The radical polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) was conducted under a carbon dioxide atmosphere (1 atm) in the presence of catalysts for the reaction of carbon dioxide and the oxirane group to afford the five‐membered cyclic carbonate group. The degrees of the carbon dioxide fixation depended on catalysts, concentration, and solvents. In solution reaction, the slower polymerizations resulted in faster carbon dioxide fixation, due to the faster carbon dioxide fixation to GMA than to oxirane moieties in polymers. When the polymerization was conducted in 1,4‐dioxane, which is a good solvent for polyGMA but a poor solvent for the analogous polymer bearing cyclic carbonate moieties, the resulting polymers were precipitated out as the progress of the polymerization and the carbon dioxide fixation. As a result, polymers could be isolated by simple filtration and rinsing with methanol. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 47: 3170–3176, 2009  相似文献

Carbon dioxide was incorporated into poly(glycidyl methacrylate‐co‐methyl methacrylate) by a solid‐phase reaction, which transformed the pendent oxirane moieties into cyclic carbonate moieties, with quaternary ammonium halide catalysts. The incorporation of carbon dioxide into the copolymer led to soluble carbonate‐containing polymers, whereas the incorporation of carbon dioxide into the glycidyl methacrylate homopolymer produced an insoluble product. The copolymer composition, reaction temperature, and catalyst amount affected the incorporation efficiency and the side reaction that caused crosslinking. Effective incorporation was achieved under the following reaction conditions: the glycidyl methacrylate content was less than approximately 50%, the temperature was greater than the glass‐transition temperature, and the catalyst concentration was 1.5–6 mol %. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The addition reaction of oxiranes ( 26a—e ) with carbon dioxide (CO2) was performed using insoluble polystyrene beads containing pendant quaternary ammonium or phosphonium salts as catalysts under atmospheric pressure. The reaction of 26a—e with CO2 proceeded smoothly catalyzed by 1–2 mol % of the polymer-supported quaternary onium salts to give the corresponding cyclic carbonates ( 27a—e ) in high yields at 80–90°C. In this reaction system, the catalytic activity of the polymer-supported quaternary onium salts was strongly affected by the following factors: degree of ring substitution (DRS) of the onium salt residues to the polymer, degree of crosslinking (DC) of the polystyrene beads, chain length of the alkylene spacer between the polymer back-bone and the onium salt, hydrophobicity of the alkyl group on the onium salts, and kind of onium salts. That is, the polymer-supported quaternary phosphonium salts with low DRS and DC and with long alkylene spacer chain were found to have higher catalytic activity than low molecualr weight quaternary onium salts. The above polymer-supported catalysts can easily be separated at the end of a reaction by filtration and can be reused for at least seven runs. It was also found that the rate of reaction was proportional to the products of catalyst concentration and oxirane concentration. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The trifunctional five‐membered cyclic carbonate 2 and dithiocarbonate 3 were successfully synthesized by the reaction of trifunctional epoxide 1 with carbon dioxide and carbon disulfide, respectively. The crosslinking reactions of 2 with p‐xylylenediamine or hexamethylenediamine were carried out in dimethyl sulfoxide at 100 °C for 48 h to produce the corresponding crosslinked poly(hydroxyurethane)s quantitatively. The crosslinking reactions of 3 with both p‐xylylenediamine and hexamethylenediamine, followed by acetylation of thiol moiety, produced the corresponding crosslinked poly(thioester–thiourethane)s quantitatively. The obtained crosslinked poly(hydroxyurethane)s were thermally more stable than the analogous crosslinked poly(thioester–thiourethane)s, probably because of less thermal stability of thiourethane moiety than hydroxyurethane moiety. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Summary The dehydrogenation of isobutane to isobutene in the presence of carbon dioxide was carried out over supported vanadium oxide catalysts. The influence of the support on the catalytic performance was investigated. The isobutane conversion and isobutene selectivity in the presence of carbon dioxide were compared with the results obtained during the dehydrogenation reaction in the presence of helium (inert gas). The catalysts were characterized by temperature-programmed techniques (TPR, TPD-NH3, TPD-CO2).  相似文献

In this paper, three kinds of MgO with different specific surface area were prepared, and their effects on the catalytic performance of nickel catalysts for the carbon dioxide reforming of methane were investigated. The results showed that MgO support with the higher specific surface area led to the higher dispersion of the active metal, which resulted in the higher initial activity. On the other hand, the specific surface area of MgO materials might not be the dominant factor for the basicity of support to chemisorb and activate CO2, which was another important factor for the performance of catalysts. Herein, Ni/MgO(CA) catalyst with proper specific surface area and strong ability to activate CO2 exhibited stable catalytic property and the carbon species deposited on the Ni/MgO(CA) catalyst after 10 h of reaction at 650 °C were mainly activated carbon species.  相似文献

