A quick method of solution for multiple integral equations which are defined over a partition consisting of three intervals of the positive axis and whose kernel is the combination of trigonometric functions has been explained. The solution procedure can be extended to deal with similar integral equations defined over any finite partition of the positive axis. To represent the solution uniquely, certain solvability criteria are obtained in terms of the forcing functions involved. Limiting cases of dual integral equations over two disjoint intervals are discussed.  相似文献

By regarding a finite field as a vector space over the prime field with a basis consisting of powers of an element, a Hamming distance is defined on the finite field with respect to the power basis. We consider the existence of isometric homomorphisms between such finite fields, and characterize the isometric embeddings for even characteristic by arithmetical conditions. Moreover, a canonical Hamming metric is defined in a certain infinite dimensional algebraic extension of a finite field.  相似文献

提出了固体中短波传播数值模拟的单位分解有限元法.有限元空间由形成单位分解的标准等参有限元形函数乘以定义为局部子空间基函数的特殊形函数构成.特殊形函数使试空间中包含了关于波动方程的已有知识,因而在单个单元内能近似地再现高度振荡性质.数值例题显示了所提出单位分解有限元在计算精度和效率上的良好性能.  相似文献

We prove a canonical partition relation for finite subsets of ω that generalizes Hindman's theorem in much the same way that the Erdös-Rado canonical partition relation generalizes Ramsey's theorem. A Pall partition for a quadratic space V is a collection of disjoint (except for {0}) maximal totally isotropic subspaces whose union contains all of the isotropic vectors in V. In this paper it is shown that no non-degenerate quadratic space of dimension 4k+1, k?1, over a finite field of odd characteristic can have a Pall partition. The method of proof consists of assuming such a partition exists and showing by various counting arguments that this leads to the existence of an impossible array of ordered pairs.  相似文献

A word function is a function from the set of all words over a finite alphabet into the set of real numbers. In particular, when the blocks of a partition over the state set of a Markov chain are taken as the letters of the finite alphabet, and the function represents the probabilities that the chain will visit sequences of such blocks consecutively, then the function is a function of a Markov chain. It is known that (the rank of a function is defined in the text), a word function is of “finite rank” if and only if it is a function of a pseudo Markov chain (“pseudo” means here that the initial vector and the matrix representing the chain may have positive, negative, or zero values and are not necessarily stochastic). The aim of this note is to show that any function of a pseudo Markov chain can be represented as the difference of two functions of true Markov chains multiplied by a factor which grows exponentially with the length of the arguments (considered as words over a finite alphabet).  相似文献

We give a generic estimation of trigonometric sums defined over closed sub-schemes with semi-stable reduction of the standard affine scheme modulo pn(n 2). We use Greenberg realisation to reduce to trigonometric sums defined over smooths sub-schemes of a finite product of Witt vectors over the finite field of p elements. Using the cohomological interpretation of this sums over a finite field, the sum is directly related to the Fourier–Deligne transformation of the dual pairs of Witt vectors. We deduce the estimation from the properties of the Fourier–Deligne transformation on simple perverse sheaves and pure sheaves.  相似文献

We consider the problem of numerical approximation of integrals of random fields over a unit hypercube. We use a stratified Monte Carlo quadrature and measure the approximation performance by the mean squared error. The quadrature is defined by a finite number of stratified randomly chosen observations with the partition generated by a rectangular grid (or design). We study the class of locally stationary random fields whose local behaviour is like a fractional Brownian field in the mean square sense and find the asymptotic approximation accuracy for a sequence of designs for large number of the observations. For the Hölder class of random functions, we provide an upper bound for the approximation error. Additionally, for a certain class of isotropic random functions with an isolated singularity at the origin, we construct a sequence of designs eliminating the effect of the singularity point.  相似文献

We present a new algorithm to decide finiteness of matrix groups defined over a field of positive characteristic. Together with previous work for groups in zero characteristic, this provides the first complete solution of the finiteness problem for finitely generated matrix groups over a field. We also give an algorithm to compute the order of a finite matrix group over a function field of positive characteristic by constructing an isomorphic copy of the group over a finite field. Our implementations of these algorithms are publicly available in Magma.  相似文献

In this contribution, we will define an l-dimensional Lee distance which is a generalization of the Lee distance defined only over a prime field, and we will construct 2-error correcting codes for this distance. Our l-dimensional Lee distance can be defined not only over a prime field but also over any finite field. The ordinary Lee distance is just the one-dimensional Lee distance. Also the Mannheim or modular distances introduced by Huber are special cases of our distance.  相似文献

In this paper we compute the number of curves of genus 2 defined over a finite field k of odd characteristic up to isomorphisms defined over k; the even characteristic case is treated in an ongoing work (G. Cardona, E. Nart, J. Pujolàs, Curves of genus 2 over field of even characteristic, 2003, submitted for publication). To this end, we first give a parametrization of all points in , the moduli variety that classifies genus 2 curves up to isomorphism, defined over an arbitrary perfect field (of zero or odd characteristic) and corresponding to curves with non-trivial reduced group of automorphisms; we also give an explicit representative defined over that field for each of these points. Then, we use cohomological methods to compute the number of k-isomorphism classes for each point in .  相似文献

We characterize the Moufang hexagons in characteristic 2 by requiring that certain sets of points (defined by distances from other objects) are nonempty. Together with a known result for quadrangles, we obtain a common combinatorial characterization of the symplectic quadrangles over an arbitrary finite field and the classical hexagons over a field of characteristic 2 amongst all finite generalized polygons.  相似文献

Donovan’s conjecture states that there exist only finitely many Morita equivalence classes of p-blocks with a given defect. This conjecture was shown by Radha Kessar to be equivalent to two other conjectures, one of which is that the basic algebras of p-blocks with a given defect can all be defined over a single finite field. We shall show that this latter conjecture is equivalent to the seemingly stronger statement that all p-blocks with a given defect can be defined over a single finite field.  相似文献
