We prove that each 2-local derivation from the algebra Mn(A ) (n > 2) into its bimodule Mn(M) is a derivation, where A is a unital Banach algebra and M is a unital A -bimodule such that each Jordan derivation from A into M is an inner derivation, and that each 2-local derivation on a C*-algebra with a faithful traceable representation is a derivation. We also characterize local and 2-local Lie derivations on some algebras such as von Neumann algebras, nest algebras, the Jiang–Su algebra, and UHF algebras.  相似文献

An Ockham algebra (L; f) will be called minimal if it has exactly two subalgebras. In the generalised variety K w , we describe the minimal Ockham algebras.  相似文献

Every cluster-tilted algebra B is the relation extension \(C\ltimes \textup {Ext}^{2}_{C}(DC,C)\) of a tilted algebra C. A B-module is called induced if it is of the form M? C B for some C-module M. We study the relation between the injective presentations of a C-module and the injective presentations of the induced B-module. Our main result is an explicit construction of the modules and morphisms in an injective presentation of any induced B-module. In the case where the C-module, and hence the B-module, is projective, our construction yields an injective resolution. In particular, it gives a module theoretic proof of the well-known 1-Gorenstein property of cluster-tilted algebras.  相似文献

In [22] (Tong-Viet H P, Simple classical groups of Lie type are determined by their character degrees, J. Algebra, 357 (2012) 61–68), the following question arose: Which groups can be uniquely determined by the structure of their complex group algebras? The authors in [12] (Khosravi B et al., Some extensions of PSL(2,p2) are uniquely determined by their complex group algebras, Comm. Algebra, 43(8) (2015) 3330–3341) proved that each extension of PSL(2,p2) of order 2|PSL(2,p2)| is uniquely determined by its complex group algebra. In this paper we continue this work. Let p be an odd prime number and q = p or q = p3. Let M be a finite group such that |M| = h|PSL(2,q), where h is a divisor of |Out(PSL(2,q))|. Also suppose that M has an irreducible character of degree q and 2p does not divide the degree of any irreducible character of M. As the main result of this paper we prove that M has a unique nonabelian composition factor which is isomorphic to PSL(2,q). As a consequence of our result we prove that M is uniquely determined by its order and some information on its character degrees which implies that M is uniquely determined by the structure of its complex group algebra.  相似文献

The reduced C*-algebra of the interior of the isotropy in any Hausdorff étale groupoid G embeds as a C*-subalgebra M of the reduced C*-algebra of G. We prove that the set of pure states of M with unique extension is dense, and deduce that any representation of the reduced C*-algebra of G that is injective on M is faithful. We prove that there is a conditional expectation from the reduced C*-algebra of G onto M if and only if the interior of the isotropy in G is closed. Using this, we prove that when the interior of the isotropy is abelian and closed, M is a Cartan subalgebra. We prove that for a large class of groupoids G with abelian isotropy—including all Deaconu–Renault groupoids associated to discrete abelian groups—M is a maximal abelian subalgebra. In the specific case of k-graph groupoids, we deduce that M is always maximal abelian, but show by example that it is not always Cartan.  相似文献

Nonassociative commutative algebras A, generated by idempotents e whose adjoint operators ad e : AA, given by x ? xe, are diagonalizable and have few eigenvalues, are of recent interest. When certain fusion (multiplication) rules between the associated eigenspaces are imposed, the structure of these algebras remains rich yet rather rigid. For example, vertex operator algebras give rise to such algebras. The connection between the Monster algebra and Monster group extends to many axial algebras which then have interesting groups of automorphisms.Axial algebras of Jordan type η are commutative algebras generated by idempotents whose adjoint operators have a minimal polynomial dividing (x-1)x(x-η), where η ? {0, 1} is fixed, with well-defined and restrictive fusion rules. The case of η ≠1/2 was thoroughly analyzed by Hall, Rehren and Shpectorov in a recent paper, in which axial algebras were introduced. Here we focus on the case where η = 1/2, which is less understood and is of a different nature.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to study the finite-dimensional solvable Lie algebras described in its title, which we call minimal non- \({\mathcal N}\). To facilitate this we investigate solvable Lie algebras of nilpotent length k, and of nilpotent length ≤k, and extreme Lie algebras, which have the property that their nilpotent length is equal to the number of conjugacy classes of maximal subalgebras. We characterise the minimal non-\({\mathcal N}\) Lie algebras in which every nilpotent subalgebra is abelian, and those of solvability index ≤3.  相似文献