A series of new metallosalen‐based bifunctional catalysts with Co(III), Cr(III), Fe(III), Mn(III), and Ni(III) were synthesized for the first time, and a detailed study on the mechanism of the copolymerization of CO2 and propylene oxide (PO) was performed. Meanwhile, the impact factors of the reaction conditions (metal cations, temperature, CO2 pressure, and reaction time) on catalytic activity and selectivity were investigated. The results indicated that, with the increase of temperature, both the catalyst efficiency and the molecular weight of the copolymer decrease for all the five complexes. The salen‐Co(III) complex demonstrated higher activity under mild conditions: reaction temperature at 30 °C, copolymerization time of 24 hr, and 2 MPa of CO2 pressure. The DSC curve indicated that the PPC by the salen‐Co(III) complex has the highest Tg of 46.19 °C. DTGA curves demonstrated that there were two thermal degradation peaks: the first is for the ester bond, and the second is for the C C bond.  相似文献

Hydroiodides of secondary and primary amines effectively catalyzed the reaction of carbon dioxide and epoxides under mild conditions such as ordinary pressure and ambient temperature, to obtain the corresponding five‐membered cyclic carbonates in moderate to high yields. Detailed investigation showed that the catalytic activity was highly affected by the counter anions of the ammonium salts; the iodides catalyzed efficiently the carbonate‐forming reactions, whereas the bromide and chloride counterparts exhibited almost no catalysis. We also revealed that two important factors on the amine moieties that affected the catalytic reactions. First, the catalytic activity increased with increasing bulkiness of the substituents on the ammonium nitrogen atoms. Second, the catalysis became more efficient as the parent amines become more basic. Dicyclohexylammonium iodide was the best catalyst among the ammonium salts investigated in this study. As an application of this reaction system, we synthesized homo‐ and copolymers bearing epoxide pendant groups as substrates, which were converted with high efficiency into the corresponding homo‐ and copolymers bearing cyclic carbonate pendant groups under 1 atm at 45 °C. All polymers were easily purified simply by precipitation in water, and were isolated in high yields (>95%). © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2013  相似文献

Promotion of ionic liquid, 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide (emimBr), to the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from methanol and carbon dioxide in the presence of potassium carbonate and less amount of methyl iodide under mild conditions was investigated. The results showed that the high selectivity and raised yield of DMC was achieved due to the addition of emimBr in the reaction system. And effect of several reaction conditions such as temperature, pressure and amount of emimBr was discussed.  相似文献

This brief review presents the recent development in the synthesis of cyclic carbonate from carbon dioxide (CO2) using ionic liquids as catalyst and/or reaction medium. The synthesis of cyclic carbonate includes three aspects: catalytic reaction of CO2 and epoxide, electrochemical reaction of CO2 and epoxide, and oxidative carboxylation of olefin. Some ionic liquids are suitable catalysts and/or solvents to the CO2 fixation to produce cyclic carbonate. The activity of ionic liquid is greatly enhanced by the addition of Lewis acidic compounds of metal halides or metal complexes that have no or low activity by themselves. Using ionic liquids for the electrochemical synthesis of the cyclic carbonate can avoid harmful organic solvents, supporting electrolytes and catalysts, which are necessary for conventional electrochemical reaction systems. Although the ionic liquid is better for the oxidative carboxylation of olefin than the ordinary catalysts reported previously, this reaction system is at a preliminary stage. Using the ionic liquids, the synthesis process will become greener and simpler because of easy product separation and catalyst recycling and unnecessary use of volatile and harmful organic solvents.  相似文献

trans‐Dichlorotetrapyridineruthenium(II) [trans‐RuCl2(py)4] was synthesized and the structure was determined by single crystal X‐ray crystallography. Highly efficient formation of propylene carbonate (PC) from carbon dioxide and propylene oxide was achieved by using a catalyst system composed of trans‐RuCl2(py)4 and hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide under mild conditions (4h, 80 °C, 3.0 MPa). PC was obtained in nearly 100% selectivity without the formation of a polymer. The catalyst could be recycled constantly many times without any significant loss of its catalytic activity. On the basis of the results, a mechanism for the reaction was proposed. Copyright © 2010 European Peptide Society and John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Radical polymerization behavior of a vinyl substituted cyclic carbonate, 4‐phenyl‐5‐vinyl‐1,3‐dioxoran‐2‐one ( 1 ), is described. Radical polymerization of 1 proceeded through selective vinyl polymerization to produce polymers bearing carbonate groups in the side chain, in contrast to that of an oxirane analogue of 1 , 1‐phenyl‐2‐vinyl oxirane that proceeds via the selective ring‐opening fashion. Although the homopolymerization of 1 produce polymers in relatively lower yield, copolymerizations effectively provided cyclic carbonate‐containing copolymers. Nucleophilic addition of primary amines to the resulting homopolymers and copolymers produced the corresponding multifunctional polymers. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In the present study, the synthesis of bis(cyclic carbonate) from carbon dioxide and bisphenol A (or bisphenol S)-diglycidyl ether was investigated using quaternary ammonium salts as catalyst. Among the salts tested, the one having a larger alkyl group and more nucleophilic counter anion exhibited a better catalytic activity. Poly(hydroxyurethane)s were prepared by the polyaddition reaction of bis(cyclic carbonate) and diamine. The poly(hydroxyurethane) has shown higher thermal stability than conventional polyurethane, and is expected as novel reactive polyurethane. The miscibility of blends containing poly(hydroxyurethena) and poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile)(SAN) has been also studied by the optical clarity method and DSC.  相似文献

