The polarization states of 〈111〉-cut Yb:YAG crystal microchip lasers were investigated by pumped with the elliptically polarized pump beam from fiber-coupled laser-diode. The manipulated polarized lasers were achieved in laser-diode pumped Yb:YAG microchip laser by controlling the crystalline-orientations in 〈111〉-growth Yb:YAG crystal. Generally elliptically polarized lasers were obtained in laser-diode pumped Yb:YAG microchip lasers. However, crystalline-orientation manipulated linearly polarized laser was obtained when six different sites with different crystalline orientations were set to parallel to the major axis direction of the elliptically polarized pump beam. Six different sites in Yb:YAG crystal were separated with 30° and 90°, which were responsible for the linearly polarized laser oscillations. Circularly polarized lasers were observed when a Yb:YAG crystal was aligned to a special position between two sites responsible for linearly polarized laser oscillation. Effects of the polarization states of pump source on the laser polarization states of Yb:YAG microchip lasers and polarization direction of different polarized lasers with respect to Yb:YAG crystal rotation was addressed.  相似文献

The polarization dependence of a probe beam for use in measuring thermally induced birefringence effects in a laser-diode end-pumped Nd:YAG ceramic laser has been investigated. The variation in intensity of the probe beam was found to be 10.2% for a linearly polarized probe beam, 20.6% for a circularly polarized probe beam, and 31.4% for a circularly polarized probe beam using a half-wave plate with a pump power of 12 W. The angle between the analyzer and the inclination of the major axis of the elliptical polarization with respect to the x axis was controlled using a half-wave plate. By combining a half-wave plate with a circularly polarized probe beam, the variation in intensity increased compared with conventional methods.  相似文献

以单束正交线偏振光为光源,利用角向偏振显示器,采用CCD摄像机进行图像采集,利用Matlab软件进行图像处理,设计了一种由He-Ne激光器、角向偏振显示器组成的偏振光偏振方向显示系统,并研究了其角度特性.实验结果表明:系统在起偏器的起偏角分别为0°、90°、180°、270°、360°时,角向偏振显示器偏振显示角度的测量准确度分别为0.480°、0.168°、0.528°、0.421°、0.340°,测量精确度分别为0.208°、0.576°、0.660°、0.603°、0.466°,测量数据拟合曲线的线性相关系数为0.999.结合1/4波片,检偏器和分光比为50:50的分束器,构建了椭圆偏振光测量系统,完成了椭圆偏振光测量实验,椭圆率为0.198.  相似文献

本文介绍了一种衍射光学器件光线追迹的方法,并给出了计算公式。作为验证,在实验室里制作了具有连续相位的体全息器件,将其实际再现光斑与计算点列图进行比较。构造透射体全息片的物光为离轴的球面波,始于轴外点A(0,132sin8°,-132cos8°),参考光为平面光束,其与Z轴夹角为17°。激光器采用氩离子激光器(Spectra-physicsModel2020),波长488nm;干板感光胶为重铬酸明胶(DCG),胶层厚为15μm;通光口径30nm。测试时把全息片放在干板的位置。挡住物光,让再现光以和参考光路相同的路径平行入射到全息片上,在全息片后垂直光轴放置毛玻璃片,平行光轴移动毛玻璃片,可观察到-1级衍射光的变化。在距离原点的距离分别为(a)40mm,(b)70mm,(c)87mm,(d)95mm的地方用CCD拍摄了衍射光的形状,与程序计算的点列图在形状和大小上都吻合  相似文献

报道了双折射双频激光器输出光偏振特性的实验研究,实验发现双折射双频激光器两端输出的线偏振光的偏振方向并不一致,而相互有一定的旋转角度,实验也再次证明了激光器输出的是正交线偏振光,而不是晶体本征模的椭圆化了的偏振光。  相似文献

