This paper describes the development and performance of a wideband dual linear polarization microstrip antenna array used in the Danish high-resolution airborne multifrequency polarimetric synthetic aperture radar, EMISAR. The antenna was designed for an operating frequency of 1.25 GHz±50 MHz and was built as an array of 8×2 probe-fed stacked microstrip patches. The feeding network is constructed in microstrip and is capable of handling 6 kW of peak input-power at an altitude of 45000 ft (unpressurized). The impedance bandwidth (return loss better than -14 dB) of the antenna is 10%, the isolation between the horizontal and the vertical ports of the array is 50 dB and the cross-polarization suppression is 40 dB. A miniaturized multiband monopole antenna based on rectangular-shaped Complementary Split Ring Resonators (CSRRs) with offset-fed microstrip line is proposed for Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) applications. The proposed antenna is fabricated on a FR-4 substrate having a dielectric constant (ɛr) of 4.4 within a small size of 19.18 × 22.64 × 1.6 mm3. CSRRs in the monopole antenna create a multiband characteristics and bandwidth improvement, which is analyzed by use of the precise quasi-static design equations and electromagnetic simulation software (HFSS version 13). By selecting a proper offset-fed microstrip line, it is capable to achieve 50 Ω characteristic impedance and good impedance matching. The parameter extraction procedure of the metamaterial property of the CSRRs is enlightened in detail, by which the negative permittivity existence and the new resonance frequencies are verified. Simulated and measured result coincides with each other. The measured H-Plane (azimuthal plane) exhibits omnidirectional radiation pattern and E-plane (elevation plane) shows a dipole like bidirectional radiation pattern. The proposed antenna has adequate advantages, including simple design, small size, lower return loss and capable of multiband operations.  相似文献

A dual band inset fed rectangular patch antenna array has been proposed for intelligent transportation system (ITS) application. This paper proposes 8–element patch array antenna with defected ground structure (DGS). The simulated results of 2, 4 and 8 element patch with and without DGS are also compared. Proposed antenna gets dual band of 5.02 GHz and 5.92 GHz centre frequency with DGS. The 8–element patch array antenna with DGS is fabricated and its result is compared with simulation result. 26.5 dBi and 24.9 dBi is measured gain of the proposed antenna structure for 5.02 GHz and 5.92 GHz centre frequency respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel polarization and frequency reconfigurable microstrip patch antenna which can switch between vertical and horizontal linear polarizations, left hand and right hand circular polarizations at two WLAN frequencies is presented. The orthogonal linear polarizations are achieved by a square microstrip patch antenna fed by two ports on adjacent sides. By introducing corner truncated perturbation on opposite corners of right diagonal of a square patch, orthogonal circular polarizations are achieved. By controlling the bias voltage of two PIN diodes loaded at perturbed corners, a single structure can achieve quad polarization states. Furthermore, by superimposing a square ring slot into the corner truncated square patch and incorporating four PIN diodes into the square ring slot, quad polarization are achieved at dual frequencies. Simulated and measured results indicate that the antenna can achieve quad polarization at two WLAN bands (5.15–5.35 GHz) and (5.75–5.85 GHz). The proposed antenna is simple, has low profile and can be scaled easily for other frequencies.  相似文献

一种新型阵列天线采用多层印制板形式、通过寄生贴片加多级阻抗匹配实现了宽频带工作,对矩形贴片相互垂直的两条边采用"H"缝耦合及微带线边馈实现了双极化。实验结果表明,双层带线馈电网络很大程度上解决了馈电网络间耦合问题,提高了端口隔离度。天线带宽约26.5%,实测增益19 d B左右,隔离度大于37 d B。该天线剖面低、质量小,可作为单元组成更大规模的阵列。  相似文献

We propose a design of lowpass filter (LPF) using modified rectangular split ring resonator (SRR) that acts as a unit cell of metamaterials. Initially, a conventional LPF of 4.5 GHz is designed and the low impedance line is replaced to produce a sharp cut-off with a modified SRR structure. A brief parametric study is done to establish a relationship between the inner perimeter of the SRR to the cut-off frequency of the proposed LPF. Same study is also done for the outer perimeter. Using this relationship, another LPF of 2.4-GHz cut-off frequency is obtained. Defected ground structures (DGS) and microstrip structures (DMS) are incorporated with the 2.4-GHz LPF structure for the removal of harmonics and better pass-band characteristics. The IE3D simulation results and the circuit simulation results are in good agreement with the measured results. The obtained structure can thus be used for several useful applications such as in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cordless phones, computers, and other wireless communication devices.  相似文献

Two highly compact tunable stopband filters using microstrip transmission lines coupled with split ring resonators (SRRs) and varactor diodes are presented. Frequency or bandwidth tuning capability of each device is demonstrated. The frequency tunable filter, realized by a single stage, shows a wide tuning range of 19.8% with a maximum bandwidth of 5% and an insertion loss of approximately 20 dB at 4 GHz. The bandwidth tunable filter, realized by double stages, shows a 10-dB bandwidth of 19–34% with a biasing voltage of 0–10 V. The implemented frequency tuning and bandwidth tuning devices show a significant area reduction of 60.1% and 53.5%, respectively, in comparison with a similar frequency or bandwidth tunable structure presented by others. Equivalent circuit models are presented. The measured S-parameters are in good agreement with simulated ones.  相似文献

