We study the large time behavior of viscosity solutions of Hamilton–Jacobi equations with periodic boundary data on bounded domains. We establish a result on convergence of viscosity solutions to state constraint asymptotic solutions or periodic asymptotic solutions depending on the sign of critical value as time goes to infinity.  相似文献

In this article, we discuss a scheme for dealing with Neumann and mixed boundary conditions using a compact stencil. The resulting compact algorithm for solving systems of nonlinear reaction‐diffusion equations is fourth‐order accurate in both the temporal and spatial dimensions. We also prove that the standard second‐order approximation to zero Neumann boundary conditions provides fourth‐order accuracy when the nonlinear reaction term is independent of the spatial variables. Numerical examples, including an application of this algorithm to a mathematical model describing frontal polymerization process, are presented in the article to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the scheme. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A usual way of approximating Hamilton–Jacobi equations is to couple space finite element discretization with time finite difference discretization. This classical approach leads to a severe restriction on the time step size for the scheme to be monotone. In this paper, we couple the finite element method with the nonstandard finite difference method, which is based on Mickens' rule of nonlocal approximation. The scheme obtained in this way is unconditionally monotone. The convergence of the new method is discussed and numerical results that support the theory are provided. Solvability of Cauchy's problem in for fractional Hamilton–Jacobi equation (1.1) with subcritical nonlinearity is studied here both in the classical Sobolev spaces and in the locally uniform spaces. The first part of the paper is devoted to the global in time solvability of subcritical equation (1.1) in locally uniform phase space, a generalization of the standard Sobolev spaces. Subcritical growth of the nonlinear term with respect to the gradient is considered. We prove next the global in time solvability in classical Sobolev spaces, in Hilbert case. Regularization effect is used there to guarantee global in time extendibility of the local solution. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new scheme that combines weighted essentially non‐oscillatory (WENO) procedures together with monotone upwind schemes to approximate the viscosity solution of the Hamilton–Jacobi equations. In one‐dimensional (1D) case, first, we obtain an optimum polynomial on a four‐point stencil. This optimum polynomial is third‐order accurate in regions of smoothness. Next, we modify a second‐order ENO polynomial by choosing an additional point inside the stencil in order to obtain the highest accuracy when combined with the Harten–Osher reconstruction‐evolution method limiter. Finally, the optimum polynomial is considered as a symmetric and convex combination of three polynomials with ideal weights. Following the methodology of the classic WENO procedure, then, we calculate the non‐oscillatory weights with the ideal weights. Numerical experiments in 1D and 2D are performed to compare the capability of the hybrid scheme to WENO schemes. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this research, a class of radial basis functions (RBFs) ENO/WENO schemes with a Lax–Wendroff time discretization procedure, named as RENO/RWENO‐LW, for solving Hamilton–Jacobi (H–J) equations is designed. Particularly the multi‐quadratic RBFs are used. These schemes enhance the local accuracy and convergence by locally optimizing the shape parameters. Comparing with the original WENO with Lax–Wendroff time discretization schemes of Qiu for HJ equations, the new schemes provide more accurate reconstructions and sharper solution profiles near strong discontinuous derivative. Also, the RENO/RWENO‐LW schemes are easy to implement in the existing original ENO/WENO code. Extensive numerical experiments are considered to verify the capability of the new schemes.  相似文献

We prove a general convergence result for singular perturbations with an arbitrary number of scales of fully nonlinear degenerate parabolic PDEs. As a special case we cover the iterated homogenization for such equations with oscillating initial data. Explicit examples, among others, are the two-scale homogenization of quasilinear equations driven by a general hypoelliptic operator and the n-scale homogenization of uniformly parabolic fully nonlinear PDEs.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with fast spectral-Galerkin Jacobi algorithms for solving one- and two-dimensional elliptic equations with homogeneous and nonhomogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. The paper extends the algorithms proposed by Shen (SIAM J Sci Comput 15:1489–1505, 1994) and Auteri et al. (J Comput Phys 185:427–444, 2003), based on Legendre polynomials, to Jacobi polynomials with arbitrary α and β. The key to the efficiency of our algorithms is to construct appropriate basis functions with zero slope at the endpoints, which lead to systems with sparse matrices for the discrete variational formulations. The direct solution algorithm developed for the homogeneous Neumann problem in two-dimensions relies upon a tensor product process. Nonhomogeneous Neumann data are accounted for by means of a lifting. Numerical results indicating the high accuracy and effectiveness of these algorithms are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, a class of weighted essentially non-oscillatory (WENO) schemes with a Lax–Wendroff time discretization procedure, termed WENO-LW schemes, for solving Hamilton–Jacobi equations is presented. This is an alternative method for time discretization to the popular total variation diminishing (TVD) Runge–Kutta time discretizations. We explore the possibility in avoiding the nonlinear weights for part of the procedure, hence reducing the cost but still maintaining non-oscillatory properties for problems with strong discontinuous derivative. As a result, comparing with the original WENO with Runge–Kutta time discretizations schemes (WENO-RK) of Jiang and Peng [G. Jiang, D. Peng, Weighted ENO schemes for Hamilton–Jacobi equations, SIAM J. Sci. Comput. 21 (2000) 2126–2143] for Hamilton–Jacobi equations, the major advantages of WENO-LW schemes are more cost effective for certain problems and their compactness in the reconstruction. Extensive numerical experiments are performed to illustrate the capability of the method.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a quite general class of reaction‐diffusion equations with cubic nonlinearities and with random Neumann boundary conditions. We derive rigorously amplitude equations, using the natural separation of time‐scales near a change of stability and investigate whether additive degenerate noise and random boundary conditions can lead to stabilization of the solution of the stochastic partial differential equation or not. The nonlinear heat equation (Ginzburg–Landau equation) is used to illustrate our result. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with the semilinear wave equations with time‐dependent damping γ(t)=α/(1+t)  (α>0), under the effect of nonlinear source f behaving like a polynomial, and subject to Neumann boundary conditions. Constructing appropriate auxiliary functions, we obtain an explicit uniform decay rate estimate for the solutions of the equation in terms of the exponent of f, when α is large enough. On the other hand, via a new hyperbolic version of Dirichlet quotients, we show that the upper estimate is optimal in some case, which implies the existence of slow solutions.  相似文献

