Multiple solutions for partial discrete Dirichlet problems depending on a real parameter

In this paper we establish the existence of multiple solutions for a partial discrete Dirichlet problem depending on a real parameter. More precisely, under appropriate assumptions on the nonlinearities, we determine exact collections of parameters such that the treated problems admit at least three solutions.     

Center manifolds depending on a parameter

For differential equations u^′=A(t)u+f(t,u,λ) obtained from sufficiently small C¹ perturbations of a nonuniform exponential trichotomy, we establish the C¹ dependence of the center manifolds on the parameter λ. Our proof uses the fiber contraction principle to establish the regularity property. We note that our argument also applies to linear perturbations, without further changes.

We investigate operator functionsT(x) inBanach spaces, depending differentiably (meaning of classC orC ) on a parameterx and enjoying a certain regularity property. Iff is a given differentiable function such that the equationT(x)e=f(x) is solvable for eachx then the existence of a functione is proved which belongs to the same differentiability class asf andT, solving the equationT(x)e(x)f(x) identically inx. As an application we extend a result ofJ. Leiterer [9] and give a comprehensive answer to a question posed byJ.L. Taylor in [15] concerning the exactness of certain cochain complexes.     

Stability of impulsive systems depending on a parameter

In this paper, we present a practical exponential stability result for impulsive dynamic systems depending on a parameter. Stability theorem and converse stability theorem are established by employing the second Lyapunov method. These theorems are used to analyze the practical exponential stability of the solution of perturbed impulsive systems and cascaded impulsive systems, depending on a parameter. Properties of eigenvalues of positive operators depending nonlinearly on a parameter

It is proved that in a Banach space with a cone, the nonlinear (with respect to the spectral parameter ) eigenvalue problem (here is a scalar function and M is an operator-function, positive with respect to the cone for 0) admits a simple positive eigenvalue ₁. The number ₁ is characterized by variational principles. The obtained results are illustrated on the example of the quadratic pencil y+y+²B²x²y=0, which arises in the theory of structural analysis (see Ref. On the controllability of a class of differential inclusions depending on a parameter

In this paper, we deal with the following stability problem: given a differential inclusion of the formx'F(t,x,), where is a parameter varying in a topological space , find conditions under which the set of all , such that the differential inclusion is controllable, is open in . Applying Theorem 3.1 of Ref. 3, we get a result in this direction, assuming, as leader hypotheses, thatF(t,·,) is a convex process, from into itself, and thatF(t,x,·) is lower semicontinuous.
