Triple products on  n

Triple products in  _n whose related algebra is  _n itself or  _n are classified up to isomorphism. This classification is obtained using the intimate relation between triple products and Lie (super)algebra structures.     

Anisotropic Meshless Frames on ℝ n

We present a construction of anisotropic multiresolution and anisotropic wavelet frames based on multilevel ellipsoid covers (dilations) of ℝ ⁿ . The wavelets we construct are C ^∞ functions, can have any prescribed number of vanishing moments and fast decay with respect to the anisotropic quasi-distance induced by the cover. The dual wavelets are also C ^∞, with the same number of vanishing moments, but with only mild decay with respect to the quasi-distance. An alternative construction yields a meshless frame whose elements do not have vanishing moments, but do have fast anisotropic decay.     

Canonical Equivalence Relations on ℚ n

We show that for each positive integer n there is a finite list of equivalence relations on [] ⁿ with the property that for every other equivalence relation E on [] ⁿ there is X of order type equal to the order type of , such that E[X] ⁿ is equal to one of the equivalence relations from the list.     

Toeplitz and Hankel matrices on ℂ n

It is known that the characterizations of the Toeplitz operatorT onH ² and also the Hankel operatorH onH ² by using the simple unilateral shiftT _z . Recently, some characterization of the normal Toeplitz matrix truncated on ⁿ is given by D.R.Farenick, M. Krupnik, N. Krupnik and W. Y. Lee [1] and, independently, by T.Ito [2]. In this paper, we shall give some characterizations of the Toeplitz matrix and also the Hankel matrix truncated on ⁿ .Dedicated to Professor Masanori Fukamiya on his 88th birthday     

Injectivity sets for spherical means on ℝ n and on symmetric spacesand on symmetric spaces

A complex Radon measure μ on ℝ ⁿ is said to be of at most exponential-quadratic growth if there exist positive constants C and α such that . Let X_exp denote the space of all complex Radon measure on ℝ ⁿ of at most exponential-quadratic growth. Using elementary methods, we obtain injectivity sets for spherical means for X_exp. We also discuss similar results for symmetric spaces.     

Notes on a problem of Turán

Orthogonal almost locally minimal projections on ℓ 1 n

A projectionP on a Banach spaceX with ‖P‖≤λ₀ is called almost locally minimal if, for every α>0 small enough, the ballB(P,α) in the space of operatorsL(X) does not contain a projectionQ with ‖Q‖≤‖P‖(1–Dα²), whereD=D(λ₀) is a constant independent of ‖P‖. It is shown that, for everyp≥1 and every compact abelian groupG, every translation invariant projection onL _p(G) is almost locally minimal. Orthogonal projections on ℓ ₁ ⁿ are investigated with respect to some weaker local minimality properties. Hardy Spaces on ? n with Pointwise Variable Anisotropy

In this work we develop highly geometric Hardy spaces, for the full range 0<p≤1. These spaces are constructed over multi-level ellipsoid covers of ℝ ⁿ that are highly anisotropic in the sense that the ellipsoids can change shape rapidly from point to point and from level to level. This generalizes previous work on anisotropic Hardy spaces where the geometry of the space was ‘fixed’ over ℝ ⁿ and extends Hardy spaces over spaces of homogeneous type, where the theory holds for p values that are ‘close’ to 1.     

The Linearized Calderón Problem on Complex Manifolds

In this note we show that on any compact subdomain of a Kähler manifold that admits sufficiently many global holomorphic functions, the products of harmonic functions form a complete set. This gives a positive answer to the linearized anisotropic Calderón problem on a class of complex manifolds that includes compact subdomains of Stein manifolds and sufficiently small subdomains of Kähler manifolds. Some of these manifolds do not admit limiting Carleman weights, and thus cannot be treated by standard methods for the Calderón problem in higher dimensions. The argument is based on constructing Morse holomorphic functions with approximately prescribed critical points. This extends earlier results from the case of Riemann surfaces to higher dimensional complex manifolds.     

On Polynomial Inequalities on Exponential Curves in ℂ n

We discuss Bernstein–Walsh type inequalities for holomorphic polynomials restricted to curves of the form $$\bigl(z,e^{P_{1}(z)},e^{P_{2}(z)},\ldots,e^{P_{d}(z)}\bigr)\in\mathbb{C}^{d+1},$$ where P ₁,P ₂,…,P _d are fixed polynomials on ? (such that the functions z and $e^{P_{k}(z)}$ are algebraically independent). The existence of such inequalities automatically implies the existence of associated Bernstein–Markov inequalities on the derivatives of polynomials restricted to the curve. The d=1 case has been much discussed in the recent literature. However, the d>1 case requires different techniques, and that is the subject of this work.     

Spherical Harmonic Analysis on Buildings of Type à n

 To any locally finite thick building of type there is naturally associated a commutative algebra of operators. When is constructed from a local field F with local ring , and , then is isomorphic to the convolution algebra of compactly supported bi-K-invariant functions on PGL(n+1,F). We give a proof, valid for any , that the multiplicative functionals on may all be expressed in terms of Hall–Littlewood polynomials. Regarding as a subalgebra of the C ^*-algebra of bounded operators on the space of square summable functions on the vertex set of , we find the spectrum of the C ^*-algebra , the closure of . This generalizes results obtained in [3] when n = 1 and in [5] when n = 2. (Received 26 June 2000; in revised form 21 February 2001)     

M -Hypoelliptic pseudo-differential operators on Lp (ℝ n )

Following Wong's point of view, we construct the minimal and maximal extension in L^p (? ⁿ ), 1 < p < ∞ for M-hypoelliptic pseudo-differential operators, which have been introduced and studied by Garello and Morando. We give some facts about the domain of minimal and maximal extensions of M-hypoelliptic pseudo-differential operators. For M-hypoelliptic pseudo-differential operators with constant coefficients, the spectrum and essential spectrum are computed.     

Pullback attractors for non-autonomous reaction-diffusion equations on ℝ n

We study the long time behavior of solutions of the non-autonomous reaction-diffusion equation defined on the entire space ℝ ⁿ when external terms are unbounded in a phase space. The existence of a pullback global attractor for the equation is established in L ²(ℝ ⁿ ) and H ¹(ℝ ⁿ ), respectively. The pullback asymptotic compactness of solutions is proved by using uniform a priori estimates on the tails of solutions outside bounded domains.      

About the Cohomology of the Lie Superalgebra of Vector Fields on ℝ n|n

In this article, we compute the first space of cohomology of Vect (? ^n|n ), the Lie superalgebra of vector fields on the supermanifold ? ^n|n with coefficients in 𝒻 (? ^n|n ), the space of smooth functions on ? ^n|n . We give a super analog of the cohomologies of vector fields that where studied for instance by Fuchs [2 Fuchs , D. B. ( 1986 ). Cohomology of Infinite Dimensional Lie Algebras . New York : Consultants Bureau . [Google Scholar]]. This work allows us to classify the deformations of the action of Vect(? ^n|n ) on 𝒻 (? ^n|n ).     

The actions ofS n+1 andS n on the cohomology ring of a coxeter arrangement of typeA n−1

Let be the complexified Coxeter arrangement of hyperplanes of typeA _n−1. In this paper we construct anS _n+1 extension of the naturalS _n action on the complex cohomology ring of the complement ofA _n−1. Recurrence formulas connecting characters with respect to theS _n and theS _n+1 action are given.
