The luminescence properties of CaTiO(3) both singly and doubly doped with Bi(3+) and Pr(3+) have been measured in different experimental conditions in order to investigate the de-excitation processes active in these materials and in particular to understand the mechanism responsible for the significant increment of the red emission observed in the codoped system upon near-ultraviolet (NUV) excitation. The steady state spectra and the decay profiles have been analyzed in the light of the possible interactions between active ions and host lattice. The general model applied to the analysis of the temporal profiles of the emission allows us to assess which are the main mechanisms involved in the Bi(3+) → Pr(3+) sensitization process. 相似文献

A novel Tm^3+/Yb^3+ triply-doped glass ceramics containing BaF2 nano-crystals are successfully prepared. Fluoride nanocrystals BaF2 are successfully precipitated in glass matrix, which is affirmed by the X-ray diffraction results. The intense blue (476 nm), green (543 nm), and red (656 nm) emissions of the glass ceramics are simultaneously observed at room temperature under 980-am excitation, and the emission luminescence intensity increases significantly compared with the precursor glass, which is attributed to the low phonon energy of fluoride nanocrystals when rare-earth ions are incorporated into the precipitated BaF2 nanocrystals. Under 980-nm excitation at 400 mW, the international commission on illumination (CIE) chromaticity coordinate (X = 0.278, Y = 0.358) of the tridoped oxyfluoride glass ceramics' upconversion emissions is close to the standard white-light illumination (X = 0.333, Y= 0.333). The results indicate that Tm^3+/Yb^3+ triply doped glass ceramics can act as suitable materials for potential three-dimensional displays applications. 相似文献

<正>Optically transparent Er~(3+)/Tm~(3+)/Yb~(3+) tri-doped oxyfluoride tellurite based nano-crystallized glass ceramics with the batching composition of 73TeO_2-15ZnO-7ZnF_2-3YF3-1.5YbF3-0.3ErF3-0.2TmF_3(mol%) is prepared by a conventional melting quenching and the subsequent heat treatment processes.The sizes of grown nano-crystals in glass matrix appear to be smaller than 100 nm from the scanning electron microscope measurement.Visible up-conversion luminescence of the as melted glass and glass ceramics is investigated.The three-color up-conversion luminescence intensities by 980-nm pumping are increased significantly due to the heat treatment,and the blue intensity increases with a higher magnitude than other wavelengths after heat treatment. 相似文献

Continuous-wave and Q-switched lasing from a Tm(3+)/Ho(3+) codoped tellurite fiber is reported. An Yb(3+)/Er(3+)-doped silica fiber laser operating at 1.6 microm was used as an in-band pump source, exciting the Tm(3+) ions into the (3)F(4) level. Energy is then nonradiatively transferred to the upper laser level, the (5)I(7) state of Ho(3+). The laser transition is from the (5)I(7) level to the (5)I(8) level, and the resulting emission is at 2.1 microm. For continuous wave operation, the slope efficiency was 62% and the threshold 0.1 W; the maximum output demonstrated was 0.16 W. Mechanical Q switching resulted in a pulse of 0.65 microJ energy and 160 ns duration at a repetition rate of 19.4 kHz. 相似文献

The LaMn1-xTexO3+δ (x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3) were synthesized using solid-state reaction method for the first time. X-ray photoemission spectrum (XPS) shows that in the samples the Te ions have a valence of Te4+, and Mn3+ ions are partly converted into Mn2+ and Mn4+ due to the excess oxygen and Te doping. The magnetotransport associated with Mn2+, Mn3+ and Mn4+ was investigated. The pseudopotential method has been used to investigate the structural, electronic and magnetic properties of La_(1-x)Eu_xGaO_3(x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and 1) within the scheme of generalized gradient approximation. The spin-polarized calculations demonstrate that the ground state is an antiferromagnetic insulator for x ≤ 0.5, while it is ferromagnetic halfmetal at x 0.5. The substitutions of magnetic Eu ions for non-magnetic La ions produce and strength spin polarization,which forcefully urges the system from the insulator to the half metal. Meanwhile, Eu doping strengthens a stoner mechanism for ferromagnetism of La_(1-x)Eu_xGaO_3(x = 0.75 and 1), which may lead to a rapid increasing in the total magnetic moment and therefore, antiferromagnetic–ferromagnetic transition happens. 相似文献

