In this paper we describe a family of locally conformal Kähler metrics on class 1 Hopf surfaces H a,ß containing some recent metrics constructed in [GO98]. We study some canonical foliations associated to these metrics, in particular a 2-dimensional foliation E a,ß that is shown to be independent of the metric. We prove with elementary tools that E a,ß has compact leaves if and only if a mn for some integers m and n, namely in the elliptic case. In this case we prove that the leaves of E a,ß explicitly give the elliptic fibration of H a,ß, and we describe the natural orbifold structure on the leaf space.

We extend the notion of conjugacy classes and class sums from finite groups to semisimple Hopf algebras and show that the conjugacy classes are obtained from the factorization of H as irreducible left D(H)-modules. For quasitriangular semisimple Hopf algebras H, we prove that the product of two class sums is an integral combination of the class sums up to d ?2 where d = dim H. We show also that in this case the character table is obtained from the S-matrix associated to D(H). Finally, we calculate explicitly the generalized character table of D(kS 3), which is not a character table for any group. It moreover provides an example of a product of two class sums which is not an integral combination of class sums.

We study the quasitriangular structures for a family of pointed Hopf algebras which is big enough to include Taft's Hopf algebras H n 2, Radford's Hopf algebras H N,n,q, and E(n). We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the Hopf algebras in our family to be quasitriangular. For the case when they are, we determine completely all the quasitriangular structures. Also, we determine the ribbon elements of the quasitriangular Hopf algebras and the quasi-ribbon elements of their Drinfel'd double.

Let k be a field and A n (ω) be the Taft's n 2-dimensional Hopf algebras. When n is odd, the Drinfeld quantum double D(A n (ω)) of A n (ω) is a Ribbon Hopf algebra. In the previous articles, we constructed an n 4-dimensional Hopf algebra H n (p, q) which is isomorphic to D(A n (ω)) if p ≠ 0 and q = ω?1, and studied the finite dimensional representations of H n (1, q). We showed that the basic algebra of any nonsimple block of H n (1, q) is independent of n. In this article, we examine the infinite representations of H 2(1, ? 1), or equivalently of H n (1, q)?D(A n (ω)) for any n ≥ 2. We investigate the indecomposable and algebraically compact modules over H 2(1, ? 1), describe the structures of these modules and classify them under the elementary equivalence.

We continue the study started recently by Agore, Bontea and Militaru in “Classifying bicrossed products of Hopf algebras” (2014), by describing and classifying all Hopf algebras E that factorize through two Sweedler’s Hopf algebras. Equivalently, we classify all bicrossed products H 4 ? H 4. There are three steps in our approach. First, we explicitly describe the set of all matched pairs (H 4,H 4, ?, ?) by proving that, with the exception of the trivial pair, this set is parameterized by the ground field k. Then, for any λ ∈ k, we describe by generators and relations the associated bicrossed product, \({H_{16,\lambda }}\) . This is a 16-dimensional, pointed, unimodular and non-semisimple Hopf algebra. A Hopf algebra E factorizes through H 4 and H 4 if and only if E ? H 4 ? H 4 or \(E \cong {H_{16,\lambda }}\) . In the last step we classify these quantum groups by proving that there are only three isomorphism classes represented by: H 4 ? H 4, H 16,0 and H 16,1 ? D(H 4), the Drinfel’d double of H 4. The automorphism group of these objects is also computed: in particular, we prove that AutHopf (D(H 4)) is isomorphic to a semidirect product of groups, k × ? ?2.

Let k be a field and An(ω) be the Taft's n2-dimensional Hopf algebra. When n is odd, the Drinfeld quantum double D(An(ω)) of An(ω) is a ribbon Hopf algebra. In the previous articles, we constructed an n4-dimensional Hopf algebra Hn(p, q) which is isomorphic to D(An(ω)) if p ≠ 0 and q = ω?1 , and studied the irreducible representations of Hn(1, q) and the finite dimensional representations of H3(1, q). In this article, we examine the finite-dimensional representations of Hn(l q), equivalently, of D(An(ω)) for any n ≥ 2. We investigate the indecomposable left Hn(1, q)-module, and describe the structures and properties of all indecomposable modules and classify them when k is algebraically closed. We also give all almost split sequences in mod Hn(1, q), and the Auslander-Reiten-quiver of Hn(1 q).

