We prove a q-analogue of the row and column removal theorems for homomorphisms between Specht modules proved by Fayers and the first author [16]. These results can be considered as complements to James and Donkin’s row and column removal theorems for decomposition numbers of the symmetric and general linear groups. In this paper we consider homomorphisms between the Specht modules of the Hecke algebras of type A and between the Weyl modules of the q-Schur algebra.This research was supported by ARC grant DP0343023. We consider the class of ?p -modules with partial decomposition bases. This class was developed in order to extend Barwise and Eklof's classification of torsion groups in L ∞ω to Warfield modules. We prove that this class is the natural generalization of Warfield modules in L ∞ω, is strictly larger than the class of Warfield modules, and in fact strictly larger than the class of modules partially isomorphic to Warfield modules. We prove that this class is identical to the class of k-modules of Hill and Megibben, and, as such, closed under direct summands.  相似文献

We give explicit presentations by generators and relations of certain generalized Schur algebras (associated with tensor powers of the natural representation) in types B, C, D. This extends previous results in type A obtained by two of the authors. The presentation is compatible with the Serre presentation of the corresponding universal enveloping algebra. In types C, D this gives a presentation of the corresponding classical Schur algebra (the image of the representation on a tensor power) since the classical Schur algebra coincides with the generalized Schur algebra in those types. This coincidence between the generalized and classical Schur algebra fails in type B, in general.  相似文献

In this paper we use the Hecke algebra of type B to define anew algebra S which is an analogue of the q-Schur algebra. Weshow that S has ‘generic’ basis which is independentof the choice of ring and the parameters q and Q. The class of abelian groups with partial decomposition bases was developed by the first author in order to generalize Barwise and Eklof's classification of torsion groups in L∞ω. In this article, we continue to explore algebraic characteristics of this class and establish a uniqueness theorem, extending our previous work on mixed p-local groups to the global case. It is shown that groups with partial decomposition bases are characterized in terms of Warfield groups and k-groups of Hill and Megibben. In fact, we prove that the class of groups with partial decomposition bases is identical to the class of k-groups, and, as such, closed under direct summands, and that every finitely generated subgroup of a k-group is locally nice. Also, we introduce and explore subgroups possessing a partial subbasis. As an application, it is shown that isotype k-subgroups of abelian groups are k-groups.  相似文献

单输入单输出线性定常系统的状态空间按能控性和能观测性进行结构分解,能全面、完整的反映系统的各个子系统特性,理论上揭示状态空间的本质特征.通过规范性分解,不完全能控和不完全能观测的连续时间线性时不变系统可分解为"能控能观测","能控不能观测","不能控能观测","不能控不能观测"四个子空间,但是其分解后子空间的维度受非奇异变换矩阵P_c的影响.提出了一种约束变量的方法,用来选取P_c中列向量的规则,以控制原系统分解后子空间的表现形式.经实例验算,方法简单有效,具有一定的教学和理论意义.  相似文献

A color pattern is a graph whose edges have been partitioned into color classes. A family of color patterns is a Ramsey family provided there is some sufficiently large integer N such that in any edge coloring of the complete graph KN there is an (isomorphic) copy of at least one of the patterns from . The smallest such N is the Ramsey number of the family . The classical Canonical Ramsey theorem of Erds and Rado asserts that the family of color patterns is a Ramsey family if it consists of monochromatic, rainbow (totally multicolored) and lexically colored complete graphs. In this paper we treat the asymmetric case by studying the Ramsey number of families containing a rainbow triangle, a lexically colored complete graph and a fixed arbitrary monochromatic graph. In particular we give asymptotically tight bounds for the Ramsey number of a family consisting of rainbow and monochromatic triangle and a lexically colored KN. Among others, we prove some canonical Ramsey results for cycles.  相似文献

We consider the natural Lie algebra structure on the (associative) group algebra of a finite group G, and show that the Lie subalgebras associated to natural involutive antiautomorphisms of this group algebra are reductive ones. We study the relation between the cohomology of general linear and symmetric groups and their respective quantizations, using Schur algebras and standard homological techniques to build appropriate spectral sequences. As our methods fit inside a much more general context within the theory of finite-dimensional algebras, we develop our results first in that general setting, and then specialize to the above situations. From this we obtain new proofs of several known results in modular representation theory of symmetric groups. Moreover, we reduce certain questions about computing extensions for symmetric groups and Hecke algebras to questions about extensions for general linear groups and their quantizations.  相似文献

Let (l) and n be positive integers such that l ≥ n,and let Gn,l be the Grassmannian which consists of the set of n-dimensional subspaces of Cl.There is a Z-graded algebra isomorphism between the cohomology H*(Gn,l,Z) of Gn,l and a nat-ural Z-form B of the Z-graded basic algebra of the type A cyclotomic nilHecke algebra(H)(0) =<ψ1,… ψn-1,y1,…,yn>.We show that the isomorphism can be chosen such that the image of each (geometrically defined) Schubert class (a1,...,an) coincides with the basis element bλ constructed by Hu and Liang by purely algebraic method,where 0 ≤ a1 ≤ a2 ≤ … ≤ an ≤ l-n with ai ∈ Z for each i,and λ is the l-multipartition of n associated to (l + 1-(an + n),l + 1-(an-1 + n-1),...,l + 1-(a1 + 1)).A similar correspondence between the Schubert class basis of the cohomology of the Grassmanni-an Gl-n,l and the bλ's basis (λ is an l-multipartition of n with each component being either (1) or empty) of the natural Z-form B of the Z-graded basic algebra of (H)(0)l,n is also obtained.As an application,we obtain a second version of the Giambelli formula for Schubert classes.  相似文献