A series of new polymer‐supported palladium complexes with C,N‐ligands (1a–e and 2a–c) were easily synthesized. The synthesized catalysts could be applied as efficient heterogeneous catalysts for the Heck coupling reaction (turnover frequency up to 12 600 h?1). Additionally, the catalysts could be recovered by a simple filtration progress and could be reused for at least five times with a slow progressive decrease in activity. Based on the a ligand BDPPZ [(9a,13a‐dihydro‐4,5,9,14‐tetraaza‐benzo[b]triphenylene‐11‐yl)‐phenyl‐methanone] (1) and its polypyridyl hetero‐ and homoleptic Ru(II) metal complexes, [Ru(bpy)2L](PF6)2 (2), [Ru(phen)2L](PF6)2 (3), [Ru(dafo)2L](PF6)2 (4), [Ru(dcbpy)2L](PF6)2 (5) and [RuL3](PF6)2 (6) (where, L = ligand, bpy = 2,2′‐bipyridine, phen = 1,10‐phenantroline, dafo = 4,5‐diazafluoren‐9‐one and dcbpy = 3,3′‐dicarboxy‐2,2′‐bipyridine), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV–vis, FT‐IR, 1H and 13C‐NMR spectra (for ligand), molar conductivity measurements and X‐ray powder techniques. The electrochemical parameters of the substituted ligand and its polypyridyl hetero‐ and homoleptic Ru(II) metal complexes are reported by cyclic voltammetry. UV–vis spectroscopy is used to compare the differences between the conjugated π systems in this ligand and its Ru(II) metal complexes. The polypyridyl hetero‐ and homoleptic Ru(II) metal complexes also tested as catalysts for the formation of cyclic organic carbonates from carbon dioxide and liquid epoxides which served as both reactant and solvent. The results showed that the [Ru(L)3](PF6)2 (6) complex is more efficient than the other Ru(II) complexes for the formation of cyclic organic carbonates from carbon dioxide. 1H‐Quinazoline‐2,4‐diones, which are key intermediates in the synthesis of medicines, were successfully synthesized from 2‐aminobenzonitriles by the fixation of CO2 in the presence of a polystyrene derivative bearing amidine moiety [poly(amidine)]. A model reaction, that is, the reaction of 2‐aminobenzonitrile ( 1a ) with CO2 in the presence of N‐methyltetrahydropyrimidine ( MTHP ) revealed that a catalytic amount of MTHP afforded 1H‐quinazoline‐2,4‐dione ( 2a ) quantitatively at atmospheric pressure. Several 1H‐quinazoline‐2,4‐diones ( 2a ‐ 2c ) were successfully synthesized from the corresponding 2‐aminobenzonitriles ( 1a ‐ 1c ) in the presence of poly(amidine). The poly(amidine) could easily be separated from the reaction mixture by filtration and reused in subsequent reactions owing to the heterogeneous system. These demonstrated that poly(amidine) is a useful heterogeneous polymer‐supported reagent for the synthesis of 1H‐quinazoline‐2,4‐diones from CO2. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. New pyridinium-functionalized metalloporphyrins MEtPpBr4 (M = Zn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+; EtPp = 5, 10, 15, 20-tetra(4-(3-(N-ethyl-4-pyridyl)pyrazolyl)phenyl)porphyrin) were synthesized as bifunctional catalysts for the cycloaddition reactions of epoxides and CO2. The effects of catalyst loading, CO2 pressure, reaction temperature and time on catalytic activity were investigated. ZnEtPpBr4 ( 1 ) and CoEtPpBr4 ( 2 ) exhibited efficient activities in the cycloaddition reactions of various epoxides with CO2 as at 120 °C under 2 MPa of CO2 pressure without solvent. Most of corresponding cyclic carbonates could be obtained in almost quantitative yields and > 99.9% selectivity with molar ratio of epoxide/catalyst 2222 after 8 hr of reaction.  相似文献
