We consider an R G-module A over a commutative Noetherian ring R. Let G be a group having infinite section p-rank (or infinite 0-rank) such that C G (A) = 1, A/C A (G) is not a Noetherian R-module, but the quotient A/C A (H) is a Noetherian R-module for every proper subgroup H of infinite section p-rank (or infinite 0-rank, respectively). In this paper, it is proved that if G is a locally soluble group, then G is soluble. Some properties of soluble groups of this type are also obtained.  相似文献

Let A be an R G-module, where R is an integral domain and G is a soluble group. Suppose that C G (A) = 1 and A/C A (G) is not a noetherian R-module. Let L nnd(G) be the family of all subgroups H of G such that A/C A (H) is not a noetherian R-module. In this paper we study the structure of those G for which L nnd(G) satisfies the maximal condition.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring, let G be a finite group acting on R as automorphisms of R and let R * G be the skew group ring. By using the decomposition subgroups of G, the inertial subgroups of G, the properties of the coefficient ring R and the properties of the fixed subring R G , some necessary and sufficient conditions for R * G to be a prime Goldie ring, a semi-hereditary order in a simple Artinian ring, or a Prüfer order in a simple Artinian ring are given.  相似文献

Abstract

Let R be a local ring, with maximal ideal m , and residue class division ring R/ m ?=?D. Denote by R*?=?G L 1(R), the group of units of R. Here we investigate some algebraic structure of subnormal and maximal subgroups of R*. For instance, when D is of finite dimension over its center, it is shown that finitely generated subnormal subgroups of R* are central. It is also proved that maximal subgroups of R* are not finitely generated. Furthermore, assume that P is a nonabelian maximal subgroup of R* such that P contains a noncentral soluble normal subgroup of finite index, it is shown that D is a crossed product division algebra.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group, χ an irreducible complex character of G and A(χ) the block ideal of the group algebra ℚG relatedℴ χ. The aim of this paper is to study the group Aut (A(χ)) of all ring (or ℚ-algebra) automorphisms of A(χ). Especially we are interested in the existence of subgroups of Aut (A(χ)), which are isomorphic to a given subgroup Γ of the Galois group of the field of character values ℚ(χ) over the rationals. In this context we prove some results related to character values.  相似文献

We consider the group G of R-automorphisms of the polynomial ring R[x] in the case where the ring R has nonzero nilpotent elements. Little is known about G in this case, and because of the importance of G in understanding questions involving the polynomial ring R[x], we initiate here several lines of investigation. We do this by examining in detail examples involving the ring of integers modulo n. If R is a local ring with maximal ideal m such that R/m = ?2 and m 2 = (0), we describe more explicitly the structure of G and determine all rings of invariants of R[x] with respect to subgroups of G.  相似文献

We extend the notion of a purely infinite simple C *-algebra to the context of unital rings, and we study its basic properties, specially those related to K-theory. For instance, if R is a purely infinite simple ring, then K 0(R)+ = K 0(R), the monoid of isomorphism classes of finitely generated projective R-modules is isomorphic to the monoid obtained from K 0(R) by adjoining a new zero element, and K 1(R) is the Abelianization of the group of units of R. We develop techniques of construction, obtaining new examples in this class in the case of von Neumann regular rings, and we compute the Grothendieck groups of these examples. In particular, we prove that every countable Abelian group is isomorphic to K 0 of some purely infinite simple regular ring. Finally, some known examples are analyzed within this framework.  相似文献

Abstract

Let A be a commutative ring with identity, let X, Y be indeterminates and let F(X,Y), G(X, Y) ∈ A[X, Y] be homogeneous. Then the pair F(X, Y), G(X, Y) is said to be radical preserving with respect to A if Rad((F(x, y), G(x, y))R) = Rad((x,y)R) for each A-algebra R and each pair of elements x, y in R. It is shown that infinite sequences of pairwise radical preserving polynomials can be obtained by homogenizing cyclotomic polynomials, and that under suitable conditions on a ?-graded ring A these can be used to produce an infinite set of homogeneous prime ideals between two given homogeneous prime ideals P ? Q of A such that ht(Q/P) = 2.  相似文献

