Finite Travelling Waves for a Semilinear Degenerate Reaction-Diffusion System

In this paper, the existence and nonexistence of finite travelling waves (FTWs) for a semilinear degenerate reaction-diffusion system is studied, where 0 < α _i < 1, m _ij ≥ 0 and ∑ ^N _{j =1} m _ij > 0, i, j = 1,...,N. Necessary and sufficient conditions on existence and large time behaviours of FTWs of (I) are obtained by using the matrix theory, Schauder's fixed point theorem, and upper and lower solutions method. 构造并研究了一类具有非局部时滞Schoner竞争反应扩散模型．每一个种群的成熟期是一个常数,而且只有成年种群存在竞争,幼年的种群并不存在竞争,此外种群个体在空间区域中的运动是随机行走的．我们利用Wang,Li和Ruan建立的具有非局部时滞的反应扩散系统的波前解存在性理论,证明了连接两个边界平衡解的行波解的存在性．     

Travelling Waves and Numerical Approximations in a Reaction Advection Diffusion Equation with Nonlocal Delayed Effects

Summary. In this paper, we consider the growth dynamics of a single-species population with two age classes and a fixed maturation period living in a spatial transport field. A Reaction Advection Diffusion Equation (RADE) model with time delay and nonlocal effect is derived if the mature death and diffusion rates are age independent. We discuss the existence of travelling waves for the delay model with three birth functions which appeared in the well-known Nicholson's blowflies equation, and we consider and analyze numerical solutions of the travelling wavefronts from the wave equations for the problems with nonlocal temporally delayed effects. In particular, we report our numerical observations about the change of the monotonicity and the possible occurrence of multihump waves. The stability of the travelling wavefront is numerically considered by computing the full time-dependent partial differential equations with nonlocal delay.

Travelling Waves with a Singularity in Magnetic Nanowires

We model the evolution of the magnetization in an infinite cylinder by harmonic map heat flow with an additional external field. Using variational methods, we prove the existence of corotationally symmetric travelling wave solutions with a moving vortex. We moreover show that for weak and strong fields the travelling waves connect the original state anti-parallel to the external magnetic field with the totally reversed state in direction of the external field. Our results match numeric simulations. For thicker wires several groups have found a reversal mode where a domain wall with a corotational symmetry and a vortex is propagating through the wire.     

Traveling Waves for Nonlocal and Non-monotone Delayed Reaction-difusion Equations

We study the existence of traveling wave solutions for a nonlocal and non-monotone delayed reaction-difusion equation.Based on the construction of two associated auxiliary reaction difusion equations with monotonicity and by using the traveling wavefronts of the auxiliary equations,the existence of the positive traveling wave solutions for c≥c is obtained.Also,the exponential asymptotic behavior in the negative infnity was established.Moreover,we apply our results to some reactiondifusion equations with spatio-temporal delay to obtain the existence of traveling waves.These results cover,complement and/or improve some existing ones in the literature.

Solution and Asymptotic Behaviour for a Nonlocal Coupled System of Reaction-Diffusion

This paper concerns with the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behaviour of the solutions for a nonlocal coupled system of reaction-diffusion. We prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions by the Faedo-Galerkin method and exponential decay of solutions by the classic energy method. We improve the results obtained by Chipot-Lovato and Menezes for coupled systems. A numerical scheme is presented. Dynamics of Concentration in a Population Model Structured by Age and a Phenotypical Trait

In this paper, we consider the initial-boundary value problem of the two-species chemotaxis Keller-Segel model

where the parameters \(\chi_{1}\), \(\chi_{2}\), \(\alpha_{1}\), \(\alpha_{2}\), \(\gamma \) are positive constants, \(\varOmega \subset \mathbb{R}^{2}\) is a bounded domain with smooth boundary. We obtain the results for finite time blow-up and global bounded as follows: (1) For any fixed \(x_{0}\in \varOmega \), if \(\chi_{1}\alpha_{2}= \chi_{2}\alpha_{1}\), \(\int_{\varOmega }(u_{0}+v_{0})|x-x_{0}|^{2}dx\) is sufficiently small, and \(\int_{\varOmega }(u_{0}+v_{0})dx>\frac{8\pi ( \chi_{1}\alpha_{1}+\chi_{2}\alpha_{2})}{\chi_{1}\alpha_{1}\chi_{2} \alpha_{2}}\), then the nonradial solution of the two-species Keller-Segel model blows up in finite time. Moreover, if \(\varOmega \) is a convex domain, we find a lower bound for the blow-up time; (2) If \(\|u_{0}\|_{L^{1}(\varOmega )}\) and \(\|v_{0}\|_{L^{1}( \varOmega )}\) lie below some thresholds, respectively, then the solution exists globally and remains bounded.

Multifrequency NLS Scaling for a Model Equation of Gravity‐Capillary Waves

This paper is the first in a series papers devoted to the study of the rigorous derivation of the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation as well as other related systems starting from a model coming from the gravity‐capillary water wave system in the long‐wave limit. Our main goal is to understand resonances and their effects on having the nonlinear Schrödinger approximation or modification of it or having other models to describe the limit equation. In this first paper, our goal is not to derive NLS but to allow the presence of an arbitrary sequence of frequencies around which we have a modulation and prove local existence on a uniform time. This yields a new class of large data for which we have a large time of existence. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

This paper considers the travelling wave fronts to a delayed lattice differential equation.The existence of the travelling wave solutions is proved by making use of the technique of the upper and lower solutions developed by J Wu and X Zou in[6].This work extends that of [4]in a general class of nonlinear terms.
