We apply a variant of the method of the extremal metric to some problems concerning extremal decompositions and related problems. Let be a system of distinct points on and let be the family of all systems of nonoverlapping simply connected domains on such that . Let

In this work, we continue the previous author's investigations and consider the case . In addition, we consider the problem concerning the maximum of the sum
in the family introduced above, where , are arbitrary points of the circle , and is a positive number. We prove that if , then the maximum is attained only for systems of equidistant points of the circle . For , this result was obtained earlier by Dubinin who applied the method of symmetrization. Let be a triangular matrix algebra, uhere k is an algebraically closed field, B is the path algebra of an oriented Dynkin diagram of type E6 or E7 or E8 and M is a finite dimensional k-B-bimodule. The aim of this paper is to determine the representation type of A for any orientation of the Dynkin diagram and for any indecomposable B-module M. The one-step prediction problem is studied in the context ofP n-weakly stationary stochastic processes , where is an orthogonal polynomial sequence defining a polynomial hypergroup on . This kind of stochastic processes appears when estimating the mean of classical weakly stationary processes. In particular, it is investigated whether these processes are asymptoticP n-deterministic, i.e. the prediction mean-squared error tends to zero. Sufficient conditions on the covariance function or the spectral measure are given for being asymptoticP n-deterministic. A well-known conjecture in geometric function theory is the conjecture of Forster, namely that there exists an embedding of a Stein manifold of dimension n in an affine space . A first step to prove this was a theorem of Forster, which gives an embedding of a Stein manifold of dimension n into for n—6. The goal of this paper is an amelioration of Forster's result. It follows the main lines of Forster's proof. It is proved that the conjecture holds asymptotically.  相似文献