Using the upper and lower solution techniques and Hopf's maximum principle, the sufficient conditions for the existence of blow-up positive solution and global positive solution are obtained for a class of quasilinear parabolic equations subject to Neumann boundary conditions. An upper bound for the ‘blow-up time’, an upper estimate of the ‘blow-up rate’, and an upper estimate of the global solution are also specified.  相似文献

In this paper, we have developed a fourth-order compact finite difference scheme for solving the convection-diffusion equation with Neumann boundary conditions. Firstly, we apply the compact finite difference scheme of fourth-order to discrete spatial derivatives at the interior points. Then, we present a new compact finite difference scheme for the boundary points, which is also fourth-order accurate. Finally, we use a Padé approximation method for the resulting linear system of ordinary differential equations. The presented scheme has fifth-order accuracy in the time direction and fourth-order accuracy in the space direction. It is shown through analysis that the scheme is unconditionally stable. Numerical results show that the compact finite difference scheme gives an efficient method for solving the convection-diffusion equations with Neumann boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this continuing paper of (Zhu and Qiu, J Comput Phys 318 (2016), 110–121), a new fifth order finite difference weighted essentially non‐oscillatory (WENO) scheme is designed to approximate the viscosity numerical solution of the Hamilton‐Jacobi equations. This new WENO scheme uses the same numbers of spatial nodes as the classical fifth order WENO scheme which is proposed by Jiang and Peng (SIAM J Sci Comput 21 (2000), 2126–2143), and could get less absolute truncation errors and obtain the same order of accuracy in smooth region simultaneously avoiding spurious oscillations nearby discontinuities. Such new WENO scheme is a convex combination of a fourth degree accurate polynomial and two linear polynomials in a WENO type fashion in the spatial reconstruction procedures. The linear weights of three polynomials are artificially set to be any random positive constants with a minor restriction and the new nonlinear weights are proposed for the sake of keeping the accuracy of the scheme in smooth region, avoiding spurious oscillations and keeping sharp discontinuous transitions in nonsmooth region simultaneously. The main advantages of such new WENO scheme comparing with the classical WENO scheme proposed by Jiang and Peng (SIAM J Sci Comput 21 (2000), 2126–2143) are its efficiency, robustness and easy implementation to higher dimensions. Extensive numerical tests are performed to illustrate the capability of the new fifth WENO scheme. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 33: 1095–1113, 2017  相似文献

We will propose a unified algebraic method to construct Jacobi elliptic function solutions to differential–difference equations (DDEs). The solutions to DDEs in terms of Jacobi elliptic functions sn, cn and dn have a unified form and can be presented through solving the associated algebraic equations. To illustrate the effectiveness of this method, we apply the algorithm to some physically significant DDEs, including the discrete hybrid equation, semi‐discrete coupled modified Korteweg–de Vries and the discrete Klein–Gordon equation, thereby generating some new exact travelling periodic solutions to the discrete Klein–Gordon equation. A procedure is also given to determine the polynomial expansion order of Jacobi elliptic function solutions to DDEs. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We obtain nonconstant solutions of semilinear elliptic Neumann boundary value problems with jumping nonlinearities when the asymptotic limits of the nonlinearity fall in the type (Il), l>2 and (IIl), l?1 regions formed by the curves of the Fucik spectrum. Furthermore, we have at least two nonconstant solutions in every order interval under resonance case. In this paper, we apply the sub-sup solution method, Fucik spectrum, mountain pass theorem in order intervals, degree theory and Morse theory to get the conclusions.  相似文献

In this paper, a new class of generalized backward doubly stochastic differential equations (GBDSDEs in short) driven by Teugels martingales associated with Lévy process and the integral with respect to an adapted continuous increasing process is investigated. We obtain the existence and uniqueness of solutions to these equations. A probabilistic interpretation for solutions to a class of stochastic partial differential integral equations (PDIEs in short) with a nonlinear Neumann boundary condition is given.  相似文献