HfMgMo_(3-x)W_xO_(12) with x = 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 are developed with a simple solid state method. With increasing the content of W, solid solutions of Hf Mg Mo3-xWx O12 crystallize in an orthorhombic structure for x≤2.0 and a monoclinic structure for x2.0. A near-zero thermal expansion(ZTE) is realized for HfMgMo_(2.5)W_(0.5)O_(12) and negative coefficients of thermal expansion(NCTE) are achieved for other compositions with different values. The ZTE and variation of NCTE are attributed to the difference in electronegativity between W and Mo and incorporation of a different amount of W, which cause variable distortion of the octahedra and softening of the MoO_4 tetrahedra, and hence an enhanced NCTE in the a- and c-axis and reduced CTE in the b-axis as revealed by Raman spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction. 相似文献

We present evidence that the insulator-to-metal transition in La(1-x)Ca(x)MnO3 near x approximately 0.2 is driven by the suppression of coherent Jahn-Teller distortions, originating from d-type orbital ordering. The orbital-ordered state is characterized by large long-range Q2 distortions below T(O'- O*). Above T(O'- O*) we find evidence for coexistence between an orbital-ordered and an orbital-disordered state. This behavior is discussed in terms of electronic phase separation in an orbital-ordered insulating and an orbital-disordered metallic state. 相似文献

The piezoelectric properties of K1-xNaxNbO3 are studied by using first-principles calculations within virtual crystal approximation. To understand the critical factors for the high piezoelectric response in K1-x Na x Nb O3, the total energy,piezoelectric coefficient, elastic property, density of state, Born effective charge, and energy barrier on polarization rotation paths are systematically investigated. The morphotropic phase boundary in K1-x Na x Nb O3 is predicted to occur at x = 0.521, which is in good agreement with the available experimental data. At the morphotropic phase boundary, the longitudinal piezoelectric coefficient d33 of orthorhombic K0.5Na0.5NbO3 reaches a maximum value. The rotated maximum of d*33is found to be along the 50° direction away from the spontaneous polarization(close to the [001] direction). The moderate bulk and shear modulus are conducive to improving the piezoelectric response. By analyzing the energy barrier on polarization rotation paths, it is found that the polarization rotation of orthorhombic K0.5Na0.5NbO3 becomes easier compared with orthorhombic KNbO3, which proves that the high piezoelectric response is attributed to the flattening of the free energy at compositions close to the morphotropic phase boundary. 相似文献

We report an optical spectroscopy study on intermediate valence system Yb_(1-x)Lu_xAl_3 with x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and 1. The Kondo temperature in the system is known to increase with increasing Lu concentration. Therefore, it is expected that the energy scale of the hybridization gap should increase with increasing Lu concentration based on the periodic Anderson model. On the contrary, we find that the spectral structure associated with the hybridization effect shifts monotonically to lower energy. Furthermore, the Lu substitution results in a substantial increase of the free carrier spectral weight and less pronounced plasma frequency reduction upon lowering temperature. We attribute the effect to the disruption of the Kondo lattice periodicity by the random substitution of Yb by Lu. The work highlights the importance of the lattice periodicity of the rare earth element for understanding the Kondo lattice phenomena. 相似文献

A nonlinear optical crystal YCa(4)O(BO(3))(3) (YCOB) is phase matchable for third-harmonic generation (THG) of a Nd:YAG laser by type I mixing between 1.064 and 0.532mum . By partial substitution of Gd for Y in YCOB, a solid solution Gd(x)Y(1-x)Ca(4)O(BO(3))(3) gradually changes the phase-matching angles of THG to (theta, ?)=(90( degrees ), 90 ( degrees )) . We present the properties of noncritically phase-matched THG in Gd(x) Y(1-x)Ca(4)O(BO(3))(3) (x=0.28) . 相似文献