The depolarization and rotation of the polarization plane of radiation propagating in a two-dimensional graded-index medium is investigated on the basis of the quantum-mechanical method of coherent states. It is shown that the degree of polarization of both linearly and circularly polarized radiation decreases with increasing distance as a result of interaction between the polarization (spin) and the path (orbital angular momentum) of the beam. The wave nature of the depolarization is emphasized. The depolarization decreases as the radiation wavelength decreases. It is found that the degree of polarization exhibits oscillations of pure diffraction origin during the propagation of light in a single-mode optical fiber. It is shown that the rotation of the polarization plane is nonuniform in character and depends on the offset and the tilt angle of the incident-beam axis relative to the fiber axis. The Berry phase is found to undergo oscillations of a wave nature during the propagation of radiation in an inhomogeneous medium. It is shown that the spread in the angle of rotation of the polarization plane increases with distance and can be determined from measurements of the degree of polarization of the radiation. The results of experiments on observation of rotation of the plane of polarization of coherent laser radiation with wavelength λ = 0.632991 μm after propagation through a rotating optical disk made of TF3 glass with refractive index n = 1.71250 are analyzed. The experiments were conducted at angle of ray incidence on the flat disk surface ?0 = 60°, and the rotational speed of the disk was varied from 0 to 200 Hz in both directions. The results indicate that rotation of optically transparent, homogeneous, and isotropic dielectric causes rotation of linear polarization of the monochromatic electromagnetic plane wave by several tens of degrees. At a rotational speed of 3 Hz, the rotation of polarization reached Δφ = 70° for the vertical component of laser output polarization. The dependences of the angle of rotation of polarization and the degree of polarization of the rays on rotational speed are nonlinear and are attributed to the appearance of substantial anisotropic properties in a rotating dielectric.  相似文献

We have observed non-linear rotation of the plane of polarization of a linearly polarized light beam in GaAs crystals (43m). The effect has been investigated by means of YAG : Nd3- laser and pulse polarimeter with accuracy to non-linear rotation angle 0.02°. Two mechanisms caused by the non-linearity of the spatial dispersion and the anisotropy of two-photon's absorption have been distinguished and corresponding susceptibilities have been calculated.  相似文献

The motion equation for ? between the molecular axis and laser polarization direction in a high-frequency off-resonance femtosecond laser field is deduced while simultaneously examining the effects of a permanent dipole moment and field-induced polarizability and hyperpolarizability to molecular rotation. Femtosecond-laser-induced dynamic alignment of CO, N2, and Br2 molecules are investigated by numerically solving the obtained rotation equation for the angle ?. The effects of the molecular permanent dipole moment and the field-induced polarizability and hyperpolarizability on the degree of alignment are presented at different intensities. Our computational results show that the dynamic alignment of molecules is primarily determined by field-induced polarizability and the second hyperpolarizability for the laser intensity range from 5 × 1014 to 5 × 1016 W/cm2. The contributions of higher order correction terms to molecular alignment can usually be neglected. The polarizability-field interaction makes the angular distributions of a molecule have a maximum along the polarization axis and a minimum perpendicular to it. The role of the second hyperpolarizability keeps the molecular counts maximum along the laser polarization direction but minimum at an angle of 45° between the molecular axis and the polarization direction. There is also a second maximum of molecular counts perpendicular to the polarization axis. For CO, N2, and Br2 molecules, the dependences of laser-induced dynamic alignment on laser intensity exhibit completely different characteristics.  相似文献

 研究了同心分区偏振偏转相位板对径向偏振光梯度力的调制效应。给出了相位板各部分偏振偏转角不同时,光学梯度力的分布情况。模拟结果表明:随着同心分区相位板各部分的半径和偏振旋转角的改变,光学梯度力方向及大小明显变化,且会产生许多可控的梯度力分布模式,可应用于微粒的收集、分离和合并。结果显示同心分区相位板对径向偏振光的调制可以用来生成可调光镊。  相似文献

