils were found active against pathogenic and drug-resistant microbes: E. coli, Methicillin-resistant S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, Total-drug-resistant P. aeruginosa and K. pneumoniae with MIC values of 0.32, 0.32, 0.64, 0.64, 2.56?mg/mL and 0.16, 0.16, 0.32, 0.64, 1.28?mg/mL, respectively.  相似文献

The applicability of supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) as a solvent instead of organics has already been demonstrated for the impregnation of biopolymers with pharmaceuticals. This specific process enables the dispersion of a drug in a polymer and leads to further control of drug release. In this work, scCO2 technology was employed to impregnate triflusal active agent and its hydrolysis metabolite 4-(trifluoromethyl) salicylic acid (HTB) into PMMA bars. Confocal Raman spectroscopy and high-pressure liquid chromatography were the main analysis techniques employed to characterize the degree of dispersion of the drug inside of the polymer. In the Raman analysis, obtained spectra were decomposed with several Gaussians functions. Hence, by using the decomposition of each spectrum it was possible to study the evolution of the concentration of the drug and its metabolite in hundreds of different positions along the radius of the polymer bar. Raman spectroscopy was also used to detect water in the PMMA matrix and to analyze its influence in the formation of the HTB. Finally, spectroscopic analysis showed that scCO2 impregnation process resulted in triflusal and its metabolite being molecularly dispersed in the polymer matrix. Drug molecules interaction with PMMA chains was detected for the metabolite HTB, but not for triflusal.  相似文献

The present study deals with the determination of optimal values of operating parameters such as temperature and pressure leading to the best yield of a supercritical CO2 extraction of essential oil from local rosemary plants, using the response surface methodology (RSM). The maximum of essential oil recovery percentage relative to the initial mass of leaf powder was 3.52 wt%, and was obtained at 313 K and 22 MPa.A second-order polynomial was used to express the oil recovery and the calculated mass of recovered oil using the RSM was very close to the experimental value, confirming the reliability of this technique. The chemical composition of the Algerian rosemary oil under the obtained optimal conditions (313 K and 22 MPa), determined by GC–MS analysis, revealed the presence of camphor (major compound) (52.12%), 1,8-cineole (9.65%), camphene (7.55%), α-pinene (6.05%), borneol (3.52%), aroma dendrene (2.11%), verbenone (1.97%), α-caryophyllene (1.71%), and others.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to study the solubility in supercritical CO2 of the hydrated phase of three model drugs, namely theophylline, carbamazepine, and diclofenac sodium, in comparison with the respective anhydrous form. Possible solid-state modifications, stemming from the interaction with supercritical CO2, were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, hot stage microscopy, Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy and Karl-Fischer titrimetry. It was found that all three pharmaceutical hydrates exhibited higher solubility in supercritical CO2 than the relevant anhydrous phases. In the case of theophylline monohydrate, the instability of the crystal phase at the experimental temperature adopted has been evidenced. Diclofenac sodium tetrahydrate represents a peculiar case of chemical interaction with the acid supercritical fluid, mediated by crystal water. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献
