Abstract

We present a new study of linear elasticity for an infinite three-dimensional plate of finite thickness Ω = ?2 × (?1, 1). We first characterize the kernel of the operator of elasticity as polynomials which can be build from the kernel of the classical Kirchhoff–Love model of plate. Using this characterization, we get optimal uniform elliptic estimates W k, p , C k, α on the solution as a function of the exterior forces. We also give an interior estimate.  相似文献

Abstract

In this article we investigate the issue of local well-posedness for quasilinear wave equations in ?2+1 with rough initial data. Our work extends the geometric methods pioneered by Klainerman and Klainerman-Rodniandski for similar problems in ?3+1. The main new ingredient of the argument is the use of two new vectorfields, the scaling vectorfield S and the angular momentum vectorfield Ω, which complement the decay information provided by the Morawetz vectorfield K.  相似文献

We derive residual‐based a posteriori error estimates of finite element method for linear wave equation with discontinuous coefficients in a two‐dimensional convex polygonal domain. A posteriori error estimates for both the space‐discrete case and for implicit fully discrete scheme are discussed in L(L2) norm. The main ingredients used in deriving a posteriori estimates are new Clément type interpolation estimates in conjunction with appropriate adaption of the elliptic reconstruction technique of continuous and discrete solutions. We use only an energy argument to establish a posteriori error estimates with optimal order convergence in the L(L2) norm.  相似文献

We consider boundary measurements for the wave equation on a bounded domain M ? ?2 or on a compact Riemannian surface, and introduce a method to locate a discontinuity in the wave speed. Assuming that the wave speed consist of an inclusion in a known smooth background, the method can determine the distance from any boundary point to the inclusion. In the case of a known constant background wave speed, the method reconstructs a set contained in the convex hull of the inclusion and containing the inclusion. Even if the background wave speed is unknown, the method can reconstruct the distance from each boundary point to the inclusion assuming that the Riemannian metric tensor determined by the wave speed gives simple geometry in M. The method is based on reconstruction of volumes of domains of influence by solving a sequence of linear equations. For τ ∈C(?M) the domain of influence M(τ) is the set of those points on the manifold from which the distance to some boundary point x is less than τ(x).  相似文献

Let n > 1 and let C n denote the complex n-dimensional Euclidean space. We prove several jet-interpolation results for nowhere degenerate entire mappings F:C nC n and for holomorphic automorphisms of C n on discrete subsets of C n.We also prove an interpolation theorem for proper holomorphic embeddings of Stein manifolds into C n.For each closed complex submanifold (or subvariety) M ⊂ C n of complex dimension m < n we construct a domain ΩC n containing M and a biholomorphic map F: Ω → C n onto C n with J F ≡ 1such that F(M) intersects the image of any nondegenerate entire map G:C n−mC n at infinitely many points. If m = n − 1, we construct F as above such that C nF(M) is hyperbolic. In particular, for each m ≥ 1we construct proper holomorphic embeddings F:C mC m−1 such that the complement C m+1F(C m )is hyperbolic.  相似文献

We study the boundedness of the H functional calculus for differential operators acting in L p (R n ; C N ). For constant coefficients, we give simple conditions on the symbols implying such boundedness. For non-constant coefficients, we extend our recent results for the L p theory of the Kato square root problem to the more general framework of Hodge-Dirac operators with variable coefficients Π B as treated in L 2(R n ; C N ) by Axelsson, Keith, and McIntosh. We obtain a characterization of the property that Π B has a bounded H functional calculus, in terms of randomized boundedness conditions of its resolvent. This allows us to deduce stability under small perturbations of this functional calculus.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for semilinear wave equations in with n?3. Making use of Bourgain's method in conjunction with the endpoint Strichartz estimates of Keel and Tao, we establish the Hs-global well-posedness with s<1 of the Cauchy problem for the semilinear wave equation. In doing so a number of nonlinear a priori estimates is established in the framework of Besov spaces. Our method can be easily applied to the case with n=3 to recover the result of Kenig-Ponce-Vega.  相似文献