The Structure of Hopf Algebras with a Weak Projection
We analyze the structure of a Hopf algebra H that has a Hopf subalgebra H " and a left H "-module coalgebra projection onto H ". In this situation H H " Q for Q = H / H "+ H, and the Hopf algebra structure on H can be recovered from suitable structures on Q, among others an in general nonassociative multiplication. The construction of H from H " and Q generalizes Radford biproduct, double crossproducts, and certain bicrossproducts. Further examples are Hopf algebras with a triangular decomposition, like all quantized enveloping algebras. In an appendix, we improve a standard criterion for a bicrossproduct A B of two Hopf algebras to be a Hopf algebra, and we show that in this case the antipode of the bicrossproduct is bijective if the antipodes of the factors are.

For a quasi-Hopf algebra H, a left H-comodule algebra  and a right H-module coalgebra C we will characterize the category of Doi–Hopf modules C ?(H) in terms of modules. We will also show that for an H-bicomodule algebra  and an H-bimodule coalgebra C the category of generalized Yetter–Drinfeld modules (H) C is isomorphic to a certain category of Doi–Hopf modules. Using this isomorphism we will transport the properties from the category of Doi–Hopf modules to the category of generalized Yetter–Drinfeld modules.

Let H be a Hopf algebra in a rigid symmetric monoidal category C then the evaluation map τis a convolution-invertible skew pairing. In the previous paper, we constructed a Hopf algebra D(H)=H ? r H ?cop in C. In this paper, we first show that D(H) is a quasitriangular Hopf algebra in C. Next, let H be an ordinary triangular finite-dimensional Hopf algebra. Then one can form quasitriangular Hopf algebras B(H,H) and B(H,D(H)) (in a rigid braided monoidal category) by Majid’s method associated to the ordinary Hopf algebra maps HH and iH HD(H), where D(H) is the Drin-fePd quantum double. We show that D (B(H,H)) and B(H,D(H)) are isomorphic Hopf algebras in the braided monoidal category.

We consider two new algebras from an H-biquasimodule algebra A and a Hopf quasigroup H: twisted smash product A ? H and L-R smash product A?H, and find necessary and sufficient conditions for making them Hopf quasigroups. We generalize the main results in Brzeziński and Jiao [5] and Klim and Majid [9]. Moreover, if H is a cocommutative Hopf quasigroup, we prove that A ? H is isomorphic to A?H as Hopf quasigroups.

For a Hopf algebra H over a commutative ring k and a left H-module V, the tensor functors ? ? k V and V ? k  ? are known to be left adjoint to some kind of Hom-functors as endofunctors of H 𝕄. The units and counits of adjunctions, in this case, are formally trivial as in the classical case.

In this paper, we generalize this Hom-tensor adjunction for (bi-)module categories over a quasi-Hopf algebra H and show that these (bi-)module categories are biclosed monoidal. However, the units and counits of adjunctions in these generalized cases are not as trivial as in the Hopf algebra case, and they should be modified in terms of the reassociator and the quasi-antipode. Also, if the H-module V is finitely generated and projective as a k-module, we will obtain a generalized form of adjunction between the tensor functors ? ?V and ? ?V* depending on the reassociator and quasi-antipode of H and describe a natural isomorphism between functors ? ?V* and Hom k (V, ?) explicitly. Furthermore, we consider the special case V = A being an H-module algebra. In this case, each tensor functor will be a monad and its corresponding right adjoint is a comonad. We describe isomorphisms between the (Eilenberg–Moore) module categories over these monads and the (Eilenberg–Moore) comodule categories over their corresponding comonads explicitly.

We show that if A is a finite-dimensional associative H-module algebra for an arbitrary Hopf algebra H, then the proof of the analog of Amitsur’s conjecture for H-codimensions of A can be reduced to the case when A is H-simple. (Here we do not require that the Jacobson radical of A is an H-submodule.) As an application, we prove that if A is a finite-dimensional associative H-module algebra where H is a Hopf algebra H over a field of characteristic 0 such that H is constructed by an iterated Ore extension of a finite-dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra by skew-primitive elements (e.g., H is a Taft algebra), then there exists integer PIexpH(A). In order to prove this, we study the structure of algebras simple with respect to an action of an Ore extension.

Abstract

Let k be a field with char k = p > 0 and G an abelian group with a bicharacter λ on G. For each p-(G,λ)-Lie color algebra L over k the p-universal enveloping algebra u(L) is a G-graded Hopf algebra,i.e.,a Hopf algebra in the category kG ? of kG-comodules. In this paper we describe a subcategory of kG ? which is equivalent to the category of the finite dimensional p-(G,λ)-Lie color algebras over k.