为了避免机载光电吊舱中共口径光学系统内部由于道威棱镜旋转引起的激光照射脉冲偏振态的变化,利用琼斯矩阵对道威棱镜的偏振特性与四分之一波片、半波片补偿道威棱镜旋转引起的激光脉冲偏振态变化进行了理论分析和实验验证。结果表明:线偏振的激光脉冲通过旋转一定角度的道威棱镜时,激光脉冲偏振态变为椭圆偏振,偏振态发生变化;而激光脉冲首先通过旋转一定角度的四分之一波片与半波片时,可使通过道威棱镜系统的激光脉冲偏振态保持不变,且两波片旋转角度与道威棱镜旋转角度之间存在一种非线性关系。采用偏振补偿方法可有效避免机载共口径光学系统中道威棱镜引起的激光脉冲偏振态变化,提高激光脉冲能量利用率,降低激光脉冲后向散射抑制难度。  相似文献

Polarization-dependent spatial beam profiles of femtosecond X-ray pulses generated by a laser Compton scheme were measured. The X-ray pulses were generated by the interaction at an angle of 90° between 100-fs laser light and a 3-ps, 3π-mm mrad electron beam. The polarization of the laser light was linear in two different directions, either parallel or perpendicular to the electron beam axis.  通过两块楔镜补充衰减和中性衰减片相结合的能量衰减方法,测得了功率密度为20 W/mm2 COIL的偏振态。采用角反射器作为稳定腔折返装置,提高了激光能量分布的均匀性。激光光束分别以45°的入射角入射到两块楔镜上,被楔镜反射后,垂直通过中性衰减片,最后进入偏振态测试仪。实验结果表明:在腔内没有任何偏振选择器件和不加外部电磁场的情况下,采用折叠式稳定腔的横流双模块氧碘化学激光光束呈现部分偏振性质,而且在出光过程中偏振度逐渐降低。  相似文献

When a linear, polarized laser beam is passed through an acousto-optic device, the polarization direction of the outgoing beam is often different from that of the entering beam, and thus a rotation of the polarization angle takes place. This paper shows how the polarization rotation and the intensity can be calculated for different polarization angles. Experimental results obtained with a single crystal germanium frequency shifter in the 10.6 μm region agreed well with theory.  相似文献

When a polarized polychromatic beam passes through a birefringent medium, the constituent spectral components suffer different change of state of polarization. As a result when the beam passes through an analyzer, the intensity of the resultant beam changes depending on the orientation of the analyzer, state of polarization of the input beam, spectral and spatial intensity distribution of the source and the polarizing properties of the birefringent medium. In the present study the intensity variation of the resulting beam passing through a quarter-wave retarder plate is observed theoretically with the variation of the azimuthal angle of the analyzer for monochromatic and polychromatic source of light. A simple experiment is conducted to observe the intensity variation for an incandescent lamp and HeNe laser as polychromatic and monochromatic source of light passing through a birefringent polymer-based quarter-wave retarder plate. The experimentally obtained values are compared with theoretical values and a good agreement is observed.  相似文献

Upon scattering of laser radiation at different wavelengths, three optical effects—rotation of the plane of polarization of linearly polarized light, dependence of the specific rotation on the radiation wavelength, and the dependence of the scattered light intensity on the angle between the scattered and incident beams—are simultaneously observed. The intensity distributions of the scattered laser light at 0.488, 0.531 nm, and 0.633 μm along the optical axis of a thick sample of a TeO2 single crystal are visualized. Based on the patterns obtained, the values of the specific rotation are calculated, and the curve of the optical rotation for the visible range is obtained.  相似文献

在磁光玻璃裸光纤偏振特性研究的基础上,研制磁光玻璃光纤,偏振特性及其在全光纤电流传感器中的应用。将采用模管法拉制成的磁光玻璃光纤置于亥姆霍兹线圈产生的磁场中,当线偏振光通过该光纤时,其偏振面旋转一定角度,把该角度转换成光信号的强度,然后再用仪器进行检测。通过对线偏振光偏振面在磁场中的偏振特性的测试与实验,提出用磁光玻璃光纤构成的全光纤电流传感器,可用于电流和磁场测试。  相似文献
