Atomic Decomposition of a Weighted Inductive Limit in \mathbb{C}^{n}

Multiplicity of closed characteristics on symmetric convex hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{R}^{2n}$

Multiplicity one theorem for ({\rm GL}_{n+1}({\mathbb{R}}), {\rm GL} _ {n} ({ \mathbb{R}}))

We show that any GL_n(F)-invariant distribution on GL_n+1(F) is invariant with respect to transposition. We prove that this implies that for any irreducible admissible smooth Fréchet representations π of GL_n+1(F) and of GL_n(F),

Surgery on 3-manifolds with \mathbb{S} 1-actions

We study the topological structure of all 3-manifolds obtained by surgery along principal fibers of a closed orientable -manifold. As a consequence, we give alternative proofs of some classical results due to W. Heil and L. Moser. Moreover, we completely specify the Seifert invariants for the considered manifolds. Finally we classify the manifolds obtained by surgery along certain Seifert links and determine geometric presentations of their fundamental groups.Work performed under the auspices of C.N.R. Syzygies of Multi-Variable Higher Spin Dirac Operators on $$\mathbb{R}^{3}$$

This paper is a short report on the generalization of some results of our previous paper [12] to the case of spin j/2 Dirac operators in real dimension three for arbitrary odd integer j. We use an explicit formula for the local expression of such operators to study their algebraic properties, construct the compatibility conditions of the overdetermined system associated to the operator in several spatial variables, and we prove that its associated algebraic complex, dual do the BGG sequence coming from representation theory, has substantially the same pattern as the Cauchy-Fueter complex. The author is a member of the Eduard Čech Center and his research is supported by the relative grants.     

A note on the isotopy problem for $$ \mathbb{R}^2 $$ -planes

For a class of stable planes we define a notion of isotopy equivalence with respect to that class and prove that any two planes of a certain class of -planes comprising all affine -planes are isotopy equivalent. Furthermore we obtain that all affine -planes are isotopy equivalent in the class of affine -planes. Finally we give an example which shows that this approach cannot be easily generalized to 2-dimensional projective planes, and we outline a different way for a possible generalization.Received: 27 April 2001

On the Recursive Sequence x_{n + 1} = {{ \mgreek{g} x_{n-1} + \mgreek{d} x_{n-2}} \over {Cx_{n-1} + Dx_{n-2}}}

We investigate the global character of solutions of the equation in the title with positive parameters and positive initial conditions. We obtain results about the global attractivity of the equilibrium, the existence and attractivity of the period-two solution and the semicycles.     

On the Dynamics of x_{\bf{n} + \bf{1}} = {{ \mgreek{a} + \mgreek{g} x_{n-1} + \mgreek{d} x_{n-2}} \over {A + x_{n-2}}}

We investigate the global stability, the periodic character and the boundedness nature of solutions of the equation in the title for all admissible nonnegative values of the parameters and the initial conditions. We show that the solutions exhibit a trichotomy character depending on how the parameter γ compares to the sum of the parameters δ and A.     

Embedding some Riemann surfaces into $${\mathbb {C}^2}$$ with interpolation

We prove that several types of open Riemann surfaces, including the finitely connected planar domains, embed properly into such that the values on any given discrete sequence can be arbitrarily prescribed. Kutzschebauch supported by Schweizerische Nationalfonds grant 200021-107477/1.     

On a regularity criterion in terms of the gradient of pressure for the Navier-Stokes equations in \mathbb{R}^{N}

In this paper we establish a Serrin’s type regularity criterion on the gradient of pressure for weak solutions to the Navier–Stokes equations in It is proved that if the gradient of pressure belongs to L^{α, γ} with then the weak solution actually is regular and unique. Received: May 4, 2004     

Global s-solvability and global s-hypoellipticity for certain perturbations of zero order of systems of constant real vector fields

The main purpose of this paper is to show, in the two-dimensional torus, a necessary and sufficient condition in order to certain perturbations of zero order of a system of constant real vector fields to be globally s-solvable. We are also interested in studying its global s-hypoellipticity. We present connections between these global concepts and a priori estimates. We also present two applications of our results for systems of operators with variable coefficients.     

Linearity and Second Fundamental Forms for Proper Holomorphic Maps from \mathbb{B}^{n+1} to \mathbb{B}^{4n-3}

For a holomorphic proper map F from the ball $\mathbb{B}^{n+1}$ into $\mathbb{B}^{N+1}$ that is C ³ smooth up to the boundary, the image $M=F(\partial\mathbb{B}^{n})$ is an immersed CR submanifold in the sphere $\partial \mathbb{B}^{N+1}$ on which some second fundamental forms II _M and $\mathit{II}^{CR}_{M}$ can be defined. It is shown that when 4??n+1<N+1??4n?3, F is linear fractional if and only if $\mathit{II}_{M} - \mathit{II}_{M}^{CR} \equiv 0$ .