For H a quasitriangular Hopf algebra, S 2, the square of the antipode is the inner automorphism induced by the Drinfeld element u, and S 4 is the inner automorphism induced by the grouplike element g = uS(u)?1. For H finite dimensional, results of Drinfeld and Radford express g in terms of the modular elements of H. This note supplies another proof which replaces the requirement of finite dimensionality with existence of a nonzero integral for H in H*. Similar results hold for the infinite dimensional coquasitriangular case; here we supply some interesting examples.

Let ∑ = (V,E) be a finite, d‐regular bipartite graph. For any λ > 0 let πλ be the probability measure on the independent sets of ∑ in which the set I is chosen with probability proportional to λ|I|λ is the hard‐core measure with activity λ on ∑). We study the Glauber dynamics, or single‐site update Markov chain, whose stationary distribution is πλ. We show that when λ is large enough (as a function of d and the expansion of subsets of single‐parity of V) then the convergence to stationarity is exponentially slow in |V(∑)|. In particular, if ∑ is the d‐dimensional hypercube {0,1}d we show that for values of λ tending to 0 as d grows, the convergence to stationarity is exponentially slow in the volume of the cube. The proof combines a conductance argument with combinatorial enumeration methods. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Random Struct.

A laycle is the categorical analogue of a lazy cocycle. Twines (introduced by Bruguières) and strong twines (as introduced by the authors) are laycles satisfying some extra conditions. If c is a braiding, the double braiding c2 is always a twine; we prove that it is a strong twine if and only if c satisfies a sort of modified braid relation (we call such cpseudosymmetric, as any symmetric braiding satisfies this relation). It is known that the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a Hopf algebra H is symmetric if and only if H is trivial; we prove that the Yetter-Drinfeld category HYDH over a Hopf algebra H is pseudosymmetric if and only if H is commutative and cocommutative. We introduce as well the Hopf algebraic counterpart of pseudosymmetric braidings under the name pseudotriangular structures and prove that all quasitriangular structures on the 2n+1-dimensional pointed Hopf algebras E(n) are pseudotriangular. We observe that a laycle on a monoidal category induces a so-called pseudotwistor on every algebra in the category, and we obtain some general results (and give some examples) concerning pseudotwistors, inspired by the properties of laycles and twines.

An extensionBA of algebras over a commutative ringk is anH-extension for anL-bialgebroidH ifA is anH-comodule algebra andB is the subalgebra of its coinvariants. It isH-Galois if the canonical mapAB AAL H is an isomorphism or, equivalently, if the canonical coringAL H:A is a Galois coring. In the case of Hopf algebroid anyH R-extension is shown to be also anH L-extension. If the antipode is bijective then also the notions ofH R-Galois extensions and ofH L-Galois extensions are proven to coincide. Results about bijective entwining structures are extended to entwining structures over non-commutative algebras in order to prove a Kreimer-Takeuchi type theorem for a finitely generated projective Hopf algebroidH with bijective antipode. It states that anyH-Galois extensionBA is projective, and ifA isk-flat then already the surjectivity of the canonical map implies the Galois property. The Morita theory, developed for corings by Caenepeel, Vercruysse and Wang is applied to obtain equivalent criteria for the Galois property of Hopf algebroid extensions. This leads to Hopf algebroid analogues of results for Hopf algebra, extensions by Doi and, in the case of Frobenius Hopf algebroids, by Cohen, Fishman and Montgomery.

This article is devoted to faithfully flat Hopf bi-Galois extensions defined by Fischman, Montgomery, and Schneider. Let H be a Hopf algebra with bijective antipode. Given a faithfully flat right H-Galois extension A/R and a right H-comodule subalgebra C ? A such that A is faithfully flat over C, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a Hopf algebra W so that A/C is a left W-Galois extension and A a (W, H)-bicomodule algebra. As a consequence, we prove that if R = k, there is a Hopf algebra W such that A/C is a left W-Galois extension and A a (W, H)-bicomodule algebra if and only if C is an H-submodule of A with respect to the Miyashita–Ulbrich action.

Let H = X? R A denote an R-smash product of the two bialgebras X and A. We prove that (X,A) is a pair of matched bialgebras, if the R-smash product H has a braiding structure. When X is an associative algebra and A is a Hopf algebra, we investigate the global dimension and the weak dimension of the smash product H = X? R A and show that lD(H) ≤ rD(A) + lD(X) and wD(H) ≤ wD(A) + wD(X). As an application, we get lD(H 4) = ∞ for Sweedler's four dimensional Hopf algebra H 4. We also study the associativity of smash products and the relations between smash products and factorization for algebras.
