In the present article a, semilinear scale‐invariant wave equation with damping and mass is considered. The global (in time) existence of radial symmetric solutions in even spatial dimension n is proved by using weighted L ? L estimates, under the assumption that the multiplicative constants, which appear in the coefficients of damping and of mass terms, fulfill an interplay condition, which yields somehow a “wave‐like” model. In particular, combining this existence result with a recently proved blow‐up result, a suitable shift of Strauss exponent is proved to be the critical exponent for the considered model. Moreover, the still open part of a conjecture done by D'Abbicco‐Lucente‐Reissig is proved to be true in the massless case.  相似文献

This article deals with local existence of strong solutions for semilinear wave equations with power-like interior damping and source terms. A long-standing restriction on the range of exponents for the two nonlinearities governs the literature on wellposedness of weak solutions of finite energy. We show that this restriction may be eliminated for the existence of higher regularity solutions by employing natural methods that use the physics of the problem. This approach applies to the Cauchy problem posed on the entire ? n as well as for initial boundary problems with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions.  相似文献

We obtain some new Kamenev-type oscillation theorems for the second order semilinear elliptic differential equation with damping N ∑i,j=1Di[aij(x)Djy]+N∑i=1bi(x)Diy+c(x)f(y)=0 under quite general assumptions. These results are extensions of the recent results of Sun [Sun, Y. G.: New Kamenev-type oscillation criteria of second order nonlinear differential equations with damping. J. Math. Anal. Appl., 291, 341-351 (2004)] in a natural way. In particular, we do not impose any additional conditions on the damped functions bi (x) except the continuity. We shall derive some global existence results to semilinear wave equations with a damping coefficient localized near infinity for very special initial data in H×L2. This problem is dealt with in the two‐dimensional exterior domain with a star‐shaped complement. A semilinear wave equation with slowly varying wave speed is considered in one to three space dimensions on a bounded interval, a rectangle or a box, respectively. It is shown that the action, which is the harmonic energy divided by the wave speed and multiplied with the diameter of the spatial domain, is an adiabatic invariant: it remains nearly conserved over long times, longer than any fixed power of the time scale of changes in the wave speed in the case of one space dimension, and longer than can be attained by standard perturbation arguments in the two- and three-dimensional cases. The long-time near-conservation of the action yields long-time existence of the solution. The proofs use modulated Fourier expansions in time.  相似文献

In this article, we study the blow‐up of the damped wave equation in the scale‐invariant case and in the presence of two nonlinearities. More precisely, we consider the following equation: u t t ? Δ u + μ 1 + t u t = | u t | p + | u | q , in ? N × [ 0 , ) , with small initial data. For μ < N ( q ? 1 ) 2 and μ ∈ (0, μ?) , where μ? > 0 is depending on the nonlinearties' powers and the space dimension (μ? satisfies ( q ? 1 ) ( N + 2 μ ? ? 1 ) p ? 2 = 4 ), we prove that the wave equation, in this case, behaves like the one without dissipation (μ = 0 ). Our result completes the previous studies in the case where the dissipation is given by μ ( 1 + t ) β u t ; β > 1 , where, contrary to what we obtain in the present work, the effect of the damping is not significant in the dynamics. Interestingly, in our case, the influence of the damping term μ 1 + t u t is important.  相似文献

We study the Cauchy problem for the semilinear structural damped wave equation with source term with σ ∈ (0,1] in space dimension n ≥ 2 and with a positive constant μ. We are interested in the influence of σ on the critical exponent pcrit in | f(u) | ≈ | u | p. This critical exponent is the threshold between global existence in time of small data solutions and blow‐up behavior for some suitable range of p. Our results are optimal for σ = 1 ∕ 2. The paper is concerned with the semilinear wave equations with time‐dependent damping γ(t)=α/(1+t)  (α>0), under the effect of nonlinear source f behaving like a polynomial, and subject to Neumann boundary conditions. Constructing appropriate auxiliary functions, we obtain an explicit uniform decay rate estimate for the solutions of the equation in terms of the exponent of f, when α is large enough. On the other hand, via a new hyperbolic version of Dirichlet quotients, we show that the upper estimate is optimal in some case, which implies the existence of slow solutions.  相似文献

In this work, we consider a nonlinear coupled wave equations with initial‐boundary value conditions and nonlinear damping and source terms. Under suitable assumptions on the damping terms and source terms and initial data in the stable set, we obtain that the decay estimates of the energy function is exponential or polynomial by using Nakao's method. We consider two dimensional exterior mixed problems for a semilinear damped wave equation with a power type nonlinearity p|u|. For compactly supported initial data, which have a small energy we shall derive global in time existence results in the case when the power of the nonlinearity satisfies 2<p<+∞. This paper is concerned with the initial value problem for semilinear systems of wave equations. First we show a global existence result for small amplitude solutions to the systems. Then we study asymptotic behavior of the global solution. We underline that ``modified' free profiles are obtained for all global solutions to the systems even in the case where the free profile might not exist. Moreover, we prove non–existence of any free profiles for the global solution in some cases where the effect of the nonlinearity is strong enough. In this paper we consider the non‐linear wave equation a,b>0, associated with initial and Dirichlet boundary conditions. We prove, under suitable conditions on α,β,m,p and for negative initial energy, a global non‐existence theorem. This improves a result by Yang (Math. Meth. Appl. Sci. 2002; 25 :825–833), who requires that the initial energy be sufficiently negative and relates the global non‐existence of solutions to the size of Ω. In this paper, we established the blow up theorem for critical semilinear wave equations with focusing nonlinear term on Schwarzschild spacetime. Concavity method is used to prove the main result, which was introduced by Levine–Payne in the papers Levine and Payne (1974)  and  and Levine (1973) [7] in 1970s. Also, a new auxiliary function with parameter ββ is constructed following the idea from Payne (1975) [13], in order to guarantee that the result holds without any assumption on the initial data and initial energy.  相似文献

We study the convergence to equilibria, as time tends to infinity, of trajectories of dissipative wave systems with time‐dependent velocity feedbacks and subject to nonlinear potential energies. Estimates for the speed of convergence are obtained in terms of the damping coefficient and the ?ojasiewicz–Simon exponent. We allow for both restoring and amplifying effects of exterior forces, which makes our results possess wide applicability. As an example of application, we show that the trajectories of a sine‐Gordon system, with nonautonomous damping, approach equilibria at least polynomially.