In this paper we study a class of algebras having n-dimensional pyramid shaped quiver with n-cubic cells, which we called n-cubic pyramid algebras. This class of algebras includes the quadratic dual of the basic n-Auslander absolutely n-complete algebras introduced by Iyama. We show that the projective resolutions of the simples of n-cubic pyramid algebras can be characterized by n-cuboids, and prove that they are periodic. So these algebras are almost Koszul and (n?1)-translation algebras. We also recover Iyama’s cone construction for n-Auslander absolutely n-complete algebras using n-cubic pyramid algebras and the theory of n-translation algebras.  相似文献

A matrix MRn×n is said to be a column sufficient matrix if the solution set of LCP(M,q) is convex for every qRn. In a recent article, Qin et al. (Optim. Lett. 3:265–276, 2009) studied the concept of column sufficiency property in Euclidean Jordan algebras. In this paper, we make a further study of this concept and prove numerous results relating column sufficiency with the Z and Lypaunov-like properties. We also study this property for some special linear transformations.  相似文献

A von Neumann algebra \({M\subset B(H)}\) is called weakly injective if there exist an ultraweakly dense unital C*-subalgebra \({A\subset M}\) and a unital completely positive map φ : B(H) → M such that φ(a) = a for all \({a\in A}\). In this note we present several properties of weakly injective von Neumann algebras and highlight the role these algebras play in relation to the QWEP conjecture.  相似文献

Let M and N be modules over an artin algebra such that M degenerates to N. We show that any submodule of M degenerates to a submodule of N. This suggests that a composition series of M will in some sense degenerate to a composition series of N. We then study a subvariety of the module variety, consisting of those representations where all matrices are upper triangular. We show that these representations can be seen as representations of composition series, and that the orbit closures describe the above mentioned degeneration of composition series.  相似文献

Let S be a semigroup. We study the structure of graded-simple S-graded algebras A and the exponential rate PIexp S-gr(A):= limn→∞ \(\sqrt[n]{{c_n^{S - gr}\left( A \right)}}\) of growth of codimensions c n S-gr (A) of their graded polynomial identities. This is of great interest since such algebras can have non-integer PIexp S-gr(A) despite being finite dimensional and associative. In addition, such algebras can have a non-trivial Jacobson radical J(A). All this is in strong contrast with the case when S is a group since in the group case J(A) is trivial, PIexp S-gr(A) is always integer and, if the base field is algebraically closed, then PIexp S-gr(A) equals dimA. Without any restrictions on the base field F, we classify graded-simple S-graded algebras A for a class of semigroups S which is complementary to the class of groups. We explicitly describe the structure of J(A) showing that J(A) is built up of pieces of a maximal S-graded semisimple subalgebra of A which turns out to be simple. When F is algebraically closed, we get an upper bound for \({\overline {\lim } _{n \to \infty }}\sqrt[n]{{c_n^{S - gr}\left( A \right)}}\). If A/J(A) ≈ M 2(F) and S is a right zero band, we show that this upper bound is sharp and PIexp S-gr(A) indeed exists. In particular, we present an infinite family of graded-simple algebras A with arbitrarily large non-integer PIexp S-gr(A).  相似文献

Let A and B be algebras, and let T be the dual extension algebra of A and B. We provide a different method to prove that T is Koszul if and only if both A and B are Koszul. Furthermore, we prove that an algebra is Koszul if and only if one of its iterated dual extension algebras is Koszul, if and only if all its iterated dual extension algebras are Koszul. Finally, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for a dual extension algebra to have the property that all linearly presented modules are Koszul modules, which provides an effective way to construct algebras with such a property.  相似文献

For an effect algebra A, we examine the category of all morphisms from finite Boolean algebras into A. This category can be described as a category of elements of a presheaf R(A) on the category of finite Boolean algebras. We prove that some properties (being an orthoalgebra, the Riesz decomposition property, being a Boolean algebra) of an effect algebra A can be characterized in terms of some properties of the category of elements of the presheaf R(A). We prove that the tensor product of effect algebras arises as a left Kan extension of the free product of finite Boolean algebras along the inclusion functor. The tensor product of effect algebras can be expressed by means of the Day convolution of presheaves on finite Boolean algebras.  相似文献

