We derive design principles for the assembly of rectangular tetramines into Zn8L6 pseudo-cubic coordination cages. Because of the rectangular, as opposed to square, geometry of the ligand panels, and the possibility of either Δ or Λ handedness of each metal center at the eight corners of the pseudo-cube, many different cage diastereomers are possible. Each of the six tetra-aniline subcomponents investigated in this work assembled with zinc(II) and 2-formylpyridine in acetonitrile into a single Zn8L6 pseudo-cube diastereomer, however. Each product corresponded to one of four diastereomeric configurations, with T, Th, S6 or D3 symmetry. The preferred diastereomer for a given tetra-aniline subcomponent was shown to be dependent on its aspect ratio and conformational flexibility. Analysis of computationally modeled individual faces or whole pseudo-cubes provided insight as to why the observed diastereomers were favored.  相似文献

A strategy to engineer the stacking of diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) dyes based on non-statistical metallosupramolecular self-assembly is introduced. For this, the DPP backbone is equipped with nitrogen-based donors that allow for different discrete assemblies to be formed upon the addition of Pd(II), distinguished by the number of π-stacked chromophores. A Pd3L6 three-ring, a heteroleptic Pd2L2L′2 ravel composed of two crossing DPPs (flanked by two carbazoles), and two unprecedented self-penetrated motifs (a Pd2L3 triple and a Pd2L4 quadruple stack), were obtained and systematically investigated. With increasing counts of stacked chromophores, UV/Vis absorptions red-shift and emission intensities decrease, except for compound Pd2L2L′2, which stands out with an exceptional photoluminescence quantum yield of 51 %. This is extraordinary for open-shell metal containing assemblies and explainable by an intra-assembly FRET process. The modular design and synthesis of soluble multi-chromophore building blocks offers the potential for the preparation of nanodevices and materials with applications in sensing, photo-redox catalysis and optics.  相似文献

Enzymes facilitate chemical conversions through the collective activity of aggregated components, but the marriage of aggregation-induced emission (AIE) with molecular containers to emulate enzymatic conversion remains challenging. Herein, we report a new approach to construct a PtII-based octahedral cage with AIE characteristics for the photocyclization of alkynylaniline by restricting the rotation of the pendant phenyl rings peripheral to the PtII corner. With the presence of water, the C−H⋅⋅⋅π interactions involving the triphenylphosphine fragments resulted in aggregation of the molecular cages into spherical particles and significantly enhanced the PtII-based luminescence. The kinetically inert Pt-NP chelator, with highly differentiated redox potentials in the ground and excited states, and the efficient coordination activation of the platinum corner facilitated excellent catalysis of the photocyclization of alkynylaniline. The enzymatic kinetics and the advantages of binding and activating substrates in an aqueous medium provide a new avenue to develop mimics for efficient photosynthesis.  相似文献

Photocatalytic synthesis of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a potential clean method, but the long distance between the oxidation and reduction sites in photocatalysts hinders the rapid transfer of photogenerated charges, limiting the improvement of its performance. Here, a metal-organic cage photocatalyst, Co14(L−CH3)24 , is constructed by directly coordinating metal sites (Co sites) used for the O2 reduction reaction (ORR) with non-metallic sites (imidazole sites of ligands) used for the H2O oxidation reaction (WOR), which shortens the transport path of photogenerated electrons and holes, and improves the transport efficiency of charges and activity of the photocatalyst. Therefore, it can be used as an efficient photocatalyst with a rate of as high as 146.6 μmol g−1 h−1 for H2O2 production under O2-saturated pure water without sacrificial agents. Significantly, the combination of photocatalytic experiments and theoretical calculations proves that the functionalized modification of ligands is more conducive to adsorbing key intermediates (*OH for WOR and *HOOH for ORR), resulting in better performance. This work proposed a new catalytic strategy for the first time; i.e., to build a synergistic metal-nonmetal active site in the crystalline catalyst and use the host–guest chemistry inherent in the metal-organic cage (MOC)to increase the contact between the substrate and the catalytically active site, and finally achieve efficient photocatalytic H2O2 synthesis.  相似文献

A water-soluble coordination cage was obtained by reaction of Pd(NO3)2 with a 1,3-di(pyridin-3-yl)benzene ligand featuring a short PEG chain. The cavity of the metal-organic cage contains one nitrate anion, which is readily replaced by chloride. The apparent association constant for chloride binding in buffered aqueous solution is Ka=1.8(±0.1)×105 M−1. This value is significantly higher than what has been reported for other macrocyclic chloride receptors. The heavier halides Br and I compete with binding or self-assembly, but the receptor displays very good selectivity over common anions such as phosphate, acetate, carbonate, and sulfate. A further increase of the chloride binding affinity by a factor of 3 was achieved using a fluorinated dipyridyl ligand.  相似文献

A fully encapsulated Pt 4 tetrahedron in an incomplete tetrahedron of 36 nickel atoms is present in [Ni36Pt4(CO)45]6− ( 1 ; see picture for the metal framework), which is obtained as an inseparable mixture with [Ni37Pt4(CO)46]6− ( 2 ) by reaction of [Ni6(CO)12]2− with K2[PtCl4]. The trimethylbenzylammonium salts of 1 and 2 cocrystallize in a 1:1 ratio. The additional Ni atom of 2 caps the truncated vertex of 1 .  相似文献

The results of low temperature X‐ray determination, Mössbauer and magnetic measurement of spin‐crossover (isothiocyanato)(porphinato)iron(III) hemipyridine are reported. The features in 77 K Mössbauer spectrum include two doublets, one with a quadrupole splitting (ΔEQ) of 1.961 mm s?1 (low‐spin site) and the other with ΔEQ = 0.792 mm s?1 (high‐spin site). As the temperature of the sample is increased to 300 K, the signal intensity of the high‐spin site grows to 92% at the expense of the low‐spin signal. The variable‐temperature magnetic susceptibility data also support that the tetraphenyl complex is a spin‐crossover complex.  相似文献

For SPME-HPLC, metal wires with better mechanical strength are preferred over the fused silica fibers. In this article, a novel composite polyaniline (CPANI) doped with PEG and polydimethylsiloxane coating (CPANI fiber) was prepared on a stainless steel wire by a three-electrode system: the fiber was used as the work electrode, a calomel electrode and a platinum electrode were used as the reference and the counter electrodes, respectively. To evaluate the new CPANI coating, the coating was used to extract three kinds of phenols (bisphenol A, 4-n-nonylphenol, and 4-tert-octylphenol) in water samples by direct-SPME mode and then desorbed in commercial SPME-HPLC interface to separation. The extraction procedure was also optimized. Five real water samples were investigated. Good recoveries were gained when environmental samples were analyzed.  相似文献
