We consider the parametrized family of equations tt ,u- xx u-au+u 2 2 u=O,x(0,L), with Dirichlet boundary conditions. This equation has finite-dimensional invariant manifolds of solutions. Studying the reduced equation to a four-dimensional manifold, we prove the existence of transversal homoclinic orbits to periodic solutions and of invariant sets with chaotic dynamics, provided that =2, 3, 4,.... For =1 we prove the existence of infinitely many first integrals pairwise in involution.  相似文献

Transients in melt spinning of isothermal power law and Newtonian fluids were found to be governed by an extremely simple partial differential equation 2 ( 1/n )/() = 0 in Lagrangian coordinates where is the cross-sectional area,n the power law exponent, the time and the the time at which a fluid molecule constituting the spinline left the spinneret. The general integral 1/n =f() +g () of the above governing equation containing two arbitrary functions represents physically attainable spinline transients. Hitherto unknown analytical transient solutions of the above governing equation were obtained for the response of isothermal constant tension spinlines to a stepwise change in tension, spinneret hole area, extrusion speed or extrusion viscosity and for the starting transient in gravitational spinning. Linearized perturbation solutions and the stability limit of the spinline derived from the above new found nonlinear solutions were in agreement with previous findings and the above nonlinear response of the spinline to a step increase in the spinneret hole area was found to be equivalent to Orowan's tandem cylinder model of dent growth in filament stretching.  相似文献

The behavior of the neutral stability curves is investigated for various values of the particle relaxation time and mass concentration 0 100 and 0 f 0.1. It is shown that as increases from zero the flow is at first destabilized and then at >6 becomes stable, while at >40 the stabilizing effect of the dispersed phase grows weaker. The work describes a way to obtain loss modulus and storage modulus master curves from oscillatory measurements of silicone oils.The loss modulus master curve represents the dependence of the viscous flow behavior on · 0 * and the storage modulus master curve — the dependence of the elastic flow behavior on · 0 * .The relation between the values of the loss modulus and storage modulus master curves (at a certain frequency) is a measurement of the viscoelastic behavior of a system. The G/G-ratio depends on · 0 * which leads to a viscoelastic master curve. The viscoelastic master curve represents the relation between the elastic and viscous oscillatory flow behavior.  相似文献

This paper studies the generalized Lorenz canonical form of dynamical systems introduced by elikovský and Chen [International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos 12(8), 2002, 1789]. It proves the existence of a heteroclinic orbit of the canonical form and the convergence of the corresponding series expansion. The ilnikov criterion along with some technical conditions guarantee that the canonical form has Smale horseshoes and horseshoe chaos. As a consequence, it also proves that both the classical Lorenz system and the Chen system have ilnikov chaos. When the system is changed into another ordinary differential equation through a nonsingular one-parameter linear transformation, the exact range of existence of ilnikov chaos with respect to the parameter can be specified. Numerical simulation verifies the theoretical results and analysis.  相似文献

We examine the case when equally sized small moons arrange themselves on the vertices of a regular n-gon for n 7. For n 4, there are at least 3 pure imaginary characteristic exponents, each of which has multiplicity = 1, a surprising result that makes it possible to apply the Lyapunov center theorem to verify the existence of some periodic perturbations. For sufficiently large n, when the regular n-gon is the unique central configuration, the number of families of periodic perturbations is at least equal to 2n – (n + 1)/4, where x is the greatest integer less than or equal to x.  相似文献