A defining set of a t-(v, k, λ) design is a subcollection of its blocks which is contained in no other t-design with the given parameters, on the same point set. A minimal defining set is a defining set, none of whose proper subcollections is a defining set. The spectrum of minimal defining sets of a design D is the set {|M| | M is a minimal defining set of D}. We show that if a t-(v, k, λ) design D is contained in a design F, then for every minimal defining set d D of D there exists a minimal defining set d F of F such that \({d_D = d_F\cap D}\). The unique simple design with parameters \({{\left(v,k, {v-2\choose k-2}\right)}}\) is said to be the full design on v elements; it comprises all possible k-tuples on a v set. Every simple t-(v, k, λ) design is contained in a full design, so studying minimal defining sets of full designs gives valuable information about the minimal defining sets of all t-(v, k, λ) designs. This paper studies the minimal defining sets of full designs when t = 2 and k = 3. Several families of non-isomorphic minimal defining sets of these designs are found. For given v, a lower bound on the size of the smallest and an upper bound on the size of the largest minimal defining set are given. The existence of a continuous section of the spectrum comprising approximately v values is shown, where just two values were known previously.  相似文献

Let M be an n-dimensional complete Riemannian manifold with Ricci curvature n- 1. By developing some new techniques, Colding(1996) proved that the following three conditions are equivalent: 1)dGH(M, S~n) → 0; 2) the volume of M Vol(M) → Vol(S~n); 3) the radius of M rad(M) →π. By developing a different technique, Petersen(1999) gave the 4th equivalent condition, namely he proved that the n + 1-th eigenvalue of M, λ_(n+1)(M) → n, is also equivalent to the radius of M, rad(M) →π, and hence the other two.In this paper, we use Colding's techniques to give a new proof of Petersen's theorem. We expect our estimates will have further applications.  相似文献

Unless otherswise specified, all objects are defined over a field k of characteristic 0. Let K be a field. The unessentialness of an extension of the algebra Der K by means of a splittable semisimple Lie algebra is established. Let D K be the category of differential Lie algebras (DL-algebras) (g;K). In this paper for an extension L/K the functor η:D K → D L , defining the tensor product L ? K of vector spaces and the homomorphism of Lie algebras, is constructed. If the extension L/K is algebraic, then η is unique. The results will be required for strengthening the progress on Gelfand–Kirillov problem and weakened conjecture [1, 2].  相似文献

Differential-difference equations of the form u? n = F n (t, un?1, u n , un+1, u?n?1, u? n , u?n+1) are classified according to their intrinsic Lie point symmetries, equivalence group and some low-dimensional Lie algebras including the Abelian symmetry algebras, nilpotent nonAbelian symmetry algebras, solvable symmetry algebras with nonAbelian nilradicals, solvable symmetry algebras with Abelian nilradicals and nonsolvable symmetry algebras. Here F n is a nonlinear function of its arguments and the dot over u denotes differentiation with respect to t.  相似文献

Let M be an m-dimensional manifold and A = D k r /I = R⊕N A a Weil algebra of height r. We prove that any A-covelocity T x A fT x A *M, xM is determined by its values over arbitrary max{width A,m} regular and under the first jet projection linearly independent elements of T x A M. Further, we prove the rigidity of the so-called universally reparametrizable Weil algebras. Applying essentially those partial results we give the proof of the general rigidity result T A *M ? T r *M without coordinate computations, which improves and generalizes the partial result obtained in Tomá? (2009) from mk to all cases of m.We also introduce the space J A (M,N) of A-jets and prove its rigidity in the sense of its coincidence with the classical jet space J r (M,N).  相似文献

A certain squarefree monomial ideal H P arising from a finite partially ordered set P will be studied from viewpoints of both commutative algbera and combinatorics. First, it is proved that the defining ideal of the Rees algebra of H P possesses a quadratic Gröbner basis. Thus in particular all powers of H P have linear resolutions. Second, the minimal free graded resolution of H P will be constructed explicitly and a combinatorial formula to compute the Betti numbers of H P will be presented. Third, by using the fact that the Alexander dual of the simplicial complex Δ whose Stanley–Reisner ideal coincides with H P is Cohen–Macaulay, all the Cohen–Macaulay bipartite graphs will be classified.  相似文献