The paper continues the work of Royster (Duke Math J 19:447–457, 1952), Mocanu [Mathematica (Cluj) 22(1):77–83, 1980; Mathematica (Cluj) 29:49–55, 1987], Cristea [Mathematica (Cluj) 36(2):137–144, 1994; Complex Var 42:333–345, 2000; Mathematica (Cluj) 43(1):23–34, 2001; Mathematica (Cluj), 2010, to appear; Teoria Topologica a Functiilor Analitice, Editura Universitatii Bucuresti, Romania, 1999] of extending univalence criteria for complex mappings to C 1 mappings. We improve now the method of Loewner chains which is usually used in complex univalence theory for proving univalence criteria or for proving quasiconformal extensions of holomorphic mappings f : BC n to C n . The results are surprisingly strong. We show that the usual results from the theory, like Becker’s univalence criteria remain true for C 1 mappings and since we use a stronger form of Loewner’s theory, we obtain results which are stronger even for holomorphic mappings f : BC n . In our main result (Theorem 4.1) we end the researches dedicated to quasiconformal extensions of K-quasiregular and holomorphic mappings f : BC n to C n . We show that a C 1 quasiconformal map f : BC n can be extended to a quasiconformal map F : C n C n , without any metric condition imposed to the map f.  相似文献

We consider the Dirichlet problem for non‐divergence parabolic equation with discontinuous in t coefficients in a half space. The main result is weighted coercive estimates of solutions in anisotropic Sobolev spaces. We give an application of this result to linear and quasi‐linear parabolic equations in a bounded domain. In particular, if the boundary is of class C1,δ , δ ∈ [0, 1], then we present a coercive estimate of solutions in weighted anisotropic Sobolev spaces, where the weight is a power of the distance to the boundary (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The paper is concerned with the doubling estimates and vanishing order of the Steklov eigenfunctions on the boundary of a smooth domain in ? n . The eigenfunction is given by a Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. We improve the doubling property shown by Bellova and Lin. Furthermore, we show that the optimal vanishing order of Steklov eigenfunction is everywhere less than Cλ where λ is the Steklov eigenvalue and C depends only on Ω.  相似文献

The proof is based on application of generalized Fourier transform for the perturbed Laplace operator and a finite dependence domain argument. We consider different types of processes obtained by composing Brownian motion B(t), fractional Brownian motion B H (t) and Cauchy processes C(t) in different manners. We study also multidimensional iterated processes in ? d , like, for example, (B 1(|C(t)|),…, B d (|C(t)|)) and (C 1(|C(t)|),…, C d (|C(t)|)), deriving the corresponding partial differential equations satisfied by their joint distribution. We show that many important partial differential equations, like wave equation, equation of vibration of rods, higher-order heat equation, are satisfied by the laws of the iterated processes considered in the work. Similarly, we prove that some processes like C(|B 1(|B 2(…|B n+1(t)|…)|)|) are governed by fractional diffusion equations.  相似文献

Abstract. Let G be a group of affine transformations of the plane R 2 and let the family F consist of all topological discs in R 2 whose boundary is subject to some smoothness condition (general, rectifiable, piecewise C 1 , piecewise C 2 ). Are any two members D,E ∈ F congruent by dissection with respect to G such that all the pieces in the corresponding dissections of D and E belong to F as well? We give an affirmative answer if G contains all affine transformations and F consists of the discs whose boundary is piecewise C 1 . An example shows that C 1 cannot be replaced by C 2 . Moreover, if G is either the group of equiaffine transformations or the group of similarities, then congruence by dissection of two convex discs D and E turns out to be essentially equivalent to congruence by dissection of the boundaries bd(D ) and bd(E ).  相似文献

We describe cohomologically trivial internal categories in the categoryC of groups with operations satisfying certain conditions ([15], [16]). As particular cases we obtain: ifC=Gr, H0(C, –)=0 iff C is a connected internal category; ifC=Ab,H 1(C, –)=0 iff C is equivalent to the discrete internal category (Cokerd, Cokerd, 1, 1, 1, 1). We also discuss related questions concerning extensions, internal categories, their cohomology and equivalence in the categoryC.  相似文献