Since the temperature is not an additive function, the traditional thermodynamic point of view suggests that the volume integral of the temperature has no precise physical meaning. This observation conflicts with the customary analysis of non-isothermal catalytic reactors, heat pipes, driers, geothermal processes, etc., in which the volume averaged temperature plays a crucial role. In this paper we identify the thermodynamic significance of the volume averaged temperature in terms of a simple two-phase heat transfer process. Given the internal energy as a function of the point temperature and the density
we show that the volume averaged internal energy is represented by e = F(T , )when e is a linear function of T and , or when the traditional length-scale constraints associated with the method of volume averaging are satisfied. When these conditions are not met, higher order terms involving the temperature gradient and the density gradient appear in the representation for e .  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Für die eingefrorene laminare Grenzschichtströmung eines teilweise dissoziierten binären Gemisches entlang einer stark gekühlten ebenen Platte wird eine analytische Näherungslösung angegeben. Danach läßt sich die Wandkonzentration als universelle Funktion der Damköhler-Zahl der Oberflächenreaktion angeben. Für das analytisch darstellbare Konzentrationsprofil stellt die Damköhler-Zahl den Formparameter dar. Die Wärmestromdichte an der Wand bestehend aus einem Wärmeleitungs- und einem Diffusionsanteil wird angegeben und diskutiert. Das Verhältnis beider Anteile läßt sich bei gegebenen Randbedingungen als Funktion der Damköhler-Zahl ausdrücken.
An analytical approximation for the frozen laminar boundary layer flow of a binary mixture
An analytical approximation is derived for the frozen laminar boundary layer flow of a partially dissociated binary mixture along a strongly cooled flat plate. The concentration at the wall is shown to be a universal function of the Damkohler-number for the wall reaction. The Damkohlernumber also serves as a parameter of shape for the concentration profile which is presented in analytical form. The heat transfer at the wall depending on a conduction and a diffusion flux is derived and discussed. The ratio of these fluxes is expressed as a function of the Damkohler-number if the boundary conditions are known.

Nonlinear wave processes in shockloaded elastoplastic materials are modeled. A comparison of the results obtained with experimental data and numerical solutions of exact systems of dynamic equations shows that the model equations proposed qualitatively describe the stressdistribution evolution in both the elasticflow and plasticflow regions and can be used to solve one and twodimensional problems of pulsed deformation and fracture of elastoplastic media.  相似文献

An unsteady viscous shock layer near a stagnation point is studied. The Navier-Stokes equations are analyzed in the limit 1, Re0 , df/dt = n-mF(t/m). The Reynolds number Re0 is defined in the paper by Eq. (1.3) (df/dt is the velocity of the body with respect to an inertial frame of reference moving with the original steady velocity –V't8, 2 = ( – 1)/( + 1)). Various flow regimes in the case 1, l, n max(2m, m + 1), m 0, where 2 = 1/Re0 are analyzed. Equations are derived that generalize the asymptotic analysis to the case of a viscous unsteady flow of gas in a thin three-dimensional shock layer. The problem of a thin unsteady viscous shock layer near the stagnation point of a body with two curvatures is formulated. We study semilinear elliptic equationsu + cu x =f(u,u) and 2 u + cu x =f(u,u, 2 u) in infinite cylinders (x,y) × n+1 using methods from dynamical systems theory. We construct invariant manifolds, which contain the set of bounded solutions and then study a singular limitc, where the equations change type from elliptic to parabolic. In particular we show that on the invariant manifolds, the elliptic equation generates a smooth dynamical system, which converges to the dynamical system generated by the parabolic limit equation. Our results imply the existence of fast traveling waves for equations like a viscous reactive 2d-Burgers equation or the Cahn-Hillard equation in infinite strips.  相似文献

The deformation of particle image patterns due to velocity gradients causes errors of velocity measurements and false velocity detections in PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry). A novel technique to overcome those limitations inherent in the conventional PIV by correcting the particle image pattern according to the local velocity gradients in two dimensional flows, i.e. u/x, u/y, v/x and v/y, is proposed and successfully applied to a water flow downstream of a backward facing step.  相似文献

The qualitative behavior of solutions of the mixed problem utt = u-a(x)ut in IR x , u=0 on IR x , is studied in the case when a>0 and IRn is bounded. Roughly speaking, if aamin>0, then solutions decay at least as fast as exp t( –1/2amin), with the possible exception of a finite dimensional set of smooth solutions whose existence is associated with a phenomenon of overdamping. In this paper, we show that the maximum principle holds for quasilinear elliptic equations with quadratic growth under general structure conditions.Two typical particular cases of our results are the following. On one hand, we prove that the equation (1) {ie77-01} where {ie77-02} and {ie77-03} satisfies the maximum principle for solutions in H 1()L(), i.e., that two solutions u 1, u 2H1() L() of (1) such that u 1u2 on , satisfy u 1u2 in .