介绍了一种新型的Ku频段宽带高增益双极化微带贴片单元及96元阵列的设计。设计中单元采用层叠贴片天线结构,提高了单元的带宽和增益,两个极化端口采用分层馈电,其中水平极化端口采用共面馈电,垂直极化端口采用探针背馈。在馈电网络的设计中引入反向馈电技术,降低了交叉极化。仿真与实测结果表明:该阵列增益达到了26 dBi,口径效率约为51%,交叉极化电平小于-30 dB,水平极化端口相对阻抗带宽达11.3%,垂直极化端口相对阻抗带宽达13.7%,两端口隔离度高于40 dB.  相似文献

提出一种由微带反射阵实现的新型变极化天线,它区别于双/多极化天线的固定极化状态.实现变极化的关键是经特殊设计的反射阵阵元结构尺寸和线极化辐射的馈源.理论分析表明:反射极化可涵盖所有极化状态;采用间以空气层的双/多层阵元结构能有效展宽频带;增加阵元数目可提高天线增益.鉴于这些特点,该类天线在雷达、移动通信等领域具有潜在工程应用.还给出了完整的理论分析和实例佐证.  相似文献

设计了一种新型基于哑铃型光子带隙(PBG)的宽带高增益E形贴片天线.实现X波段天线单元38.2%的阻抗带宽(VSWR<2)且频带内增益提高1-2.5 dB.将PBG结构应用于天线阵列,实现了全频带增益的提高,且单元端口互耦隔离度最大可提高5 dB.仿真和实测结果有好的一致性.  相似文献

An electromagnetic band gap (EBG) coupled miniaturized tri-notched printed ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole microstrip antenna having dimensions of 22 mm × 26 mm × 1.6 mm loaded with a slot in radiating patch and a parasitic strip in the ground plane has been presented. The proposed structure incorporates a square-shaped metallic radiating patch with a square EBG structure adjacent to the microstrip feed line, a U-shaped meandered slot over the radiating element, and a U-shaped parasitic resonator at the ground plane beneath the radiating element, to reject the C-band satellite downlink (3.7 to 4.2 GHz), WLAN frequency band (5.15 to 5.85 GHz), and X-band satellite downlink (7.25 to 7.75 GHz) frequency bands, respectively. The designed antenna operates in the frequency range from 3 to 11.1 GHz, with an impedance bandwidth of 8.1 GHz and a percentage bandwidth of 114%. Modification steps incorporating into the reference antenna to achieve the desired design objectives have been discussed, along with parametric studies. The proposed design has been simulated using Ansys HFSS, and measurement has been taken using standard measurement technique and compared with the simulated results.  相似文献

High-selectivity single-ended and balanced bandpass filters (BPFs) using dual-mode ring resonators and coupled lines loaded with multiple stubs are proposed in this paper. With the help of the loaded short-circuited and open-circuited stubs, six deep transmission zeros (TZs) from 0 to 2f0 (f0: center frequency of the passband) can be realized in both of single-ended and balanced BPFs to improve the stopband suppressions. The functions of the loaded short/open stubs and calculated analysis of TZs’ positions have been presented. For further demonstration, two examples of single-ended BPF and balanced BPF with high common-mode suppression are designed and fabricated, whose center frequencies are both at 2.1 GHz. Their measured 3-dB fractional bandwidths are 23.7% and 24.7% (differential-mode), respectively. The simulated results and measurements of these two filters are in good agreement.  相似文献

In this article, an Ultra Wide Band (UWB) monopole antenna based on Metamaterial (MTM) unit cell with reconfigurable feature has been developed. The proposed antenna covers 3.1–10.6 GHz for UWB applications and it has a reconfigurable narrow-band for L-band (1.27 GHz) and wireless applications. The gaps in Split Rings Resonator (SRR) element are made for the Left-hand capacitance and Ω-shape strip layer by four via junctions are used for Left-hand inductance. The antenna is printed on FR-4 low cost substrate with relative permittivity of 4.4 and thickness of 1.6 mm. The total size of the antenna is 40 mm × 40 mm. The simulation is carried out using HFSS commercial full-wave software. In addition, the experimental results are presented and compared with simulated results. The antenna gives a maximum peak gain of 6 dBi with Omni-Directional radiation pattern and high efficiency of more than 70%. By embedding four switches in Ω-shape strip layer, a reconfigurable antenna has been successfully designed for wireless applications with sufficient qualification. The monopole part covers the UWB spectrum and the CRLH is responsible for the controllable narrowband resonance. The simulation and experimental results are confirmed by the numerical results.  相似文献