Let G be a locally compact group, and let R(G) denote the ring of subsets of G generated by the left cosets of open subsets of G. The Cohen-Host idempotent theorem asserts that a set lies in R(G) if and only if its indicator function is a coefficient function of a unitary representation of G on some Hilbert space. We prove related results for representations of G on certain Banach spaces. We apply our Cohen-Host type theorems to the study of the Figà-Talamanca-Herz algebras Ap(G) with p∈(1,∞). For arbitrary G, we characterize those closed ideals of Ap(G) that have an approximate identity bounded by 1 in terms of their hulls. Furthermore, we characterize those G such that Ap(G) is 1-amenable for some—and, equivalently, for all—p∈(1,∞): these are precisely the abelian groups.  相似文献

We study a \mathbbZG \mathbb{Z}G -module A such that \mathbbZ \mathbb{Z} is the ring of integer numbers, the group G has an infinite sectional p-rank (or an infinite 0-rank), C G (A) = 1, A is not a minimax \mathbbZ \mathbb{Z} -module, and, for any proper subgroup H of infinite sectional p-rank (or infinite 0-rank, respectively), the quotient module A/C A (H) is a minimax \mathbbZ \mathbb{Z} -module. It is shown that if the group G is locally soluble, then it is soluble. Some properties of soluble groups of this kind are discussed.  相似文献

We prove that every separable algebra over an infinite field F admits a presentation with 2 generators and finitely many relations. In particular, this is true for finite direct sums of matrix algebras over F and for group algebras FG, where G is a finite group such that the order of G is invertible in F. We illustrate the usefulness of such presentations by using them to find a polynomial criterion to decide when 2 ordered pairs of 2 × 2 matrices (A, B) and (A′, B′) with entries in a commutative ring R are automorphically conjugate over the matrix algebra M 2(R), under an additional assumption that both pairs generate M 2(R) as an R-algebra.  相似文献

For a finite group G, let v(G) denote the number of conjugacy classes of non-normal subgroups of G and vc(G) denote the number of conjugacy classes of non-normal noncyclic subgroups of G. In this paper, we show that every finite group G satisfying v(G) ≤2|π(G)| or vc(G) ≤ |π(G)| is solvable, and for a finite nonsolvable group G, v(G) = 2|π(G)| +1 if and only if G ? A 5.  相似文献

Let R(G) denote the intersection of all nonnormal subgroups of a group G. In this note, we prove that for every finite group G, if R(G) is not trivial, then the normalizer property holds forG.  相似文献

Extending M. Daws’ definition of ultra-amenable Banach algebras, we introduce the notion of operator ultra-amenability for completely contractive Banach algebras. For a locally compact group G, we show that the operator ultra-amenability of A(G) imposes severe restrictions on G. In particular, it forces G to be a discrete, amenable group with no infinite abelian subgroups. For various classes of such groups, this means that G is finite.  相似文献

We compute the Drinfel’d double for the bicrossproduct multiplier Hopf algebra A = k[G] ⋊ K(H) associated with the factorization of an infinite group M into two subgroups G and H. We also show that there is a basis-preserving self-duality structure for the multiplier Hopf algebra A = k[G] ⋊ K(H) if there is a factor-reversing group isomorphism. Presented by A. Let R be a ring, which is either a ring of integers or a field of zero characteristic. For every finite graph Γ, we construct an R-arithmetic linear group H(Γ). The group H(Γ) is realized as the factor automorphism group of a partially commutative class two nilpotent R-group G Γ. Also we describe the structure of the entire automorphism group of a partially commutative nilpotent R-group of class two.  相似文献

For any group G such that G is a right R-module for some ring R, the elements of R act on G as endomorphisms and we obtain the near-ring of R-homogeneous maps on G: MR(G) = {f: G → G|f(ga) = f(g)a for all a ∈ R, g ∈ G}. In the special case that R is a topological ring and G is a topological R-module, we study NR(G): = {f ∈ MR(G)|f is continuous}. In particular, we investigate primeness of the near-ring NR(G) of continuous homogeneous maps on G.  相似文献
